    Let's go Storm, I guess.

  2. Hey everyone, thanks for having me.

Since I came into the league, a few seasons ago, it's been a slow going time.  I've been in and out, working on getting better, and sometimes forgetting to do things.

Times are tough sometimes, as a lot of other people are multi-league, like myself, but it's never an excuse.  I wanted to really put out this small bit to really say that I'm shifting gears.   My desires to do minimal work and still succeed have, obviously, been pipedreams.  I am, from this moment, dedicating myself and promising Moscow and Las Vegas that I'm moving forward and going to put my effort into this league.

I have had a wonderful opportunity, playing for Las Vegas, and having been drafted to Moscow. Both organizations have really helped and been supportive.

The Ace's have been very good, competitively, since I arrived, and it's not really due to my presence.  But, Spartan and Jiggly have been helping me form my dedication to this league, and now I'm driving as hard as I can to join Moscow in the VHL.

So, it's a lot of words to not say much, except I am, from here in, aligning myself to a goal. I'm going to follow suit with the rest of the league and start truly working towards being a good player. That comes with taking the time to put forth work, and being in other leagues doesn't excuse my lack of effort.

Answer these questions for 2 Capped TPE

    1) It's the end of the season! We finished 5th overall in league standings and 4th in the Western Conference. What do you think of our regular season performance?

    2) What do you think we need to do/improve on in order to do well in the playoffs?

    3) What's your favourite Christmas movie? Why?

    4) What's something that not too many people know about you?

    5) On the first game we had against Miami since swapping goalies, we won against them 5-2. How did that make you feel knowing that Sovick was the goalie for Miami in that game?

    6) What's one of your favourite holiday memories?

1.) I can't help but feel we underachieved, especially compared to last season. But, we have a bunch of people here working their hardest, and the results are what they are.

2.) I leave that kind of thinking to our wonderful front office staff. But we need to become more consistent, in my opinion.

3.) Santa Clause.  Keeping your children's belief alive and doing everything you can to foster that spirit hits home.

4.) Maybe not too many people know that, over my 9 years in the military (real life??!), I've battled with depression, anger and even alcohol abuse.  I've had a rough time, especially over the last 6 years, but things are always getting better, even if I don't know it.

5.) I mean, you do your job. Goalie? Keep the puck out of the net.

6.) Like I said last week, seeing my son's face light up last year really melted my heart.  I'll never forget it.

  4. Breeze Ladrian, Born Edward Ladrian, was always a multi-sport athlete.  Throughout his youth, he played various levels of hockey, basketball and football.

While he never excelled in the other two, he found a skill on the ice.  At the young age of 10 years old, he began to flourish.  In his small town, guided by his parents, he spent his time away from school to practice.

In middle school, Breeze had registered and joined a small youth league of 6 teams, and quickly grew to be the best player in the league.  As a defenseman, Breeze focused his efforts on blocking shots and getting hits, sometimes violently, to disrupt opposing offense.

It was in high school, however, that the dream of playing professionally truly grew roots.  Though he remained playing basketball, starting on his varsity team by his Sophomore year, he was one of the top rated prospects in his region.

Joining the juniors league as early as he could, troubles began to arise.  Breeze was repeatedly and consistently noted as being conflicted. As a multi-sport athlete, his dedication to hockey was questioned openly on a regular basis.  His defense continued to be a strong suit, but offensively he never really shined. His skill on the skates left plenty to be desired, and out of high school, it is reported he was offered basketball scholarships.

With his dedication in doubt, his agressive playstyle causing penalty concerns, and his raw skills leaving much to be desired, it is no wonder that Ladrian slipped so far into the draft.  To this date, his commitment is questionable at times, but reportedly he's been around the Ace's facilities more and more.

When asked directly about it, Breeze has consistently hedged. "I want to be as great as I can be...but I don't know if I want to be great on the ice or on the court.  My coaches and managers throughout my life have always said I could be one of the best, but I just can't bring myself to believe it.".

By many metrics, Ladrian underperformed in his Junior's career, and was reportedly a no show frequently.  After moving out of the Juniors, he signed with Mexico City and was later drafted by the Reapers, and both organizations openly stated he was hardly at their facilities.

Could this be the start of a diamond being refined? Or will he continue to be a massive question mark on his path to the professionals league?

Answer these questions for 2 Capped TPE

    1) WOAH TRADES GALORE! What do you think about the recent trades as of late? What kind of statement does it make towards the other teams?

    2) What do you love most about this time of year? The gifts? The gatherings? (Well not anymore cuz fucking rona) Maybe because you get a break from school/work?

    3) I'm assuming none of you guys are children so what's an incident from highschool that you remember?

    4) We're currently locked at 5th place in the standings. Will that change by the end of the season?

    5) How are you doing as of late?

    6) What's your favourite snack?

1.) It's good to see trades. Vegas usually does well making trades, and it's a message to the league that we are gearing up to make a run this season.

2.) Honestly, I love the reactions from my kids when Santa brings what they wished for.  When my son comes down the stairs all wide-eyed and excited, it makes the entire season worth it.

3.) Haha I remember a lot of things.  Not one I was involved with, there was a fight in the main hallway during classes, and someone threw multiple firecrackers into the middle of the fight. School closed for the day.

    4.) I have no clue.

5.) Eh.  I'm alive, I guess. So, could be worse.

6.) I love sweets. I have a hella bad sweet tooth.  Cakes, cupcakes, cookies.  Crazy bad for me.

Answer these questions for 2 Capped TPE

    Week Ending: 12/7 - 12/13

    1) On 12/6, we had a really good sim as we won all three of our games on that day. How do you feel about our performance and more so the performance of @matt sovick in those games?

Winning is winning, but what he did in those games? Can't ask for more.

    2) So y'know how I asked if you preferred coffee or tea? Which do you prefer? Tea, or hot chocolate?

Tea, all the way. Cocoa is nice on Christmas, but Tea is year round.

    3) What did you think about the now denied trade involving Aksu Maronen and a 5th round pick getting shipped to Ottawa for a previously voided 1st round pick and Asher OHara?

    @Spartan sucks. Plain and simple.

    4) What was your favorite Christmas present? Or if you don't celebrate Christmas, what was your favorite present that you've ever gotten?

I got my first trumpet on Christmas, and I used it all the way up to my freshman year of college. Still have it too.

    5) How do you overcome scoring slumps? A little luck? Perhaps some sort of change in how you play?

Hahahahaha. Hahaha. Me? Get over slumps? I don't score.

    6) Do you prefer summer or winter?

Fall. Summer too hot, Winter too cold.

Answer these questions for 2 Capped TPE

    1) The season has begun! We have a pretty good start so far with a 7-1-2 record. What do you think of the start so far?

We are on a good track, but we have a long way to go. Last season ended wrong, and we need to advance in the postseason for any of this to matter.

    18 hours ago, JigglyGumballs said:

    2) Do you think that we'll be able to maintain the pace we are currently at until the end of the season?

Of course. We finished at the top last season, and we can do it again.

    3) Do you feel like you're doing as well as you think you are doing? What can you improve?

I have, honestly, no clue. I can improve on my workouts and improving my game.

    4) What do you think is the biggest flaw in this team?

    I'll plead the Fifth.

    5) What was your favourite toy growing up?

Uh...probably the speaker/microphone I got for my 12th birthday, so I could karaoke everyday.

    6) What did you originally think of FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY when you first saw/heard it?

What the hell is this? Who okayed this for a press conference?!

    1) We've advanced pass the first round! How'd think we do?

Any time you win in the playoffs, you're doing great. It's not over yet, but we made the right first steosm

    2) Who do you think we'll face next?

Mississauga looks to be the next series.

    3) What do you think is the biggest challenge when moving up to the VHL? Or just getting a bigger role within the team in general?

The hard work in the gym, day in and day out, is taxing. It takes a level of dedication to really reach a point where you can be trusted.

    4) Is the playoff pressure getting to you? How do you get over the pressure?

Haha pressure.  I'm going to play my game, and let the results speak.

    5) What's one of your favorite memories in the VHL so far?

Being traded here and being so welcomed has really been...well, amazing really.

    6) What's your favorite video game, movie, and TV show?

    Video Game: Megaman X

    Movie: Fight Club

    TV Show:...Dunno man. YuyuHakusho?

I don't know how much this will really help with posting on game threads. I think that simply asking users for more activity there will push people to make comments on the forums (myself included). However, taking away the most popular medium for receiving games will deter users more than encourage them.

If this is a big priority for the league, sim attendance as a PT wouldn't be a terrible idea.

I think the solution is more likely close to this.  Members are used to the bot, they like the bot, and they won't want it to leave.

But asking people to engage in the forums won't get them to do it.  I think the biggest helps would be a sim attendance PT and some kind of... Engaging content.  The lack of a presentation like SBA or EFL makes it difficult, and the sheer number of games is just as bad.

But, that doesn't mean there aren't ways we can present the sims, which is the product of the league, and get the community to engage willingly and meaningfully.  Its all a matter of figuring it out. I think this is a solid step to getting information needed to make some informed decisions.
