  1. It's his destiny to play for Riga and be known as RIGA MORTIS
  2. Honestly, being compared to Hylands is an honour in itself. I have no issue with this.
  3. #HORNSUP Houston Bulls squad looking WELL represented this draft, good shit homies!
  4. We are quickly approaching the VHL Draft, and my personal excitement is gaining momentum day by day. It's an interesting time here in the VHL. I do a lot of bitching and groaning about a lot of stuff I don't particularly agree with happening behind the scenes. I hate a lot of the changes that happen concerning the VHLM and consequently the VHLE. But despite all that, I am pretty excited about the new hybrid attributes that have rolled out. I love the feeling of nobody really knowing what's best right now. There's no roadmap on how to build your player optimally...at least not yet. So the next few seasons really oughta be interesting to see in terms of individual player results. I think this really should help incentivize the high earners, or at least I hope that's how STHS will work. When we were still in the meta, I was planning on coasting once I got to around 600 TPE because anything past that was legitimately not necessary. But now, I feel like I am gonna need every bit of TPE I can get again to maximize my player's potential, and that's a good thing. This all coincides with me going in the VHL Draft too so that makes it even more fun for me. I am excited to see where I will go and hopefully my player isn't complete dogshit next season when I am playing up in the VHL. We will see soon enough! Best of luck to all my fellow draftees in the draft!
  5. They may have traded Taylor, but Malmo will be mourning for a long time.
  6. shoveling some more dirt on the grave of the VHLM lol
  7. we gave er our best shot @Rhynex Entertainment! I enjoyed being teammates with you buddy
  8. Despite taking the hard L in the finals, it was a fun year @BOOM. Best of luck in the draft my dude! 1. With the drafts coming up do you have a specific team you want to play in any of the leagues? There's a couple places I'm hoping I wouldn't end up, but for the most I am pretty open. Oh but not in the E, absolutely fucking not there. 2. What is one thing your player strives on? Comradery. I wanna gel with my teammates and let them know I got their back and they should have mine. I really am all about soaking up the team atmosphere and winning as a team or losing as a team. It's about the friendships you make along the way, yknow? Sure I wanna get good results, don't get me wrong... but Id rather be a mediocre team that has a LR that is poppin then a powerhouse team with nobody saying fuck all. 3. Who did you have the best chemistry with this season? Naturally Boomer and I have always gotten along great. I was AGM in NYA for a season with Rhynex, but it was fun being teammates and I loved his media spot work throughout the season. Eagle was fun bringing in at the TDL, fun guy to have in the locker room... always loved getting him wound up about me jinxing the club. It was a fun season. 4. What is one thing your player struggles with? Haha over-confidence? I mean hey if it's a crime to believe in your teammates, lock me up, guilty as charged! 5. What is your Favourite Hobby? Competitive speed-shitting. I've come a long ways and hit some personal bests this month. The key is a low-lactose diet! 6. Which VHL, VHLE or VHLM team has the best logo? I think Malmo is pretty fire, them or DC for the best. Never seen any of the E logos though so who really knows? I'm sure they are shit though.
  9. I'd like to start a pact with all other Centers in the VHL to boycott TPE spending on faceoffs. My sweet TPE has dwindled away to nothing, let's band together!! #40FaceoffsGang

We should call it The Board Game Clue On Skates Award. Cause I see him being up there a fair bit in his career.

Just boycott TPE spending completely. Team Zero!

  11. yeah when i looked at the boxscores that was my first thought. It was a pretty well fought series tbh, Thad had an amazing playoffs.
  12. You know the thing about unwritten rules is... they don't exist. So people can bitch and moan all they want, but the fact is Vancouver didn't break any established rules, and that's more on the league then it is the GM. It is what it is, congrats to the players on Vancouver. Also I am doing a review for game 4. VHL Continental Cup Finals- Game 4 VAN wins 4-0 Game 4 finally has come and gone and the result seemed like a inevitability. The Wolves were looking to break out the brooms to deny Moscow for the third straight season in the finals. For all crying the VHL mob has been doing about Vancouver, this was a super close contest that saw chances back and forth for the entire game. After 40 minutes, the game was tied at zeros, but things intensified in the third period. With less than two minutes into the third, Jerome Reinhart finally broke the deadlock after taking a sweet feed from his brother Tyler to put the Wolves up 1-0. Three minutes later, defenseman Corey Kitson connected on a goal assisted from both of the Reinhart brothers to add onto their lead. Halfway through the period, the Menace MVP Duncan Idaho cut the lead in half to make it 2-1, but that's as close as they would come as the Wolves would hold off a late flurry and finish their three-peat, much to the chagrin of the VHL masses. People will have their opinions, but you can't argue with history. Both goalies played out of their minds this game, but Thad Sales finished off his illustrious career with a 39 save effort. He is a serious contender for the Kanou, and it would be a nice feather in his cap to finish his career. On the flipside, this era of the Moscow Menace will be known as the Buffalo Bills of the VHL, losing in three straight finals.
  13. Review: While this looks fine visually, I think it is a little lacking for a 6 TPE graphic to be honest. The font you chose is a good size and the Leafs blue colour goes with the Matthews image and it's well placed and readable. I'm not sure if you added some colour or lighting effects but overall it looks pretty low-effort. There's lots you could have done here to spice it up a bit such as add some textures or effects over top of the image, done a logo swap on the Leafs jersey, or added your team logo or team name somewhere. For me there's just way too much blank space and the whole thing might have taken you a total of like three or four minutes lol. Nothing personal, just trying to get my reviews done for my weekly TPE. 3/10
  14. Well folks it's certainly been an exciting time for hockey fans all over the globe as various playoffs have all finally came to an end over the past few days. In the VHLM, the Saskatoon WIld completed their shocking playoff run and captured a Founder's Cup over the odds-on favourite Houston Bulls. Meanwhile in the pro league, the Vancouver Wolves once again toppled Moscow to successfully finish their three-peat and cement their legacy in the VHL record books forever. With all that said and done, we have officially reached the offseason, and their is already a ton of chatter over the upcoming draft and all the rule changes on the horizon for next season. We were able to catch up with Houston Bulls captain Scotty Sundin to pick his brain about the playoffs, and what is next for the budding superstar. Here is a transcript of that conversation, we hope you like it! VHL Insider: Hello Scotty, thank you for sitting down with us so quickly after your long and grueling playoff run. I suppose that's a good place to start. How are you feeling after coming up short in your pursuit for the Founder's Cup this season? The Bulls were a powerhouse all season, what happened? Scotty Sundin: Wow you guys hitting me with the tough questions right off the bat, eh? First off, hats off to the Wild organization. They battled all season long and were pretty much neck and neck with us for most of the season. They deserve it, one hundred percent. As for "what happened"... well that's a tough one to answer. I wouldn't attribute the result to any one thing really. No excuses, at the end of the day we were outplayed, not by much, but by enough. It's not like you can really point the finger at any one person to blame. We won as a team, and we lost as a team. I do think that with the way the VHLM is structured, it does mess with chemistry a bit when you have late season roster additions come in via waivers. Don't get me wrong, the players we brought in after the trade deadline were great, but it definitely changes the team dynamic when you get an influx of new faces so late into the season. VHL Insider: You infamously made some very bold claims both in the regular season and in the playoffs about winning it all. These comments drew the ire of some of the community and reportedly even some of the Bulls players and staff didn't love these remarks. If you could go back now, would you retract your comments ? Scotty Sundin: Absolutely not. I made the comments because I had 100 percent belief in my teammates and our ability to persevere as a club. Sure we came up a bit short, but we dominated the regular season and came up just short in Game 7 of the finals. That's hockey, that's how she goes. The real moment that haunts me is letting Game 5 slip away when we lost 7-6 in overtime. We should have sealed the deal right then and there but we didn't. But yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong with be confident and believing in yourself and in your teammates. If you look at the roster we had, a ton of these guys are gonna be going high in the draft, and that's a testament to just how talented we were. VHL Insider: I'm glad you mentioned the draft. The VHL Entry Draft is just around the corner, and there's also the VHLE Draft to consider. Have you heard from team representatives from either league yet, and if so, how do you feel about the upcoming drafts? Oh hold on a second Scotty.... **checks phone** Scotty I actually have some breaking news for you... the draft lottery results just came in and Chicago has won the rights to the first overall pick while Warsaw secured the second pick. Thoughts? Scotty Sundin: Wow, Chicago eh? Good for them, they've gone through a couple lean years, but they are definitely looking solid with the prospects they have coming up in their system. I've had talks with their GM and honestly, Chicago is a place I would love to play. Not sure if they are targeting me with their first overall pick, but yeah, I'd be honoured to play there. Just imagine the core of Bo Johansson, Clue and myself going forward there. That's one hell of a core to build around! But just in general, I have been telling teams that I am happy to play for pretty much anyone. My only caveat is that I want to immediately jump into the VHL next season. I've worked my ass off to get to where I am so far in my career, and I am ready to make the jump to the pros. I have absolutely zero percent interest in spending a season in VHLE. I compare it to Christmas when you have your whole family over. I want to sit at the adult table with the other grow-ups, not at the kiddy table with mouth breathing cousins who have gravy all of their stupid faces. Any VHL team that will allow me to play up next season is A-OK in my books. I'll take on any role you give me, just give me a shot to prove myself! VHL Insider: Wow Scotty is not mincing his words! There's the scoop folks, the man wants to play in the pros next season!! Well Scotty, that's all the time we have for today, but thanks again for sitting down with us and sharing your thoughts. It's going to be an interesting offseason to be sure! VHL fans will be waiting in anticipation for the upcoming draft to see where Sundin and all the other up-and-coming VHLM talent ends up. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled to VHL Insider to see when the official draft date and time is announced. (claiming for 2 weeks)
  15. why are you so self-centered? be happy for your teammates achievements
  16. 1. With the season drawing to an end, are you happy with how your player performed individually? Yeah I am happy with how Sundin panned out this season all things considered. But I wanna see him finish the deal in the finals tonight before being completely satisfied. 2. Are you happy with how the team performed as a whole? As you may have seen in some of my prior media spots, I love our team. We are a well oiled machine! I truly think we are the best team in the league bar none. 3. Heading into the off-season, what are your plans for your player? Time to get ready for the draft. I will be doing pre-draft interviews and starting to plan out the next stage of my career. But if we seal the deal and win the Founder's Cup, there will be some hardcore partying happening for about the next week straight! 4. Do you anticipate to be in the VHLM, VHLE, or VHL in the S83 season? I will 100 percent be playing in the VHL next season. I will be at the TPE threshold where I will literally be ineligible for the E. 5. What is your favorite thing to do in the summer? It is approaching quickly for us North Americans, but it's summer somewhere right? Nothing special to be honest, just working. I know this is weird, but I am not a huge summer guy. I like it when it's a little warm, but I hate when it's grossly hot outside. I'll take the cold Canadian winter over sweating my bag off all summer lol. 6. Which member has been the most helpful for you in your VHL experience? There are a handful, but Dooms and Ferk helped me a lot when I first broke into the league, Cow helped me on the team management side of things... there's lots of helpful people in the community thankfully.
  17. FUCKIN RIGHT BOYS LETS GO!!! I LOVE THIS TEAM!!! GET READY SASKY, WE COMIN FOR YOU!!!!! @Rhynex Entertainment love you buddy great post hahaha
  18. Hello, and welcome to my thread. I am fromtheinside, but my friends know me as Scotty. Today, I'd like to get a little something off my chest. I run a fantasy hockey league with many other VHL members and also a few of my other close friends outside of VHL. This week was our Finals Week and the final matchup for all the marbles ended up being @Ricer13 versus @Moon. Neither of these guys were perennial powerhouses during the regular season, but both guys had pretty decent rosters. Our league is scored by whoever wins more categories at the end of the week. There are about 14 categories in total, with five of them exclusively being GOALIE CATEGORIES. Most fantasy leagues have a rule that say you need to play your goalies at least 3 times per week and if you don't, you auto-lose all the goalie categories for that week's matchup. So here we are in the finals, its going right down the the wire. The last game of the week just ended and Ricer and Moon are tied 6-6. HOWEVER, Moon didn't get his fucking goalie starts in, so he will now lose all the goalie categories and as a result, lose the finals to Ricer. What an absolutely disappointing and cringe way to end the season. Feel free to use this thread to shame Moon.
