Yeah won't lie, I have checked in on this game a grand total of twice. VHL offseason with having a busy weekend didn't help. For what it's worth, my role is dull enough to not have to send in night actions unless I really feel like it. I suppose being quiet has helped since I forgot to send anything in Saturday night (N2?). So I'll leave it at that and will try to be a bit more attentive now. We've lost a lot of folks yeesh.

Hello all, Now that we're in the offseason, @Gustav and I have a fairly minor VHLM rule change to announce. However, it does affect one of the core eligibility criterion of the VHLM, so it deserves a formal announcement. Currently, the definition of an "active" player in the VHLM is as follows: While we strive to give every member a quality VHLM experience, we've realized that a portion of this definition allows for behavior that we feel is counter to the purpose of the VHLM. The minors are meant to engage, retain and above all, develop players so that they are prepared for the VHLE and the VHL. Currently, posting on the forums counts towards activity - so a player can choose not to earn any TPE at all as long as they're somewhat around the forums. This will be changing to the following: Essentially, the change eliminates forum posts as "activity" in regards to remaining on a VHLM roster. We strongly encourage all VHLM players to never stop earning to stay down intentionally, so players must update to remain eligible to play. This will help nudge players to continue earning and updating, and closes a potential loophole. - @VHLM Commissioner @VHLM GM - for awareness

There's been discussions and discourse in the past about the mod team owning all VHL/E/M servers, and that's something that many people (including myself) were strongly against. No one should have to feel like they're being watched 24/7, including within any private channels that may have strategic or unique discussions. Also the last times it came up were in response to someone getting punished and then deleting their LR (accidentally in one case), so in the vast majority of instances there are smooth transitions. I won't speak to the VHL or E, but Gus and I could speak to the M GM's and see if they want to have a new "VHLM Commish" account own all the LRs and just keep that login info somewhere in the VHLM Commish subforum.

As of yesterday, I have GM'd the Moscow Menace for 12 seasons. That's 2 years and about 2 months. Today I just happened to look at the GM stats for Moscow thinking I'd probably be somewhere around @Victor's tenure, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that I have exactly matched the old geezer for tenure length. So what better to do than to compare us two as GMs, the teacher (of sorts) and the prodigy (I'm stretching it here). As the table above shows, I'm simply better than Victor in every aspect of the regular season. My win % is better at all levels, regulation, overtime and shootout. I enjoyed the meta era of high scoring so my GF is significantly higher, but somehow the GA is just 7 goals apart. So defensively I suppose we were a bit better, but I never had to take over Moscow as an expansion franchise as Victor did in the S60's. This is where it gets painful for me. Pretty much still better in the playoffs, a better W/L ratio, GF/GA ratio and more playoff appearances/games played. But as we all know, I have no cup wins. Victor has 1. Not much better but I'd be happy with 1, so he gets the better of me there. At this point, it's not an accomplishment for anyone to have more cups than me. Fuck off. I'd break down awards earned for the franchise as well, but the insane Moscow stretch from S74-S76 easily puts that into Victor's hands. 24 earned for Moscow under my tenure (before S88 awards are voted on), 41 under Victor's tenure with an insane 21 during that S74-S76 time period. Between Mikko Lahtinen and Roque Davis with some sprinkles of Jacob Tonn and Vladimir Pavlov, Victor's lead on Moscow awards was basically entrenched firmly. And the final thing of stats I can find, we're nearly pretty even on trades too. 50 for Victor, 56 for me. Turns out I just made playoffs one more time than he did, but my playoff streak is longer than his ever was with Moscow since we've made it 9 consecutive seasons now (I think). And he has 1 more top GM award than I do. Such is life. TL;DR: I win more games in playoffs/regular season but he wins more awards (Lahtinen carried) and cups (by 1).

This is certainly a trade and a half that I didn't remotely expect to happen a few days ago Appreciate the chats @Acydburn, glad we could get you on Prague while giving everyone what they wanted....cap space, contending pieces, positional needs, etc. It wasn't fun to trade away @Insypher away the first time, not any easier the second time. You're always welcome in the LR and I hope you stick around. Always a thrill chatting Pens with you . Enjoy Prague, great people there (except Sam). Super thrilled to bring @AW13 back after Lexi Glass was great for us back in the early 80's. Excited to bring my other exceptional teammates from last season @DMaximus and @Jason kranz on board as well. Love the makeup of this team and the talent we have now!

S88 Commissioner's Cup (Credit to @Zetterberg) Hello! After 17 seasons since the last Commissioner's Cup, @Gustav and I have finally revived the little-known tournament that has already shown to be plenty of offseason fun. For those who may never have seen this before, the Commissioner's Cup is a battle between the two VHLM Commissioners - each commissioner drafts a team of any 12 forwards, 6 defensemen and 2 goalies who played in the VHLM that season. The competition will be a best of 3, and in a special twist, we'll be simming on STHS Version 2.0 which is sure to provide plenty of wacky and absurd moments as it is absolutely not balanced whatsoever.
