  7. okay here we go, top of my head answers lets do it 1. I think line combinations can ruin a team, but never save them. Same with strategies. There is no "perfect" lineup combination that puts you a step above. 2. I know that my system gets me disproportionately more graduating players than others. I think it's an ineffective GM will lose more players, but a neutral to a perfect GM could have similar results. There will always be players who lose interest, our job is to not give them a reason to lose interest. 3. Before, during, and likely after the VHLE, players have been dropping like flies in the 200-300TPE range, or the equivalent TPE range for other earning eras, since the dawn of time. It just kind of happens. E looked worse because of it in its time, but the M was never much better and probably won't ever be. 4. I think longer tenured GMs can have higher peaks, but perhaps simply a slower descent. It's impossible to bring your A game every season, for an indeterminate amount of time. Far more important to have a higher floor than a higher ceiling. It's very easy to run out of things worthy of your time as a GM, and much much more obvious when you're bringing less than what you should be. 5. I don't think the M GM statistics are recorded in a meaningful way, so not really. Perhaps now they'll be more valuable what with the longer player lifespans in the M, but in the E era, each season was so new and so different that there was never really a mark of a consistently good GM, and GMs never really last multiple contention periods.

  12. Hi VHL! Boy oh boy has it been an interesting few weeks. Supposedly this will be my last devastatingly busy one for at least a couple months, but project after project have been piling up, and that’s put sim leagues in a weird spot. Woods had probably one of the best seasons I’ve ever had this season. I’ve never really been that close to the statistical awards leaders, and while I didn’t manage to get anything off of Stone, it was awesome getting to fight against a dominant player like that this season. Internally it was great to get constant pressure from Obuz, who was always pushing the pair of us to be better, do better, and support the forwards that we served. In the end, Malmo and Moscow sit, as we tend to at this stage, and we watch Davos head to the finals. While Woods got the better of fellow S94 Draftee Felicia Hardy in the regular season, it’s been no contest in the playoffs so far, winning exactly 1 of the last 9 playoff games they’ve played against each other in. Hardy was kind enough to reach out to extend her wishes that Woods “Enjoy the vhl offseason”, which Woods was already planning to do anyways, but appreciated the gesture nonetheless. Euron plans to begin the utter destruction and humiliation of GMs across the world starting today, and I for one am excited to see where the bloodthirst takes Moscow. There is no shortage of talent, vibes, competition, development, and performing pedigree in this system, but there is a very strict and rather annoying cap on salary out. And while Woods would probably pay to play in Moscow, the VHL Board of Governors convened and decided that it would simply be too fun of an idea to allow. As for Houston, I’m really happy with the progress we made from the beginning of the season to now. We’ve got a great group of players, all with their own special quirks, and we’ve acquired a ton of TPE along the way. It was enough to chase Las Vegas out of the 8 seed, but not enough to go much further. It will be exciting to see what we can scrounge from a smaller VHLM class coming up here, but considering the roster size we already carried this season, we’re not looking to fill too many holes. The only issue will be Free Agency, and which players can be brought back. It’s tough to never find offense, but next season we build off of the foundation we have, and fix some of the wonky bits this offseason, and really drive it home with some great building, great earning, and most importantly, excellent vibes. We’ll continue to make good choices every week, and fulfill our prime directive, getting as many Houston players into the VHL as possible. All of the players that were earning when I started as the GM made it to the end of the season without dropping activity, so that is something I’m very proud of. That’s the expectation going forward, and one that I know we can continue to uphold.

  15. I do know that I hold the most shots in a career and highest goal rate for an full, non-skipping VHL career in the hybrid era with Wolanin I image I'm not the first GM to win the first Championship for 2 different franchises, but I imagine I'm the first in a long time?
  16. Well you beat my rookie season, so expect 100 out of you next season!
  17. This is very fun and I love it
  18. Ironically the 1000TPE, at least to me is pretty much the missing middle class in the VHL. Not enough of the member base is earning 8-12TPE per week for their entire careers. We have plenty of 12+, and we have plenty of 7-, but that really is our largest gap.
  19. Even right behind with Hardy, I don't think many teams have a 900+ TPA player 2 spots out of a roster spot
  20. Yup! I've been sorely lacking a buffer on Woods, so I'm less proud of my content, but I think I gained a lot on Wolanin by having a 3+ week buffer, and I doubt I claimed at least 25% of the TPE I could have. Taking the pressure to create off allowed me to create content I'm more proud of!
