Well done sir.

They can't fix the old age fighter ratios so I don't think they have the want to add this. Great idea though.

Good take on the matter.

It's theme week. I had to do something.

Philadelphia Reapers Press Conference

1. I think the team is packed with talent and it will continue to dominate. 2. I have no idea. Sometimes it just takes some hard love to get players to earn and improve. 3. I haven't been surprised by much in the league. Maybe how many seasons players are playing in a development league is surprising. 4. I think several players have a shot. 5. I don't look past our team and there are many that impress me. 6. They did kind of okay. -
Review: Super nice render. Even though the text is very large, the focal point is the render. That's sometimes hard to do with this style of graphics. I like the feel of this project and it shows off your skills. I would say the text is the only thing I think could have been done differently. Maybe just a little smaller and use more than one font. That's just nitpicking. I like this graphic as it looks like it took your a bit of time to do. the background boarder fits the design well. Great job 9/10

Review: Interesting effects you have going on with this graphic. Has that frosted glass look and I really like the results. The balance is off slightly but not bad. I really like the logo on the render and the background. I am assuming the lack of contrast is a design choice as the render's face blends into the background. I think the noise really makes this graphic work. The text is working but I think the font combo could be better. I struggle with text all the time so this isn't a big deal. Great job overall. 9/10

You have a good take on this issue. I am wondering why so many members are happy to push a few buttons once a week and not fully experience the true fun of the VHL. My player is going to progress organically and see where he is after a season in the E. I can hardly wait.

Now that the season is half over everyone can get a better idea where the teams are going to line up and which players are going to perform and those who are just here for the ride. It's an interesting launch of a new player in the “M” compared to my last three players. The league has changed in a way that is hard to figure out. Not sure it's a development league anymore as many players have four or five seasons staying down. I wonder how this came to be. It used to be so exciting to have players push each other to earn and get good to move up to the big league. Something has changed. Well half a season, the playoffs and I am out of that league. I am going to try the “E” for the first time. I look forward to building my player up to compete better once moved into the big league. I think this is a great step to advance a player's career. I have seen too many underwhelming rookie seasons in the VHL to know it would be better to have a few more skills learned before advancing. Onto my favorite subject, the hybrid system. While I was very vocal about how it was implemented, I can see that a good player can be built using this system. I also think that his experiment needs to be looked at and a few adjustments could be made. I would start with the ratios. A bump up in a few skills and for the love of God, what does Penalty Shot do in our sim since it was there before the hybrid system and now were are forced to put points in it without the sim actually having penalty shots during a game. A little light on that would be helpful. Regression sucks and I think instead of just coming up with such a harsh 12 percent, maybe that should have been raised to nine or ten to start with. Just my thoughts on the matter. Everyone has some sort of opinion, this is just mine. Everyone have a safe holiday. Word count: 358

Axle Gunner Biography Axle started out like any other young boy from Greenland. Learned to skate before he stopped shitting himself. Raised by an “angry at the world” father that couldn't keep his dick in his pants. Axle's mom had enough of him in short order and kicked his ass out and got a divorce. It was the right call and it actually worked out better as his mother found a new love with the local high school hockey coach. A much better role model than his biological father had ever been. To be honest, I don't remember much about my real father other than I will always remember his yelling. On to better things. My new step father, Dick, was a very good teacher. He was a down to earth kind of guy that had a soft heart and a hard love approach that was not to be taken lightly. He started taking me to the rink where his high school team practiced and had me fetch all the pucks and equipment left laying around after the team was done. Dick was amazed at how a six year best people could skate so well. He started working with me after practice. Up to this point, Axle had never held a hockey stick or even tried to play the game. Well good old Dick turned that around and I was skating with a stick and he would do some basic drills, very basic stuff to learn. After a few years of growth, Axle found himself skating with his current high school team. Yes, he was still too young and much smaller than the other players, but I think that really helped him develop some confidence in his ability to play the game. There are always those players on just about any team that are naturally good, and some that are just there because they were expected to play hockey even though they would rather play a video game. Axle could skate circles around the lazy ones and was learning from the gifted players. Funny how certain traits can be learned at an early age. Such as hard work for the most part pays off. Dedication to just about anything helps in development. All this foundational learning would pay off in due time. Axle played in his first league of players his own age and it wasn't even close to the skill level of players he had with the high school team. Needless to say, Axle made a name for himself at a very young age. A handful of years pass and on to high school. It was strange to not have your step father as the coach at the school anymore. He moved onto the local college where he coached a very talented team. Something he always wanted to do so you can't blame him even though Axle was a bit disappointed. The new coach was a young man, and new to the town. He had some pee wee coaching experience but that was about it. He had everyone doing stuff we were well past. Axle made it through high school and did very well for himself. He learned a few life lessons that will later shape his life in positive way. Work hard and when you think you are as good as you can get, work even harder. That included all his classes at school. Axle was not going to go through school and not learn what he had to learn to succeed in life. As fate would have it, he received a scholarship to the college Dick was the coach at. Things are starting to look up at this point. After suffering under the guidance of an inferior coach, Axle was happy to be under the scrutiny of his step dad. It didn't take long before Dick had him headed back in the right direction. This time, Axle was no small kid but he was a heavy, tall and strong player. He fit in with the college player like pees and carrots. Axle had one of the best times of his young life when he went to play Dick and the college team. It sounds like all Axle did was school and play hockey, when actually he had been laying out a career that he thought would be something of value and the ability to help others. Yes, Axle wanted to be a doctor. While playing hockey was the best thing he had going for him, and he was rated as a top player no matter where he went, doing it full time had never crossed his mind. Time passes. The next stage in Axle's life would be one that would set him into the world of professional sports, or pursue a career as a doctor. He had a talk with Dick about his studies and thoughts about what he wanted to become as an adult. Dick was very supportive of what he had heard from Axle and left the decision to him. Either way, Dick and his mom had his back. Then, out of the blue, a stranger calls. Some unnamed General Manager from some league called the Victory Hockey League showed up at Axle's door and changed Axle's life forever. The offer was clear. The risks were there but the upside was very good. Yes, hockey won the war between the careers, for now. Axle made it clear that he would continue to pursue his ambition to be a doctor, but would play on a minor club for a season to see how things worked and if he would like it. Contract signed, Axle was off to the VHL. word count:943

I actually made the text closer and re-posted it a few minutes ago. It does make sense without the other text. How clever is that? MUHAHA

I should have tightened the word wrap a bit. Thanks for pointing that out.

It has been a blast playing on the Philly team. I have great teammates and a GM that is on the ball trying to find a good balance to win but also to not leave anyone behind. That makes for a fun team and a winning team. Gunner is reaching cap in the league in the next week and should be poised to make his debut in the “E” next season. Something I have yet to experience, and I think it only fair to give it a try. I think it would make for a more natural progression to have a full player experience. Axle Gunner has improved and is modeled after my last forward, John Merrick. Merrick never won an award or a cup but had a very respectable career. I think if the planets align, Gunner could be my HoF player. That would really make my dream come true. The last link in a long list of things I wish for and having a strong player and win awards in the big league would be fantastic. Of course, anyone that loves the league and builds their player to the best they can all want the same thing as Gunner does. He will work hard while in the M, the E and eventually the VHL. Time will tell if all or any of my hopes become a reality. It takes a lot of things that are out of the players control to make players succeed. Good luck to everyone.

1. Being in the "M", you want to be able to showcase your player for the draft. My expectations are to be one of the best in the league by the time the season ends. 2. Very close to call but I think it will be a three horse race to the top. 3. Obviously at the top. 4. You know, I always compete with every team we face and I haven't given it a thought on who we are playing against. 5. Well it's kind of the same question as the first one. a) Score like a madman. b) Show some defensive responsibility. c) Be a team player. 6. I hope the LA Kings do better. I have been a fan since 1975. -
Review: You made a very convincing photo style graphic. The theme is obvious and your logo swaps are spot on. I like the big background text but even more the text block with the team logo looks very good. It's fun to win as a team and even better when you can make a team graphic that comes off as the real deal. Very good work. 9/10

Review: You have a few things that are interesting and makes this sig unique. I like the multi render design and it is clearly one of the harder designs to get right. Balance and sizing can be a challenge. It seems that you did a fair job with this as the background render is more of a ghost. A couple of things, in my opinion, could have been approached differently. Your text is very small and looks lost. Your gradient overlay seems to work but I would have put the text on the top and made it larger and lower. The NHL branding should have been removed. Overall I like what you did and shows tons of promise. 8/10
