Tbf the E commies just finished the images for the portal slots this past season/offseason. It took 10 seasons to make the graphics for their awards, idk if I'd put it on Josh. And I love yelling at Josh to do portal things

Recapping Which VHL Team's Have Had An Interesting Off-Season
Spartan replied to MubbleFubbles's topic in Media Spots
Giving the goalie a bonus doesn't take away from the rest of the team going over 42 million, correct. -
I'll counteract that by publicly stating I'm looking forward to playing in the E with my recreate and not skipping it this time. I think the team brandings are neat outside Yukon and I'd be happy to play for really any of the GMs there
-
Yeah I'm not that good with it lol. I reach out to those I'm realistically interested in, but I haven't sent those generic copy paste questions in a while now. I try to have a chat instead which is much more satisfying and personal. Props to you for talking to everyone tho

I had to make sure ours stayed nice and safe

Obviously this is going to be a contentious topic. @jacobcarson877 just wrote an article about his issues with it, or its shortcomings at least. The E had a stated purpose, but is it really meeting that purpose anymore as of S88 going into S89? I have some massive issues with the E here and some of it stems from today. Anyways, the title and preview is just a bit of bait for some clicks. I don't actually have it out for the E. What I do have it out for are GMs who don't do their jobs. I'll be straight up and say there are plenty of things I don't do well myself. I forget to give bonuses to prospects, my check-ins are sporadic at best, if they even happen at all, and I simply can't win a cup. So I know I have my own issues and shortfalls as a GM and person. But holy FUCK do some of you need to put in some more effort in scouting. How are we a sim league and I hear that only 3-4 VHLE and VHL GMs COMBINED reached out to first/second round prospects, if they even reached out at all. This league exists for the experience of our members, and most people I spoke to this pre-draft process said only 2-3 teams including Moscow spoke to them between the E and the VHL. And I reached out over the weekend to most! I really don't know what's going on with some of our GM's but it's pretty embarrassing that some folks draft people well within their projected range without speaking to them. I selected a guy who wasn't spoken to by a single VHLE GM. If we don't step up our efforts, I don't know what some of us are getting out of this role. Dunno what competition there'll be in the VHL if prospects lose interest by the time they're drafted since no one's communicating with them. Anyways I put this in the Thunderdome since I know I don't have the complete picture and am not offering 100% factual info. But the trend points towards the majority of VHL and E GMs not putting in the effort to get to know prospects, and the lack of effort is noticed by those eager prospects.

Listen man, I like you as a person and I'd have drafted you at like 12 (even after reaching out to scout you) if you were still there, just for the potential if you do stick around. But there's no world where you post some obscure status message saying "don't scout me" after stepping down from the M, then decline to talk to GMs unless they're willing to risk you walking after your ELC, and also offer no easily accessible, public information on your player's future earning/build plan and then expect NOT to fall. Maybe the GMs who didn't reach out to anyone would be fine with it, but obviously not the teams who picked in the top 6/7 who did scout around.

Damn, battle of the goalies for gold. Congrats Canada!

Hello! Thank you to all who participated in last season's rollout of Super Coach! I'm very excited to have seen the positive reception to a new fantasy option, and I'm looking forward to running it again this season. Once again, please direct your praise to @Berocka for coming up with the idea and fleshing it out! For an update on the rules, please refer back to the details in the S88 post here: I should really update the actual rules post huh...something for another time. Submission Deadline: After first VHL sims on Friday, June 16th Link to Team Builder (Instructions on the first tab): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1z-I51_MX_UFoc4FKA2UbbTi_iuoAcXwkMAsUOFYTxds/edit?usp=sharing Fill out the form below to enter:

Presser for June 12th week! 1. The VHL draft was Sunday night, and with our top selection, we chose RW - Jeff Lewis @nerji. What do you have to say to welcome him to the team? 2. We traded away our second first round pick to Malmo in exchange for a S91 1st and S90 2nd. What are your thoughts on that trade? 3. Is there anyone from the S90 class that stands out to you as someone you'd like Moscow to draft? 4. Training Camp is approaching a close - what skills did your player focus on? 5. The season starts this Friday. How excited are you to get going?! 6. WRONG answers only - if @AW13 was a musician that traveled the world to perform, what instrument would he be playing and why?

Hello, it's me again! Earlier this offseason, @Gustav and I announced a rule change that redefined an "active" player in the VHLM. At the time, we had a few other rule changes being discussed that needed further deliberation and fleshing out. We're now ready to announce two more changes this offseason: Regulating VHLM Player Retirement and Subsequent Re-Creation Recently, the VHLM has seen a few instances of a VHLM player retiring and then subsequently recreating with a new player. The VHLM currently does not have any rules that cover this area, but we have encountered situations that do not follow our expected competitive integrity for the VHLM. We are adding the following rules to the rulebook: Capping VHLM Player Career Lengths For as long as I've been in the VHL, I can remember a career VHLM player existing at some point or the other. There's various valid reasons that a user could prefer to stay in the VHLM for longer than the typical 1-3 season period - some of which we're very proud of. Great team cultures, friendly environments, and user comfort are all reasons that users tend to hang out or revisit their old VHLM stomping grounds. However, it's been apparent over time that VHLM "lifers" pose their own issues to the league. Certain teams often receive 5+ seasons out of a single player, showing a lack of competitive integrity (yes, still important in a development league to prevent abuse of rules). In addition, high TPE lifers are taking valuable minutes away from the targeted demographic of the VHLM - the new users and players. In order to prevent abuse of the lack of rules surrounding these areas, the VHLM is taking a step alongside the VHLE to make a shift to VHLM and VHLE eligibility. Currently, a VHLM player will remain in the VHLM until they cross 200 TPE at an offseason cutoff (or spend over 200 TPA after an offseason cutoff). We are hereby instituting a 4 post-VHL Draft season maximum - any active player at or under 200 TPE after their 4th post-VHL Draft season will then be moved up to the VHLE where they will follow the appropriate VHLE procedures for Free Agency. 4 post-draft seasons were chosen as they would typically signify the completion of the standard 3 season rights period after being drafted with 1 or 2 buffer FA seasons for any edge cases. This should allow the majority of the VHLM population to graduate naturally without any issues. These changes will go into effect immediately - any VHLM player in the S85 class or older will be moved to the VHLE. - @VHLM Commissioner Tagging those involved/impacted: @VHLE Commissioner @VHLM GM @VHLE GM

Part 5 cant remeber what i made long time no see of that part

Yes, a fair value trade for a GM player will usually be accepted. It can still happen now. This is a bit of a gray area, but the real issue is abusing the rule to pay the least in assets for your player.
-
For those not in GM chat, this trade was vetoed by the Commissioner's. Trading for a GM's player for below market value is an abuse of the rule that states GM's cannot sign their own players in FA.

Hi all, Due to an extremely busy summer work schedule that would prevent him from properly fulfilling the duties of his role, @badcolethetitan is stepping down from his position as Mexico City GM. He has done an excellent job in this position, and we're very sad to see him go. We hope that he returns to the M as a GM in the future and wish him the best of luck with his VHL career. We're extremely appreciative of the strong candidate pool we received for the Miami and Saskatoon openings, and have decided to select someone directly from that pool due to the time sensitivity of this position with the VHLM draft on Friday. We're excited to welcome a former GM back to the ranks: Looking forward to the draft this Friday and the upcoming season! - @VHLM Commissioner
