Jeb: An Amish Rookie Experience The journey from the small island nation of St. Lucia to Malmo, the 3rd largest city in Sweden has been nothing short of amazing for Jebediah Big Ol Doinks in Amish. That journey consisted of a one year stint in the VHLM playing for Houston, as well as another year spent in the VHLE playing for Bratislava. Jebediah himself doubted if he would ever make it to the VHL, but here he is, he made it. Jeb started his career on a very good Houston team where he soaked up as much knowledge from the better players around him in order to progress his career as fast as possible. They welcomed him with open arms and the team performed amazingly in the regular season, but lost their momentum in the playoffs. This first introduction to the rookies that he would eventually be playing against for seasons to come really motivated Jeb to train as hard as possible and try to stand out from the pack as much as he could. This hard work did not go unnoticed, and when the VHL draft rolled around the Malmo Nighthawks took a chance on Jeb by drafting him in the 1st round. The Nighthawks calling his name took him by surprise, but it also motivated Jebediah more than anything had in his career so far. Another development year was spent in the VHLE, where the same steady progression was made and Jeb continued to hone his craft. Ultimately, no huge amount of success was found by either team Jeb played for, but that did not bother him in the slightest. Every single thing that he did, was working towards that ultimate goal of playing in the VHL. And finally, he's made it. That familiar feeling of being a rookie remains. He has been the new guy for three seasons running on three separate teams. But he's finally at a place he can call home. There will be no one season and done for Jebediah in Malmo. He joins the team with a burning drive to be a player that his coaches, his teammates, and his fans can be proud of. For now, the focus remains the same as ever. Improve as much as possible, as quickly as possible. The jump from the development leagues to the VHL is a big one, and it will be a bit of a baptism by fire as Jeb has never shared the ice with skaters so talented. In his mind, just keeping up with the pace of play and not being a burden for his teammates to cover is the bare minimum. The main goal is to be as defensively sound as possible. There will be mistakes made along the way, but the hope is that the positive impact outweighs the negative. Any amount of points he manages to pick up will be a bonus. The team will always come first in Jebediah's mind and he intends to show them that he can hang with the best of the best.

welcome back just in time for a new season!

2nd week claim

i am still kind of shocked that i applied for, and got the gm job for the mexico city kings. it's kind of crazy that things would end up coming full circle like this. the first team i was gm for, a place where i feel like i can always call home. and now it's like i'm starting that journey all over again! i do feel like i kind of rushed into it without putting much thought, but i've always operated on a strictly vibes only agenda. having said that, i intend to get stuck right in and get myself back up to speed as soon as possible. luckily i have been the humble servant of rory in bratislava and don't have too much to catch up on. i'm really excited to get to work with the first gen players of current day. while we may not be hitting the recruiting highs of peak lockdown days, there are still some solid members joining the league. i intend on trying to foster a team environment that encourages new players to get fully involved with the league and really explore what the vhl has to offer.

Bratislava Watchmen Press Conference Week Ending 10/29 training camp edition! 1. Welcome back to the returning players, and hello to all the new faces! Are you excited for the team's chance at success this season? 2. What is the first thing you always do upon returning to the arena after a long off-season? 3. Did you purchase any new equipment heading into this season? If so, what is it? 4. What is your go to breakfast meal? I want to know what gets your day off on the right note. 5. Are you a fan of rainy days? Or would you just rather the weather be nice all the time? 6. If you were a bird, what would be your favourite type of tree to perch in?

i am fresh out of stuff to write about as the typical off-season lull leaves all of us in a state of limbo. but i don't mind getting a couple weeks to really refresh and refocus myself for what lies ahead. having said that, there was some excitement to be had in the form of the vhle draft! 3ppao with muff attending in spirit did an excellent job of hosting the draft if i do say so myself. coming off a season where bratislava did our best to find some playoff success, there were some holes to fill, and i think we did a good job all things considered. mostly our draft was focusing on the future of the team, but we did make a stellar first round pick in fong's player mina. with the players returning, and prospects graduating we can still ice a pretty good roster. there always seems to be a lack of great defensive talent in the drafts. that meant we were just hoping the players we had our eyes on would still be available when it was our time to pick. not everything went our way, but it definitely could've been a lot worse.

Bratislava Watchmen Press Conference Week Ending 10/22 is anybody there edition? 1. Did you have any big emotions once it became time to clean out your locker for the off season? 2. If you could add a single thing to the locker room, what would it be? It could be something as simple as a picture of a cat in a spacesuit. 3. Would you rather watch a sunset or sunrise? Why? 4. Do you keep your personal space exceptionally neat and tidy, or do you have a bit of clutter going on? 5. If you had to choose between having cold feet with no option for socks or you just had wet socks, what would you choose? 6. Are you a fan of sweet snacks? What's your go to snack? If you aren't a sweets enjoyer I still want to know your favourite snack!

the end of the most recent season was a bit of a slow fade away for jebediah big ol doinks in amish. his point production came to a screeching halt it seemed as the last few games of the regular season passed. once playoffs hit it was more of the same. in the back and forth seven game series against the rome gladiators jeb managed only three points! he was poised to set a new personal best for points in a season too with multiple games left and came up short, only managing to equal his previous best. off the back of that disappointing finish, jeb finds himself heading straight to malmo to integrate with his new team. a couple of trades have seen some familiar faces leave the locker room, and some new ones join, so there is plenty to talk about amongst the players. jeb will be keeping his expectations low going into his first season in the vhl. he intends to adjust as quickly as possible and then get his head down and work on becoming the best version of himself he possibly can. hopefully that brings along some success with it.
