more questions, get that tpe! 1. Who owns the reputation of snoring the loudest on your team? 2. Who do you think has the slickest hands? 3. The Phantoms have a reputation of playing a rough bruising brand of hockey, who do you think best exemplifies this reputation? 4. We have scored 3 goals in the last six games, what needs to go differently out there? 5. Who goes the hardest at the gym? 6. Is there a player in the VHL that just gets under your skin on the ice?

Seabass Perrin is now currently riding a career year after setting a personal best in points last week after a 6-4 win over the Toronto Legion last week. After an offseason filled with controversy such as the Coronavirus Pandemic and Perrin's drinking related legal troubles, Perrin is playing the best hockey in his career while being on his road to sobriety. Perrin has now broken the 50 point milestone for the first time in his career, something his grandfather, Sebastien who played in the VHL before him never accomplished. However, Sebastien still has a Continential Cup ring in the books so in order to truly have a better career than his grandfather, Seabass must now win something. "Yeah i'm excited this year as I feel we got a good shot in going far into the playoffs this year. I'm also a little nervous considering our most recent skid, but it's better to have our growing pains now than when the playoffs are underway. Ultimately though we must right this ship before we reach the playoffs. It's a big year for us, our MVP Brick is retiring at season's end so I figure this is our winning window right now and we must take advantage of it. " The Phantoms are currently in the middle of a six game slide. The team has only been able to manage to score 3 goals in those 6 games as they have gotten shutout in half of those 6 games. The team is going through a bad breakup as it seems to really miss the chemistry they had going on their first line with Willie Dredge in the mix. Even Brick Wahl has seen a recent drop off recently in play and he is to be in a depression after his advances on a team member were rejected and and reported to HR for sexual harassment. But, lets be real even Wahl can't make the team win if the team can't manage to score some goals.

Well it's that time a year again, theme week. I've come to actually dread this week every season as it limits my creativity to a specific subject that sometimes I lack the passion to really to able to come up with a quality 500+ word Media spot. Another point that pisses me off about these theme weeks is that as long as you have a job here you don't have do the theme at all, it's just auto given to ya. So every year for them they get a free doubles week. Ain't that nice? The BoG comes up with a theme every year that limits every members' creativity to a certain theme but they don't have to do it themselves because their just too good for that. They already represent many of the leagues Hall of Fame members and current VHL all stars and for good reason, they got it pretty easy compared to the member base in my opinion. The members have to submit content for the forums every week and it sometimes takes hours to accomplish a quality point task to get your full 12tpe a week. Then you got admins from other sim leagues that get their full 12 tpe every week coasting without posting much content wise on the VHL. All these recruitment efforts are nice and all but it's all for nothing if the VHL can't retain any of them and I think a major factor in retaining some of these members is an increase in parity in the VHL and a decrease in free tpe handouts like the "free doubles week" I mentioned above for the VHL's elite. It's all cool if you guys want to give out tpe for specific jobs but I feel like anything over 2 tpe a week for a job here is just ridiculous. Okay, at least the VSN writters should get the full pop at least since they're actually creating content. Also why we giving out free tpe for other sim site's admins? That's absurd, jobs you do in other sim sites, affiliated or not shouldn't really matter here in the VHL. What you do here in the VHL should matter, that's it. You have many members here crying for ice time and then you have admins from other sites getting free tpe and not really adding any content to the site and taking up prime time roster space which is just bull shit. I get it though the BoG wants to help their buddies out to make nice. Another good move when it comes to recruitment/retention is to keep little childish squabbles like what we seen happen with that basketball league between admins under wraps and not pinned as an announcement. It's fucken embarassing that the first thing new members see as they come onto our forums is a childish squabble making us look like a bunch of immature 15 year olds running a sim league in high school. Maybe having affiliates in the first place is a problem. I know i'll be getting some flack for this week's media spot but I don't really care it is what it is and this is my frustrating opinion after all. Before every gets all up in arms and gang up on me here on the forums I must inform you that I won't be answering any replies here on the forums on this subject but feel free to blast me through private message if you want to discuss my stance or just bitch me out.

New questions! 1. If the team hosted an arm wrestling tournament, who do you think would win? 2. The trade deadline has passed what do you think of the two deals we've seen? 3. Cinnamon Block, just hit the 50 point mark, who do you think will be next to hit 50? 4. Does your team have any hazing rituals? 5. What do you think are the odds of this team making it past the first round of the playoffs? 6. Willie Dredge @Speed who has been here since the team's inaugural season has been traded, do you have any parting words for the guy?

Last week it was announced by the Prague Phantoms that they have terminated Aleksei Sytsevich contract as the team's Assistant General Manager. The team decided to move on from the old geezer after he had been missing for the last few months after he had returned to his home country of Russia at the end of season 70. He told no one about where he was going or who he was meeting up with once he arrived in Russia. His discarded wallet containing his I.D. was found in his hometown of St. Petersburg last month which initiated the missing persons report. His cell phone was revealed just last week in a ditch after being revealed by the spring thaw not far from where his wallet had been found. The press revealed yesterday that a visit to Sytsevich's residences in both Prague and St. Petersburg by the police uncovered evidence that Sytsevich was involved with a underground criminal organisation and had been actively participating in the smuggling of illegal narcotics into the Czech Republic using the Phantoms as a cover up. Rumour has it Sytsevich was kidnapped and possibly murdered by a rival criminal organisation. After it's fair share of controversy the last couple of years the Phantoms have decided it was best to step away from Sytsevich after the latest information release. In comes in their new hire, J-P Bordeleau a former long time head coach of the Halifax Mooseheads and the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Bordeleau is a 53 year old from Trois Rivieres, Quebec and had been the General Manager of the Gatineau Olympiques the past 2 seasons so unlike his predecessor, Bordeleau at least has some sort of managing experience before jumping on with the VHL's Phantoms. "I'm pretty 'onered to 'ave da opportunity to represent da Phantoms franchise and to get my first taste of VHL managing experience. I look forward to get to know all da team's players and I hope I can help GM Glasser transform dis team into a championship winning team in da future. We have solid foundation wit players like Cinnamon Block and youngster Thomas Landry II to build a solid dynasty around. The Phantoms have nowhere to go but up"

1. How stoked are you to be sitting on top of the European COnference? 2. Out of all the cities that host a vhl team, which one is your favourite to play a away game against? 3. As a young millionaire playing in the VHL what do you do with all VHL earnings? Are you a spender or a saver? 4. What's your all time favourite movie? 5. How are you holding up during the COVID pandemic? 6. Do you have any personal goals that youd like to accomplish during the summer?

The Phantoms have slowed down their pace recently since sitting on top of the VHL standings briefly after going 2-8 in their last 10 games. Oddly enough, Phantoms captain, Seabass Perrin has been playing the best hockey of his career after an eventful offseason that seen him and fellow teammate Alex Pearson go to rehab to fight their demons. Perrin has managed to score points at over a PPG pace during that ten game span scoring 11 points (2goals, 8 assists) and going +3. Perrin is having a great season for his standards as he's currently on pace to break his career highs in points (45pts) as he's already hit 30 points and we're just about at the halfway point of the season. "I guess not hitting the bottle everyday has helped huh? *chuckles* My individual success ultimately doesn't fucking matter at the end of the day if we're losing as a team. At the end of the day the score up on the scoreboards and our rankings in the standings are all that matter to me. We want to win this year and we ain't fucking around. I think we're going to roll out of the easter holidays with a few wins and we're going to get ourselves back on that level we were at previously."

I'm honored to be able to accept this role. I was rather surprised to be approached with this job offer as I wasn't aware Zoiderberg was even MIA. I didn't hesitate to say yes as I love the group of guys we got over here in Prague and I feel like we have a good team culture going on and I want to do my part to keep that going in the future. I'm excited for this new challenge and excited to keep working with the Phantom's franchise that I've called home for the past 4 seasons. Go Phantoms!

It's been a few months now that the Prague Phantoms put two of their players on the VHL's Substance Abuse Program (VSAP). One of the two players involved, Seabass Perrin announced on twitter that he was celebrating his 2nd month away from alcohol and other illegal substances. " Today i'm celebrating 2 months of sobriety and it's been a hard, difficult road to get myself here. Sobriety has been the most difficult obstacle I've faced during my VHL career. It was difficult coming to term with my issues and to finally accept that I needed professional help. I want to thank our General Manager, John Glasser for stepping up in offering me the help I needed to set my career back on the right track and my teammates and friends for being there for me in my time of need. " Perrin also revealed to The Athletic last week that on top of his issues with alcohol, he had to battle a percocet addiction he had developed after recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum after season 69. Perrin himself has mentioned how lucky he's been for not getting into more trouble with the law then he had already. It was rumoured Perrin was even quite involved in the drug trade in city of Prague, but that's just a rumour and Perrin has refused to acknowledge any questions on the subject. " The past is the past now and there's only the future to look forward to. I feel a lot healthier today than i have been in years. Physically I feel like I've come into S71 in the best shape of my life. I have some difficult days mentally still but i'll get there eventually. I feel a lot happier as I'm a lot more involved with the team now on and off the ice. I feel a lot better about myself now." Perrin has been playing pretty solid hockey this year as his team is sitting in a three way tie for first in the VHL Standings. He currently is 6th in team scoring with 13 points in 22 games.

Phantoms enjoying a good start The Prague Phantoms are off to their best start to a season, ever. They're currently sitting in the middle of a three way tie for first place on top of the VHL standings with both S70 Continental Cup finalists, the Moscow Menace and the Calgary Wranglers. But they've been holding that position in the standings for a while now, is this how good the Phantoms are this year or are they due to fall down to earth? Signs seem to point that this might be real as they've been holding their own in their games against European Conference teams, including being 2-1 against the top ranked Menace. But a good point to add is that the European Conference is pretty weak overall this year. The Riga Reign and Helsinki Titans are rebuilding after key retirements and UFA departures. The Nighthawks seem to be more of a bubble team and well Davos is, well just being Davos. So essentially there isn't too much top end competition else then the defending champs so the Phantoms chances of finishing up the S71 near the top is actually pretty good. So far the only thing that may hold the team back from competing with teams like the Moscow Menace is a elite offensive threat. The Phantoms currently only have one point per game player in defenseman, Cinnamon Block @omgitshim who just keeps on getting better every year. But, in comparison, the Menace currently have 4 point per game players and 2 of their players are only 2 points shy of making it 6 point per game players. The Phantoms lack of offense isn't really affecting their position in the standings so far but it might start rearing it's ugly head anytime now. Brick Wahl @BladeMaiden has been their savior so far with his .928 save percentage but that doesn't seem very sustainable long term considering the Phantoms are leading the league in penalty minutes with 296 team PIM, a full 30 minutes ahead of the next team, the Seattle Bears. " I think we're playing well right now and i'm not really worried about our scoring all too much as we're more of a defense first team anyways. We're not scoring very much, but neither are our opponents against us. Most of our games as tight low scoring games. Think of us more like the NHL's New Jersey Devil's of the early 2000s just with more grit. We've always scored by committee so what else is new? It's our position in the standings that ultimately count and we're winning games right now so i'm happy with that. However I'm not currently happy being the most penalized team in the league. The officials of the VHL are all haters and I think our GM @diamond_ace and the VHL should look into their officials for being out to get us and let us play hockey. " - Defenseman, Seabass Perrin That's pretty strong accusations coming from the team captain. Perrin has been no saint himself having spent 48 minutes in the box, good for 2nd on the team behind Frobe who has a few fighting majors under his belt. Perrin, has never fought in his 3+ years in the VHL. He is also 2nd behind Frobe on Phantoms all time PIM list with 426 total PIM with the team since his rookie season in S68. The Phantoms have two games set for today, one against the Toronto Legion and a game against the Helsinki Titans. The Phantoms are 1-2 against the Titans and hope to bounce back against their former teammates, Erik Draven @Jbeezy76 and Blake Laughton @Grape. The Phantoms have just come off a 3-2 shootout win versus the Legion on friday and hope to continue their good fortune against the Legion.
