  3. Omi Aberg's first season in the big league has started quickly and he has already played his first 36 games with Vancouver Wolves and they have been up and down. For the team, though this start to the season has been brilliant - first place in the North American conference and it seems like they haven't missed a stride. Wolves are trying to go back to back with championships and Aberg with his play in helping the team succeed. Omi Aberg this year was a really interesting prospect, he was the first-round pick, but he comes from a record-breaking season, where he was the first MVP of the newly created VHLE league. He was expected to be one of the points leaders of rookies, but knowing that he will be a big part of the contender, it is not surprising, that he is not getting those points that much. He is in 6th place in rookie points and the rookie with the most points is his Stockholm Vikings teammate Zach Kisslinger II, with who he has had quite a lot of history together. They were both tearing up VHLE together and were the cornerstones of regular season champions - Stockholm Vikings. In Vancouver, his role has dramatically changed compared to his days in Stockholm, where he was the leading offensive force, but here there are the Reinhart brothers, who are responsible for getting the puck in the net. Aberg is a typical two-way forward in Vancouver, where he tries to be in as many places as possible at the same time. He is a pretty important piece to the Wolves game because he is trying to keep the opponents from scoring and then running back to offense and trying to score on the other side of the rink. And he is being a pretty good player in his role right now. He has +12 plus-minus and 38 points in 36 games. Although he may not have as many points as other rookies, he is making his play stand on both sides of the ice. He has also earned coaches' trust with his hard work on ice to play him on the power play and there he has scored 2 goals too. As Aberg revealed, the coach also encouraged him to shoot more and it has shown in his game, where he is scoring a lot of goals. Omi Aberg has started his season well, but expectations were much bigger, but that doesn't change that Aberg had to transform his way of play, and also there are much bigger offensive forces in the team compared to other rookie teams and that could be the reason why the point total is quite a bit lower compared to the best rookies. But in the end leading in points won't mean too much if he is able to win the championship together with his new team and right now Vancouver Wolves are in a great spot to finish the season as the best team in the VHL!

  7. Today marked the first day for the training camp of VHL champions - Vancouver Wolves. The team has had few changes but one of the biggest - their first-round pick Omi Aberg has joined the team. Omi Aberg comes off a record-breaking season together with Stockholm Vikings, where Omi had the most points in the league in the regular season and helped push the team to first place in the regular season. He is also a former VHLM champion and will be trying to get a big role in the Vancouver Wolves team. Aberg was one of the hardest workers on ice and stayed on the ice after the team training to work on his game a bit more, as reporters have said. Omi knows that it will be harder to show the same numbers as in VHL because the competition is much harder, but his goal this season is really simple - work hard and be useful for the team.
  8. 1. What is your biggest regret in life? When I was younger, I didn't play any sports. I feel like I missed out of a lot of fun. 2. Do you think Vanny can repeat as champs? Hell yes, I am here now! 3. Do you think that Tyler Reinhart shoulda won MVP? I don't know, haven't really looked into it. 4. Have you ever played any sports and if so which are you best at. Well, looks like I see the future. Like I said, sadly nope. 5. Do you think we're better off with the VHLE or should we have just stuck with VHLM -> VHL? I enjoyed VHLE so I would say yes for VHLE! 6. What's your favorite type of pet? I am boring but I love cats and dogs. Personally, I have cat right now, but I love dogs equally as much as cats.
  9. Awesome read, it was easy to understand what you wanted to say and the paragraphs were really understandable and title lets me quickly understand what it will be about. I guess it bugs me a little that 1 title is red and other 2 are in green, but these type of things just annoys me. I like to see others breakdown trades and it's interesting to read what other people, especially players, thinks about this trade and what it can do for the team. I liked how you added something from yourself in every paragraph. 9.5/10
  10. Cool 500 word media spot , it was interesting to read about VHL related stuff from other viewpoint. Usually you can read player thoughts on media spot but this time it was from GM. It was interesting to read and I wasn't bored at all. You bonded all paragraphs nicely and it was logical to read. I learnt a lot about LA so that is really good too. Very interesting read and after reading it I felt like I know much more about LA. 9.5/10
  11. Omi Aberg after his hard work in Houston, Miami, and Stockholm finally will have his chance to show his talent in the big league - VHL. He has been scoring a lot of goals in VHLE and giving assists in VHLM but now he will have to transition his game to VHL where there will be just as and even more talented players than him. Omi Aberg has already requested extra training weeks for himself with coaches because he knows how hard it is to transition from playing with prospects to playing against matured superstars, that rarely have mistakes. Omi Aberg has always displayed very patience and game without any mistakes, but until now hardest players that he had to play against were his draft rivals, but now he will go against VHL MVPs. Vancouver Wolves will be trying to win the championship again, and if they want to do it again, they will have to bring something new to the table, and adding Aberg to the lineup will definitely help.
  12. 1. With our season ending, what was your favourite memory this past season? Starting the season slow and then we proved everyone wrong and ended the season as the best team in the regular season. 2. What is your final opinion on the E after playing here for a season? It's pretty cool, another stop in the road to VHL and I enjoyed it a lot. 3. What is one thing you learned about your player this season? That even if I don't train the hardest, I can be the best (at least in points). 4. If you could change one thing about your players performance in the playoffs, what would it be and why? I wanted to bring the scoring that I did in the regular season, if it would have happened, I think the result would have been different. 5. if you do decide to make another player after your current player retires, will you try to skip the E, or will you play here again willingly? 100% gonna play VHLE. I don't understand why would anyone want to skip VHLE. 6. How are you doing? I am fine, thanks for asking. How about you?
  13. Until the new league - VHLE - was created the usual path to VHL was simple. Two seasons in VHLM and you are in the big league with dangerous sharks, but now the road to glory is longer. Omi Aberg, a prospect from Islands, played his 2 seasons in VHLM but last year added another season in VHLE being a part of the newly created Stockholm Vikings. How impactful this change will be for prospects, only time will tell. One thing is for sure - everywhere where Aberg went, he has played very well and has been able to score a lot of goals and give a lot of assists. He was able to get 121 points in 70 games in VHLE so he is looking really ready for an eventual VHL debut with Vancouver Wolves, but the Wolves themselves haven't been doing too bad, they will be going in the next season as S80 VHL champions. How will Aberg fit in the team full of stars and established players, it will be a sight to see, but if Aberg can recreate even something similar to his time in Stockholm, then Vancouver Wolves will be even stronger than last season. Coming into the next season Omi Aberg will be #2 ranked C in the team, but Wolves could be looking to strengthen their team and contend for the championship for another season and it could change the situation with centers. Wolves are very young and this team will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come and hopefully, Omi Aberg will be able to find his place in the team and find a way to help his new teammates and team. There have been 2 long seasons since the draft when Omi Aberg was drafted in the first round by Vancouver Wolves, since then a lot of prospects have been declared as busts or some have even overperformed their draft pick, but Aberg, for now, hasn't been a bust and hopefully he will continue his great form in VHL. Omi Aberg working hard in the gym. This off-season Omi Aberg has been working on fundamentals. Aberg believes that his technicals are great and his points have been showing it, but the game is much faster and more physical in the big league, so that's why Aberg wants to be faster on the ice and be more generally tough. Aberg is a really hard-working player on the ice and off it too. He wants to leave everything on the ice and he will be the first one back on defense and the first one in the offensive zone, but in his VHLM seasons it was pretty easy to see that in the 3rd period Omi Aberg was fatigued and his stamina was not the best, but this year he has been working really hard on his stamina, but only playing in real VHL match will tell how hard he has worked this off-season and if he will have changed something in his game. His training looks impressive and hopefully, he will continue to impress his fans all around the world.
  14. D.C DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE For the week ending November 21st! 1. It's off-season time, how do you keep your form up in the off-season? 2. Which VHL player would you say is your rival or closest player to that? 3. Which VHL teams has loudest fans and most quiet fans? 4. What is the best lifehack you use during your everyday life? 5. What did you have for your lunch today? 6. Cats or dogs?
  15. Omi Aberg together with Stockholm Vikings is out of the playoffs. Last season Omi Aberg in his 2nd VHLM season won the championship together with Miami Marauders after getting traded from Houston Bulls. It was his 2nd VHLM season and he was able to win it. Now he was drafted by Stockholm Vikings and was a part of the historic first season in VHLE. Expectations for the playoffs were big after Vikings being first in the league in the regular season and Omi Aberg having the most points in the league, but sadly Vikings came up short in the first round against Vasteras Iron Eagles in 7 games. If Aberg would have won the VHLE championship, he would have had a chance to be the first player in the whole VHL to be a champion of VHLE, VHLM, and VHL, but now he won't be able to contend for the VHLE championship, because he has outgrown the league and next goal for Aberg is VHL!
  16. 1. We are currently tied 3-3 and force a game seven, what do you think we need to do to take the win tonight? We should have went out with more force and energy, but sadly we weren't in the right mindset. 2. If we go all the way and win the cup, what would it mean to you to become the first team to win in the vhle? If we would have done it, I would have won VHLM and VHLE championships already. Sadly it's impossible now, because I am leaving VHLE next season. 3. With it being the playoffs, does your player focus a bit more on hockey? Yeah, Aberg spends 24/7 of his life in playoffs with hockey, he watches videos with hockey tactics and he just tries to train as much as he can. 4. If we get eliminated what does your offseason look like? My offseason involves having talks with Vancouver, because it's time for me to come up to the big league. 5. Where would you go to eat to celebrate a big win? Somewhere where there are tasty sushi. 6. What is your favourite colour? Probably some of the autumn colours.
  17. D.C DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE For the week ending November 7th! 1. We have won the series against Chicago! What can you tell us about our next opponent - Vancouver Wolves? 2. Lester Green has stepped up in playoffs, having most points in the team. Who needs to step up in the next series to win over Wolves? 3. 5 of the 7 games in the 1st round with Chicago ended with 1 goal difference. Do you think it's a good thing we are keeping it close or bad that we can't pull away or get it done? 4. What kind of special power would you like? 5. Which celebrity would you like to spend your vacation together with and why? 6. Which Guinness record would you be able to break?
  18. Loved reading it, you kept me interested all the way through. This is some serious work and I know how hard those long writings come, but I feel like you did great with text formating and writing. Loved the picture and smalla annotation. Maybe for me there are a little too much colours but too much are better than nothing. Hope to see some more from you and keep these interesting media spots coming! 10/10
  19. Awesome original media spot, love the idea and love how you did it. It was interesting to read and I like when people try something new. It was easy and quick to read and there weren't any problems that caught my eye. Maybe some colour or picture, because there is just text. Great article and would love to read more from you! 10/10
  20. Omi Aberg has recently gotten an award for being a person of the year, sportsman of the year, and a few more awards in his home country. He has acquired these awards for like 5 years, mostly because there are not a lot of sportsmen in Islands, and the word "hockey" is not even understood, but Aberg with his great play in VHLM and VHLE has earned his title in his own country and when someone sees surname Aberg, they know that this man works hard and he doesn't give up. Next for Aberg is getting some awards in VHLE and hopefully winning the VHLE championship too. It will be a fun season end for Omi and after that off to VHL - Vancouver Wolves are waiting eagerly there. His road to the VHL has been longer than most of the other players, because of the newly created VHLE league, but because of this, he has been able to grow more and be a better hockey player.
  21. 1. We have secured first place in the league and we are the first team ever to do so we in the E, was this your expectation? We didn't start the season that well, so my expectations were not that high, but I am happy that we did it.2. Did you meet any individual goals this season? Well, I had the most points in the league so I guess I did.3. What do you think contributed to our regular season success? Our awesome teamplay, we really felt eachother on the ice.4. Do you think you’re making the jump up to the VHL after this season? Are you excited to do so? It will be fun, this road has been longer then other players but I am happy to finally make it.5. Who is your favourite hockey player of all time? I don't have really one favourite, but I really like Radulov, something about his playstyle and his missing teeth.6. Did anything change with your players training now that we are near the first ever VHLE playoffs? Just worked twice as hard as usual.
  22. Omi Aberg this season has had a record-breaking season, because as a part of the Stockholm Vikings team he got 121 points in 72 games and had the most points in the league, and will go down in history as the first league's points leader. Together with Zach Kisslinger II teared the league up, Kisslinger got 111 points and Aberg 121. Aberg also picked up 48 goals, which put him as tied 1st place in goals in the league, and even on assists, Omi Aberg finished the regular season with 73 assists and 3rd most assists in the league. Aberg has been really consistent and led the team together with Kisslinger to the VHLE playoffs as the 1st seed. Aberg can be very proud of his game and his teammates because Stockholm will go down in the league's history. But right now regular season is no longer in the heads of Stockholm Vikings players. They got bigger fish in mind - the VHLE playoffs and they are already underway. In the first round Stockholm Vikings are facing off against Vasteras Iron Eagles, another historic team in the whole VHL, but after dominant regular season it was expected that these series would be a walk in the park for Vikings, but after leading the series 2-0, Iron Eagles have found some kind of power and have climbed and fought back to tie the series up. Now the next game is going to be really important for both of the teams because the team that wins the next game is going to have a mental boost going into game 6 and it wouldn't be surprising to see if these teams go all the way to 7 games. One thing that has been pretty disappointing in the playoffs is how Aberg plays because his scoring is way down from his regular-season numbers. It's still good, but it's not comparable to the regular season where he had record-breaking numbers, mostly because it's the first season and all records are made from the start. But there shouldn't be a reason to worry about it, these last 2 games were not the best for Stockholm Vikings leaders Aberg and Kisslinger but now they will be really motivated. Aberg already won the VHLM championship and if he will win the VHLE championship too, the only championship to win for the old youngster from Islands will be the big one VHL championship. Omi Aberg has a chance to go down in history and his dream may end in the first round of the playoffs, but one thing is for sure - Aberg won't stop until he has won this championship and is going to be the hardest working player on the rink, just like he did when he played in Miami - he didn't give up and fought and fought until he won the championship and was able to get crowned as champion. One thing that motivates Omi Aberg is being the best, he wants to be better than his teammates, enemies, and other players. He will not stop until he is the best.
