The Philadelphia Reapers have missed the playoffs in season 74 of the VHLM. With the Miami Marauders getting 3 of the last 3 games with a record of 32 - 38 - 2 for 66 points. Even though it was impossible for the Reapers to get the spot, they fought hard going 1-1 in their final 2 games for a record of 28-37-7 for 63 points. Here are some reactions from players in the Reapers locker room and a mini interview with Darius Marimoto.

"It's tough when you put everything out on the ice and you come up short to playoffs like that. I wanted to win and help the Reapers but I guess I have to direct my attention to the draft now. If this is my last game with the Reapers I enjoyed every second of it. Being the first team to sign me really gave me a boost in my confidence. I can't wait to get on the ice next season!" - Justin Lose - RW

"I have to say congrats to Miami it was hard fought battle. It sucks we didn't make it into the playoffs this year, but I'm confident in this team. Next year is Phillys year." - Carson Walkers - RW

"Obviously it sucks not making the playoffs. I feel that our team was really coming together at the end of the season. Less than half our roster played the entire season. We got much stronger once we signed new players and filled out our roster. Although our place in the standings might not be considered a success, I think the season was successful because we uncovered new talent I expect to be stars in the future. I can’t thank the players enough for all their effort and hard work. I hope we’re able to get some of them back in a Reapers uniform next season." - DMaximus - GM of the Philadelphia Reapers

    Interview
I'm now joined with Darius Marimoto. Thank you so much for your time as you are clearing out your locker. I know its heartbreaking to have your season cut short, but...
How do you feel about missing the playoffs?

"Well, I wouldn't think too much of this season, and more of the seasons to follow. But, we need to learn on our mistakes and use that as a foundation for our focuses next season. That's the bottom line, no silver lining, no candy coating."

Amazing stuff Darius. Speaking of next season...
Do you feel ready to make the jump to the VHL after spending 3 seasons in the VHLM?

"I wouldn't say I'm 100 percent until I hit 250 TPE. I want to make sure that my game is polished and ready for the pressure of the VHL. Next season, I feel like I will be ready to take that next step though."

Thank you for the honest answer Darius. I won't keep you any longer. I appreciate your time and good luck in the future.

"Thank you for hosting this interview." - Darius Marimoto

As I was leaving the locker room I felt the disappointment and down mood amongst the players and coaches. It's a tough pill to swallow that all your work in the season doesn't get you into the playoffs. Hopefully this will be a driving motivation to get back to the playoffs next season!

The VHLM season is coming to the end with only a handful of games left. There is one spot that is still being contested. Philadelphia Reapers and Miami Marauders are fighting for the last spot in their conference. Let's take a deep dive in how these teams got here and what needs to happen for both teams!

    Philadelphia Reapers - 70 GP - 27 - 36 - 7 - 61 Points

    Overview
The Reapers hold the final spot in the Eastern conference. With 27 wins on the years with 61 points, they hold a 1 point lead over the Marauders. In a head to head battle with the Marauders the Reapers are 3-4-1. In the last 10 games for the Reapers they went 6-4-0.

    Leaders
Their starting goalie, Jacob Carson [70 GP - 27 - 36 - 7] has a .885 save% and a 2.97 GAA. Darius Marimoto is the leader in points with 70 in 70GP and Carson Walkers is the leader in goals with 32 in 70GP.

    Final Games
The final two games for the Reapers are against the Ottawa Lynx and The Mississauga Hounds. Versus the Lynx the Reapers are 2-5-0. The Lynx are currently 3rd in the East with 76 points. They can neither move up nor down with a W or L against the Reapers. Versus the Hounds the Reapers are 2-4-1. The Hounds are currently in 2nd in the East with 107 points. They can neither move up nor down with a W or L against the Reapers.

    Clinching Scenario
Two incredibly difficult hills to climb for the Reapers to make it to the playoffs. The Reapers max points are 65 and min is 61 points. The Reapers have less ROW wins compared to the Marauders so they have to beat them in points to clinch.

    Miami Marauders - 69 GP - 29 - 38 - 2 - 60 Points

    Overview
Hunting for the final spot is the Miami Marauders. They are currently sitting 1 point out of playoffs with 60 compared to the Reapers 61. They do have one game in hand compared to the Reapers. In the last 10 games the Marauders are 4-5-1.

    Leaders
Their starting goalie, Rara Rasputin [64 GP - 28 - 34 - 2] has a .878 save% and a 3.25 GAA. Eoin Byrne leads the point total with 77 in 69 GP. Peter Louis II and Chicken Wing both lead the team in goals with 28 in 69 GP.

    Final Games
Miami has 3 games left in the season. They are up against Minnesota Storm, San Diego Marlins and the Saskatoon Wild. Against the Minnesota Storm the Marauders are 5-2-0. Minnesota is last in the East and can't move up with only 35 points. Against the San Diego Marlins the Marauders are 4-0-0. The Marlins are last in the West and can't move up with only 23 points. Against the Saskatoon Wild the Marauders are 2-2-0. The Wild are 3rd in the West and can't move up or down with a W or L against the Marauders.

    Clinching Scenario
The Marauders have an easier schedule compared to the Reapers, but with 3 games to play, stranger things have happened. Marauders have the ROW advantage so they don't have to win all 3 to make it. The Marauders max point total is 66 and min is 60. The Marauders can clinch a playoff spot if, the Reapers win 2 but the Marauders get 2 wins / the Reapers lose both games and Marauders win 1.

    Final Thoughts
Playoff hockey is the toughest of any sport. It also brings out the best in everyone to grind to the cup. The Reapers and Marauders are both going to go out and lay everything out to win their spot into the playoffs. In an unbiased opinion I would say the Miami Marauders have the best chance to get into the playoffs based on the final 3 teams they are facing. Two of the worst records in the VHLM and a team with nothing to lose. The Reapers have a rough road ahead of them if they want to make it to the playoffs! Tune in to the final games to see who makes it to the big dance.

Thanks for the tips. I definitely wanted to do something simple and not overly complicated nor complex. I will try to include some of the suggestions you put. I do agree it was lacking that final touch. I use paint.net, so I don't have the professional tools like photoshop. 7.5 for something I didn't have 100% confidence in when looking at other way better photos here is a real uplift! Thanks again for the review and suggestions.

youloser1337 got a reaction from DMaximus in Meet The Crew: An Exclusive Interview With Justin Lose - UPDATED - Season Ending Interview
This week on Meet The Crew I sat down with the newest member of the league, Justin Lose. He is one of the up and coming talents that are looking to break into the lineups and dominate the league. Let's get started with the newest player.

Interviewer: Welcome! Thank you so much for accepting the offer for your first interview in the league.
Lose: Thank you for the warm welcome. I appreciate it and I'm very excited to finally talk about everything.\

I: Let's get started then. I'll start off easy. How did you get into the sport of hockey growing up?
L: Well I started out young. I never cared for football or soccer. My parents wanted me out of the house and to have friends since I wasn't social at school. They actually won tickets to see a VHL game and I was instantly hooked!

I: That's amazing. I saw your junior report, it says that you were basically bullied in peewee hockey?
L: My coach was very tough on me. I said I wanted to the best player in the world and they laughed at me. It was a hit on my ego at the time. I didn't let that stop me though. Once I was out of peewee and joined the school hockey team it was a lot better. Juniors was the best in my pro career right now.

I: Do you feel like you proved yourself in juniors and do you think you can fill those same shoes in the VHL?
L: My sophomore year in junior was the best year of my life. I felt on top of the world and I felt like I proved that I belonged when I scored that game seven overtime goal. My old peewee coach was at that game too. I think he wanted me to lose again. As for the VHL its tough. You always stride to be the best player on the ice and to do that you have to work hard. I know it's not going to be easy and I'm ready for the challenge.

I: You recently signed a contract with The Philadelphia Reapers. How did that feel?
    Contract: 1 year - $1,500,000.00
L: It felt great. I can't wait to finally get on the ice and prove that they made the right choice in picking me. The VHLM is tough and I can't wait to get to play a professional level game of hockey!

I: That first pay check must be amazing. What are you going to do with it?
L: I honestly don't know. I didn't think about that. [Both laugh]. I'll probably absent mindedly buy food or something dumb like that without thinking about it.

I: Is it hockey 24/7 for you?
L: Obviously I take all my hockey games and practices seriously, but on off days I usually relax and not think about hockey. I enjoy video games and cooking. Nothing better than a victory and playing some video games the next day with friends.

I: One final question. With a last name like Lose, do you feel like people overlook you and pick on you?
L: Honestly I don't mind the name calling and jokes about my last name. I'm so used to it and I've heard every joke imaginable. People always overlook me. In gym at school I'm always picked last, never get called on or have any close friends. The only friends I have are from hockey. They don't overlook me. They realize the potential I have. My peewee coach was my toughest critic and today I'm ready to start a game in the VHLM. Who is laughing now?

I: Inspiring stuff Justin. Thank you so much for your time and I wish you the best of luck in the season.
L: Thank you for the chance to talk. No one has interviewed me like this before. I can't wait to start!

There you have it. Justin Lose is ready to prove to the world that he isn't a Loser. With a one year contract with Philadelphia, he is determined to jumpstart his career. We will follow up with Justin Lose after his first year in the VHLM!
