  5. effort: 2/2 - I guess I can see it. It's borderline for me though. look: 2.25/3 - I see the concept you were going for, but for me, the bright blue all over the players just completely takes away from what this should be. You can barely see any of them and the font kind of gets lost as well. If that was fixed, this may get more marks! creativity: 1/1 - yes total: 5.25/6
  6. effort: 2/2 - I'll give it, because a lot was done to this to make it blend and work, however try more stock work. look: 2.5/3 - I'm actually really digging the one set of font work, it's pretty snazzy. The render effect and such is pretty good but the random lighting just kind of hurts it. The subtext also really hurts this. Keep working on it, you'll progress quick. creativity: 1/1 - yes total: 5.5/6
  7. effort: 2/2 - this isn't anything but perfect to me. look: 3/3 - Great piece, you have REALLY improved. Render effects are great, font work is really working for me here and the colors and blending is just pretty damn good. Kudos on improving and not giving up! creativity: 1/1 - yes total: 6/6
  8. effort: 2/2 - Great piece effort wise, no complaints here. look: 3/3 - I really see no problems with this. Text, lighting, blending and more, it's just great. creativity: 1/1 - yes total: 6/6
  9. effort: 2/2 - Easy marks here again look: 2.75/3 - The lighting just doesn't do this graphic justice, to me it actually takes away from all the great work I'm sure is under all the dark lighting. Because of this, nothing really stands out but his face, the rest is just hidden, thus I docked a bit. creativity: 1/1 - yes total: 5.75/6
  10. effort: 1.75/2 - Could have been a bit more done to this. While it's not just slapped together, it doesn't look like TOO much effort went into it, especially since it seems like a step back from your previous work. look: 2.25/3 - I usually hate giving lower grades, go look at any of my grades, but this to me just has some flaws that could have been avoided and are simple fixes. The render is improperly stretched, this really takes away from the quality of the render. On top of that, the blending is a little off and the flow is just kind of, not really there. creativity: 1/1 - yes total: 5/6
  11. effort: 2/2 - emotional thug for life, it's clear the effort is there. look: 2.5/3 - Few things with this that just make me feel like more could be done. The font is not bad, but it takes up too much of the graphic. Your eyes are drawn to the text and not the render simply because the render has no effects on it to make it stand out. creativity: 1/1 - yess total: 5.5/6
  12. effort: 2/2 - clearly improving, I have no complaints in this department. look: 2.5/3 - You're certainly improving, but there is two major aspects that hurt this graphic. First is blending. Everything else is kind of blended nicely but then you look at the render and nothing. I'd suggest trying to make everything go over it, so that it looks blended into the sig better. Second is font placement. The choice is actually pretty good, but where it is, just makes it lack. Move it more over the render so I'm not looking further to the left to read it, but rather looking right at your focal point which should always be the render. creativity: 1/1 - yes total: 5.5/6
  13. effort: 1.75/2 - I usually don't dock, but this seems extremely rushed to me, especially compared to what I'm used to from you. There is some effects and a gradient map and such, but the background is just a red background, not too much stock work used. look: 2.75/3 - Here is where you make up for the marks, because the simplistic look doesn't look half bad. If some font was put on it of your own it may tie it all together, but as I said it almost looks like you just rushed a PT and didn't take your usual time to complete it. creativity: 1/1 - yes total: 5.5/6
  14. effort: 2/2 - This is amazing. I really have to say, improvement is shown. look: 3/3 - Great effects, great lighting, great font choice. I love the simplistic fonts sometimes, it's usually the best route to take. creativity: 1/1 - yessir. total: 6/6
  15. effort: 2/2 - Great piece, great effort and all of it shows. look: 3/3 - No complaints for me. I love the font choice, and the placement. I love the coloring, and everything just works for me. It's kind of simplistic, but here it really works. creativity: 1/1 - yes. total: 6/6
  16. effort: 2/2 - Yes, great effort here look: 2.75/3 - I just think a few things throw this off like the shading and the renders face is a little...weird looking with the effects. On top of that, the font just sticks out too much, it's too out there and should be made a tiny bit smaller. creativity: 1/1 - yes total: 5.75/6
  17. I was actually the one that suggested the priority. While it's not a lot, it's a small oversight by eagles, and it's not a huge deal nor do I want to make it a huge deal. People are human that make mistakes, it's life. I'll take what I can get, so thank you
  18. Player Name: Teuvo Ruutu VHL Team: Stockholm Vikings Cash you have: 8M Purchase Name: $3,000,000 - Position Switch Cost of Purchase: 3M Cash Left: 5M
  19. Former S41 4th overall draft pick Teuvo Ruutu has come to the media today to announce a massive change in his position. While he's been a defender all his life, including his time in the minors and his high-school days, he has recently told his GM and training staff that he will be a winger come this season. The change had been in talks for a long time ever since the Vikings continued to draft and trade for a bunch of defenders. With players like Lloyd Light and Lord Karnage as well as Jack Kowalski still on defense, as well as newly drafted defender Ken Anderson, the switch gives the Vikings more threats on the offense. So...the biggest question now remains. Does he become a right winger or a left winger? With the most recent draft being done and over with and the Vikings picking up a top line center, they'll likely use him on the right wing, as a lot of their draftee's are going to still be in the VHLM. Ruutu commented on the change and addressed the media as to why he decided to make the switch. "It's a decision that is going to further the success of Stockholm. I'm all about being a team player, and it's hard to deny the talent of the four other guys on our defensive line. When it came down to it, there was no point in fighting over a spot on defense when what we need now is offense. It was a very easy decision to make, and I hope I get to make a major impact next season as a top forward in the league. I'm going to push myself above and beyond everyone's expectations and help push this team to the playoffs and beyond." Ruutu has yet to put the switch on paper as the Player Store is currently not open as the shopkeeper has been pronounced dead by VHL officials. Once they find a new guy to run the joint, Ruutu should be able to make this even more official than just announcing it through word of mouth.
  20. Minot Receives: S42 1st (Oslo, 4th overall) S42 1st (Moscow, 5th overall) S42 2nd (Moscow, 15th overall) S43 1st (Moscow) S44 1st (Moscow) and Moscow Receives: S42 1st (Minot, 3rd overall) S42 1st (Turku, 7th overall) S42 2nd (Minot, 14th overall) S43 2nd (Minot) It's hard not to move up and then down one. It seals the fate of a couple things, but at the end of the day is me moving up to 5, and gaining a S43 1st. I can't complain.
  21. IR Kesler begged me to. All my shit in photoshop is bomb.
  22. I've had a complaint or two before, and I'm sure I cannot be the only one. It's been addressed numerous times in the past and I just feel like a lot more people may use this system as they could be scared to speak up. While I have nothing to get graded due to me doing the mag, I know how it feels to receive a shitty grade on a piece you may have worked on for a while and you feel you got wrongly graded. I could be the only one with this mindset, so if I am, carry on and delete this xD
  23. So, I've been thinking about this for a while, and I think with the amount of times people have complained about how harsh their grade is, there should be a person or small group of committee members that properly deal with this, and then that person get's an argument from each side and then post's it on the forum. And yes, I know we have a head grader, but to avoid bias since he is a grader in his own right, I think it should be someone who's been on here for a long time or has experience in grading that does this. That way, no one can say that the 'system' is fucking them over, but rather that they get treated fairly. If the majority of people agree with the grader who gave the original grade, then the grade sticks but if the people agree with the person who had their piece graded, then the grade will get reversed. The person/committee will then decide what the grade is reversed to. What do you think?
  24. effort: 2/2 - Holy smokes! What a beaut. No complaints. look: 3/3 - Easily your best or one of. Nothing to dock for at all, good job! creativity: 1/1 - yeah! total: 6/6 final: 6
  25. effort: 2/2 - I'll give it here, though truthfully I think more should be done, I'm feeling nice. look: 2.5/3 - Here I'm not feeling too nice. While it's simplistic, it's just too simplistic for me. With a manip, there could be so much more done to this, but the bare minimal is there. More stock work, better lighting and proper font work are all required in this right now. I know you can do better. creativity: 1/1 - yeah! total: 5.5/6
