  1. Existing players for the time being
  2. Last offseason, I hosted an offseason training tournament full of sims, with 2 teams and it was a blast. Everyone had a great time. This season, I am looking to expand to 4 teams. We need 6 Forwards 4 Defenders 2 Goalies If you are interested, reply with the following information and ping me Player Name Position VHL Team I will be leaving this open until Saturday, October 31st. I will pick the twelve players on that day. Hoping to see people interested! - PatrikLaine
  3. 1) I seen someone name their wifi "StopUsingMyWiFi" because people were probably tapping into it. 2) Everyone looks stupid during charades when they are doing the activity wrong 3) I do not know any phone passwords and I would not do anything rude with it. 4) I honestly have no idea. Probably the two all time leading goal scorers. That would be crazy. 5) Be nice to everyone 6) Nothing really scarred me as a kid Extra 6: 1) First round exit 2) Probably the Navy Uniforms we have here in Helsinki 3) "You are proof that god has a sense of humour" 4) Going to public schools? I don't really know anything because I am kinda young. 5) I saw a table made out of broken hockey sticks at Jiggs' place. 6) Me.
  4. Helsinki, Finland - After taking a 1-0 series lead with a tight 2-1 victory in Game 1, Helsinki looked to expand their series lead against Prague. In Game 2, they rode a big second period to a 3-2 win to take 2-0 lead in the series with a chance to wrap things up on the road. This win didn't come without a cost however. Rookie forward Patrik Laine left midway through the third period with an undetermined upper body injury after taking an open ice hit from Phantoms defenseman Riley Knight Gee. The 18 year old rookie had 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points during the regular season and has no points so far in 2 playoff games. He left the ice under his own power but the trainer was called out and Laine had to go through the concussion protocol. Laine had 2 shots blocks and 2 shots, good for a +1 rating in Game 2. An exact timeline is unknown, but Laine may be ready to jump back into the Titans lineup in Game 3 or 4 in their series against Prague (assuming it requires a 4th game). (191 words)
  5. This is amazing!
  6. We also have a lot of fun in the locker room and off the ice as well. Good times all around
  7. HELSINKI, FINLAND - The Helsinki Titans are in an interesting spot right now. The Titans are in the playoff mix late into the season, sitting at 4th in the European Conference and just one point ahead of the 5th place Prague Phantoms. Helsinki's GM, Jubo, has made some interesting moves as of late, such as going out and doing a 1 for 1 trade for Ola Vikingstad. However, when he changed the lines after that trade, all of his lines have began rolling. Patrik Laine in particular has benefited from this line change. He has goals in 4 of his last 5 and has 8 points in that span. "I mean it was a great move by Jubo to bring Vik in to fill that 2nd line center void that we've had. It's really worked wonders for me. I have been playing good defense all season long and now I think I'm beginning to finally find my stride." Despite his impressive performances as of late, including a 3 point night against Davos, he has been the subject of many trade rumours. "I really don't listen to that stuff. I guess when there is nothing else going on since the trade deadline is past, they need something to write about. I really don't care about trade rumours or contract discussions or anything right now. I'm just focused on putting this team into a playoff spot and we'll go from there." With only two years left on his deal, we asked Laine if Helsinki had contacted him about a new contract and what he thought of Helsinki "I mean, I've got nothing bad to say about Helsinki you know? It's been a good experience so far, but we just gotta keep playing because we have a job to do. In terms of a contract, we haven't gotten into contract talks yet but I think they will begin this offseason." We asked Laine the one big question, do you hope to stay in Helsinki? "Well you never know where you are going to play next year, it's still a business. Anything can happen and hopefully I have a team to play on next year. Again though, just focusing on these next 2 years of my contract and helping this team win." 377 words Mentioned: @Jubo07 @Dil
  8. 1. It was a sad day for me, I really liked him as a locker room guy. I gave him a big hug and wished him well. 2. I think he brings a lot. I've talked to him off the ice before, great locker room guy. 3. Probably when he took me in during the first day of training camp. Showed me the ropes, introduced me to the boys and was very accepting of me. 4. I can fight for a spot as a top line RW now, so I want to try my best to win that spot. 5. Probably a darker blue (like Winnipeg Jets blue) with a sword and helmet 6. Probably Venus Thightrap (@BladeMaiden) during the WJC last year. We play really well together, had a lot of fun in the locker room and off the ice. It would be awesome if she came to Helsinki.
  9. VHLM Club in Winnipeg plz
  10. Decided to do a Duo graphic for theme week @BladeMaiden
  11. Throwing my hat into the ring. I'd be down to make weekly Press Conferences and I can keep the locker room active.
  12. AGM Patrik Laine - Welcome to the official reveal of the Season 74 Team Europe roster! Management had a lot of talent at its disposal and it was hard to put a lineup together with so many good options. Nevertheless, we put together a team and are ready to compete! CENTERS: VENUS THIGHTRAP (@BladeMaiden) JULIAN NOUSIAINEN (@okochastar) RILEY COUTURE (@Riley_Couture) LEFT WINGS: ALOE DEAR (@Renomitsu ) LUKE THORNTON (@Jtv123) RYAN SCHWARZ (@Enorama) RIGHT WINGS: ONDE SANDSTROM (@fonziGG) LEXI GLASS (@AW13) JONAS STORMSSON (@Kyle) DEFENDERS: FAT PALLON (@UnkemptCL4PTP) EOIN BYRNE (@LatinViking) MARKUS SCHAUER (@Plate) KASPER KANKKUNEN (@ZP16) GOALIES: NILS FRIEDRIKSEN (@Biggreen10) SIRKANTS KLAMASTERIS (@hedgehog337)

  14. HELSINKI, FINLAND - The Helsinki has been struggling as of late, crawling to a 21-19-3 record through 43 games. Just barely good enough to hold on to the 5th spot in the European Conference. No one has been more vocal about Helsinki's recent shortcoming than rookie Patrik Laine. "It's f***ing frustrating. You play so well but the results just don't go your way. You can't score, you can't produce. It starts to get to you after a while. The only thing I have consistently done this season has been improving my defence. My offensive production has fallen off and as you can imagine, I'm pretty frustrated at this point." The 18 year rookie has potted 8 goals and 20 points through 43 games. However, the statistics have their shortcoming. 11 of those points, including 4 goals, have come on the power play. Not to mention that the rookie hasn't scored a goal in 12 games and has been pointless in his last six. His shooting percentage has also been abysmal, sitting at 6.9% on 116 shots. "I can't blame anyone on the team. We stick together through thick and thin and this is just another hill. I think I just gotta stay with it and eventually the results will come." 209 words
  15. Patrik Laine will now step up to the mic to answer questions: 1) I felt confident because we finished with back to back wins but we need to keep it going. 2) I talked to him just after he got the news. I was teammates with him in Miami last year too so I bid him farewell and wished him luck. 3) Collective defense. We've been allowing way too many shots. 4) Probably Vaak, he's got silky mitts so he could put one in the back of the net. 5) Probably Lacrosse. Helps with the practice of hockey. 6) Spaz for sure. It would be funny to see him up there.
  16. How did Steve get into Smash Bros?
  17. 1) Defensive play, I need to be better there. 2) Gretzky, he was something special. 3) Chicken and Pasta. 4) I bought a house and banked the rest of my money. 5) I like to play video games, but I mostly chat with my friends like Blade and Jiggs, and hang out with my teammates 6) Popcorn that is covered in butter, it's a classic.
  18. HELSINKI, FINLAND - The action around the VHL has started to heat up the last week. Malmo has emerged as one of the surprising frontrunners in the powerhouse European Conference, Vancouver taking a seven point lead with a game in hand on the second place Seattle Bears in the North American conference, and the slow start of the Helsinki Titans. Part of their slow start has been rookie Patrik Laine. Helsinki has stumbled out of the gate to a 16-10-2 record out of the gate and have gotten hot as of late, but their star rookie has been producing as advertised. Laine has only 7 goals and 13 points so far in 28 games to start the season, that would be all well and good but 4 out of his 7 goals have come on the power play along with 4 of his 6 assists. The kid has been a machine on the power play but a liability 5 on 5, which explains leaks that Helsinki is trying to rid themselves of Laine before this becomes a major issue. They recently switched him up to second line, and that move has worked so far. In 4 games on the second line, Laine has recorded 2 goals and 1 assist, all even strength points as well. While this second line experiment has worked so far, it is certain that Laine will be in trade talks for at least a few more weeks. 238 words, 1238 characters
  19. SHAW DIVISION PREVIEW It has been a little bit and the season is underway. However, we still will release our division previews. In this edition, we move into the Shaw Division of the European Conference. Helsinki Titans (49-18-5, Lost in Continental Cup Finals to SEA 4-2) Though Helsinki suffered a bitter defeat in the S73 Continental Cup Finals against the dynasty known as the Seattle Bears, Titans fans have a lot to be excited about. They still have kept most of the gang together with a few minor changes. Rookies Patrik Laine, Oh Sens and Calvin Harvey are all coming up from the VHLM this season, Helsinki stacked their pipeline through the draft to aid an aging defense core and signed Seabass Perrin in free agency to further solidify the defense. They are a surefire cup contender this season and I can see them going all the way. Malmo Nighthawks (35-30-7, Lost in Round 1 to HSK 4-3) Malmo is certainly a team on the rise. Their loss to Helsinki in 7 games last year was hard to swallow for many fans but many predicted the Nighthawks to not even make the playoffs, let alone beat Davos to qualify and push the Titans to 7. That core they established during the S73 VHL draft is starting to develop nicely, along with older picks such as Chris Hylands and Ray Sheilds beginning to hit their stride and Grekkark Gyrfalcon turning into the starting goalie Malmo desperately needed for many years. I can see them being a dark horse candidate at a cup run this year, but they are set up for many years of competing in the future. HC Davos Dynamo (35-31-6, Lost in Qualifying Round to MAL 3-2) Season 73 was a disappointing one for a lot of Davos fans, but their core is finally beginning to hit their stride with the likes of Robin Winter and SS Hornet blossoming into top forwards. Combine the development with rookie Chance Rust coming up and the signing of Four-Time Continental Cup Winning Goaltender Rayz Funk in Free Agency and Davos can actually make some noise this season. They could make a cup run, but I don’t see it. A deep run to the conference finals or further will give this team the playoff experience they need for the future. However, with the aforementioned Rayz Funk in the net, they have the piece in net that will allow them to go far. Go and do it, Davos. Surprise me. London United (23-47-2, Did not qualify for playoffs) Not much was expected of London during their inaugural season and rightfully so. Despite the abysmal record, there were a lot of positives. Rookie James Rose emerged as the absolute future of the blue line. They managed to snatch up 3 first round picks in the S74 draft and used those picks to get some solid pieces in Julian Nousiainen, Ryan Schwarz and Kasper Kankkunen. This season, they will see the emergence of their forward core. The main issue for them will be defense. Rose will be the only notable name on the backend while Kankkunen develops in the system along with other defensemen like Tim Kamashev and Tee Pee E II. Nils Friedriksen looks mighty lonely in net but Kevin Malone will be joining him next season. This looks like another basement year for London but it also gives their young forward core a nice year to settle into the VHL. However, with all that offensive firepower, they could be a dark horse wildcard team this season. I think missing the playoffs would be good as they can continue to build on the foundation they have set up here. Be on the lookout for the other two division previews coming from other VSN Writers! - VSN Writer Patrik Laine
  20. Claiming for a second week (Week of 9/27)
  21. Good to see you are alright @DreMin15
