  1. We are just over a third of the way through the Season 83 VHL Season, and the Chicago Phoenix are turning heads in the North American Conference. Through 25 games, the Phoenix are 13-11-1 and are in sole position of third place in the NA with 27 points. The three-headed rookie trio of The Board Game Clue On Skates, Scotty Sundin, and Bo Johansson continue to make waves throughout the league. Many hockey pundits expected the Phoenix to start turning the corner this season, but surely nobody expected the team to surge up the standings the way they have thus far. It's still early in the season, and the youngsters have yet to face much adversity throughout the campaign to date, but Chicago is slowly turning nay-sayers into believers one day at a time. Don't expect any splashy trades this season at the trade deadline though. Look for Chicago to stay the course and stick to their plan. The team is only going to get better in the next couple of seasons, and Chicago fans have tons of reasons to get excited for what's to come down the road!
  2. We are about a week into the VHL season and there is no shortage of interesting storylines developing throughout the league. In the North American Conference. Seattle has gotten off to a decent start and sit atop the standings with a 7-2-0 record. Meanwhile over in the European Conference, things are a bit more lopsided. London and Moscow currently hold the top spots with 15 and 14 ponits respectively, while Riga is right behind them with 13. One of the teams who has surprised some people thus far though has been the Chicago Phoenix. As many of you know, the Phoenix have been knees-deep in a rebuild for the last season or two, but this season they are finally starting to see the fruits of their labour. Chicago is rolling out four rookie players in their active lineup this season, and so far they have jumped in head first and have done great. Leading them has been their forward The Board Game Clue On Skates, who is red hot to start the year. He has seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in total, which is seventh in the league in points, which is best amongst all rookies. Clue has connected with fellow rookie teammate Bo Johansson frequently, and the duo are giving the team a lot of early success as the Phoenix currently sit fourth in the NA conference.

  4. NEW YORK AMERICANS PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of Apr 24/22 1) The first handful of games for this season have finally happened. How is your player feeling after the first handful of games? 2) If your player was a multi-sport athlete, what other sport do you think they would excel in and why? 3) The Reinhart brothers have arrived in New York. They have both been in the league a few years now, but have only ever known success and winning. This will be the first taste of adversity in their careers. What do you expect from them going forward or how do you think they will handle it? 4) There are rumors swirling that sophomore Vasile Lamb could be on the move before the end of his entry-level contract. Do you think trading away the young phenom is a bad move or a good move? 5) Did you participate in VHFL this season? If so how do you think you did? If not, have you ever done VHFL in the past and if so how did you do? 6) We are almost through April and summer is quickly sneaking up on us. Do you have any plans for yourself this summer?

  11. NEW YORK AMERICANS PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of Apr 17/22 1) The New York Americans recently traded a couple of future picks to Vancouver in exchange for Jerome and Tyler Reinhart. What do you think of this trade and how do you think the Reinhart brothers will do in New York? 2) We are on the cusp of starting Season 83 with games starting next week. While we have drafted a couple solid players in the draft this offseason, and acquired a couple of high end players, we are still missing some essential pieces to be a complete team. How do you expect the team will compete in this upcoming season? 3) What goals do you have for your player this season either TPE-earning wise or statistically speaking? 4) In NHL broadcasts, you sometimes hear the commentators say the Stanley Cup is the hardest trophy to win in all of sports. Do you agree with this. If so, why? If not, what championship trophy do you think is the hardest to win? 5) Who is your pick to win the Continental Cup this year and why do you think they will win? Also what is your prediction for the final? (which two teams and in how many games will the series go) 6) What is your favourite jersey in all of sports? It can be a home, road, alternate, anything you want!
  12. We are mere days away from the opening of the 83rd VHL Season, and it has a long and action-packed offseason which results in a lot of new faces in new places. Among them are Jerome and Tyler Reinhart, the brothers from Greenland who are two of the most decorated stars in the VHL in the current era. The Reinhart brothers were both drafted in the Season 79 VHL Entry Draft and wasted to no time making an impact in Vancouver. Together, they helped lead the Wolves to three straight Continental Cups. The New York Americans' brass are hoping to bring that winning tradition to The Big Apple. With their ability on the ice combined with their veteran leadership off the ice, the front office in New York is confident they will make a huge positive impact on the club. The brothers will look to mentor budding superstar Vasile Lamb, the New York Americans' first overall pick in last years draft. The season gets underway this coming week, so we will get to see the Reinhart brothers in action soon enough!

  16. CHICAGO PHOENIX SELECT SCOTTY SUNDIN FIRST OVERALL The highly anticipated Season 83 VHL Entry Draft took place in London, England at the O2 Arena last night, and as many pundits and prognosticators had suggested, the Chicago Phoenix selected the Swedish center Scotty Sundin with their first overall pick. Sundin comes from the Houston Bulls organization that was a dominant team in the VHLM last season, but ultimately fell short in game 7 of the Founder's Cup Finals in the playoffs. After putting up 129 points in the regular season, Sundin led all players in the playoffs with 31 points. While Sundin was the consensus number one pick in most hockey circles, there was a little speculation on whether Chicago GM would in fact take the Swedish phenom, or opt to draft goalie prospect Brandt Fuhr. Though Chicago passed on Fuhr, the young goalie wouldn't have to wait long to hear his name get called as Vancouver selected him with the very next pick as they look to begin rebuilding after a successful three-peat of the Continental Cup. Rounding out the top three was Igor Molotov, who went to the Malmo Nighthawks. Molotov led the VHLM in almost all offensive categories last season and the Nighthawks will sure be building around him for seasons to come. The only real surprise in the first round of the draft was when the New York Americans opted to trade down instead of taking a defenseman at pick 5. Instead they took a goalie at pick 10. Getting back to Chicago though, the Phoenix are finally starting to take shape after a rough season last year. The team is very clearly still in rebuild mode, but Sundin will be a great compliment to the other pieces already on the team. The most notable of these players are Board Game Clue On Skates (or Clue for short) and Bo Johansson, a pair of Season 82 draftees who both are ready to join Sundin and make the jump to the pro team this coming season. The team also has a surprisingly strong Dutch representation as both their starting goalie and top winger are from the Nederlands. Chicago seems to have its foundation for the future in place, now it will just be about adding some complimentary pieces to help bolster the lineup. Training camps just opened this weekend and all the young guns were present and seen taking skating drills and getting to know each other. There is still a bit of time until puck drop on the Season 83 season, but there is certainly a buzz flowing through the Windy City though in anticipation for the start of the season. This season will mark a new era in the VHL as many of the top teams are rebuilding and alot of players are changing the way they prepare for the season. It will be exciting to see what players emerge as league leaders. The Phoenix may not be a playoff team yet, but they certainly look poised to rise from the ashes of last season!
  17. Review: This is an awesome graphic and there is a ton of stuff to like about it. First off, I love that its not an entirely filled out background and that it's kinda like a wavy or cloud shaped backdrop. This eliminates the need to fill out a lot of the empty space that would have existed, and it's a clever way to get around that issue. Instead, you have a nice simplistic graphic but it doesn't feel devoid of anything. The blue filter over top of the city landscape looks great. The font for Florida Man is well placed, stands out great and is easy to read. And finally, the render is nice and crisp and in the forefront and the logo swap on the jersey is beautifully done. In a league that's been littered with a lot of low-end graphics in recent memory, this is a nice and simple, yet very esthetically pleasing image. Great job! 9/10
  18. The year is now 2059. VHL offseason is halfway done but the memories of the past season are a distant memory, nay, a myth at this point. People fondly recall the hybrid attribute system rolling out and the excitement that it caused. The pure joy and adulation that the "meta era" had finally died was surging through the league. Then there was the hype of the VHL Draft. Scotty Sundin went first overall and gave the Chicago Phoenix fans some more hope that their future core had been solidified. Vancouver had begun their rebuilding process and drafted Brandt Fuhr as their goaltender of the future. But years past. Then decades. Our kids became grandkids, and their kids grew up as well. But don't you worry, VHL PRESEASON is just around the corner. And just before the turn of the century, the 83rd season will kickoff! Who is ready for some hockey!?!
  19. NEW YORK AMERICANS PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of Apr 10/22 1) The VHL Draft was this week and the New York Americans were able to secure their future starting goalie, as well as a future forward with their two first round picks. How would you rate the Americans' draft? 2) We are on what feels like the 50th week of the offseason. What does your player like to do with their free time in the offseason? 3) What teams do you think will emerge as contenders in the post-meta era of the VHL and why? 4) How do you feel about you new build heading into the new season? Alternatively what are some of the best or worst builds you've seen around the league? 5) Auston Matthews just potted his 57th and 58th goals and seems like a lock to net 60 by season's end. Do you think he has surpassed Connor McDavid this season for best player in the league, or do you think someone outside these two players is even better? 6) The baseball season started this week. April is one of the best times of year because NBA and NHL are both wrapping up and about to start playoffs, you have the Masters this weekend, and baseball is finally in full swing. What sports do you like to watch during your freetime, and which teams are your favourites?
