Today it was revealed that the Prague Phantom's Defenseman, Seabass Perrin has been recovering from a offseason surgical procedure done to his right shoulder to repair a torn labrum. According to team officials it was only revealed after the season was over during a doctor evaluation that Perrin had to go get surgery. His recovery is estimated to be 4 months which puts Perrin at risk of missing the team's first game in Season 70. Perrin's agent mentioned how the defensemen had been dealing with issues concerning his shoulder since a game against the Riga Reign in the first quarter of the season. Perrin spoke to TSN briefly over the phone this morning and offered a quick explanation of his own. "I just took a good hit in a game and felt pain to my shoulder instantly but I thought it was a issue that would heal by itself over time. However, it kept giving me some discomfort throughout the season but I just played through it. Not only till I got doctors to take a further look at my shoulder at the end of the year did I find out the extent of the damage to my shoulder. I hope to come back in time for our first game as i'm really excited to be a part of what's going to be a different team this year." Perrin has come off a poor season where he only managed 24 points after his 42 point rookie campaign in S68. After spending much of the last two years on the first pairing alongside Wolf Stansson Jr, Perrin was slated to star on the teams 2nd pairing after the Phantoms acquired more defensive depth over the offseason.

The Prague Phantoms have been the most active team on the trade front since season's end as they currently lead the VHL with 6 trades made so far, and the puck hasn't even dropped yet. They already had a few trades lined up to be announced even before the VHL playoffs were even done. It was a nice surprise after seeing GM, Glasser not make many impactful moves during his first two seasons with the team, but this year he's making a statement. The Phantoms are here to compete in S70. In this article i'll be focusing on the new members of the Prague Phantoms that we've welcomed to our team. I'll be giving a short history on each player and ramble on about their stats. I will also explain how each player will fit in on the roster and what to expect out of them this season. Brick Wahl @BladeMaiden January 8th was a very big day for the Phantoms. After trading away their captain, Erik Draven for picks, the Phantoms reached out and acquired one of the VHL's elite goaltenders, Brick Wahl in exchange for their 1st round pick and Owen May. Wahl has been the face of the Calgary Wranglers in my opinion and has backstopped the team since S64 reaching a total of 169 career wins in the 376 games he has under her belt. Wahl has also never had a season with a save percentage under the .914% posted in her rookie season which is absolutely amazing numbers. The Phantoms really needed a goaltender as last year's goaltender tandem didn't work out very well last season. Owen May was also not committing to the team by not showing up to practice, so the Phantoms had to do something. Wahl brings a whole wealth of experience to the team and also brings a much needed stability in net for the team. Also what better veteran can you think of than Wahl to mentor team captain, Solomon Crawford so he can take over once Wahl retires, again. I think Wahl will be the most important addition the GM can make for this team and she instantly makes the team harder to beat. Edward Vigneault @Patpou22 On the same day that GM, Glasser acquired Wahl, he also acquired Edward Vigneault. Vigneault was acquired from the Moscow Menace for a 2nd round selection adding to a already deep Phantoms defense corps. Vigneault is not much older than the current core of players which makes him a good fit for the team. Vigneault however has more experience than any other D man on the team with 3 full seasons under his belt already. He hasn't really put up much offensive numbers as he has a career best 21 points in S68 but that's not what to expect out of him. Vigneault prides himself more on the defensive area of the game as he is slowly growing up to be one of the leagues better defensive defensemen. He had a plus/minus of +38 in his last season in Moscow so it's pretty mind boggling on why Moscow Gm, would get rid of the young player for a measily 2nd in the first place. Either way the team is quite happy to welcome him aboard and I figure the man will be featured on the Phantom's first pairing this season. Roll Fizzlebeef @TacticalHammer Phantom fans were really excited when news broke out that the team had acquired Fizzlebeef. The team had just lost their top point scorer to UFA and didn't have to wait long to see a possible replacement for that lost scoring in Fizzlebeef. The Phantoms and Wranglers once again were trade partners in this deal that seen both a first round pick in S72 and a third go to Calgary as they embrace a rebuild. Fizzlebeef, despite Calgary's poor season last year is coming off a career best 67 points and 2nd 30 goal season in a row. His season was also good enough to make him Calgary's top point getter in S69. Fizzlebeef has the potential to become Prague's next top scorer in S70 as he's expected to play important minutes as the Phantom's 1st line center and will be amongst the teams most experienced forwards along with Don Draper and newly acquired Teagan Glover, all drafted in the S65 VHL entry draft. He and Wahl should be able to help each other settle in nicely amongst the Phantoms. Teagan Glover @Bucky___lastard The route Glover took to finally end up as a Phantom was an interesting one. He was traded twice in two days. First, the Toronto Legion traded him and a package of picks to Davos in return for multiple players. Then Davos traded him once more to the Phantoms in return for for Matthew Materazo, more of a cap saving move by the Phantoms. Glover is coming off a 49 point season where he failed to come near the bar he set for himself after S68's 72 point season. Prague is deep at center having 5 capable centerman on the roster (Fizzlebeef, Glover, BigShotty, Havlova and Pearson) so it'll be interesting to see where Glover will slot in the lineup as it appears someone is going to have to shift to the wing next year.I figure he'll be a part of the teams top 6 either as a centerman or winger.Glover is a player to watch as he has a lot to prove after last year. Next season will definitely be an exciting one with all the new big name additions to this years roster. Fans has shown some of that excitement already as they sold out of season tickets for next year and many analysts have the Phantoms as a team poised to contend to make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. The Phantoms are coming off a season where they seen a slight improvement over their inaugural season in S68. They finished only ahead of the DC Dragons and Davos HC but still fell well short of making the playoffs. These past moves have completely changed the identity of this team and it should be a fun season to watch. I hope my article have offered some insight and information on the new members of the team Go Phantoms! WORD COUNTER 1040something

For the last two seasons the Prague Phantoms were lead by Erik Draven who was appointed the captain after being taken 1st overall in the expansion draft. GM, Diamond_ace had a lot of faith in the man and named him captain straight out of the gate. Draven was a very vocal leader and a very assertive one as well, he helped put the building blocks in place for the team as he recommended bringing in former Rush players such as Wolf Stansson Jr., Willie Dredge and Seabass Perrin to the team to help start up a locker room culture. The Phantoms weren't very good during Draven's tenure as they only compiled 52 wins in their 144 games played, good for a winning percentage of 36%. Keep in mind this was the first two seasons after expansion, so we weren't expecting them to be great. Frustrations boiled over last season with Draven during the team's worst stretch of the season as he and the GM came to a disagreement over the goalie rotation. Unfortunately for the Phantoms after that conversation, Draven got disinterested with the team and proceeded to leave the team at the end of the season after his contract came up. Yesterday it was announced that goaltender, Crawford Solomon was going to take the reigns as captain after a team vote. It was a surprise to some as Crawford just came off a terrible rookie season where he only won 4 games out of his 24 games played. However as many members of the team have mentioned before in previous media spots and VHL.com articles, Crawford was our unsung hero. He always worked hard in practice and at the gym and would never complain or let his emotions get the best of him. He also didn't pick a fit after the team reached out and acquired Brick Wahl of the Calgary Wranglers. He obviously cares about the team before himself and that is what is going to make him a good captain. He'll lead by example and keep his team calm with his calm demeaner, which is a different leadership style compared to year's past. Crawford we all love you man and I hope we can give you a cup to lift over your head during your tenure. @diamond_ace @AndrewWarren13

New Presser 1.When you think of the Phantoms, what style of game do you envision the Phantoms playing? Ex: Trap, Team that makes most of their opportunities on the rush, possesion ect. 2. We somewhat have a rivalry in place with the DC Dragons due to them entering the league at the same time as us. But, in your opinion do we have any established rivalries with any teams within our conference yet? 3. Do you have a lady/man in your life, if so any kids? 4. Do you play any sports else than hockey during the off season? 5. With the draft approaching, is there any eligible prospects out there that you'd recommend? 6. What do you think is the weakest part of your game?

We managed to catch up with Seabass Perrin, defenseman of the Prague Phantoms are at a timbits minor hockey game in Red Deer, Alberta and he managed to answer two of our reporter's questions after the game. Question #1: How do you feel about missing the playoffs yet again? How do you think I feel. It's 2 years in a row now where we've missed the playoffs and I've had to twiddle my thumbs bored doing shit like golf while other teams were competing for the top award in hockey, the Continental Cup. I'm honestly over this, I wanna be playing for something here instead of being bottom feeders every year. Next year we got to make the playoffs, we gotta come back better, and I myself have to be better. We gotta find a way as a team to just get her done. Question #2: You mentioned having to be better, what do you have to do in order to be better next year? I stunk this year, I play first pairing minutes and barely even hit 20 points. That's well below my own standards and I've got to do everything I can to come back better next year and be more of a offensive contributor. I have to bring more than just blocking shots to the table, I gotta have more to my game to deserve those minutes out there.

NEW PRESSER 1. Did you attend any parties for New Year's Eve? 2. What is your new year's resolution? 3. What are you doing to keep busy, considering the long offseason you have? 4. Among all of this year's pending UFAs, who would you like to see join the team? 5. How do you feel about losing your captain and topscorer, Erik Draven? 6. Who should be in the running to fill Draven's role as captain?

As someone who was around in those early seasons, ya I'm curious too. Kinda curious on when/why scotty Campbell left as I missed that too
