Simon gave us a taste of what it's like to have a goalie and then took it away on every elimination game. GG Davos

I was gonna say good start, but then I looked at the Prague games. The Moscow special, give your opponents all the power play opportunities in the world until they win.

Tags the wrong person LMAO. Congrats to @jhatty8 though!

Believe it's all the folks who picked Wumbo as their goalie, you can check the rosters in the thread linked at the top. Maybe 2-4 people?

I have it as counting as there's no clean way to exclude him without manually overriding the template and just excluding that one datapoint from the percentile calculation. Its either that or deleting his calculation entirely, but after how some backup goalie and ineligible players got picked this season and errored out, I left all those calculations in. So there are those teams that ended up bumping folks up into a percentile bracket, unfortunately he's a team that bumps a few people down one.

Because I'd like people to sign up during the 4-7 day period that sign-ups are open and not have to scramble to get waitlisted people into a group after drafts begin. Depending on the timing as well, someone joining late may get the "bonus" of seeing sims occur and then get to pick using information the rest of the group didn't have when starting their drafts. Edit: Was pointed out to me that sign-ups for S88 were just 3 days, which I will be more mindful of in the future to ensure it's at least 4 days.

Another presser after forgetting a week, whoops 1. It's been a tough week in the EU with the standings going all over the place. Moscow is currently in 3rd place, but London is within range with games in hand, and even the wild card teams have a chance to catch up if we don't perform well. How do we hold our non-wild card playoff spot? 2. As it stands now, we'd play Davos in the first round. How do you think we'd fare against them in a playoff series? 3. Is there any team in the VHL, NA conference teams included, that you wouldn't want to play in the playoffs? 4. Helsinki might be one of the most shocking rollercoaster teams this season, going from dominating the EU at the start of the season to fighting for a wild card spot. Do you think they'll make the playoffs? 5. Our very own Ronan Lavelle leads the VHL in points, with Tomas Sogaard close behind in 3rd. Do you think it's likely that a Moscow player finishes the season in first for points? 6. Do you think any of your prediction picks look like they'll hit? Which ones?

I don't recall if I posted the new Ghost single as a VHL.com article yet, but this song is clearly the bigger banger. It has a breakdown too, check it out if you like MCR-esque metalcore with a 100 gecs infusion. VHL-wise things feel fairly slow, which is nice and also tough. There's minimal drama which is nice to not deal with, but also means there isn't nearly as much content to read. Sometimes I forget that I have to update in a week which is scary, potentially missing out on free TPE that I'll sorely need if I'm to catch the TPE record that Xavier Booberry will set. But it's very nice to be taking more time away from the VHL to do different things, and spend them with people I enjoy being around in my life. I've had a lot of Korean and Chinese food in recent weeks which has been great. H-mart food courts slap. Moscow stays chugging along, praying for some consistency in net. Matt Murdock was the easiest RotY pick last year in a while, but this season seems to feel like the Sophomore slump has hit extra hard. I've never seen a goalie take such a hard regression, except maybe Clueless Wallob last season. Maybe Murdock will be fine next season then, but we'll see what Moscow's roster even looks like next season. Prague is chilling at the top of the EU, looking to secure the top seed for the playoffs. Nico and Jameson have gone a bit quiet the past few sims which hasn't been pleasant, but the team has done well as a whole so maybe the second line is just saving up for the playoff push. Hopefully all goes well!

I have a Major problem with how the VHLM waiver system works
Spartan replied to nurx's topic in Media Spots
Just to clarify, you're saying it's fine to assist new members proactively and reach out to do so which I agree with. However I think what the GM's are asking is if they can insta-DM a create and tell them to sign with their team. While it's not necessarily illegal, it's exactly what we wanted to stop with the new waiver system that didn't require people to be online and around 24/7, it's just unhealthy. Some GM's may have a lot more free time, that makes it unfair to other GM's who have less time. Not sure if the different question interpretation changes your answer. -
I have a Major problem with how the VHLM waiver system works
Spartan replied to nurx's topic in Media Spots
You're not obligated to do so, but if you'd like to reach out to myself or Gus to let us know more about this, we'd try to funnel the info into meaningful monitoring and guidelines for GM conduct. There's not much we can do when things happen in DMs out of our sight unless we're informed about it. -
Goddamn it, not making the TPE record chase easy huh . I figured it'd be the case, will have to do the same next season!

I have a Major problem with how the VHLM waiver system works
Spartan replied to nurx's topic in Media Spots
Odd place to see some of these concerns since it's not my DM's or the GM chat or subforum. But whatever, I'll address some of them because I don't mind public feedback and other opinions too since the M is ever evolving and adapting to community needs. The M is a development league first and foremost. At the same time, I believe (as do others) that competition can work alongside the engagement and retention goals of the M. I see first gens who joined the league this season eagerly rooting on their teams and playing up the competitive aspects of the league. However, Gus and I recognized that the balance between being a development league and allowing competition was lopsided and introduced draft pick trade limitations to try and correct that. Outside the initial adjustment period, I haven't heard any concerns about the current rules since every team has at least 3 picks in the top 4 rounds of every draft. I hear consistently from GMs that the parity in the league now is appreciated since seasons aren't over for teams before they even start. Waivers wise, I personally don't think activity matters much since it's not like they're asking around the league about who's active unless they were recruited by a friend. In the one situation above about a player being told to walk away from one team, it's been made overtly clear to all GMs that if they're involved in a similar situation in the future, there will be harsh consequences. I wouldn't be opposed to chatting with mods/Blues on receiving the ability to penalize non-management users who "tamper" players away from teams they initially intend to join. Anyways that's a general response to the thread, I'll answer specific questions or address specific concerns if there's anything else in mind as well. -
Super tough even with bracket changes and cap increase to spend 6 million or whatever after retention on a player with no passing or scoring (in STHS) but then also has max puck handling. I've never had that type of player, but just thinking about how the sim works, I'd expect he wouldn't make any proper breakout passes or maintain possession. Maybe skate out of the defensive zone and then just lose possession? Pure defensive defensemen with no PA or SC is just super tough to really do anything productive. Other defensive minded folks at least also prioritize some passing or scoring like Nesbitt on PRG, I think that's just the concession you have to make if you want to be defensive with STHS.
