  1. Draft night is always a memorable time for players and is a huge stepping stone for their career. More importantly for a struggling franchise, it is a way to strengthen their team without chasing around free-agents. Yet this year for the VHLM, we saw all three of the bottom teams unable to participate in both the first and second rounds of the draft. We have both the Hounds, and Wild having their first few picks in the thirds round, using them to select a solid pool of prospects. They are hopeful that in the following years that their picks will develop into solid players that can help them contend. Yet despite this, we then have Halifax, whose first pick was in the 5th round. All of their picks this season were considered "development pieces," but it brings up the major question of can these prospects consistently improve day in and day out. For next season they most likely will have a minimal impact, but only time can tell how this draft and picks might pan out for these 3 franchises.

    1. What are your thoughts on Minnesota winning the cup?

    2. What are your thoughts on the Hounds performance last season?

    3. Who are some players you would have drafted?

    4. Do you want anything in particular from this upcoming season?

    5. Who are some people that you'd like to see come to Mississauga?

    6. Favorite kind of pizza?

    1. Very unlikely, but who knows? Maybe the sim gods will be nice this year.

    2. Not great season, also wasn't able to get any high draft picks for this year.

    3. At pick 25 it would be good to have Kazimir Komarov or Tomothe Dylansen.

    4. Wanna be on a playoff contender and get at least 40 points.

    5. Not particularly, but any help is good for the team.

    6. Chicken BBQ

  3. After a hard-fought 6 game series, Moscow is now the VHL champs of season 70. Moscow started the series slowly, only scoring 3 goals within the first 3 games (one of them being a shutout). Despite falling behind early in the series, trailing 2-1, Moscow found a groove in the last three games. Both games 5 and 4 had Moscow score 11 goals in total, completely breaking through Calgary's so far stellar defence. With the end in sight, Moscow was able to claim the coveted title of league champs in game 6, winning 2-1. In the playoffs leading up to the championship series, Moscow didn't encounter much resistance as they blew through the opposition, their only other loss coming from the Riga Reign. Leading Moscow through the playoffs this year was Jet Jaguar and Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen. Each of them hitting point totals of 21, through 15 games. Not far behind them was Randoms, with 19 points. This win also wouldn't have been possible without a stellar goalie in net. Raymond Bernard led the entire playoffs in Save % and GAA. Although some put his performance as a result of the stacked defensive core that Moscow has. Nevertheless, Moscow are now league champs and it's time for celebration.

It's a new week and the start of a new off season! Answer three for 1 TPE or six for 2 TPE!

    1. Who do you think the Hounds should draft with their first pick? (Around pick 25)

    2. What do you think the keys to Mississauga's success will be this season?

    3. Who do you think will go first overall in the draft?

    4. If you are being drafted, at what draft position do you think you will be? If not, where do you THINK you would be drafted?

    5. Berocka and I are making you dinner. What would you like us to cook?

    6. What would you like for dessert?

    1. At pick 25 I believe that Kazimir Komarov or Tomothe Dylansen would both be solid picks.

    2. They would need to sign or trade or a couple of top player to make a playoff push. Mainly they need to find a solid offensive core to score points for them.

    3. Joe Proto is almost the guareenteed 1st pick although some teams may prefer Zyrok if they're looking for a Dman.

    4. Hopefully I can be drafted somewhere late in the first round, maybe early second.

    5. Steak and grilled asparagus

    6. Ice cream

wow this is actually pretty fire. IDK if it needs the VHL logo cramed in there on the Wolf's dick, but I think it could use a 'vancouver' sub-text.

I checked out your IG, you're pretty talented at drawing IMO.  What kind of setup do you use to draw digitally? like a drawing tablet? Are you just self-taught/practised or did you take drawing classes?

Haha Thanks! Currently I use the xp-pen artist 12 graphics tablet connected to my macbook. The software I use is called Sketchbook Pro which is completely free. And I'm self taught.

  6. If the VHL was to expand where would it go? A hallmark of a successful sports league is its ability to expand to new locations and establish a wide fanbase throughout the world. So now looking at the VHL, with 70 years of history where are some possible expansions that the league could establish teams in?

My first guess would be Hamilton (South Ontario). Firstly, they already have a rich hockey history. From 1920-1925 they had a professional team (Hamilton Tigers) that competed in the NHL. Unfortunately due to players strike the team eventually folded. Since then, the city has repeatedly tried to get an NHL team back. This would be a perfect situation for the VHL to establish a team there and gather up fan support before the NHL can. They also have had an AHL team (Hamilton Bulldogs) playing there since 1996. The city also already has FirstOntario Centre, a pro arena that would allow a team to begin operations immediately. Hamilton would also benefit from playing in the underrepresented Southern Ontario area and could even draw fans and media attention from the nearby Toronto Area.

  7. 1.  Wasn't here for long, if fact didn't play a single game but found that the others and staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

    2. If management makes the right decisions and brings in some new promising players then I can see the Hounds making the playoffs.

    3. I want to contribute to a playoff contender and hopefully have a large impact on my team.

    4. If he stays in the VHLM I think Gabriel Gutzwiler has the chance to become the best player in the minors.

    5. Mississauga is a small town next to Toronto on the coast.

    6. Minnesota looks like the team to beat in this year's playoffs.

Thanks for the offer! I have a few questions though. If I do sign with you I won't get entered into the vhlm draft anymore to my understanding right?

  10. The HOF is the greatest honour a player can have bestowed upon them. Only the best of the best can make it and Smitty is one of those legendary figures in hockey. Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen has been in the VHL for 6 full seasons now and is almost a guaranteed lock for HOF in the future when he retires. Over those 6 seasons, he has accumulated point totals of 413 points (100 G/313 A). Furthermore is +/- is no slouch either, clocking in at a solid +127, showing how capable he is in his defensive end. Not only that but he has been a nightmare for opposing players to play against racking up an additional 1201 hits. Smitty is an extremely unique defenseman as both his skating and hands are some of the best in the game, surpassing many forwards. These stats along with him winning the Jake Wylde Trophy and Alexander Valiq Trophy each once and the Sterling Labatte Trophy twice should cement his place with the all-time greats.

  11. 1. It's a big step up from the previous minor hockey that i've played but im excited to be signed or drafted to a team.

    2. So far i haven't been here long enough to see any major problems.

    3. Haven't read it yet but will soon,

    4. To be drafted or signed to a team where i can contribute and hopefully get to playoffs with.

    5. My favourite to win the cup is Ottawa.

6c. If a GM was to sign me to their team they can expect a fast center that's able to get some energy into the lineup and help with shooting.
