  1. 1. Mexico City is a tough opponent, how do you feel about our chances in this round? We will absolutely defeat Mexico, please refer to my Media Spot written five minutes ago, guaranteed win. 2. Do you think Philadelphia or Saskatoon will win on the other end? I am not sure, I would say Philly but somehow Sasky just keeps on exceeding expectations. My boy Justin Adolfsen is on Saskatoon also, so I suppose I am routing for them. Also it would be funny to put those cocky Reaper pricks in their place if they didn't even make the finals after all the shit talking they did on draft night 3. Do you watch March Madness? If so who is your champion? Great question! Man I used to watch the Madness religiously when I was in high school, but ever since COVID pretty much ruined it the last couple years I just stopped caring as much. We will see, I might watch when it gets to the sweet 16, but I have no idea who is good and who isn't this year. I normally route for Gonzaga cause they got Canadians on their team usually. 4. The month of St. Patrick's Day is associated with luck, do you feel lucky for anything in your life? I am generally a pretty unlucky person, the video game I have been playing lately I got pretty lucky with some odds-based upgrading I've been doing so that's a small dub I guess lol 5. If the Bulls were to have a chant, what should it go like in your opinion? Lol.. hate this question. BULLS BULLS WE'RE THE SHIT, WHEN WE WIN YOUR TEAM SHOULD QUIT! GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BULLS!!! 6. As I am sure was put on your recruiting form, how did you hear about the VHL? Curious on a team level. I was part of the big recruitment wave in the draft class of S75. It was a YouTube ad on an NHL 20 content creator video that got me here. It's kinda crazy because I watched that video on a complete whim and didn't even get NHL that year, so the fact it led me here was kinda nuts haha.
  2. We are deep into the playoffs now, and the VHLM is buzzing about the current series between the Mexico City Kings and the Houston Bulls. Many pundits across the community have pegged the Bulls to win the Founder's Cup this season and while the road to the Cup was pretty dominant in the regular season, the playoffs have a bit more interesting to say the least. While they did manage to defeat Halifax in five games, many were surprised that the series wasn't a total blowout. Right when the Bulls seemingly silenced their critics after two convincing wins to start out their semi-final with the Kings, games three and four of the series both resulted in blowout losses which saw the Kings outscore the Bulls 14-4/. The Bulls didn't suffer losses like that at any point in the regular season. While this may have been time for panic in most clubhouses, the Bulls stayed calm and confident, and earlier tonight they answered with a 7-5 win of their own to go up 3-2 in the series. Now the Bulls have two chances to overthrow the Kings for a shot at the throne. Up until Game 5, Scotty Sundin has had a very lethargic series, often times seeming to be invisible out there on the ice. But finally the fans got what they wanted tonight as Sundin finished the game with a goal and three assists and captured the games first star. It had been a long time coming, but luckily Houston's depth has been on display all playoffs thus far. Seven players are producing over a point per game in the ten games the Bulls have played in this year's postseason. Most noticeably winger Nine has been a revelation as he leads the team with five goals and eleven assists for 16 total points, and of his five goals, two of them were game winners. A big reason why the Bulls will find a way to win though, is it's leadership. Despite Sundin's streaky results in the playoffs, he still takes his role as captain very seriously, and along with his assistant captains Hammer Voss and AirRaid GoodBrandSon, the three act as a calming voice in the locker room. The players who have been there all year, along with the guys brought in via trade and even the late season waiver claims are all bonded as one fluid unit. Ivan Retoslav has really stepped up as a huge locker room presence during his time as a Bull also, as he is often seen as "the glue guy" in the dressing room. Everyone is playing for each other out there. After two rough games that saw the series get tied, there was no panic, no internal arguing. Just pure focus and determination. Everyone knows what need to be done to get the job done and THAT is why the Bulls will emerge as champions this season! Surely nothing could ever stop them from achieving their dreams of being Founder's Cup winners!
  3. projected s83 tpe 382....you think think this is a joke to me GUS?!!? I better be 400+
  4. Well, it took five games, but the Founder's Cup favourite Houston Bulls managed to spring a leak in the #BOATGANG as Houston finally sunk Halfifax last night by a score of 3-1. The Bulls take the series 4-1, but many were surprised at how close this series really was overall. Many of the games were fairly close at the end of the day, and Halifax even stomped the Bulls in their only win in the series. The Bulls stars will definitely need to put their best foot forward from here on out if they want to capture a title. Luckily though, some other players stepped up admirably in round one. Most notably. the duo of Jack Hextall at center with Nine at his wing connected for a ton of offense. Both players put up nine points over the five games in round one, while the soon-to-be defenseman of the year Hammer Voss was right behind them with eight points. The Bulls now look ahead to the semi-finals where they will turn their focus to Mexico City. Be sure to tune in this week to catch all the action!
  5. NEW YORK AMERICANS PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of Mar 13/22 1) The season is officially in the books. Sadly, it's another season in the lottery for the New York Americans. As you are cleaning out your locker room stall for the season, what are your final thoughts on the season we just had? 2) The league announced this past week it's big plans for the coming seasons. There are going to be new categories to roll your points into with the goal of eliminating the current meta. What do you think of the overhauled system and have you given any thought of how you are going to build your player going forward? 3) In Canada they announced this week that in a week and a half masks will no longer be mandatory out in public. A lot of my co-workers have said they might keep wearing one now as the new normal. Do you think this might finally be the end of COVID and are you planning to stop wearing a mask or will you continue to wear one? 4) What plans do you have in real life for this upcoming summer? A lot of people close to me seem to be planning trips now that it seems to be safe to travel again. If you could travel anywhere right now where would you want to go? 5) In five years from now, where do you see yourself? Do you have any major long-term goals set for yourself in the upcoming years or you just living your best life? 6) What do you plan on doing with your offseason in the VHL? You gonna take a break for a few weeks or do you want to participate in the offseason tournaments like the Vicotry ProAm? Do you think the offseason is too short, too long or just right?
  6. Hello fellow VHL'ers! Welcome to my channel point task for the week. Today I would like to touch on a subject near and dear to my heart. If any of you have burden of having a conversation with @Beaviss, he may have mentioned once, or probably multiple times that he is a "chad" or perhaps even considers himself a "GIGA-CHAD". While you may just take his words at face value, I urge you not to be fooled. This man is a fake. A fraud. A phony. And honestly, most of the time, he is pretty cringe. This is not my opinion, this is straight facts. Don't just take my word for it though, let's delve deeper! First off, let's look at Beav's player in the VHL, Maximus Decimus Meridius. First off, his choice in player name shows a clear disillusion with comparing himself to the main character of the movie Gladiator starring Russell Crowe. He thinks he is some badass Roman fighter, when in reality he is just a lackluster hockey player, He is playing on the Seattle Bears, which is bad enough, but let's take a look at his stats. In 66 games played, he has 19 goals, 23 assists and 42 total points. Those are some pretty anti-chad numbers if you ask me. But there's so much more to discuss here when analyzing the user behind the player. Beav frequently likes to condemn users in the community as "NERDS" to play into his chad fantasies. He likes to verbally put down his fellow community members to make himself feel like a cool guy. This is the same person who spent nearly thirty minutes setting up the RGB settings on his keyboard before launching his favourite MMORPG. Also he corrected me on the pronunciation of "Cerberus" recently. But he's not a nerd by the way. Oh and speaking of that MMORPG, he has logged 97 hours of Lost Ark in less than a month. Again, not a nerd. And while I am on the subject of Lost Ark, he plays the berserker class, which plays more and more into his "chad" false narrative. The berserker class literally is the most braindead shit-simple class in the game, you basically just roll your face around on your keyboard and kill everything on the screen, quite frankly it's pathetic, but don't tell Beav that! He thinks he is the chad-liest gamer in the world! In conclusion, I ask that next time you are in a voice or text chat with our good friend Beav, you take a moment and say "Hey Beav, you really aren't a chad at all!" This would be doing a great civil service to the VHL community. Sometimes it's important to tell people you care about the inconvenient truths in their lives and that's what we are doing here. Thanks for taking the time everyone, cheers!
  7. NEW YORK AMERICANS PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of Mar 06/22 1) We are now in the final week of the regular season. How did you feel your own player's performance this season, was it underwhelming or did it exceed your expectations, or was it about what you expected? 2) At the trade deadline we decided to send Tavish DeGroot to LA for a first-round pick. Rory got his player on his own team, and we got a first round pick for this upcoming draft. Do you think this was a good move or should we have gotten more for him OR should we have just held on to him? 3) As I am sure you are aware by now, Russia has been invading Ukraine over the past week or so. As a result, there have been a lot of actions taken against Russia and the citizens of Russia across all platforms and genres. The IIHF and FIFA have both said Russia will not be allowed to compete in their respective competitions. Do you think this is the right move or do you think it's unfair to the athletes? 4) Looking ahead to next season,. are there any users/players you think we should target in the upcoming draft and/or free agency? 5) In the last seven days,. what was the best meal you've had? 6) I feel question number six is now permanently the "draft" question now. Non-alcoholic beverages, who you taking first overall and why?
  8. Late Saturday night, just days before the looming VHL Trade Deadline, a major deal was struck by two of the biggest markets in the North American conference. The west coast and east coast came together in the late hours on Saturday night to negotiate a trade that would see VHL rookie defenseman Tavish DeGroot head to Los Angeles. While this move may come as a surprise to some, many others will claim the writing has been on the wall since DeGroot's controversial arrival to New York following his draft day. Many rumors swirled around the future of DeGroot after he fell to the second round to the New York Americans. After much back and forth debating and a league-implemented contract arbitration, the two sides came to an agreement on an entry-level contract just days before the start of the regular season. DeGroot has managed 20 goals and 19 assists for 39 points in 52 contests this season. Going the other way will be the Stars' first round pick for this upcoming Season 83 VHL Entry Draft. DeGroot will go from a team in the middle of a rebuild to an immediate contender in Los Angeles. Time will tell if LA's gamble will pay off as their window to win is now, but regardless of the result, DeGroot should be a cornerstone player for them for seasons to come. Stay tuned to VHL.com for more breaking trade news in the coming days leading up to the VHL Trade Deadline!
  9. Hello VHL'ers! It's theme week and we've been tasked with putting together VHL "dream teams". I'm sure everyone has their own personal preferences, but this is the lineup I am throwing out there. To me, these are some of the best players I've encountered since coming into the league in Season 74. Of course, I am biased and also throwing some friends of mine in here, but it's my list so frick off. Without further ado, let's get right to it! Forwards @Ricer13 Kris Rice (C) 504 GP- 237G, 306A, 543PTS For my man on the dots, I went with none other than the current GM of the Calgary Wranglers, Ricer! Long before Ricer was promoted as the GM of Calgary, his first gen player Kris Rice was drafted there and went on to play his first four seasons there. Ricer enjoyed a solid seven-year career, but despite his impressive TPE earning, and being on some pretty good teams, he never was able to win the elusive Continental Cup. Just because he was cup-less though, does not take away from the fact he was an absolute beast out there on the ice. He was a high-caliber two-way player who consistently put up offense while also being a beast in the faceoff circle. On top of that, Ricer is one of the biggest class acts in the league and having him in the dressing room with the boys would definitely be a plus in my books! @BOOM Gunnar Odinsson (W) 431 GP- 223G, 284A, 507PTS Many of you may not know, but Gunnar Odinsson was originally a defenseman who eventually converted over to forward early in his career. Unlike almost everyone else on this list, I actually played with Odinsson multiple times over the course of his career. We both played on the Marlins together in the VHLM and while we lit the league up that season, we couldn't capture that Founder's Cup unfortunately. From there, we both ended up on the Toronto Legion in what seemingly looked to be an incredible young core. Needless to say, that didn't exact pan out the way either of us had hoped. A few seasons later, fate would intervene and cross our players paths once more as Boom came over from Calgary to Malmo. Gunnar's two seasons in Malmo were the best of his career. Season 79 saw him and I capture the Continental Cup and it was also a season where Odinsson absolutely dominated. Aside from the team winning the Cup, he went on to win four personal trophies including playoff MVP. Boom has always been an upstanding teammate and very kind to me. He would make a perfect addition to my dream team! @Zetterberg Ray Sheilds (W) 432GP- 200G, 244A, 444PTS A lot of you newer users may not recognize this user, but Z used to be a very active member of this community, and his first gen player Ray Sheilds (yes that's the way it's spelt, cringe I know) was a pretty good player all things considered. It's always funny to me reflecting back during this time. Z would always brag to me about how good his player was, and I would always troll him and tell him Sheilds was shit to get him wound up. But truth be told, Sheilds' six-year career was mostly impressive. Taking out his rookie season, and his final season in Riga that was a bit of an anomaly, Sheilds was a consistent producer and a fairly clutch performer as well. He strung together four straight seasons in which he put up a minimum of 80 points or more and even broke the 100 point plateau in Season 76. The peak of his career came in Season 75 when he was a crucial piece to Malmo capturing the Continental Cup. Those playoffs saw him put up 28 points in 19 games and he famously scored the game winning goal in the deciding game of the cup final. I definitely wouldn't mind having a player of that ilk on my team. Also him and Boom can collab on some sick drip for my team! He traditionally played center, but like all good dream teams, centers are getting shifted to the wing, so deal with it Z! Defense @Juice Kristof Welch (D) 478GP- 139G, 402A, 541PTS For anyone that knows me, you knew this one was a layup. Kristof Welch is the only active player on my dream team. He is currently on his seventh season with one possible season remaining next season if he so chooses. What's not to like about Juice? He is a legend in the community thanks to his pie-in-the-face and karaoke highjinx, but he is also one of the best homies you could ever meet. I was lucky enough to stumble upon Juice when he first joined the league back in Season 75. I was a rookie AGM for Yukon and we signed Kristof Welch (a dlamb multi) off waivers. He immediately popped in Discord and was like a sponge, totally soaking in all the info we were giving him about how to run your player. He was off to the races and has went on to be one of the most impressive first gens I've encountered during my time here in the VHL. On the ice, he has been one of the most dominant and consistent d-men over the past handful of seasons. His last three seasons he has put up over 100 points and he is on pace to do so once again this year. He's one of the best playmaking blueliners in the current generation of VHL players. But aside from all that, he's my bud. We won a cup together in Yukon as management, we scavenged the lands of Tarkov together and he told me he liked the way I smell boi. He even told me about pretzal. Juice is love, Juice is life. Easiest dream team pick I ever made. @Spartan Alex Letang (D) 504GP- 128G, 439A, 567PTS The other defensemen on my team will be none other than Alex Letang. Spartan's player broke into the league in Season 73 and was truly a model of consistency for seven seasons. His career has a lot of parallels to Ricer's actually. He spent his first four seasons in Moscow, where he is now the general manager. Unfortunately, also like Ricer, he never was able to win that Continental Cup but that didn't take away from his ability to perform year after year. In addition to impressively being over a point per game as a defenseman in his career, during the latter half of his career he also developed a physical aspect of his game that saw him rack up a ton of hits, which made him a nightmare to match up against. His best season ironically came in Season 79, which was his final year. He popped off putting up 25 goals and 94 assists for 119 points for the LA Stars. That incredible season saw him rack up four individual trophies which is incredibly hard to do. When I was building Scotty Kaberle for my own player, Spartan's player was who I tried to model myself after. So who better to add to my dream team? Goalie @MexicanCow123 Jacob Tonn (G) 342GP 200-104-31, .918 SV%, 2,78 GAA To round out my dream team, I needed a solid tender to man the crease. This one was an easy choice as well, as Cow is a friend of mine and someone I have been close with since joining the VHL. Before becoming the VHL's most hated meta-player, Cow played under the guise of Jacob Tonn, an honest, hard working goalie who enjoyed a solid six-year career which included a Continental Cup which he earned in his rookie season as Seattle's backup goalie. He notably also won three straigh Clegane trophies, under two different teams which is pretty impressive. Tonn was one of the most steady goalies during that time and he would make a great choice for my dream team. Aside from the on-ice performance, Cow and I have been homies for quite some time and I would always roll with him. Whether it's my conquest to educate him as much as possible, or our time playing games together, or even just shooting the shit on Discord, Cow will always be one of my closest buds in VHL. So there you have it! This is my hand-crafted team that I've chosen. Do you hate it? Probably! Let me know how much you hate it down below While I have some personal friends on this list, all these players at one point or another were great players in the VHL. I think it would be boring to just go by the absolute best statistical players from a certain timeframe. Maybe when this theme week gets recycled in 10 seasons from now I will have a new dream team with players of the current generation of VHL, but for now this is the squad I'm rolling with! (1505 words, claiming for three weeks)
  10. NEW YORK AMERICANS PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of Feb 27/22 1) It was announced yesterday that this week will be VHL Theme Week. The theme is VHL Dream Teams. If you could put together a top forward line and/or defensive pairing with current players in the VHL, who would you choose and why? 2) We are over halfway through the season now. In the NA Conference Vancouver is on top once again, but in the European Conference there's been some movement with London, Riga, and Prague taking the top three spots, while Malmo and Moscow have fallen a bit. Are you surprised by how the standings look right now. Do you think any teams have overachieved or underachieved? 3) Here in Canada we just had a long weekend this past week so I was over at my mom's for dinner last night and she made homemade lasagna and it was amazing. What are some of your favourite homemade dishes whether it be something your parents make or something you like to make on your own? 4) Wordle is a daily word puzzle game that has currently been sweeping the nation in popularity. Are you a wordler or have you tried it at all and if so how do you like it? If not, do you have any games or apps on your phone that you like to use to kill time? 5) I have a neighbor who lives in the unit next to me and he is a little bat-shit crazy. He is constantly yelling at his pet cat about random shit and I can hear every word since the walls in the apartment are paper thin. Have you had any memorable neighbors during your life (good or bad)? 6) A couple of weeks ago I asked you what you would take first overall in the chocolate bar draft. This week we are drafting breakfast cereals. You are on the clock with pick one, who you taking and why?
  11. We have officially surpassed the half-way point of the season and it's pretty safe to start evaluating team's performances now. To no one's surprise, the Vancouver Wolves are dominating yet another regular season, but the Los Angeles Stars are finally having the breakout season fans have been waiting for. The European Conference has been a real interesting case study this year as Malmo and Moscow have been taken down a peg as teams like London, Prague and Riga have finally broken through and are proving to be dangerous. Back here in New York though, it's been a bit of a let down season to this point. There were some hopes going into this season that this young nucleus could maybe surprise some people and maybe earn the Americans a ticket to the postseason. While players have shown some encouraging flashes at times, the overall result has been a 15-24-2 record which slots them sixth in the North American conference. While they are still better then the likes of D.C. and Chicago, there is still a considerable amount of separation from them and the teams above them in the standings. Perhaps it was naïve to be so optimistic this early into a rebuild. The Americans management still has a lot of work left to do if they want to turn this team around going forward. First and foremost on their agenda in the offseason will be procuring a goalie for the foreseeable future. Beyond that, they need more depth at all positions as well. It should be interesting to see how the team evolves in the seasons to come.
  12. We are officially past the halfway point in the season and the Houston Bulls are in full stride and looking like a serious contender for the Founder's Cup this season. A big part of Houston's success this season is Swedish sensation Scotty Sundin who the Bulls took first overall in the VHLM Dispersal Draft this past offseason. After playing in the latter half of the season with San Diego last season, he has really come into his own while playing deep in the heart of Texas this season. He has formed chemistry with his teammates and is playing a confident and exciting brand of hockey. Through 43 games, Sundin has compiled 37 goals and 36 assists for 73 total points. He is ranked first in the entire league with a plus-41 and ranks amongst the top 10 in most offensive categories. Sundin has attributed a lot of his success this season to his teammates, particularly Hammer Voss, Phoebe Bridgers, and AirRig GoodBrandSon. The Bulls did however his a rut as of late, but they have regained their dominant ways once again, largely thanks to newcomer Ivan Retoslav, who was acquired via trade last week. Despite the ongoing rumors swirling about the Russian doping scandal in the VHLM, Retoslav has proven to be a huge shot in the arm for Houston during his short time with the team. When asked about his future beyond this season, Sundin has shown a ton of enthusiasm about the upcoming VHL Entry Draft. He has went on the record to say he is happy to play for any team that will have him. When asked if he would be interested in playing overseas in Europe in the VHLE he respectfully has stated he wishes to go directly to the VHL pro league. He wants to compete at the highest level and make an impact, and any VHL club that will allow him to do that he is all for playing on. Sundin says it is an honour and a privilege to play hockey for a living, regardless of which league it is in. Sundin's agent said some teams have already begun interviewing his player to gauge interest and learn more about him heading into the draft. It's a competitive draft class heading into this offseason, so it should be fun to see where Sundin lands when the big night finally arrives. With only a couple weeks left in the regular season, Sundin has tried to remain focused on the task at hand and not think too far into the future. For the time being, he wants to bring a Founder's Cup to the Bulls and celebrate this offseason with all the Bulls' fans. Until then though, it's business as per usual. The Bulls still have a lot to prove as they still trail the Philadelphia Reapers in the overall standings, plus the Saskatoon Wild are proving to be a real threat in the Western Conference as well. We will all be watching and routing for the Bulls down the stretch as they compete for the Founder's Cup!
  13. Game Review Game 320 It was a battle of two of the hottest teams as the Los Angeles Stars headed north of the border on Sunday for a date with the Vancouver Wolves. Dan Dan opened the scoring for the Stars early in the first period after receiving a gorgeous stretch pass from defnenseman Tui Sova. The lead stuck for quite awhile but with just three minutes left in the first period, the defending Cup champs tied it up when Jivere Zolnek tallied his 18th of the season. The second period saw the lead switch hands multiple times. The Stars were up 2-1 before the Wolves responded with back-to-back goals just four minutes apart to take a 3-2 lead heading into the third frame. Action was fast paced and end-to-end in the third, but Vick Fairchild finally notched a goal to tie the game up with seven and a half minutes remaining in regulation. Unfortunately for the Stars, Hari Singh Nalwa would blast a bomb from the point on the man advantage to put the Wolves up in the last five minutes and that would end up being the game winner. Despite standing on his head, Rara Rasputin took the loss in this game, but he posted an impressive .935 save percentage, stopping 58 out of 62 shots.
  14. NEW YORK AMERICANS PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of Feb 20/22 1) Last week I made a media spot about my VHLM team and how we were doing super well. We were on a an 8 game winning streak but as soon as I posted that Media Spot we immediately lost four straight games. Do you believe in sports curses (like jinxing a shutout in hockey or a no-hitter in baseball) or is it just bad luck? 2) Our trade deadline is quickly approaching. Do you think the New York Americans should buy or sell at the deadline, or just keep the team as is? 3) The Super Bowl was last night and the Halftime Show with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem was a big hit. It really gave me a ton of nostalgia from my high school days. If you watched the halftime show, what did you think of it? Alternatively, what were a couple of your goto artists/bands in high school that you listened to all the time? 4) One of my favorite Superbowl prop bets is betting on what color the Gatorade will be when it is dumped on the coach at the end of the game when the winning team wins. It's such a random thing to gamble on but it's funny. It was blue this year! What is your favorite flavor of Gatorade, or if you aren't a Gatorade enjoyer do you like any other kinds of sports drinks? 5) I am currently playing Lost Ark, an MMORPG that was just released last week on Steam. I am pretty obsessed with it right now, logging a ton of hours. What was the last game that you sunk a ton of hours into or alternatively what activities do you get really into that you find you put alot of time into? 6) The VHL community is currently very frustrated with the "meta" issue the league is experiencing. People are particularly upset that Vancouver has found so much success by stacking their team with a lot of players who use these meta builds. What is your solution to the meta problem? What can be changed to make things better?
  15. Nice work Animal! Quite the squad we had last season!
  16. 10/10 After this, the Founder's Cup will surely be ours.
  17. We are officially more than a quarter of the way into the VHLM season, and the Houston Bulls have been rampaging through the league as of late. The Bulls are currently on an eight-game winning streak and are clicking on all cylinders. Their offense is scoring, their defenders are defending, and their goaltending has been rock solid. Through 22 games, the Bulls are 18-4-0 and they hold a seven point lead on the Saskatoon Wild for first place in the Western Conference. While the Bulls do feature alot of high-end talent, what makes them dangerous is the fact they are getting production from multiple sources. The Bulls currently have six players with at least 30 points or more. The Bulls' top line center Scotty Sundin leads his team in scoring with 21 goals and 17 assists for 37 points and currently leads the league in game-winning goals with six. Sundin's linemate Phoebe Bridgers has had an equally as impressive season thus far, totaling 33 points and five game-winning goals. While the production up front has been stellar, the Bulls' top pair on defense has been amongst the league's very best. Hammer Voss and AirRig GoodBrandSun have been nothing short of elite this season. Both players have over thirty points, but on top of that, they both have over 30 blocks apiece. GoodBrandSon also has laid out 68 hits already this season. These two have shut down oppositions time after time, but the fact they can inject so much offense from the blueline is what makes them truly special players. In net, starting goaltender Ali Des Aves has been a brick wall. Des Aves sports a 13-2-0 record with a sparkling .914 save percentage and an impressive 2.37 goals against average with one shutout to date. The Bulls have only allowed 53 goals thus far, which is the lowest amount in the league, and a lot of that is because Des Aves has been on his A-game. As for who could prove to be a challenge for Houston this season... there seems to be two main threats. First off, in their own conference is the Saskatoon Wild. While the Wild are seven points back, the are currently enjoying a nice six-game winning streak of their own right now and are definitely a tough matchup on any given night. The biggest challenge for the Bulls though unquestionably lays in the East where the Philadelphia Reapers have been destroying the competition in their conference. The Reapers are 19-2-1 and have an even more potent offense than Houston does. The two teams have yet to face-off against one another, but next week we will finally get to see how they fare against each other head-to-head. Until then though, the Bulls continue to wreak havoc in the Western Conference. Fans have been anticipating this matchup for weeks now, and potentially, this could be a future matchup in the finals of the VHLM playoffs this year. Both teams loaded up in the draft this past offseason, and both are reaping the benefits now. Only time will tell which team is the creame de la creame of the VHLM!
  18. Breaking news has just came down from the IIHF competition committee. Sources have told various VHLM media outlets that Miami Marauders rookie phenom @Dom Igor Molotov has recently been tested for banned substances. There is a major belief from parties closely connected to the situation that Molotov could in fact test positive for doping and could therefore face serious repercussions! The Russians have had a spotty track record of doping in recent memory, many of you will recall the sanctions the IOC took against Russia for upcoming Olympic games. Russia has been banned and Russian athletes have been forced to go un stringent drug testing regiments and have to compete under the banner of "ROC" also known as the Russian Olympic Committee. Even after these measures, Russian athletes continue to be caught doping and the corruption is believed to come from influence from the Russian government. Molotov is currently smashing his competition in the VHLM this season. He leads the league in goals with 30 and points with 58. Should he test positive for illegal substances, his future will be in the hands of the VHLM commissioners and the VHL governing body. Depending on the results, his VHL Draft stock could greatly be affected. Keep it locked to VHL.com for all the latest updates on this developing situation!
