  1. 1. A brief look back at the playoffs. What did you think about the Minnesota series?

We could have won it and went all the way but that's not what the hockey gods wanted. We're young and only getting better, wont happen the same way next season

    2. Looking back a bit further, reflect upon your season. How do you think this season went for you?

Scored more than my last character by 3 points and almost took over goals lead for defenseman.. I'd say it went awesome although a point a game would have been even better

    3. If you had any goals for yourself, did you meet them?

Wanted to put up offensive numbers and be recognized kind of like a winger and my total number of shots prove that, met muy goal after scoring 10 power play goals

    4. Las Vegas was honored to have so many active players on the team. Who was someone on the team who you loved to be around and chat with?

Reynolds is always there and gives good updates and knowledge about recent games plus he knows how to get involved in league activities bringing conversation to the locker room

    5. With the upcoming VHL draft, and most of you eligible, which team would you like to play for?

If I was in the draft I'd like to stay here most but if I went somewhere else it'd be Halifax or Mexico City. Had a good experience in all organizations

    6. What was your favorite moment this season on Las Vegas?

Number one thing has to be Tamm's point production, kid is a fucking beast. Also when our team filled up with activity.. Knew we could do something. Had a good time chatting it up with Petal and Thunder on the blueline too, the deadly duos will be back! Lastly I'm glad I met Friedriksen, he's calm, cool and collected all the time, see ya dude and good luck to ya as well!

  2. Week 7/Games 63-72

    3. Nils Friedriksen :veg:

Just what the doctor ordered for the Aces in the last stretch of games and Friedriksen stood tall beating playoff teams 5 times in 8 games including 3 wins against Ottawa alone. Playing every shot like it was the last Nils didn't take any days off working to better his game and he demonstrated great leadership abilty when his team was down

    2. Drew Minott :hou:

Steady and bright eyed for the puck we see an amazing performance out of a streaky Minott in the last part of the VHLM season. He was able to stay rock solid and shutout the opposition once in a 3-0 win, had 3 different wins against the Wild in a 6 game streak, making the rest of the playoffs teams nervous to take on a goaltender that's ready for the next level of hockey.

    1. Bacon :mia:

Like last week Bacon continued to win and help his team get a better seed in the playoffs gaining 16 of a possible 20 points in the last week of games. The Marauders only played contenders 4 times but put a dent in the Marlins ego beating them twice, goals against wasn't problem either as we see Bacon come out of week with the best GAA plus he had a shutout and a 6 game win streat during this time to add a cherry on top

Well I had a lot of fun following the leagues best goalies this season and it helped me to be more involved than my last character getting a series together, Now I know how I could perform with my future goaltening build and what to expect.. If I could have did anything different I'd get more names involved and include the lower teams, bad planning on my part. It still turned out OK and think it's an interesting read for the players themselves and their teams who want to get pumped up or change strategies to stop allowing X amount of goals, etc. Thanks to the bunch who left a comment and/or reaction.. It means a lot :)

Last thing I wanted to do was add up all the spotlights together because I wad curious who had the most mentions and performed the best in S74. 1sts equal 30, 2nds equal 20 and 3rds equal 10. Overall our best goaltenders this season were..

    Overall

    3. Ajay Krishna :ott:

Krishna played his heart out this season and showed spirts of greatness in stretches, he stood tall and had 10 shutouts which lands him 2nd in the league, we see him come in 2nd again in wins with 52 and for a 3rd time come 2nd in assists, getting his name on the scoresheet 3 different times

    80 - 2 1sts, 0 2nds, 2 3rds

    2. Bacon :mia:

Bacon was a much talked about goalie this season and for a good reason, he had the most wins by 4 with 56 and averaged a phenominal 2 goals against all season making one of the best to do it in S74

    110 - 3 1sts, 1 2nds, 0 3rds

    1. Calvin Harvey :osl:

Harvey ends the season on top and is our #1 goaltender this season. He was all over the leaderboards and lead the league with most shutouts by 3 with a total of 13 perfect games

    110 - 2 1sts, 2 2nds, 1 3rd

Congratulations and nice work with building your players this season! Good luck in the playoffs!!

    1. As the regular season wraps up, what are your hopes for LVA come playoff time?

Go all the way and win the title

    2. Who do you think will win the VHL playoffs this year?

Goaltending is key and I'm a big fan of Eagles so the Reign should do well.. Hope they win again

    3. Have you ever been to a casino IRL? If not do not let this question sway you into going.

Once, won 30 dollars and lost it all in slot machines

    4. Be honest with me, since joining LVA have you turned into a gambling addict?

    Nope

    5. Most likely our first round in the playoffs will be against MIN, do you have any trash talk for them you'd like to share?

I'd rather beat them and that'll be enough trash talk in itself

    6. Who wears the pants in the relationship, @Spartan or @fishy?

    Definitely fishy

  4. Games 52-62/Week 6

    3. Dimmadome :sdm:

The Marlins faced playoff clinchers 7 times in 11 games and came out of with a positive record of 4-3, every win Doug was able to turn aside less than a goal per period and in losses only a goal per, he did his job and gave San Diego a chance to win all week

    2. Bacon :mia:

Miami started this week on fire winning 6 in a row and a lot of credit goes to the goaltender who made a bunch of great saves, beat playoff teams three times and had an average only 2 goals against.. Add in the shutout he had during the streak too and we see a goalie that's prepared for the next stage of hockey

    1. Harvey :osl:

Our number one mention has to be Harvey who averaged 2 goals against all week and nearly had shutout several times, when he lost the next game he performed better retaliating with big wins while having the hardest stretch compared to the other guys and maintained his composure shrugging off hard shots winning 9 times

  5. GAMES 41-51

    3. Ajay Krishna :ott:

I swear I'm not picking this man again because of his swagger, no, Krishna is a beast and there's a good reason his teammates call him the "Cheat Code", again he put in work to help his team rise in the standings winning 8 times and kept a calm mind the whole time, the only time we saw him unfocused was when he needed a drink.

    2. Calvin Harvey :osl:

This week Harvey was able to shut the door against playoff contenders and get some important wins for his team as we get closer to the 72 game mark. Ended up playing 6 different top teams and won 4 times, shutout the Marlins and had 5 game win streak that included wins against San Diego, Saskatoon and the Lynx

    1. Bacon :mia:

One point two two goals against, yeah you heard me right, Bacon was able to accomplish a ton this time around and made it look easy. In 11 games he turned aside 157 shots and allowed only 16 goal against while going on a 11 game win streak, four of those games were against San Diego and Ottawa, at the end of the week Bacon only gave up 2 in all games but one time where he let in 4 during this stretch

    1. What has been your favorite memory from your player or in the LVA locker room this season so far?

The surge of new players made it exciting, we went from zero to hero quick and shocked the league

    2. Sorry I haven't been around as much the last couple weeks, work has been hectic. Do you have anything you'd like to ask me, or is there anything I can help you with?

You've been busy? Couldn't notice.. Must be doing a good job. No extra hand needed over here, maybe focus your efforts on our guys closing in on a 100 so they can get the 10 bonus before the playoffs start and have a decent player that'll mesh with the rest of the team

    HN.png Doug Dimmadome Marlins_vCpIIA4.png

Keeping up the good work and earning himself another mention as the third best goaltender this week we see Dimmadome make similar saves that triggered DeJa Vu. Hopefully Doug invested in a mask upgrade with a built in pillow or fill his bottle with coffee because we saw only 18.4 shots against which is 4.4 less than last week and games are only getting harder, making the coaches nervous for the playoffs. Good news is the Marlins are outscoring their opponents and giving him enough time to adjust.

Holy hell the Bulls are on fire and Minott is benefiting from it large, he's already being an all star goalie but he keeps improving. Not many can say they won ten in a row and doing it with only two goals against the whole way is phenomenal, winning 5 of 5 games against playoff contenders, Minnesota once, Saskatoon and Miami twice. Now at 19 wins in the previous two weeks and counting because they have already won another three going into the following week. This time we see Drew drop a spot but improved his goals against average by .7 and faced around the same amount of shots from opposing team we as see him take the lead for assists

So far we have seen Krishna take the top spot three times and boy did he ever have a good week, has to be his best work this season and the retired all star goalies should be proud from his jaw dropping saves and highlight reel performances. Eight games we saw less than two goal against and faced 15+ shots eight different times, we wont see these results often. One thing we gotta talk about is the three shutouts recorded, poor Mexico City because two of them were against them and a total of 40 shots were turned aside in both bouts. Right now Krishna is second, one behind league leader Calvin Harvey and in the running for almost every other category

  8. POTENTIAL BUILDS FOR FUTURE CHARACTERS

After thinking it over ans reminiscing about my old players in all simulation leagues, online or offline, probably going to end up being a goaltender or center. Here's some of the reasons why

    GOALIE

The only position you get leaned on by the whole team, specially with the lack of people in this position. You either have an amazing time or get frustrated and you cant do anything about it really, just continue to upgrade or hope for the boys to pull through. You do get a lot of props and stars though so statistics will always be interesting

I played goalie three times before, used my real name and was on a team called the Providence Puffins and another time in the same league on the Michigan Superiors but I was the General Manager. Won a championship with my first team, second time around after many seasons didn't go so well, we did make the playoffs though. Last team I was on didn't go anywhere and before games were posted the league stopped, it was owned by the Prague Phantoms current GM, diamond underscore mother fucking ace, the Pittsburgh Paladins. An empty arena made Mogens Gregersen flea back home, jobless.. That's why I wanna make a danish player. Been another couple of years now so I'd definitely consider it, don't know a thing about how to build a net minder.. Will most likely need help and the right team or things could go downhill quickly

League needs all the net minders and noticed nobody has a back up and wouldn't mind doing that, adds to the fun if you can switch it up against rivals, teams you got plumbed by or giving your starter a break against weaker teams or on the road. Makes me want to be a one just to help the league out

What I'd go for would be a big European from Denmark, maybe have a family history already or begin one. Gotta have rebounding and my crease covered so I would be a butterfly style kind of guy, hopefully my teammates sacrifice themselves to block high risers. Even if I come close to the cap I'm going to stay in the VHLM as long as possible so I have the skill to make the VHL as the next Carey Price

After all the net seems like a smooth ride to success if everything goes right paired with my activity, I can be that reliable, open to any location goaltender that gets involved in locker room chat. Can see myself playing the full 7 seasons for the total games played

    image.jpeg.08cf24a0624ddffe88b1b7b5c5590fea.jpeg

    CENTER

Again another position you get focused on more and possibly sacrifice some skill for faceoffs. You'll always be involved in the play and earn more ice-time for the responsibility given, you also get to play with almost the full team which gives you more chances to get a point or any other stat

Played this position twice and long before I strapped the pads on.. played for a team in Mississauga, the Reds and whenever I started being a manager, wasn't very good but it was my first time getting more involved and eventually started changing things up every season after that so my team didn't have any holes. Let's just say the whole time playing center was disappointing and had bad luck making a difference, was very new to builds and the league switched to STHS halfway through their existence

Don't think the VHL or VHLM really needs this position and if a winger learns how to take draws you might be out of a top line spot, although being a center is important it takes somebody dedicated to excel at their game and fill the voids needed, sure more planning comes with this role

Gotta go with a grinding-type kind of like Mike Fisher, hard nosed and fueled to go any length of minutes, I'll be a hard hitting, speed demon with an accurate shot. This will be my guy I create after the deadline to earn more TPE before the draft. Depending on my team who knows if I retire early like my previous player Ryan Busser or go all the way, I'll leave this up to fate and circumstances

I'm actually not sure how my career will turn out, could be a 1st liner or penalty kill specialist, all I know is I'm going to try something new and go against the grain because I'll have so many tools to use at middle ice and want to stick out from the rest

    image.jpeg.a5349850268e485ed3bbfc48f9661cb4.jpeg

At the end of this article both types of characters I haven't been in a while, success or not, the decision is still hard. What do you guys think
