  1. A fight and two goals against Toronto......I like it!
  2. Well, it looks like it's shaping up to be a pretty tight playoff race in the North American conference. The Wolves and the Phoenix are fighting over first place, the Dragons and Bears are kind of comfortable in their 3rd and 4th spots, but the trio of the Toronto Legion, the New York Americans, and the LA Stars are starting to nip at the heels of the best team in the league, the Calgary Wranglers. Although it's a ten point gap as of right now, the Wranglers have been struggling with recent sims, and the Legion and Americans in particular are winning games they should not be winning. And it's making me and probably the rest of the Wranglers stressed out and we just need to pull it together. With RJ Jubis and Edwin THE Encarnacion officially announcing their retirements, and Patrik Tallinder's inching up, the pressure to go out with a bang for these fellows is rising. The Wranglers are ushering in a new generation, and this is probably the last season where we can still contend with our current core. It's going to be sad to see these guys go, but I think the future is bright in Calgary. 201 words
  3. 1. Ya know what, let's shoot for the stars. Give me the Wolves 2. Well, Riga looks kinda good now, so I guess London still has a chance 3. Fromtheinside was a fantastic AGM for my in Yukon, and he's bound to get a GM job soon. 4. A BELT from Timmies. Best of all four worlds 5. Soccer, and a bit of golf if we get knocked 6. Quinn Hughes as a winger tbh. He'd be like a Marner
  4. 10:15 on a Sunday night, the very last minute for writing a media spot. Yet it must be done, and I've come up with an interview with Sheldon Juniper for this week's article. It regards the performance of Juniper himself lately, the performance of the Calgary Wranglers, and the race for the rookie of the year. Reporter: Thanks for taking the time to do this, Sheldon. First of all, how are you doing? It's your very first season in the VHL, and that must come with a lot of stress. How do you cope with suddenly being on a real professional hockey team? Juniper: Yeah, I mean, it's a big jump for sure. Being traded too, after thinking I'd be spending my career in Vancouver, it's been a news flash, too. But I'm very happy with my situation in Calgary. Management is awesome, and I really feel at home in our dressing room. It's a nice feeling to know you belong somewhere. Reporter: That's great, I'm glad it's going well. I know the World Juniors were a while back now, but let's touch on that quickly. You had a good tournament representing Team Canada, although you ultimately fell short of gold. How was that experience as a whole? Juniper: Yeah, that whole thing was surreal. Being able to represent my country, and playing with guys I grew up playing against and with, it was a great experience. We weren't on our best in the round robin, and I had only 2 goals in those 8 games. But we found our clutch in the important games, when we beat Asia in the qualifiers and then barely lost to Team World, who would go on to win gold. But we did get bronze, which is still something to be proud of. I had 4 points in those 2 medal games, too, so I think I was at my best at that tournament. Overall, it was an amazing thing to be a part of, and I hope I can do it all over again next season, and hopefully come back with that gold. Reporter: Onto the Wranglers. You guys are tied with the Seattle Bears for 4th in the North American division after a hot start. How do you think your season's going to end up, and who's been making the biggest difference on the ice and in the room? Juniper: I think the way the season has gone so far, we should at least be able to get into the wildcard series, and after that, anything can happen. As for the guys that stick out, I have to give a shout out to my man Tallinder, who's the heart and soul of this team. Lafontaine is also a rock in nets, we would be at the bottom of the standings without him. RJ Jubis, one of the main leaders in the room, announced he's retiring after this season, which is going to affect the team for sure. We're a tight group of players. Reporter: Thanks for this, Sheldon Juniper: No problem. Have a good day 514 words
  5. 1. For sure. He's a great player, and he has a bright future 2. I like some of the above answers, he's an absolute workhorse and he gels real well with his linemates 3. Well, I've been sucking since I banked big on John Merrick, and it hasn't worked out so far. 4. Tallinder for sure. What a beast of a player 5. Honestly, it would be clutch. I think clutch is quite valuable 6. Used 2012 toyota corolla. Saving up for an apartment in downtown Calgary
  6. 1. I think we're doing decent out of the gates 2. Apple. I need a watch 3. I love my pick of Alex Letang, I think that's a steal 4. Um, the whole season? haha 5. Jets got fleeced. They don't get to see a Perfetti-Laine power play. 6. Merrick went to a bad team, so maybe he makes them better. Strauss should give the Bears some depth
  7. Review: First things first, I love the title. Nasty clickbait, isn't it? Anyways, I do like the article, too. Outlining the trades you made, and giving a little bit of reason to it, but not enough to ruin your podcast which I'll probably listen to now. Maybe make the trade itself bold so it sticks out. 9/10
  8. Review: This is hands down the longest interview I have ever seen, props for that. You really went into Isau's story, and that's cool. In terms of formatting, the spacing and the photos looked pretty good, My one suggestion is to maybe make either the person's name or the text bold, not both. 9.5./10
  9. The first nine games of S76 are underway. Right away, a few teams established themselves as contenders and the teams to beat. One of those teams is the Warsaw Predators, who are still undefeated in regulation with 8 wins and 1 overtime loss. Even though they added some rookie talent from the VHLM, the addition of Uhtred, who is the second in the league in scoring, Defenseman Latrell Mitchell has also been key. Also relevant in the European conference are the Helsinki Titans, who brought in a couple of young prospects to eventually replace their aging core. However, these aging guys are still pretty damn good. Ola Vikingstad leads the league in scoring, Patrik Laine is on the goals leaderboard, and Zamboni Driver is on a few of the goalie leaderboards. This team is still noticeable for now. In the North American conference, The Vancouver Wolves and Chicago Phoenix sit on top of the rankings. The Wolves are coming off a cup win two seasons ago, and they're looking for more. Andrew Su is on a few of the league leaderboards, while Onde Sandstrom, Griff Manzer, and the rest of the older Wolves welcome some rookies like Jakob Sosa and Robin Galante Nilsson onto the team. The most noticeable rookie though has been goalie Markus Emerson Jr., who has yet to lose as game in the three that he played. The final team worth mentioning is the Chicago Phoenix. The other half of the Dragons-Phoenix underdog run, the Phoenix were heartbroken as DC kicked them out of the playoffs. But this season, as DC struggles with 3 wins and 5 losses, the Phoenix fly high. Their goaltender, Jean Pierre Camus, has seen them through every season they've existed. Hotshot rookie defenseman L will probably break a few records in his prime. And acquired scorer Kyl Oferson packs some offensive punch at the front of the pack That wraps up this week's vhl.com article installment. 324 words

  13. @Jubis do we skip now, I think it's been 12 hours
  14. 1. The VHLM draft was a crazy one, and there were a lot of new GMs 2. Yeah, I think it's cool that there's fresh blood. Giving new guys opportunities is good 3. I think it's slowed down considerably this season, so I don't think expansion is necessary. 4. I don't think that format is enviable, just because if one division is really strong and another is weak, it makes for lopsided standings. 5. A fair amount. I think we're one of the stronger teams in the league. 6. I really like the Mandalorian, I think it's a great show

  16. Nearly immediately after the playoffs ended and trades were deemed okay again, there was a new trade almost every hour for the next two days. Swapping draft picks, making room for prospects, selling for picks, it was a whirlwind of exchanges. One of those exchanges involved one Sheldon Juniper. The Vancouver Wolves, Juniper's draft team, had a plethora of forwards and needed to offload a couple. At the same time, the Calgary Wranglers found their forward core aging, so they wanted some new blood in the system. So a deal was worked out: the Wranglers would receive Juniper, fellow young forward Riley Couture, and a S77 third round pick in exchange for a S76 first round pick and a S77 second round pick. And with RJ Jubis moving to defense to shore up that position, Juniper and Couture will be getting second line minutes. But right now, Juniper is focused on his play in the World Juniors, where he is a winger for Team Canada. The Canadians have had a rough tournament so far, and they're looking to turn the ship around today with the commencement of the medal round. To my understanding, they will be playing Asia in an elimination game. The winner of that game will play Team World, who has only one loss in the tournament, in the semis. 222 words
  17. 1. I mean, I called it in my media spot 2. Great for him, glad some new blood is in the GM pool 3. Use em. Team looks empty right now 4. Canada. Made the team and I'm a proud Canadian myself 5. Yeah, I just got traded to Calgary, so that should be fun 6. Decent. As Ledge said, online school does suck
  18. This is awesome! Glad to be a Wrangler!
  19. After S75 has ended, crowning the Philadelphia Reapers the champions, I thought I would look back on the magical S74 run of the Waiver Warrior Miami Marauders. I'm going to look at what part Juniper played in the story. It all started around the middle of the S74 season, after Juniper ended his OHL season early to try to join a VHLM team. A bunch of offers came in, but he decided to sign with the Miami Marauders, who had picked up a lot of waiver signings, so Juniper was not alone on the team. When he initially joined, he was pushed down to the bottom of the roster to develop while emerging stars Cabe McJake, Addison McLaren, and Hulk Hogan Jr. took the spotlight. While the Marauders slowly inched their way up the standings, Juniper kept working and earning and getting better in the shadows. Finally, as the regular season was coming to a close, he Marauders were in a battle with the Philadelphia Reapers for the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference. It was around here that Juniper was moved up to the second line, and began to produce and make a name for himself. In the final games of the season, the Marauders pulled off some crucial wins, and secured the 4th seed. Juniper finished the season with 13 points in 37 games. After securing that seed, the Marauders went on to pull off a massive first round upset of the top seeded Halifax 21st, which sent the hockey world reeling. They then beat the second seeded Las Vegas Aces in the semis with Juniper scoring the game seven game winning goal to clinch the Marauders' spot, then swept the Mississauga Hounds in the finals. Their unusual amount of waiver signings earned them the nickname 'Waiver Warriors'. Sheldon Juniper finished the playoffs with 10 goals and 16 points in 18 games, including 3 game winners. 318 words
