  1. Review: This is awesome. A great mixture of comedy and pure excitement regarding the two drafts. I can relate, sitting through both drafts is an exciting moment and getting drafted is a moment like no other. I also love how you made Sales' quotes actual quotes. Genius 9.5/10
  2. Review: This is a perfect article in all aspects. You sure know how to write one. The photos are nice, the paragraphs are short and to the point, and you use lots of small details picked up from both the VHL world and the real one. I usually don't like calling anything perfect, but this is quite perfect. 10/10
  3. 1. Lots of training, hanging out with friends and family, you know 2. Passing a lot 3. It's beautiful, the air is so clean, and it's really quiet 4. No. Never. 5. I'm excited to join this promising young team, and hopefully lead the way in terms of scoring 6. Haven't been paying much attention to trades, although the Patrik Tallinder blockbuster was insane
  4. Love the Katanas and the Sockeyes, but the Animation is horrible imho
  5. Review: I'm starting to enjoy reading your articles and waiting in anticipation for the next one. The daily routine is a nice touch, and you spaced it out really well. My only tip that would make it awesome is maybe some bold text or an image. That's all 9/10
  6. Review: Some great content, Riga had a phenomenal draft. So much potential in so many promising picks. A good article, but next time, I'm going to echo another review in saying that you should space it out a little more so it's easier to read. Bold and italics are also useful. 8/10
  7. Hey, it's fyrefly again. I've more or less calmed down after by rant article, and I've come to realize what a great time I had in Miami and what a great rookie experience I was provided with. @Ricer13 and @Zetterberg are both great guys, and made my stay fun and something I will remember for a long time. And since I'm heading out to Yukon or Vancouver now, all the way across the continent, I probably won't see a bunch of my teammates and GMs for a while. @RedSus and @tcookie25 , you guys were the best. Always active on forums with me instead of always on discord. I know you guys are both headed to Riga, and congrats for getting drafted so high. I'll look forward to battling with you in the seasons to come @coochiman gotta love the energy coming from this dude. You and Cabe were the heart and soul of our team, and I'll miss that excitement. Have fun in Riga with those other jokers I'd also like to give a shout out to the young guys, @thadthrasher, @Owen Taylor, @-_____-, @dickzy, who are going to keep our legacy alive. I'll obviously be cheering for the Rush, but I'll be happy if you guys are successful. Ricer, I couldn't be thankful enough. You welcomed me into this league, and didn't mind that I didn't have discord. You welcomed me anyway. I'll always be grateful for the mentoring you gave me, and I'' use it wherever I go in this leauge. Holy shit that was sappy. Please excuse me. I'm going to get back to the fire and ranting for a while now, it felt good venting all that crap that was building up inside me. I did want to get one sappy article out, I do feel pretty grateful to all these guys I mentioned. Anyway, good luck this season, and GO RUSH!! 315 words
  8. I like Ledge's idea Montreal Voyageurs or Phoenix Cowboys Paris Knights Berlin something
  9. The Reapers are going to be goood next season. I think you had an amazing draft, Addison is a monster.
  10. Yeah, it sure helped. I plan to stay in the VHLM for another season, so I'm not holed up on the fourth line of a VHL team.
  11. I'm fucking mad. Like fucking MAD. I was watching the twitch stream of the VHLM dispersal draft last night, and Sheldon Juniper, my player, fell to the back of the second round. And get this, he has more TPE than the first overall pick. After coming in the clutch in the playoffs, scoring ten goals and scoring three game winning goals. After helping the Miami Marauders to the VHLM title. Fucking mad These are Juniper's stats from the playoffs. Ten goals, six assists, sixteen points in eighteen games. +7 plus/minus, 56 shots, 18 hits, one blocked shot, and five power play goals. An all around beast. And he'll only be scoring more next season as he develops. 13. That is the number of players with less TPE that were drafted above of Juniper. THIRTEEN. I don't know exactly what GMs were thinking there, but I really don't understand. I CONSISTENTLY earn more than 14 TPE per week, a hell of a lot more than some of the guys drafted ahead of me. I'm REALLY FUCKING ACTIVE in the forums. But not discord. I don't have discord. Which is probably why I fell. But is it a GOOD fucking reason? To pass on a guy who could be your team's leading scorer in favor of some random guy who is funny on discord and gets less than 10 TPE per week? I really don't get it. I really don't. If it's such a big fucking issue, then why don't we just move everything onto the forums? Then good players like Juniper won't be shunned in favor of guys who will be IA in a season. Yeah, I'm still fucking mad. Watch the first ten seconds of this video of Filip Zadina talking. It's exactly how I feel. "I'm going to fill their nets with pucks. I just want them to know that they shouldn't have passed me on" Thank you to the Yukon Rush for believing in me. You won't So now that I'm done ranting, I just want to shine some light on some guys who I think will become steals for the team that drafted them. Cabe McJake, Miami Marauders, 3rd overall When I saw the Marlins make the first two picks, and Cabe wasn't one of them, I laughed pretty hard. Cabe is the best player of this draft class in my opinion and I'm glad he'll keep the legacy alive in Miami. Addison McLaren, Philadelphia Reapers, 9th overall What is it this year with Marauders players being criminally underrated at the draft? Addison is a beast, he should have gone top five for sure. Key part of our playoff run. Gunnar Odinsson, San Diego Marlins, 37th overall Boom's newest recreate will have a long and fruitful career with the Marlins. I think recreates are always a safe bet in drafts. Blim Blam McFluble, Philadelphia Reapers, 64th overall This was a really great draft by Dmax. Addison and McFluble, who showed serious potential for the Bulls. 500 words
  12. It's that time of year again. The time of drafting. And Sheldon Juniper, an upstart left wing who just won the VHLM title with the Miami Marauders, is eligible for both drafts that are happening. He is ranked in the late second round/early third round for the VHL Entry draft and late first round/early second round for the VHLM Dispersal Draft. Since the portal is down, these stats are from either memory or a wild guess. Bear(?) with me Juniper was hot trash in the regular season, to say the least. He was passed over by other superstar waiver pickups(Cabe and Addison, I'm talking about you) and got limited fourth line minutes for most of the season. I was getting kind of discouraged, and then BOOM. Juniper gains like 35 TPE in one week, upgrades scoring to 80 TPE, gets put on the second line, and starts scoring. Like, a lot. Juniper got almost point per game in the playoffs for the eventual champs Marauders, and was a key part of their upset victories over Halifax and Las Vegas(in fact, the goal he will be remembered for is, in game seven of the Vegas series, with two minutes left in the game, Sheldon Juniper breaks the 3-3 tie to put the Marauders ahead one goal, the winning goal to send the Marauders to the finals, where they sweep the Mississauga Hounds to claim the VHLM championship). As of the most recent VSN mock draft, Juniper is ranked just out of the second round, although I personally think he will go higher because of the clutch he brought this year. Expect to see the name Sheldon Juniper on the scoresheet more often than not in S75, and possibly on the league leaderboard. Since the best teams from last year will be the worst teams this year, not including the Marauders because they actually acquired a bunch of picks at the deadline, I am looking forward to helping a team such as the Bulls or the Marlins or another weak team from last season reclaim glory if I join one of those teams. Also, good luck to the Marauders, who will likely be a middle of the pack team next season. If they manage to pull off another massive upset again, then I wonder in what ways Ricer is hacking the sim engine. Excuse me for being the president of my own fan club here, it's something I don't do very often. But I want Juniper to be drafted as high as possible and I see this as a way that might happen. 433 words
  13. I agree. The system is broken, and it must be fixed. Not eliminated, just fixed
  14. Review: Wow, that’s a lot of words for an interview. Some great content in here, tons of topics. Maybe for next time, make the interviewer italic and your answer regular, so it’s easier to read. 9/10
  15. Demko played average in the regular season before turning it on for three games in the playoffs? There’s a reason they signed Holtby, in case Demko flops
  16. If I had done a second ‘best’ team, it would have been the Habs
  17. It's been an eventful offseason for the NHL, and technically it won't be over for a while. Guys like Hoffman and Granlund, highly-touted free agents, have not been signed. The economic decline has made contracts much harder than they used to be, so negotiating them became harder as well. My most improved team: Colorado Avalanche They didn't make the most acquisitions, but getting Saad, a Cup winner and help for the offensive depth while only giving up the unneeded Zadorov, and getting Toews, who was a beast for the Isles in the playoffs, for only two second rounders. They improved their team dramatically. My least improved team: Vancouver Canucks Watching the Flames slowly steal all their players(Markstrom, Tanev, Leivo) must have been excruciating, considering they made it decently far in the playoffs. They got Holtby, but goaltending wasn't the issue last season. They got nobody to replace Tanev yet, unless Brogan Rafferty becomes a Calder threat. Overall, I think they lost big time My confusing offseason: Ottawa Senators and Chicago Blackhawks Really, Ottawa? Dadonov and Galchenyuk? I'm starting to question the acquisition of these quality players, since the sens are very much still in full fledged rebuild mode. My best guess is that Dorion wants to get more fans to the arena to get excited about their new prospects. Chicago really doesn't have any direction right now. Are they a contender? Not really, since they aren't yet good enough. Are they a rebuilder? Well, they technically finished that when they drafted Boqvist and Dach. So where are they? Probably evaluating how good this year's team is and moving on from there. This is my take. I'm interested to see what everyone else thinks.
  18. Review: I love the short paragraphs and lots of boldness and italics. #sorrynotsorry for that game seven, better luck next year. I always love when people mix a short article with a interview with a player. 9/10
  19. 1. Full of adrenaline and ready to take down our next victim 2. Our underdog magic puts us over the top I think 3. 4-2 Marauders 4. Vegas, because for Halifax, I didn’t really have any expectations. 5. I do not know that one 6. The woodchuck would chuck lots of wood if the woodchuck could chuck wood
  20. First goal in four games, what’s way to end a drought! LETS GO MARAUDERS!!!!!!!!
  21. Review: You should get excited for Leveque, he absolutely ripped up the VHLM this year. I think it's cool that you made a Korean player. Good article overall, nice italics for the quote and bold for Seoul. 9/10
