  1. I have to somehow get my Sims addiction in the league somehow lol
  2. 1. I think Edmonton is going to win. Edmonton has the best 1 - 2 combo in the league. I also believe that McDavid will step up and carry the team. He needs that ring to be a HOF lock. Dallas is a weird team. They have flashes of amazing, but at the same time, they can be exposed. They went to game 7 with a Vegas squad that barely made the playoffs. On the flip side, Edmonton went to 7 with Vancouver with basically no goalie. So it's a coin flip right now. Also, I hate the Dallas chant. You're just chanting your team's name...? All I hear is Dallas Frauds. 2. Nope nope and nope. I can't give up technology, unfortunately. I work in IT and I need it to do my job. And I don't have hobbies that would take up that time. 3. I prefer blueberry for the taste. Apple is too bitter for me. 1. What do you think your player does in the offseason? Besides just sitting at home or going to practice? 2. How do you feel about Discord? Some of the locker rooms I've been in have been dead. It seems that LRs are only active if they are winning games which is lame. What is your take on that? 3. If you can go on vacation to anywhere in the world for a week, where would you go and why?

  4. "Welcome to the Season 94 VHLE Entry Draft everyone! Tonight is another stepping stone to achieving your goal of getting to the big leagues in VHL. To get to the big leagues you first must compete in our league. The VHLE will test you physically and mentally for the tough road ahead. You'll be facing the best of the future. Be ready to make that difference for your team that drafts you." "... Without further ado, Bratislava, you are on the clock for the first overall pick in this year's draft." Wally Lose was sitting in anticipation for his name to be called. He was sitting next to his family including Justin Lose. "I went from the VHLM straight to the VHL because this league wasn't even around. This is a big moment for you. The first Lose to be drafted in the VHLE. You excited?" Justin nudged Wally. Wally had yet to process what was said as he was focused on the stage to see who would be called. "Relax man. It's going to be a long night if you are this tense for every pick. Just sit back and enjoy the moment when it happens." Justin scoffed. "Easier for you to say. You've never had to deal with this draft before. It's nerve-wracking." Exclaimed Wally. This caught Justin by surprise. "I was the same way in the VHL draft. I thought I was going first round. I felt that I made a big impact during my time in the VHLM. When I didn't hear my name called I was distraught. I realized I had to relax and just be in the moment." Justin hoped that this would calm Wally down. He saw Wally relax his shoulders. "We are starting the 3rd round at this time. Cologne Express, you're back on the clock." Was it already the 3rd round? How was that possible? Cologne already picked their player and was moving off the stage. "Can you believe I had all these interviews and no one picked me yet? They were so excited to talk to me. I wonder what happened." Wally said defeated. "Sometimes there are bigger fish that they want to catch first. You can't let it get to you. Whoever is going to pick you is going to get a fantastic player. I bet you'll be picked as soon as possible." Justin said jokingly. "With the 14th pick the Rome Gladiators are proud to select, from the Ottawa Lynx, Wally Lose." Wally wasn't ready for the blinding spotlight to hit him as his name was called. That brief terror as a white light was beaming on him not knowing what was going on. "Get up dude! You just got called! You have to get down there." Justin pulled Wally up. Wally was shaken but understood. Slowly getting up and hugging Justin and his mom. The walk to the stage seemed like a mile away after each step. "Welcome to the VHLE and welcome to Rome!" The VHLE commissioner shook his hand. Wally accepted it and had a huge smile. Getting his jersey and draft cap. He was in his new home. The moment was here and he was going to Rome. The media scrum was fast and hard for Wally. Getting ushered and thrown in front of cameras to answer questions was nauseating for him. Hearing an Italian man trying to communicate with him he didn't understand. Luckily they had a translator on hand for this situation. "You just got drafted to Rome. Congratulations. What went through your head as soon as you heard your name called?" The translator asked. "You can tell me and I'll translate for you." With a gentle nod, "I was so surprised. I didn't expect my name to be called at all. It didn't hit me until my grandpa pulled me up and told me to go down. I'm so excited though. I can't wait to go to Rome. It's a beautiful area and the fans are so loyal." The translator told the media. The interviewer looked pleased with the answer and asked a follow-up question." "Do you have anything to say to the fans back at the arena for the draft party?" "I'm going to be giving it my all every night. I'll make sure that you won't regret taking me in the draft. The cup is coming to Rome." The rest of the day was a blur. From all the camera flashes from the media to getting pushed and pulled in all directions. It was disorienting. He finally caught up with his family at the end of the day. "So... how was it?" Justin punched his shoulder, excited to hear the experience. "Let's talk about it over dinner. I'm starving. Italian?" Everyone chuckled. Fast forward a few weeks. Wally signed his entry-level contract. With that money, he decided that getting an apartment would be good to have a place to retreat. He decided that he wasn't going to get anything crazy or expensive. Something that he can come back to and relax. Luckily, he found an apartment a few minutes from the arena for a good price. It's barebones but it'll do the job. He only had a few essentials to hold him over. As soon as he put down the last box of clothes in the bedroom his phone started to buzz—a video call from Justin. "So what do you think of your new place in Rome? I can't believe you got an apartment right by the arena. That's insane. When I was a rookie, I crashed with a teammate. I never got a place on my own." "It's incredible. I'm still learning Italian on my app. Luckily the team has a teacher who is assisting us. The apartment is a bit rundown but for the price and location, I'll take it. I don't have much but that's okay. I can't wait to start skating." Wally laughed. "You be careful and enjoy. We are headed out to lunch to celebrate." "That's funny. I'm about to head out for a team dinner. You take care. And thank you for everything." Wally smiled. This was only the start of Wally's journey and the legacy of the Lose name. After missing the cup with Ottawa, he wants to get back to the finals with Rome. 1053 word - claiming 2 weeks
  5. 1. Mexico City Kings and Philadelphia Reapers. Even going back to when I first joined the league in 2020 it was always a big thing whenever we faced Philly when I was with Mexico City. I think it's the fact that they are in the same division that spices it up. They are the two that always meet in the playoffs as well. 2. Wally will probably go back to college and finish his degree in computer science. Once he gets that, going back to school for video game development. I think he would be a great video game developer and make a surprise hit. 3. For some reason I was drawn to Pekka Rinne. He was a super cool goalie and the first NHL game I owned, I was drafted by Nashville in Be A Pro. 1. Do you think that with the hybrid attribute system, will there be a team that repeats or three-peats? 2. What league GM position do you think has the toughest job? VHLM / VHLE / VHL? 3. What is an underrated sport that you think people should pay more attention to?
  6. Wally Lose was never going to play hockey until he saw his grandpa play when he was growing up. The first year he started watching was the year that Justin Lose went to the Seattle Bears [Season 81]. From that point on, he was hooked after watching Justin light up the league in scoring. The road to the VHL wasn’t easy. Wally was a quiet and shy kid growing up. He never was interested in sports. He wasn’t excited about anything. School for him was a dreaded task. He never hung out with friends as he wasn’t included. He was a loner. He had a few friends but they would only really talk over text. His worst subject was always public speaking. It was always a daunting task. He didn’t have a favorite class to offset it though. Everything was boring to him. His teachers always saw him as an afterthought as well. Middle of the pack and nothing special. Wally didn’t have any aspirations. His parents were worried about him. They thought he was depressed or something worse. So he was put into therapy. Luckily that was enough for him to open up. He started to be more direct and get involved with things. He started volunteering at the local dog shelter as a dog walker. Luckily, the shelter was close enough to walk to. He would come home from school and go to the shelter to help the dogs and walk them. His parents were excited about this mainly because it was something to occupy him. His home life wasn’t the best and they knew it. His parents didn’t have a lot of money to begin with. Hockey was the last thing on their mind. The therapy sessions for Wally were so expensive as they didn’t have health insurance to cover it. It took 2 jobs for both the mother and father to cover it. When Wally heard that, he was devastated. He stopped going to therapy to help with the cost. He got a job at a retail store to help with bills. Wally wanted to find something to do to escape from the reality that he was in. That’s when he turned on the TV and saw Justin playing in the VHL. It was only one game, but it drew him in, and was hooked. When Justin heard that Wally was getting interested in hockey, he knew he had to help out in any way he could. He donated some of his old equipment from when he was in the juniors to Wally. Wally had to get some of the equipment adjusted, but it was free and he wasn’t arguing. He started in the juniors in high school. He was only allowed to go to games if he kept his grades up. This motivated him to keep his studies up and do well in school. Commuting to the games took a huge toll on the family, financially and mentally. This caused a great divide in the family. His home life changed, he was a burden on the family. He realized this and was heartbroken. He knew that he had to go to a college away from his family. He couldn’t afford to go to a big-league school, so he went to what was affordable to him. College was a new adventure for Wally. He never lived by himself and he was financially responsible for only himself. This was going to be a big challenge for him. On the ice, he was a different person. He was shining bright on the team. When the team figured out that he had financial issues, they all banded together to get the college to get him a full-ride scholarship. He didn’t know it was the teammates that did that. He thought the admins saw how important he was for the team. He was grateful and treated the team like family. During college, he tried to rekindle the relationship with his parents. Now that they didn’t have to worry about payments or sending money to Wally, they were open to talking again. They were proud of how he was developing. They realized that he wasn’t going to be coming home for a while which hurt them. They understood that his studies were important and that this was the correct thing to do. Wally found his stride in the college hockey program. He was scoring easily against the other colleges. He knew that he needed a bigger challenge. After his junior year of college, he dropped out and declared himself for the VHLM waivers. His teammates felt betrayed but understood. They knew that he wanted a challenge instead of staying in the college program. Justin called him when he heard the news. He talked about how this was a big step and to be ready to be humbled. Things aren’t always greener on the other side. Wally was ready for the next step though.
  7. Wally Lose - LW - USA Bio Wally Lose is a second-generation player for the VHLM. The grandchild of VHL player Justin Lose. Carrying on his legacy, Wally wants to continue his grandfather's legacy. Wally just wrapped up his 2nd season, his first full season, in the minor league. He has also represented Team USA the past 2 seasons in the WJC. He has not gotten a medal yet. He was drafted to the Rome Gladiators in the 3rd round. He will be moving up to Rome to continue his journey to the VHL where he was drafted to the Los Angeles Stars. He hopes to crack the VHL roster in 1 to 2 seasons. Quote "My time with the Lynx was amazing. It was great to go deep in the playoffs like that. The outcome was not ideal, but it's something I can take in stride and learn from. The draft day experience for the VHLE and VHL was outstanding as well. I never would have dreamed of getting drafted 20th overall by the Stars. I'm hoping that I will live up to the hype. It's also something I can brag about to my grandpa since he was drafted 26th overall in his respective draft." Stats WJC - Regular Season Team USA - Season 93 - 8 GP - 0 G - 0 A - 0 P - +1 - 7 SHT - 0 PIM - 10 HIT - 0 SB - 0 GW - 0 PPG - 0 SHG Team USA - Season 92 - 8 GP - 2 G - 0 A - 2 P - -2 - 12 SHT - 2 PIM - 13 HIT - 1 SB - 0 GW - 1 PPG - 0 SHG WJC - Playoffs Team USA - Season 93 - 1 GP - 0 G - 0 A - 0 P - +1 - 1 SHT - 0 PIM - 0 HIT - 0 SB - 0 GW - 0 PPG - 0 SHG Team USA - Season 92 - 2 GP - 0 G - 1 A - 1 P - -2 - 1 SHT - 4 PIM - 3 HIT - 0 SB - 0 GW - 1 PPG - 0 SHG VHLM - Regular Season Ottawa Lynx - Season 93 - 72 GP - 29 G - 26 A - 55 P - +35 - 222 SHT - 26 PIM - 86 HIT - 10 SB - 6 GW - 7 PPG - 0 SHG Mexico City Kings - Season 92 - 20 GP - 3 G - 7 A - 10 P - -11 - 49 SHT - 22 PIM - 25 HIT - 2 SB - 0 GW - 2 PPG - 0 SHG Pros Sniper Mentality - He is willing to forecheck hard to get the puck to the net. He was the finisher on the team with more goals than assists. A great option for the powerplay. Hitting - Although he didn’t start with a lot of hits in his first season, he learned to throw his body around. His physical game assists in creating space around him for scoring capabilities. Getting pucks on the net - 222 shots on net during the season showcases how he is trying to get a spark of offense. He should be converting more on the shots if there was anything to nitpick about. Cons Consistency - He has been very hit-and-miss on getting to practice every week. He tries to keep an open communication whenever possible. Something that he should be working on in the offseason. Speed - He was caught a lot in the VHLM due to the lack of speed. He should be placed on sprints during practice to get him to build up his stamina and speed. Shotblocking - He doesn’t get in front of the puck often. He’s been working on his physical game with hits but is neglecting to lay his body on the line for blocking shots. Final Thoughts A determined player ready to leap to the next level. He should transition well and make it to the big leagues by Season 95 or Season 96.
  8. 1. It's been slow. I've been getting a lot of draft interviews for the E and VHL. So that's fun. 2. I just hope I go somewhere fun. I don't mind where I go. 3. Probably Davos. Sorry, not sorry. 4. I haven't had a chance to really have a full season with you @Hogan. It was very nice and I enjoyed it! 5. I am an IT specialist for an insurance company. It has it's days. 6. I always wanted to be a roller coaster designer. I was told there is no money in it though. Boo.
  9. 1. I think I did okay. Nothing spectacular. Hopefully I can change that in the 2nd round. 2. Yes I have. I was rooting for my Islanders, but it wasn't meant to be 3. I'd say it was an enjoyable regular season. It was nice to be apart of the group in the discord. I'd say just waiting for sims in the morning. 4. One thing I'd change would be that my player would be a bigger part of the scoring. My player was very hot and cold. 5. I only use dark mode. This goes for everything I use. If there's an option to switch, I do it. 6. VHL used to and I sorta used it once in a while. I'd say it's not really needed since it's all forum based.
  10. @N0HBDY this is game 5. Not 6
  11. 1. I think if we can keep the ball rolling, we will do well in playoffs. We just have to stay focused. 2. I think my player did alright. Nothing special, unfortunately. 3. I hope we win the Founders Cup. For runner-up, I'd have to say Saskatoon. 4. I have! I just went to a Vegas Golden Knights game back in March. I've been to a few Isles games too. 5. Halo 3. That was my jam every day after school. 6. I think our key to success was staying together as a team. We have a great group of players and just sticking with it really pays off.
  12. @Mysterious_Fish asked me to run round 1 as they were busy. So you're stuck with me (for now). Another year, another disappointing cup run for [insert your favorite team here]! To drown your sorrows, have some bonus TPE! The form will close at 6 pm EST on Monday, 4/22. ROUNDS WILL BE RELEASED AS SOON AS THE MATCHUPS ARE SET*. *Unless NHL decides to start Round 2 early for some reason. Then I will do East / West if necessary. SCORING SYSTEM (like last year) Max - 225 points Series winner - 10 points Series Length (doesn't have to be the winner) - 5 points TPE PAYOUT Stanley Cup Champs in round 1 - 4 additional TPE 1st - 6 TPE 2-3 - 5 TPE 4-5 - 4 TPE 6-10 - 3 TPE 11-20 - 2 TPE 21+ - 1 TPE HERE IS ROUND 1!! GOOD LUCK!!! Check to see if you completed it!
  13. 1. Yes! It has been crazy. I didn't think my Islanders would get in, but then we clinched 3rd in the metro! Insane!!! 2. I enjoy watching Jason Belmonte bowl. Just watching how calm and collected he is while under a lot of pressure is inspiring. 3. I think it is great! We need some more firepower and it will work out in our favor. 4. I think my answer would be no with how well the team has been doing. I believe messing up the chemistry would be detrimental. 5. This is an odd question, but I'd probably go with Mario saying, "Let's a-go!". It'd be a funny thing to hear in a serious game. 6. I've tried to recruit people but my immediate circle isn't into hockey and I don't think they would want to do this type of work every week. Sorry
  14. Game 115: Another night for hockey in Miami as they welcome the Saskatoon Wild into town. Miami is looking to bounce back at home after their loss to the Mississauga Hounds and the Saskatoon Wild are looking to build some momentum after getting the victory at home versus Mexico City. Miami has not had the greatest record so far this season, so they are looking to keep up with the pack and get a big 2 points at home. They would get the fans rocking early on the powerplay with Mathias Gunnarsson getting their 2nd goal this season. 7 minutes later the Wild would tie things up with Jacob Longstreet's 10th goal of the season. Shots were 9 to 9 in the first period. The second period is where Miami starts to collapse just like against the Hounds. They would concede 2 goals by Bollos de Trueno's 3rd goal and Oliver Loo's 18th goal respectively. That goal would put Loo in the top 2 in goals scored this season. The Wild are very happy with their growth this season. Both goals would come on the powerplay as well, so some undisciplined hockey from the Marauders. In the third period, the Marauders would try to get the comeback going by scoring a shorthanded goal by Aiden Paige. That would be Paige's 12th goal of the season. This would hype up the crowd early in the third. Leon Bruhmaninho's 13th goal would quiet the crowd and the comeback with less than 2 minutes left in the game. With that goal, Dakota Nachbaur would pick up their second assist this evening. This would be the first of 2 back to back games for these teams as they will face off later this week in a rematch. The Marauders will look for revenge against the Wild.
  15. Game 114: In a stacked Western Conference, every point matters. This is the case for the Houston Bulls as they look to get crucial 2 points against Eastern Conference Halifax 21st, while the Halifax 21st is looking to catch up to the Ottawa Lynx in the standings. The 21st is looking to get the crowd going early at home, but an early diving penalty quickly takes the wind out of that sail. The Bulls cash in on that powerplay by Filip Zinek, their 14th goal of the season. It has been an incredible season so far for Zinek and that goal puts them in the top 5 goals in the league. A few minutes later, Wladyslaw Mintus scores their 3 goal of the season for Houston. It's also Charlie klepacki's 2nd assist on the night. Houston would be outshot 8 to 5 in the 1st period, but scoring 2 goals on Jon Webber III. After that eventful 1st period, the 2nd and 3rd periods went quiet for both teams. They both went into a defensive stance as both goalies stood strong. Unfortunately for the 21st, their time ran out on getting a goal in the evening as they got shut out at home by Herald Benson. Benson would stop all 26 shots to be the night's first star of the game. Houston will go home with a solid 2 points while Halifax continue their homestand with a game against the Ottawa Lynx.
  16. 1. I feel good about the season so far! I think my player is very hot and cold. It's very strange. He will be scoring a bunch and then just go cold and be off the score sheet. 2. I spend too much time on discord, so discord. I mainly check the forum for content. 3. I love pretzels. Pretzel nuggets with peanut butter is S+ tier. 4. I want to get my Defense or Skating up next after getting my PS up. PS seems to be working well on the shootouts so far! 5. Probably NANANANANANA by My Chemical Romance. I feel like it would be fitting. 6. Founders Cup easily. You don't get remembered for an individual trophy, you get remembered for winning a cup.
  17. Trading so early in the season is weird.
  18. Game 4: Banner raising night for the Philadelphia Reapers! An emotional moment for all the Reapers player after a dominating playoff run. They look to start their season off with a win to begin their repeat bid. The Houston Bulls are looking to start off the season with a win against the Champs to send a message to the rest of the league. A quiet start in the first period as both goalies stood tall. The party didn't start until the 2nd period. Unfortunately the party wasn't for the Reapers as they hoped. Hulk Smash started the party for Houston with the first goal just 19 seconds into the 2nd period. Not to be outdone by their teammate, Filip Zinek, scored 6 minutes later to join in the fun for Houston. Enn Jinn tried to spoil the party scoring 18 mins into the period. Spoiling the party it did not. Filip Zinek completes the hat trick with 2 goals in the 3rd period with a goal at 8 minutes and then sealing it at 19 minutes. Houston completes the party with a 4-1 victory over the Reapers.
  19. Game 2: Viva Las Vegas! It's opening day in Las Vegas as the visiting mississauga hounds looks to play spoiler. But it didn't take long for the good times to start rolling in Vegas as Masa Akimoto scores in the first 2 minutes of the game. That was the only goal scored of the first period. It was a goalie battle in the second period as both goalies stopped all shots in front of them. The third period is where things started to open up. Pombo got the Vegas crowd roaring as they double their lead just 20 seconds into the period on the powerplay. 6 minutes later Trevon Rider scored another goal for Vegas. The team was buzzing. Unfortunately, the shutout bid was ended when C2 scored just 2 minutes later. That would be their only goal as Pombo scored later on for their 2nd goal of the game. The final score being 4-1 Aces.
  20. 1. I'd say our goalie has the best name on the team. Hugo Boss. It's intimidating and tough sounding. Final boss energy. 2. I'm trying to build a shoot first player. Sort of like a sniper build and a finisher. Essentially a powerplay quarterback. 3. Honestly both have their perks. The old one was more rigid and fierce. It was very flat though. It'd probably look great on a shoulder as an alternative logo. The new is very defined and detailed. It doesn't have that fierce / intimidating factor though. I would say if it was showing teeth it would be better. 4. Right now, it sucks that I have to hot the welfare button. Working full time in the office is really draining. Especially IT work. I hope to hit that creative juice again and earn all 12 again. For now, I'll do my best to earn as much as possible. I guess that's why I wasn't taken in the early rounds. 5. I think the nature of sths it will always be assists first. The dream would be goals first. I think my player will settle into a 80 ~ 90 point season. 6. I don't mind it. I like it as I usually check forum content so this will be a nice reminder to do it.
  21. 1. We have a good chance of doing some damage this season. It'll be nice to be on a new team as well. 2. I'm shocked at how far down I went in the draft. I guess it was that deep this year. 3. I'm very excited to get started. It's nice to be in the VHLM again. 4. I think it'll be one of the higher-ranked people on the team. Or a returning vet. 5. I'm a vet so I'm getting back in the swing of things. It's weird being in the VHLM again. 6. I think it would be Bo Horvat. He's a great player and would represent me perfectly.
  22. 1. I think we can get it to game 7 and make a run. Unfortunately, our run was cut short. 2. I think we all did well, but we weren't the better team in the end. 3. It would have been very close. We have a good squad that could have done some damage. 4. Right now, I'm going to be working on myself to get ready for the VHLM draft. 5. The perfect pizza is plain. I said it. 6. Of course. Sometimes the simple questions are the best.
  23. 1. This is gonna be an intense series. A lot of history between these two teams. I'm confident that we can get the series win though. 2. Right now my player is playing like I expected. I'm still fresh to the team so I'm not at my peak performance yet. 3. I think a good name would be the Mexico City Coliseum. That way our fans could give thumbs down to the opposing team. 4. Defense wins games. Clutch goals will be needed, but our D-core can do it. 5. I've bowled in 2 out of state bowling tournaments and have medaled in one of the 3 pairs so far. I'm trying to go 3 for 3 this weekend. 6. Being able to hang out with friends and do things I never thought I could. For example, I'm going to a bowling tournament this weekend and I'm excited to see old friends!
  24. "Alright kid, it's your time to shine. I'm putting you on the third line with the other new guys. This is your chance to do great things for this team. Don't let us down." - Mexico City Kings GM before Wally's first game. Wally Lose gets set to take the ice before his first-ever VHLM game. This is also the first time in a long time since someone from the Lose family has stepped foot on VHLM ice. Wally knows he has big shoes to fill. Wally Lose is the grandchild of professional VHL star, Justin Lose. He follows in his footsteps by signing with his grandpa's old team, Mexico City Kings, which Justin spent 1 season with before getting called to the Riga Reign. That was 17 seasons ago though. "It's very nerve-wracking. I'm trying to make my name in this league, not just because my last name is Lose." - Wally on being compared to Justin. What will this season bring to Wally? Will he follow in his Grandpa's footsteps and lead the Kings to a deep playoff push?
