  2. Colouring and text work really nice here. I also like the use of stocks and blur to create depth. My only really complaint is that I think the lighting could be a tad stronger to make sure the eye focuses on the render instead of the very bright text. Overall a very strong sig though.
  3. This doesn't feel quite complete to me. The contrast feels off, the colours don't really mesh, lighting isn't doing much. Curves and exposure layers will help make the right things pop and maybe try a different colour for the BG elements so that it doesn't clash quite as much with the render and text. Text itself isn't bad but maybe "chop" it if you know what I mean. basically take the top half of the work and move it over a few pixels from the bottom half to create a nice effect. Just to give it a bit more punch really.
  4. This is quite under-exposed which really just makes everything feel kinda flat. Get some curves layers in and play around with brightening the whites and darkening the blacks to create some contrast. I see you trying things with stocks but keep adding them and play with blending modes to see what works. Text needs to be lower and should never have a glow, it just makes it look very LQ. You're making strides tough, keep working at it.
  5. Don't be afraid to try some crazy stuff and see what works, this feels kinda blah at the moment. Going for a strong text can work out well but really commit to it, this kinda feels like you wanted it to be a focal point but then decided to crank it's opacity way down instead. If you are going to do that I want to see some normal text somewhere as well. Lighting doesn't really seem to exist and the colouring is a little off. Keep working at it, with practice comes perfection.
  6. A few too many lighting dots but honestly that's probably the biggest complaint I can come up with. The effects look nice, the refer looks great, the text is well executed. Overall a very well done piece IMO.
  7. I will not sue you. I will, however, say that this needs to be a bit longer as the canvas size feels kinda squished. The BG is also a tad dark for a clean look. Lighting on the render is very nice but a source could help. My main issue though is the text. It feels kinda slapped on and boring. Don't be afraid to have really vibrant text with a clean sig, it can work out a lot better than you expect it to.
  8. I like what you are going for here but I think there might be a few too many scan lines, I would like to see some of those cleaned up a bit. Text is okay but could use a bit of work in the effect department. The piece also feels a tad under-exposed so some lighting could really help it out.
  9. Lighting and colouring are great, effects are good. Text is decent but I think the subtext could go. Either that or maybe have it as a different font. Something about it just feels very off to me. The main text is pretty nice though and it's a good sig overall.
  10. The lighting and effects are seriously well done here, I think they look great. Where I think this is lacking is the text. Something about the effects just doesn't feel grungy and yet the text HEAVILY does which makes it feel a little off. Maybe try for a thinner, cleaner text and have the render lighting and effects really be the star of the show.
  11. Logo would probably look better behind the render rather than on top of it, would make it more of a BG element and less of a focal point. Good job on the blurring to make sure it doesn't stand out too much though. Your lighting is decent but this sig would have been a great candidate for a large light source in the middle and some really strong contrast which I think would have helped. I don't mind the text but it feels just a tad sharp. Overall not a bad piece but a few minor adjustments could help.
  12. As a rule of thumb when starting out, don't make your canvas size any larger than 400x200. Having so much room to fill makes it much harder to do so well. I'm not sure what's going on effect wise near the head of your render but it kinda looks like he has some flies buzzing around him. We should have some stocks in the resources section so I would grab them and play around with blending options to be able to do more with the BG. As with your other work, get the text closer to the render so it isn't as distracting. Even if it covers a bit that's okay.
  13. Colours are really all over the place here, try to stick with a pallet of 2-3 colours per sig so that my eyes know what to do with themselves. As 701 said the text is very bland and the positioning of it should be closer to the render so that it doesn't draw too much attention away. Check out some tutorials and keep working at it, everything comes with practice.
  14. I think you are selling yourself way short on this one, it's actually a pretty fantastic piece. The colouring is wonderful, the text is well executed, the render looks good. I think a bit of blending could help and also your light source appears to be on the wrong side. if you look at the render's face the right side (our right) is the bright area but your lighting source is on the left. Definitely a strong piece to be proud of though, well done.
  15. The aspects of a really good sig are here but a few pieces are missing. I think it's a little under-exposed and adding a curves layer could really help. I also think introducing another colour into the stock would might help blend the render a bit better. Text is okay but maybe try playing with different fonts and styles within the piece so that it doesn't feel as much like a solid wall of text. Overall, not bad, just missing a few pieces.
  16. Nice execution of B&W. I would like to see a bit stronger lighting on his face and his back darkened up a bit just to get a slightly nicer contrast but it's not too bad. Just remember that lighting in B&W is very important. Text is bold and strong but works here. I would like to see a little less of the squiggly line stock, especially around the face, but it's not too bad. Well done.
  17. This is solid but I have seen you do better. The BG stock work and render effects are fantastic but the text is really holding this back. I think it's because it's pure white but it looks slapped on whir everything else is blended so well. I think having some better text effects could really elevate this piece.
  18. I agree that the kerning could be a little tighter as the spacing does feel a little off but that's really the only complaint I have. Great stock work, great effects, perfect lighting. Well done.
  19. Very under-exposed. Get some curves layers in there and bring your whites up so that the entire sig doesn't look like it's in dense fog. Colours also clash quite a bit with a yellow jersey and blue text / stock work so try to work on changing either of those in the future so that things work better together.
  20. I like the idea but unfortunately I kinda hate the font which is a big aspect of this sig. The bubbly font just seems a bit cartoonish which works oddly with the very striking render. A bolder font would have helped I think. As for the aspects within the text, I feel like you should have gone more simple and allowed to text to really be the focus here. There's so much going on that my eyes are getting kinda lost in the jumble of stocks and logos.
  21. Render needs to be brought down a bit so less of his head is being cut off. Logo in the BG looks okay but I would like to see it blended a little more; especially since the blue doesn't really match well with the beige. Effects are okay but some exposure layers or curves would have helped blend everything in a bit. The lighting is a little strong but, at the same time, not actually affecting the render any. Make sure to have believable light sources as often as possible.
  22. Lighting on the render seems a tad strong and the text is very bright. However the effect work is absolutely stunning as usual and everything just works well. Well done.
  23. The effects you have built here are actually pretty strong and I see the making of a strong sig. However I think an exposure layer, some lighting, and a bit of selective blurring would have really made your focus and depth pop which would have turned this from a good sig into a great one. All the aspects are definitely present, just need to make them work together a bit more.
  24. I really would like to see some depth here. Unfortunately with the BG being 100% black there really isn't anything but text and a render. Text style is alright and render effects seem decent but get some stock work in there so that it doesn't look like you render is falling into a black hole.
  25. Everything about this feels very "in your face" which can be okay but unfortunately isn't working the best here. Blending is going to be the key and unfortunately right now the logo, text and stock work are all fighting for control. Play with exposure layers and different blending options to try and get your elements to place nicer together. Also, try to avoid text strokes as they make it stand out far too much.
