  1. HES BEEN SNIFFING CLUE GLUE?!?!? CONFIRMED???
  2. Breaking news has just came down from the IIHF competition committee. Sources have told various VHLM media outlets that Miami Marauders rookie phenom @Dom Igor Molotov has recently been tested for banned substances. There is a major belief from parties closely connected to the situation that Molotov could in fact test positive for doping and could therefore face serious repercussions! The Russians have had a spotty track record of doping in recent memory, many of you will recall the sanctions the IOC took against Russia for upcoming Olympic games. Russia has been banned and Russian athletes have been forced to go un stringent drug testing regiments and have to compete under the banner of "ROC" also known as the Russian Olympic Committee. Even after these measures, Russian athletes continue to be caught doping and the corruption is believed to come from influence from the Russian government. Molotov is currently smashing his competition in the VHLM this season. He leads the league in goals with 30 and points with 58. Should he test positive for illegal substances, his future will be in the hands of the VHLM commissioners and the VHL governing body. Depending on the results, his VHL Draft stock could greatly be affected. Keep it locked to VHL.com for all the latest updates on this developing situation!
  3. this guys never #FeltTheRush and it shjows
  4. Game Review Game 75 Mexico City Kings at San Diego Marlins Monday night featured an all-Western Conference showdown as the Mexico City Kings travelled to San Diego to face the Marlins. The Kings came into this one sitting second in the conference and were lookng to pad their points lead over the Marlins. The Kings have shown they have a very deep team this season and have been getting equal production from just about everyone. There was no better example of that when @hcrooster96 Matty Rooster opened the scoring late in the first period on the power play. It didn't take long for the Marlins to respond though, as budding VHLM star @NJDevils24 Justin Adolfsen buried his eighth of the season just 59 seconds later, making it a 1-1 game. Just when you thought the game would go into intermission tied, the very next faceoff the Kings stormed down the ice and tacked on another to take a 2-1 lead into the locker room after twenty minutes. The second period was back-and-forth and saw the teams trade goals, including Rooster's second of the game. Early into the third period, James Marino would tie things back up for the Marlins to make it 3-3. It stayed that way until the buzzer, which meant free hockey! Overtime would solve nothing, so that meant we were off to a shootout. In Round 5 Calen McKay made a nice little curl and drag move to wait out the goalie and score to put the Kings up 2-1 in the shooutout. The Marlins send out Lee Daughlitull Leedleleigh to answer, but they whistled one an inch over the crossbar. With that, the Kings move to 9-6-0 on the season while the Marlins fall to 4-8-3. This was a closely contested matchup from bell-to-bell and Marlins fans definitely got their moneys worth despite the home team coming up just a hair short! 4-3 (SO)
  5. NEW YORK AMERICANS PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of Feb 13/22 1) Through 12 games New York has got out to a 4-6-2 record. Despite the losing record, we have had our fair share of tough opponents early on in the season, and a lot of our losses have been all pretty close games. Do you think we can turn our luck around or do you think it might be a rough season? 2) After a week of sims, how do you feel about how your player is performing? 3) The Vancouver Wolves are off to another hot start after starting the season 10-1-1. Do you think they can pull off the 3-peat this season or will someone dethrone them? 4) If you could change or add one thing about the VHL what would you do? 5) The SuperBowl is this coming Sunday. The Bengals face off against the LA Rams. Who do you think is going to win and why? Or if you don't plan on watching the SuperBowl this weekend, what are your plans for the weekend? 6) If you were to participate in a chocolate bar draft, what are you taking with your first overall pick?
  6. There's been a ton of great feedback from the community here, I appreciate it everyone!
  7. Game Recap Game 13 Malmo Nighthawks vs Warsaw Predators Tuesday nights tilt between the Malmo Nighthawks and the Warsaw Predators featured two teams who both tasted defeat in their respective season openers. But in this one, somebody's 0 had to go! The first period saw rapid end-to-end action. It was back and forth but neither team's goalie would concede the opening goal. The period ended scoreless, but that didn't last long as the Nighthawks came storming out in the second period like a bat out of hell!! (RIP Meat Loaf) The period saw Malmo erupt for four goals in just under 11 minutes, two of which came off the stick off budding megastar @scoop Taylor Mourning. At the end of forty minutes, Malmo was up with a commanding 4-1 lead heading into the third. The Malmo barrage continued, but Warsaw goaltender @Trunkxolotl Tater Tot did everything in his power to keep his team in it. While Warsaw added a goal in the third, it was too little too late, as the Nighthawks doubled up the Preds by a final score of 4-2. These rivals will see plenty of each other in the EU conference down the road this season, but for now the Warsaw Predators will just be looking to get themselves a point as they are the only VHL club that is pointless after two games. 4-2
  8. Game Review Game 9 Miami Marauders vs San Diego Marlins It was a spirited affair in San Diego Tuesday night as the Miami Marauders rolled into town high off their 5-0 shutout victory over the Hounds in their first game. On the flipside, the Marlins were still trying to get in the win column after a lopsided loss to the Houston Bulls. The first period started with a flurry of offense. Miami opened the scoring early, but the Marlins showed some real stick-to-it-iveness and answered three straight markers of their own to go into the first intermission up 3-1. Early in the second top VHLM prospect @Dom Igor Molotov unleashed a cannon from the blueline that beat the Marlins tender to make it a one goal game. The game remained back and forth, but the Marauders eventually scored a goal on the man advantage to deadlock the game at 3-all headed into the third. Mere minutes into the third period, rookie phenom @NJDevils24 Justin Adolfsen buried home a greasy rebound to score his first career VHLM goal! The marker would stand as the game winner as the Marlins held off Miami and sent the fans home happy as the game ended 4-3. 4 - 3
  9. @Spartan We done here!
  10. Awesome writeup from the Payne Train!!! You make a lot of great points, and thankfully you had a solid GM to help you get your footing when you were starting out, others aren't always so fortunate. You've been killin it though dude, keep it up! Hope to see you in the VHL soon
  11. Exactly, which circles back to my point in the original post... we need more substance to keep people interested. Or at least I think that's part of of the solution anyways.
  12. NEW YORK AMERICANS CAPTAINCY It's been a pretty crazy offseason to be sure, but Season 82 marks the dawn of a new era here in The Big Apple. General Manager @MexicanCow123 Jordan Tonn and myself are embarking on a new era for the New York Americans. For too long now, this franchise has been a laughing stock in many VHL circles thanks to its lackluster asset management, consistently poor results, and the inability to retain superstars in this league. We aim to change the culture in New York and restore the club's prestige. With that being said, we are proud to choose rookie @dlamb Vasile Lamb as our new team captain. We couldn't think of a better player to usher in this new era for us. He is a generational talent, and after talking to him behind the scenes, we truly believe he wants to help make America great again! The first assistant captain is a player who has stuck with the Americans through thick and thin. While others left, he chose to wear the Americans' jersey like a badge of honor. @Webberj Jon Webber is veteran and leader on our team, and we are so grateful to have him be a part of our organization. For that reason, he will be donning an A for us this season. Our second assistant captain is a player I can personally vouch for as being a stand-up talent both on and off the ice. While he isn't racking up points on the blueline, he is serenading the masses with his beautiful voice and wafting the beautiful aromas in Tarkov, Russia. @Juice Kristof Welch is a born winner and a VHL veteran that will serve as a learning tree for the likes of Lamb, DeGroot, and other up-and-coming superstars for the foreseeable future. With these three players serving as our leadership group, New York American fans can finally start to be excited again. The franchise has been through a dark time to be sure. And while there will be more growing pains to come in the immediate future, our fanbase should be rest assured that better times are ahead on the horizon. As always, thank you for your time, and God Bless America.
  13. way to go JB! Deserved!
  14. haha sure enough eh!? awesome!
  15. THIS That's a major concern of mine and I think is something that is definitely part of the problem overall. Thanks for your thoughtful response Gus, cheers bud!
  16. This is exactly the type of thing that worries me. The E has made for a lot of extra confusion/ figuring out for both users and management alike. But to elaborate on what Alex told you, this is what the breakdown is for TPE: VHLM 0-200 VHLE 201-400 VHL: 401+ But also the "TPE Cap Floor" for players to get into the VHL is set at 350. So if you are on an E roster and at 350 or higher, your VHL GM is allowed to call you up if they so choose.
  17. Im a Helman's man myself that's fucking gross but way to be a man of your word bud.
  18. Hello VHL community, today I am here to try and gather some thoughts and opinions from as many people as possible. Lately there's been a fair amount of discussion about retention in the VHL as a whole. Over the weekend I was going through all the rosters in the VHL main league, and I was alarmed at how thin the rosters look compared to recent seasons. Not only the lack of depth in pure numbers of players, but also the lack of high-end talent that you would expect to see at the top level. VHL management has been scraping to find whatever low-end inactive players they can find just to get second lines done for their rosters. This was a cause for concern to me. My reaction to this was to take to Discord and ask some VHL management about what the problems may be and how we can go about fixing them. I was on record for saying I thought a lot of new players had been slipping through the cracks and going inactive/only claiming welfare and practice facility and it seems like so many of these first gens aren't even making it to the VHL now. Whether it be in the M or eventually in the E, we just aren't keeping people around long enough to get their player to the end game (not even "end game" per se, but to the final level of competition). So why is this happening? That's the million dollar question. Is it a problem with management at the lower levels? Are GMs and AGMs in the M and E not doing enough to keep their players interested in their teams? Additionally, what are the locker rooms like in most of these places? While an active LR isn't everything, it certainly does help keep people involved when you have comrades to chat with every day. I recently had reached out to a new first gen that had signed up just before the VHLM Dispersal Draft. I've spend multiple hours with them trying to guide them through the basics of getting started with your first player. He has gotten off to a great start and definitely has gotten the hang of what to do now. I reached out to him the other day and he said that as a new user, the starting experience is awfully confusing. I completely agree with them. There is SO MUCH to learn for someone who hasn't done this before. It's A LOT. How much of the issue overlaying issue is related to this. How many new users come into the league and aren't getting the help they need, then give up since they are lost? Yes we have written guides, and yes there's links to find the information you need, but it's still a big hassle, and one that a lot of teenagers (which is a big part of our demographic these days) won't go through. I think something we have already discussed in the BoG is a beginner's video to simplify the experience for a new user. So I've covered that maybe the management could do more, the league needs to do more and help new users, but this is where I will pose my question to the community. While talking on the weekend, @Acydburn (VHLE Commissioner) stated we need new ideas to solve this problem, and I agree with him. I ask you VHL community, what are some new ideas that we could implement to keep users engaged and interested. I personally feel like there just isn't enough content to keep a lot of these new-age users interested in the league. Sure when you come in and get to pick your team in the M it's fun. And getting drafted is a cool process. But when you down to the grind of just checking your personal results and your team's results, it can get monotonous. The current system works for me, and many others, but I feel like we need something more, something new. I'd love to hear ideas from the community and see what we can come up with!
  19. @jRuutu well done, this was a fun read.
  20. Yooo great write-up RC! To echo your sentiment on VHLM management, it really does take a lot of work and a lot of times the AGM's go unnoticed. In my opinion, teams that strive are the ones who have a strong duo at the helm. When you have two people that click and work together as a team, it makes for a great environment, seems like you have found that with Moon. Super happy to be playing under you and him. Glad to hear you are enjoying your time back, the community is lucky to have you!
