Season 80 is coming to an end in just a few days and this is something fans of Seattle are not used to, sitting outside the playoffs. In fact, Seattle is not only missing the playoffs but is one of the worst teams in the league this season, as was expected after being contenders for well over a decade. Rookie Vinny Detroit is still in a good mood despite the disappointing season for the team. Detroit has just 10 goals and 13 assists, mind you much higher than expected based on junior numbers, but not enough to help the team offensively too much. He has sworn to improve his game offensively but that is not where he shines. It's the physical aspect that Vinny shines at and has shown that as a rookie where he sits 7th in the league with 325 hits. If he maintains that pace for his whoe career, he is for sure to beat the record for all time hits in the VHL.

The best press conference you will ever see
dasboot replied to Baby Boomer's topic in Player Press Conferences
1. My favourite person is Aksuko, he gets peppered every night but still has a great attitude 2. Hard to pick against the Lightning that they kept that core intact 3. Just a cool name 4. Australia needs some teams, VHLA??? 5. Favourite logo is probably the Miami Vice when because the colour scheme is unique 6. Predators, again colour scheme and first team I played for that I cared about -
How many acronyms can I use in a title? If I tried, a lot more than that. Anyways, coming up on a new week and plan on doing some recording for Beers with Boot. First episode was a mild success having some listens from my good mates Boom and Berocka, as well as a few others. I'm still getting used to being back in podcasting and figuring out how I want the flow of each show to go. Hopefully once it all gets hashed out, more people will listen and if not, don't really fucking care because I still get TPE. I'm looking for topic suggestions and maybe some questions so if you have anything throw them in this thread. Since trivia isn't a thing this season, it seems I'm gonna have to write one of these every week and that may be my outlet to get people to ask me questions. So shoot away, and I'll answer them on the next podcast. Cheers

Fuck I miss Thanksgiving dinner, too hot to eat a big turkey dinner down here but Yeah pretty happy with the performance, on the hits leaderboard which is all I wanted and been surprised by the offence I know Bana wanted to lose so happy that way, but want to start winning more next season Probably Vancouver because they've been bad for awhile, but clearly something has clicked there My plans are to drink beer and play hockey I'm thankful for good health and the world getting back to normal

Latrell enjoying vacation in Australia after retiring from VHL

First off I want to say this is by far the latest I've waited before submitting a task at the end of the week for earning TPE for my player, and risk losing my perfect 12 capped a week with Detroit. I don't really particularly care, but at the same time kinda do this young in his career. I'm on vacation in Darwin and been on the piss all arvo and just got home and remembered. Thank you PST time deadline in VHL, as it's 4:00pm on Monday in NT here. Secondly I want to say I published my podcast like 50 hours ago and there's been 1 listen so far lol. Thank you Berocka for listening, and being my only listener, you the true fellow Aussie. I believe it's Thanksgiving in Canada this weekend so I'll make that as the excuse why no one else has listened and I'm sure the ratings will go through the roof this week. Anyways, have a great week, cheers VHL.

Increase PF to 13, get rid of all capped TPE

1. Nah everyone in the VHLE is a plug 2. Not a chance, mostly made up of folded VHL franchises for a reason 3. Seattle was gonna have a rough start all along, but have got some good wins. Happy with the team performance, wish I had more hits 4. Not likely, even in a weak NA division, it's still gonna be tough 5. Yeah if it means I get more money in my bank, go for it 6. Bear and it's not even close

BEER COUNT: II Welcome into the first episode of my new podcast. Very rough and poor editing, you can tell it's been awhile since I've podcasted. On recording this, I've learned some things I need to improve on and that is drinking more beer and talking less, so hopefully we can build on from that. May be a struggle to listen to, but hopefully enough to enjoy. Topics today were: 0:25 - Podcast visions 12:12 - Vinny Detroit If you have any suggestions, complaints or topics you want me to discuss, hit me up. Cheers.

COMING SOON There's a new podcast coming soon to the VHL, and there's zero excitement surrounding it. Former podcaster dasboot has posted a teaser for his new solo endeavour but not too many people have seen it. That is to say that not many people will listen, but as long as that sweet sweet TPE gets applied, no one has to listen. If you are interested, keep an eye out next week in the podcast section. Now this project has been started before and never came to air, so no promises at all, but I can confirm that some recording as well as some editing has happened, so it's looking promising that there will be a podcast, but no promises of any quality. If you are by yourself and feel bad for having a drink alone, this is the podcast for you as you can drink with boot and listen to rambling about the VHL. Cheers.

Terrible idea, who invited this guy?

Random "FUN" Questions From BladeMaiden
dasboot replied to BladeMaiden's topic in Player Press Conferences
The key responsibilities are being the first player to engage every game and pulling your team into battle, lead by example. As said, ideal candidate is someone who leads by example, is well liked by teammates Typical workout day is an hour of stretching, hard on the weights to keep the strength up and boxing for cardio and fighting practice Do you want the best player ever? Only question needed The Bears have the best program in the league as shown by their success the past 15 seasons Cup, always a cup -

VINNY DETROIT ROOKIE EXPERIENCE A COUPLE SEASONS IN THE VHLM The VHLM wasn't kind to Vinny Detroit. When he first joined the league he was picked up by the Miami Marauders who were a bottom feeder team that were getting ready to compete in the next season of play. Joining the team, he was able to get just 1 goal and 4 assists and a -9 in 19 games. He was able to showcase his best asset, and that is his physicality with 44 hits in those games. Coming into the dispersal draft for the M, there wasn't much expectations for the young player. There were tons of offensive powerhouses and for that he dropped down to the Mississauga Hounds at 21st overall, the team which also had an abundance of picks and the clear early favourites for the cup that season. Detroit saw bottom 6 minutes the entire year on a stacked team and was only able to manage 2 goals and 5 assists the entire season. He was not a liability, however; finishing with a +12 rating. Again his hard hitting, hard nose type of play is what made him stand out with over 200 hits on the season finishing just outside the top 10 in the league, despite playing half the time of the rest of the players on that list. Mississauga finished first in the league as expected but unfortunately fell flat in the finals against Detroit's old team, the Marauders out of irony. It wasn't a great year for Vinny but his heart wasn't set on playing in this league. WILL HE PLAY IN THE VHLE? No. ON TO THE VHL Mr. Detroit has always had his heart set on playing in the big leagues as soon as he was drafted. Skipping the VHLE was no question and only few players would be able to do it, with just 3 doing it this year. Vinny had no idea what would happen going into the draft, despite being one of the hardest training players in the entire class, mocks had him falling out of the first round just because of his style of play, with no faith that he could develop his game further. The draft came around and name after name was called, players with much less calibre to Vinny, but eventually at 9 his name was called to the Seattle Bears, a franchise that has had unparalleled success in the past 10-15 seasons. The GM reached out and couldn't believe that he had fallen that far and that they were stoked to have him, and the feelings were mutual as Detroit couldn't be happier to join such a storied franchise. Expectation for Detroit this season are low, he has a long way to go on developing his game in all aspects except physicality, you can expect him to be THE hardest hitting player in the entire league as soon as he plays his first game. Players will learn his name fast and we'll just have to wait and see if the rest of his game can develop accordingly.

It's only been one season but it feels good to be back in the VHL. Since I retired Mitchell who I was bored of anyways, I haven't really cared about my player through the entirety of the VHLM. We'll see how we go but I'm excited for a new start with a new player on a new team. Detroit won't be putting up any stellar numbers or anything this season but I am pumped to see how he performs and if 99 checking can be effective or not. I want to thank Bana for picking me and having faith in my player while other GMs passed on me even though I was first in TPE at the time of the draft. It's their loss and Detroit will prove that to him over his career. Bears might not be the best team this season on paper, but they've shown again and again that they are always on top, let's wait and see what happens this year, let's fucking go.
