    2. .915+ save percentage and less than 2.5 goals against average per game
    3. Offence. No matter how good I do in net if we cant score we wont win anything
    4. Our new goalie we drafted. Trying to teach him as much as I can so when I leave next season he's ready

The Kings this season have a very good shot at the cup. We’re ranked in the top 2 in the VHLM and I think we should be number 1 but it’s better to be underrated than overrated. I’m going to do a very quick and brief rundown of the team this season and possibly go over the future of the team. Not everyone will be mentioned because I don’t want to write a whole book.

    Forwards

We have a full roster of forwards so no pesky bots will ruin our games. Our two highest-rated Forwards are RJ Thatcher and Justin Lose. Both of them have been capping out and within a week or two, both of them will be maxed out in the VHLM. I expect these two to lead in nearly every offensive stat and their
performances will likely sway the team from good to great.

With the team having two amazing forwards that alone isn’t enough to take a team to the finals. Jakob Sosa, John Callahan Jr, Anthony Suzuki, Chris Foley, Liam Fischl, Magnus Verlander, Mando Blatsyuk, and Nathan Steele. All these guys are rated 136+. Not all but the majority of them are capping out every week. This level of activity within the forward base will make the Kings the most feared offense in the league. I wouldn’t be surprised if the top goal scores list is filled with these guys.

    Defense

I do believe we have one spot open for Defensemen so an evil bot will touch the ice. Hopefully, we can find a warm body to put out there. The Defense compared to the offense is definitely a bit underwhelming. Out of the 7, there are only 4 solid guys with the other 3 still developing. Hulk Hogan Jr, Kevin Wu, King Kruul, and Teppo McBighit will need to carry the other guys and do their absolute best to keep the other team off the board. With how lethal the offense is any time they can hold them to 1 or fewer goals is a guaranteed win.

    Goalies
I myself am the starting goalie. I will most definitely be biased here and say the Kings net is the best in the league. With the defense not being fully there yet having a capped out goalie in net will surely help them. I’ve already talked about my personal goals in the net but I do believe any time less than 2 pucks go past me or Jonathan Bustard then the game is over. Speaking of Jonathan he was one of our latest pickups in the draft. He appears to be a welfare+ player but with a little push, he will easily be 150+ next season and become their starter when I get called up.

    Overall

This team is stacked with talent. A playoff appearance is literally a guarantee and with the combination of the net and this offense, this team could be unstoppable. If we don’t win the cup I riot so just win please :)).

Currently, I’m capped at 250 for the start of the season so I can't improve without being called up to the VHL. This season will be focused on stockpiling as much tpe as possible as well as winning the cup with the Kings. We have an amazing team and we can easily take a cup this season as long as everyone stays active. My personal goals as far as stats this season is to have a 915+ save percentage with a less than 2.5 goals-against average. These are some high expectations but if I do meet them we will win the cup no doubt.
With this being my last season in the VHLM I hope to play above my abilities and create some bonds that will carry into the VHL. I do believe there are some people on the Kings who are with the Vancouver farm system like I am so I’ll be able to play with them again in the future. Also, the Vancouver general manager will be keeping a close eye on the Kings so I definitely need to play well. Don’t want to embarrass myself in front of him. I still need to prove I can play in the big leagues and handle myself as a starter.
Here’s to a good season and I wish everyone luck on the Kings. Be active, play well, and have fun. (Hylands wants a cup so don’t let him down)

Interview of the Mexico City Kings GM @Hylands

    1) What are your thoughts on this season’s performance.

I'm extremely proud of how the Mexico City Kings performed this season. We went into the draft with just a single player, came out with 3, and then got straight to work on adding waivers. We managed to finish 7th overall and we did that by punching well above our weight in my opinion. We had an extremely close series with Las Vegas, with 3 games decided by a single goal, so things really could have turned out a lot differently!

    2) The Kings were knocked out in round 1. Do you think the team had a real chance this season in getting a cup or was it just wishful thinking?

Realistically, we didn't have much of a chance at all at a cup, but it's always fun to be hopeful! I think that attitude served us well all season, and we surpassed all of my expectations.

    3) Who do you think will win this season’s VHLM Cup?

I think Vegas could definitely take it. They have a strong first line, with some amazing depth, as well as a solid goaltender. They have all the pieces necessary to go all the way.

    4) With all the draft picks you have accumulated what is your plan as far as the draft. Will you aim for offense, defense, speed, power?

We've just started our scouting process after our elimination, so we have somewhat of a basic idea of what we want to target. I don't want to reveal too much, but you should definitely keep an eye on Mexico City come draft day.

    5) Will you be building the team around a specific core or is it going to be whoever the best available is?

We're definitely looking to bring back as many of our amazing waiver claims from last season as we possibly can. Other than that we'll be drafting people based on how their interviews go.

    6) Do you think Mexico City will be the #1 team next season or is that shooting too high?

We're aiming to be the best, yes. We have high hopes for this squad next season and we think we're in a position to go on and be one of the top teams in the league.

    7) What are your plans for this offseason other than the draft?

We have a lot of scouting to do with the number of picks we have. Other than that, my VHL player is in the playoffs with Malmo, so I'll be closely following that as it goes on.

? How has been the GM of The Kings been?

It's been my absolute favorite experience so far in my short time in the VHL. Interacting with the players on my team is the highlight of my day every day, and I think the culture that Rory and I have created in Mexico is second to none.

    9) When do you plan on being a VHL GM?

I'm not exactly sure when I plan on it, but I do eventually want to be a VHL GM one day. For now, I'm focused on this upcoming draft for Mexico, which is going to be extremely important if we want to have any hopes of winning a cup.

    10) Which team would you like to GM in the VHL if you were able to choose?

My choice would be The Malmo Nighthawks. My player plays for them, and I plan on staying there for my entire career. It's a phenomenal place with some equally amazing people in the locker room.

With the release of NHL 21, I have been wondering what it would be like to have members of the VHL and VHLM play in a league on that game. I think it could be a fun experience especially if you were to bring your sim players to life and play as them in actual games against other members. This is mostly just an idea that will most likely never happen due to people having lives and all that. With that being said I’m still going to go into how it could be set up and run.

First off you’d need some sort of sign-up page. This would show the people in charge of how many people are interested in actually participating so they can put together the necessary amount of teams for the first season. The teams will be based on current VHL teams with the same names and locations as well as logos if possible. Having every single team would be impossible if the participation isn’t very high since it would be better to have a full human team and not a team with a bunch of AI on it because AI is overpowered. Some VHL teams would need to be cut most likely but that’s not my problem. The teams and the league as a whole would work similarly to the VHL as each team would have a GM with the option of an AGM. It would also have a small team of owners who would set up scheduling and keep track of the standings.

The GM role for each team would be a voluntary position. Current team GMs don’t have to pick the team they run either and can choose another if desired but each team current GM would have the first pick over their own team so no one can thief it. The owner’s board would be selected by everyone or by whoever was to start it up.

Players that choose to sign up would be placed in a draft and the GM from the teams would participate in picking players similar to the VHL draft. Trades will be allowed and there is no payment system so technically a team could make a god squad but that’s also not my problem lol. If that does become an issue I’m sure someone can come up with a solution. Each team will require its own goalie since the AI goalies in this game are insane and can't be beaten as a human goalie can. Each team must fill up all six spots on their roster and can have two reserves. For a team to be eligible for a game they must have a minimum of four players on the ice. If they can not field that the team forfeits the game and loses automatically 2-0. If you start with 4 and lose one from the connection or they have to leave that’s ok but no less than 3 or you will be forced to quit and the score will be 2-0.

Since this will be a direct connection to the VHL & VHLM having some sort of reward for the winning team in uncapped TPE could help people earn some extra tpe on the side. Using the VHL system for this would work just fine.

If this gets enough attention and people want this to happen I’m more than happy to start this up myself. I think to make this be possible we would need a minimum of 30 people to want to be apart of this so we could field 5 teams.

Xflexz reacted to Patrik Tallinder in Top 4th Round Steals of The S70's So Far — The Dream Team
Hello everyone, it's been a little while since I released an article outside of the RavenSkill Development (formerly DilAgency) ones. For theme week, I wanted to incorporate my scouting background in some way, and to look back at some of the drafts I've covered. I settled on the hidden gems of the draft: the fourth round steals. I had a few tough decisions to make, but I'm pretty happy with the result. Without further ado, here it is!

     (S72) LW - Jared Willis - 312 TPE @BlueMaple
    selected by HC Davos Dynamo

Following a 44th overall selection, Jared Willis spent S72 and S73 in the VHLM, where he put up 66 points in 144 games. His rookie season so far has consisted of 13 points in 44 games in Davos, and a nice 7 goals which is the 6th most on the team. The young winger has not dropped below 7 TPE in any given week since May, and has seen steady and quality growth in his game as a result. I could definitely see Willis developing into a super consistent secondary scoring threat who can pot 15-20 per season. To me, he is the obvious selection here.

    HM: Logan Hoffman.

    (S72) C - Pietro Angellini - 418 TPE @okifenoki
    selected by the Moscow Menace

With the second last pick in the S72 Draft, Moscow picked center Pietro Angellini. I'll be honest, and say that Angellini wasn't really on my radar a whole lot prior to the draft. However that changed unbelievably quickly afterwards. The American forward started capping out weekly and earning TPE like a first round talent. Like Willis, he is also in the midst of his debut seaosn, and it has been a pretty good one overall. He is operating at a hair under a 0.5 P/GP pace, with a total of 21 in 43 games to date. Although Angellini's TPE eaning has taken a bit of a hit lately, he is still the star of this team, and a fantastic young player.

    HM: Alek Andreshnikov, Jim Allen.

     (S73) RW - Secel Keller - 177 TPE @xsjack
    selected by the Prague Phantoms

Keller is a player who made a comeback for the ages, becoming one of his team's more exciting prospects after a concerning 11 consecutive inactive weeks. His recovery has been more than impressive, averaging around 9 TPE over his last 9 weeks. The big winger is a versatile offensive threat who has posted 0.5 goals per game in the VHLM this season, and produced at just a tad under a point per game. He may be a bit behind in TPE right now, but keep in mind that he is younger than every other skater on this list.

HM: Ernie King, Fongs Son, Peter Louis II.

     (S72) D - Ziarie Anigbogu - 361 TPE @ngine4
    selected by the Toronto Legion

Toronto defenseman Ziarie Anigbogu is a smooth-skating menace from the back end, and one that impacts the game on both sides of the ice. Anigbogu had a very successful VHLM career in which he put up 168 points in 225 games, and now he is transitioning his game to the big league. He has put up 6 points so far, but that number is bound to go up quite soon if he keeps developing consistently. His TPE earning has been a little patchy as of late, but he has proven time and time again that he is on the trajectory of an seriously impactful player in the VHL.

     (S72) D - Chance Rust - 319 TPE @turkey2349
    selected by HC Davos Dynamo

Chance Rust is our final skater, as well as our 4th S72 player. That draft was filled to the brim with talent, and Rust is yet another name that has emerged as a mainstay in the VHL from it. He is an outstanding puck-mover with all the tools to be a breakout machine, and just a great asset to have all over the ice. His 17 points are a great starting point for his career, and he will only get better with time, of course. The defender's TPE production has been solid, other than a small blunder last week with just 2 TPE. Defence might just be the best part of this dream team of mine, and Rust adds a lot to this blueline.

HM: Erik Hjalmarsson, Yuuto Kira Cloudera, Nathaniel N.

     (S74) G - Markus Emerson Jr - 199 TPE @Xflexz
    selected by the Vancouver Wolves

This was easily my hardest decision to make. There is 100% a case to be made that another goalie should have this spot, however I'm taking a swing for upside. I believe Emerson Jr was THE steal of S74, and he is wasting no time in catching up to the top dogs of his draft class. The 5'10" goaltender has capped out for 4 consecutive weeks now, earning an average of 25 TPE per week in that time span. This is a player with potential to be a quality starter in the VHL one day, and that is more than you could ever ask for from a 4th round pick.

HM: Bacon, Nils Friedriksen, Jacob Carson, Michael Olson, Piero Angela.

Well, there it is. The fourth round steals of the S70's so far. It was tough to leave some players out, but I'm now leaving it up to them to prove me wrong in not choosing them.

    Age: 20
    Height: 5' 10"
    Weight: 152 lb.

    Introduction
I first entered the VHLM scene near the end of season 72. I was signed to San Diego on a quick deal for a few games then once the season ended I was released. Going into season 73 I was placed into the VHLM entry draft and selected 73rd overall by Las Vegas who almost instantly traded me to Mexico City. In Mexico City, I was a bench player for my first full season but once season 74 came around I became the starter. In this time I was also drafted by Vancouver into the VHL as the 57th overall pick. I was surprised I was drafted at all but I’m happy I did. Getting drafted to the VHL really kick started my career and I started putting as much time as I could into becoming the greatest player on the planet.

Prior to the VHL draft I was a below average player. But since that day I was drafted I have exploded with potential. I’ve really worked hard in ensuring I'm as quick and controlled as I possibly can be while in net. And on top of that I’ve learned how to keep the puck from bounding off of my into venerable situations.

    Cons
I’ve struggled with penalty shots for as long as I can remember. To this day its one of my greatest weaknesses. My ability to rally the team and mount a comeback is about as effective as using pillow in a gun fight. These are things I plan to work on but it will be a struggle.

    Stats
As my new role as starter for Mexico City I have surprised myself with my performance. Last season as back up I only played a handful of games. My save percentage was .894% and goals against average was 4.47. As I’ve said this current season I have performed significantly better than my last cashing in a .917 save percentage and a 2.91 goals against average. Although we’ve only played eight total game so far this is a great sign for things to come and I expect to have my number look even better by the end of the season.

    Future Plans
I plan on working as hard as I can in order to become the greatest player the VHL and VHLM have ever seen! Each week will be a grind to become the best. I can not afford to take any breaks. My agility and speed will be greatly improved from where it is now by the end of this VHLM season as well as some one on one practice with the team to improve my penalty shot.

How long have you been GM?

“It’s been about 2 months since I took the job as GM of the Mexico City Kings.”

Coming in as the new GM what were your first thoughts of the team?

“Coming in, I already knew the makeup of the team and what kind of situation they were in because I had played here for two seasons prior. I was really good friends with past GM @motzaburger as well, and he made sure to set this team up for future success.”

What is your vision for this team in the future?

“I want this team to be one of the premier destinations for 1st Generation Players in the VHL. We’ve had some pretty good success with that recently and I would like to keep that tradition going.”

What made you want to be a GM?

“Well I love hockey for one, but I also like to help new members on the site and get them up to speed with how things work. Becoming a GM in the minors has allowed me to build relationships with these new players and I’m proud to say that I think we have a solid group of young talent here.”

What are your current expectations for the team this season and next season?

“Admittedly expectations were low heading into this season, but the team has smashed all of those and we are now comfortably in a playoff race which is just phenomenal. With our plethora of picks coming up next season, it’s an exciting time to be a King here in Mexico City!”

I always enjoy seeing team reviews. It makes the players have their own sort of spotlight within the article and you did a great job of it. Something you could change to improve the overall astetic of the article is having the headlines be a bigger font than the rest of the article. It makes it pop out more and separates the article very nicely. 9/10 good job!

Excellent job taking the time out to research all these players and their stats. I'm sure this too an insane amount of time. Including the team logo that the player was on was a nice touch. Also the information was easy to follow it was short and sweet and told you what you needed to know and didn't ramble on. The only thing that bothered me is at the top of the article 1. and 2. appear to be a ligher black than the remaining parts. That could be my eyes trying to trick me though. 10/10 Do goalies next ❤️

@Jtv123 Apparently I messed up somewhere and put an F instead of a D for Roque Davis
Could you move him to my Defense spot in place of Edwin and put Andrew Su in that empty Forward spot
