  1. The Moscow Menace had a hard day yesterday. They fell to both their opponents and ended their winning streak at 6 games. To make matter worse, The Seabasstard left yesterday's game against the Toronto Legion early due to an event where he took a 3rd period slapshot to the face from former team mate, Jaromir Lemiuex. The Seabasstard was seen bleeding out on the ice and rushed off the ice holding his hand to his face as he skated off the ice. He didn't return to the game but he made himself available to the media after the game. He looked a little rough sporting some dried up blood on his face and fresh stitches. " Well that slapshot hurt but rest assured everyone, I should be ready to go for our next game. I got 8 stitches put in during the game and apparently I got my nose broken by the shot so expect me to be sporting the twin shiners soon enough. It was a little bit of an insult to injury as I'm not at all happy with our performance during our last two losses but life goes on and we got to focus on the next game and get back on track here. "
  2. 1. Depth. Every line seems to be clicking including the goaltender. 2. Moreau, adding him to this core changed where this team was heading, he's a big reason that our team had success last year and he's doing much of the same this year. Markinson has been doing really well too and it takes two elite d-men to win in the VHL. 3. I think so, Emeritus was actually ready for a starting role last year and has only just begun to reach his potential. He got a good year of mentorship from Rasputin, so he's more than ready for the starting job this year and I think we're just scratching the surface. 4. I don't really know. Anything but the old man logo would be a good alternate. Just don't just put the just the word "Moscow" or "Menace" be a little creative with it. Maybe a scary menacing looking monster. 5. Prague. We swept them last year and they'll be looking out to get us this year. 6. Yeah well the offseason was shorter considering our long playoff run. I think we got too used to not making the playoffs haha.
  3. Well the Moscow Menace have come flying out of the gate for the first ten games of the season and have only been able to be beaten in regulation just the once by the Warsaw Predators. You'd think a trip to the Continential Cup Finals last year and a short offseason would've affected their start as it has for the Vancouver Wolves and the NHL's Montreal Canadiens, but the Menace are currently leading the league standings with a 9-1-1 record so far. That's even taking in account the roster changes the Menace have made since the finals run, like trading away their captain once again and losing a few pieces to free agency and retirement. Duncan Idaho was granted the team's captaincy and you can really see the leadership Idaho brings to the team by simply watching him play on the ice, he's the team's best player and hardest worker so the choice was fairly obvious for team GM, @Spartan. He's currently the only player on the team with more than 1000 tpe and surprisingly enough happens to be leading the Menace in scoring with his 9 goals and 22 points in 11 games. Papa Emeritus has officially taken the reigns of the team's starting goaltender role as Rasputin was allowed to leave the team via Free Agency. The Menace's season was really going to depend on how Emeritus would play as the team's undisputed starter. He currently sits with a save percentage of .924% and a 8-1-1 record. So far he's done very well for himself and the team has reaped the rewards of his solid play.
  4. 1. Well the coaching staff must already have a lot of faith in the kid to simply throw the kid on the first line. If the kid does well he might just stay on that line so it's a great opportunity for him to take hold of. 2. I try not to think of what ifs, we drafted who we drafted lets focus on our prospects. 3. I didn't really do my homework on this draft but I sure was hoping we'd find a gem or two as we weren't picking top 5 for once. 4. Officially the Captaincy was given to Idaho which I feel is the right choice for the job. 5. It's a curse I tell you, sorry Idaho guess your days are numbered now. Better win a cup this year cus it just may be your last year here. 6. I'm pretty stressed out with work as it's been ridiculously busy with people being last minute charlies before the winter really hits. Fun stuff and that's why I haven't been as committed to the VHL as much I have been in the past.
  5. G - Papa Emeritus F - Dominic Gobeil
  6. Wait, how come two teams now have Sandstrom? @samx F- Cabe McJake D - Tom Eagles @Nykonax
  7. It's now training camp time in the VHL and the Moscow Menace have had a change in routine this year after extending their season to the Continental Cup finals. The last few years the Menace player's have had a long summer break/holiday due to missing the playoffs. This year it's been a short one and the players haven't had much time to mentally reset themselves after their loss in the finals against the Vancouver Wolves. " I kinda like the short summers, those seasons where we hadn't made the playoffs the offseason were so long I was prone to just get disinterested and not as motivated to do my workouts. This year I find I haven't lost focus and i'm just excited and eager to get back on the horse and start playing hockey again. We have some unfinished business this year and I want to hit the ground running. I didn't even bother leaving Russia this offseason, I stayed here to better keep my focus on hockey and my workouts at the gym. It's actually worked out very well" -The Seabasstard

  9. 1. The Seabasstard plans to spend this offseason in Moscow so he can come back next year with a vengence. 2. I plan to stay sharp by training and practicing with members of CSKA Moscow and sometimes get to work with their head coach, the legend Sergei Federov. 3. I want to take a trip to Siberia, I want to see Lake Baikal and other landscapes. 4. I'm not a scout so I don't really pay much attention to the up and comers too too much. I know we got Spartan's player, Nico Pearce whos highly touted by will be unreachable by the menace's picks and might even go first overall. I guess there's also Grape's player Bob Vladovechsenkchushkin that's interesting. 5. The interview process was the best part. It's not often you get to interact with so many VHL GMs all at once. Got to have some pretty good discusssions. 6. It's still a little fresh and I think those wounds are still open for some, myself included. We just got to all channel that pain and push ourselves to be that much better next year. We were so close, we were one win away, we weren't far off if we fix the small flaws to our game and keep getting better were going to succeed as long as everyone stays on board.
  10. It's now been a week since the VHL Playoffs have wrapped itself up. Obviously I was a little disappointed to come back home without a Continential Cup once more, especially after leading the series 3-1. It's now been 69 seasons since the last time I've won the Continential Cup and over ten years and I'm eager to get that winless streak broken. I guess this year just wasn't the year for it, and we'll just have to try it again next year. We have a solid core that is all signed to another season so there's no reason not to think we'll be contenders once again. Still, I think it was pretty impressive to roll into the Continential Cup Finals without having a single loss in the first few rounds against Prague and Malmo. I'm also happy with how our team played, we didn't have a single player in the minuses and we had a total of 6 point per game players. But, we may have rode Rasputin's fantastic play a little too much and we may have got a little too comfortable knowing he was in net and playing on his head. Still the guy ended up posting a save percentage of .938 which is still pretty insane. Here's to the next one, hopefully!
  11. 1. Flirt with some puck bunnies and drink. 2. I'll pick Stein as he was really solid and consistent throughout the year. 3. That Vancouver stadium sure was loud in the finals. They definitely played a factor in the outcome. 4. Just sitting down listening to a few good tunes gets the job done for me. 5. Well I think our draft picks are somewhat limited I thought so I wasn't expecting much. However we do have a few retiring players that'll leave some holes in our roster that'll need to be filled. 6. I think Lexi Glass really elevated my game this year and I really appreciated having her as a line mate this year.
  12. Wow dude congratulations this is huge. You've made it! I'm happy for you, it's a very hard thing to do.
  13. Holy shit I didn't even known about this congratulations! That's really exciting to be starting a new chapter in your life. I hope you enjoy your wedding day and I wish you and your wife all the best. Piece of advice though, don't party too hard and make a foul of yourself your going to be on camera haha

  15. I know it's a old presser, but i didn't answer it. 1. After a pro hockey career i'd probably just buy a truck to convert into a overlander and just bum around and travel North America and do a lot of fishing. 2. It's great we have a young team and even though were competing now, we've still got young talent to develop such as these guys so I think we're going to be a solid team for years to come. 3. Not really I think we're gelling pretty good right now and we don't have that much cap space at play. 4. Well he seems to be, can he keep it up? I sure hope so because he has to make up for some lost time (covid) in order to beet Gretzky's record. 5. Well Idaho ending up finishing the year as our top point getter and I think he was expected to in a sense at the beginning of the season. The guy is phenomenal and is probably the most talented guy on the team. Don't get me wrong though Stein had a hell of a year too and is largely responsible for our team's success coming out of the gate this season. We're just lucky to have two 100+ point guys that are really on their A game and i'm excited to see what they can do in the post season. 6. Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but I admit, I'm not much of a cereal guy.
  16. Well last week I was able to finally hit the coveted 72 point mark to be able to say that I've got a point per game player. Out of my now three players, The Seabasstard is actually the first one to hit that 72 point milestone. Not only did I hit that 72 point mark but The Seabasstard was able to score more points this season, than his previous two seasons combined (73). "I'm not trying to be greedy at all but I'd love to be able to score a couple more goals to hit that 40 goal mark. I got five more games to do it so we'll see what happens. Either way the Moscow Menace is basically a lock for the playoffs and it's a really fun building to play in right now. The City hasn't seen a playoff series in years now and the excitement is in the air and that crowd is already pretty loud, I can only imagine how much louder they'll become once the playoffs are underway" Out of the remaining five games that the Menace have left to play, they only face one non playoff team in Helsinki which is a great opportunity to send a message to the other competing playoff teams that we're ready for war and that this will be our year.
