The VHL is a constantly evolving entity. I’ve been here 11 years and I find it tough to think of many seasons where absolutely nothing was adjusted to continue improving. I doubt it will ever be fully complete and concrete.

Welcome to the VHL, For The Tutorial Video! We're happy to have you. You should have received a PM with some more detailed information, but to get started quickly you will want to head over to the "How to Create a Player" topic. That topic will offer you detailed information about how to use the VHL Portal to create your player and get you started. We also highly recommend joining the VHL Discord where there is a channel dedicated to helping new members with any questions that they may have about the league or improving their player. Once your player is made VHLM General Managers will be in touch with you about joining their teams. In the meantime, please feel free to ask any questions you have here or in your create-a-player thread. We're happy to have you in the community and we hope you stick around!

Honestly I haven’t spent more than 2 minutes on trivia in the last like 3 seasons and I haven’t gotten a question wrong. 90% of the answers can be found in the HoF section.

Calgary’s cap issues are becoming a littler clearer I imagine.

New Brackets & Cap Incoming This may seem like jumping the gun a bit but we want all players and GM's to be prepared when it happens. As those in the know are aware, the current Salary cap of $36 million was never meant to be permanent. It was put in while we adjusted brackets after having an extra influx of TPE from raising of the weekly cap. After much deliberation the new brackets and cap have been agreed upon and follow as such: Legend: 0-200: 1M / 1.5M 201-300: 1.25M / 1.75M 301-400: 1.5M / 2M 401-500: 2M / 2.5M 501-600: 2.5M / 3.5M 601-700: 3M / 4M 701-800: 3.5M / 4.5M 801-900: 4M / 5M 901+: 4.5M / 5.5M Salary Cap: $34 million Maximum contracts across the board stand as $6M for Rookie contracts and $9M for Prime contracts. Please note, however, that a maximum of $3M is available to players who have been drafted but are spending extra seasons in the VHLM. These changes won't be particularly important to many of you outright but we wanted to be clear about what's happening with them so that everyone on VHL teams, or those who are being drafted in the coming season, can be prepared. In light of these changes the league rule requiring that no salaries be decreased after they are accepted will be waived during the off-season, after the S62 Finals are complete, to allow teams to adjust their salaries accordingly with the new brackets. Accepting these changes falls under regular regulations for the players in question.

Just curious what different that would make? You’d still have to look up the answers (which takes about a minute) unless you’d just want to guess your way through.
-
So max defence and play on shitty teams?
-
Maybe if I get him in the hall people will finally learn how to spell his name.
-
That’s how 99% of my seasons go so I’m expecting as much.
-
Guarantee I won't. Even that "pace" only exists because I had like 20 points in 7 games. I imagine I'm slowing down now.
-
I’m on pace for 126 after getting 56 last season so hopefully I’ll fight you for it.
-
That’s been in for longer than I can remember, always fun the first time people find it haha

@Will deserved a star for this one.

What the fuckity fuck?

Last week this old man of the VHL complained about there not being jersey retirements anymore. I have decided to continue my tirade against things having changed and hopefully make a weekly Srticle out of it. Let’s call it, “Make the VHL great again”... except not really because that would make me hate myself. Anyway, this week I direct my question to the GFX community, and openly admit I’m part of the problem. As you’ve surely noticed, the VHL has 2 GFX forums. 1 for PT’s, and 1 for comments. This is because, back in olden times, almost every graphic that was made on the site was posted asking for “CnC” which means “comments and critiques.” Doing so allowed us to get opinions on our work and improve it which it greatly did if I’m being honest. Some of the best graphics to come out of the VHL happened between seasons 20 and 50. So what happened? If I were to make a guess, the main issue was the auto-6 rule came in. Don’t get me wrong, I agree we should have that rule. However before it existed a PT wasn’t automatically worth 6, it was graded so if it was bad you’d only get maybe 3 or 4 TPE for that PT. This means you wanted to make certain it was ready before you posted it which often meant asking for CnC beforehand sonyou could improve it. This creates good conversation as well as made us a better GFX community. So, the task I set forth this week is for the GFX community: Ask for comments, respect critiques, and improve. Reviews are fine but they are very much a 1 way street and don’t always happen in much of a timely fashion. You don’t necessarily need to put the advice given into the piece in question but remember it and use it for later. Together let’s make our graphics shine again shall we? I will do my part. Anyone who posts a graphic (and please note This is where you want to post) and wants me to give them some advice, just tag me. I will do my best to respond to everything.

Ben Green Draft is complete

I would expect more points on 8 goals but I’ll never complain about a hat trick.
