  1. Trust the Process Currently, the Calgary Wranglers are tied for last place with the Cologne Express, as the team has accumulated just 15 points in 30 games played so far. Most fans would be demoralized by terrible performances day in and day out, but Calgary's GM, Eaglesfan036, has the entire city on board with his plan, which he has dubbed, "The Process." Everywhere throughout the city, you can see t-shirts saying something about trusting the process, and a statue of Eaglesfan is currently "in the process" of being built in city hall in his honor. We asked Eaglesfan why he is so optimistic about his team's future, and the following are a list of reasons why. 1) Goaltending I've been a GM in this league for over 10 seasons now, and the most important thing I've found is teams that win the cup usually have a quality goaltender. In fact, my last cup win came with one of the all time best goalies in Hans Wingate. Goalies can bail teams out and steal a win despite being heavily outshot, and can also suck badly and have otherwise dominant teams lose. My predecessor, @Pablo, gave up a lot of resources to acquire one of the league's best agents, @Higgins. While I may not agree with how much was given up, I do understand the logic behind it, as Higgins has produced some outstanding players before, and I expect nothing less than excellence from Jacob. Since no position is more important than goalie, I am grateful to have one of the league's best members in net for me. 2) S54 Draft The S54 draft was one of the better drafts I've seen. Certainly not one of the best, but it went pretty deep and had good top-end talent, so I had no complaints there. All of my picks of importance in this draft were low 1st round picks or 2nd round picks. In my experience, those are the picks that separate the men from the boys. Any schmuck can draft a stud with a lottery pick, but it takes a lot more research to hit on your lower picks. Starting off with pick #10, drafting @Devise was a very interesting decision for me to make. I have full confidence that Reinholdt will turn into a great player, but he made it clear before the draft that he would like to eventually play for a different team, as the Devise agency has already played with Calgary before. However, it now looks like I have converted Devise to trust the process, as he has mentioned he may be interested in signing a full 8 season contract once the time comes about. Next up, I selected @ChiefNoka4 at pick number 12. I wrote an article before the draft detailing who I had in mind at the end of the 1st round, and that player was actually Jon Snow. He killed it in the pre-draft interview, and active first gens always bring a new level of excitement to the team as this is their first time around the block. Originally I was looking at him in the 1st round, but my sources told me he would fall so I got the most value possible by selecting other players first. Next, lucky number pick 13 @Kyle is another great member to have on board. He also killed it in the pre-draft interview, and has been quite active around the boards. Volkov and Snow will make for a great defensive pairing, and I can't wait to see them together next year. In case you haven't guessed by now, I place a lot of stock into member activity outside of just earning tpe, as I want to create a great team atmosphere outside of just tpe earning. 3) Future Picks I am already well over the word count, but I don't care because that's how much I trust the process. In addition to this sexy core already in place, we have 4 1st round picks in the next 2 drafts, as well as 3 2nd rounders. The next draft looks like another deep one, so I expect those picks to go to great use. Who knows, perhaps I will trade some of this picks and initiate the process sooner than expected?
  2. interesting draft. If that top 19 stays active could be a very deep draft!

  10. woke up from your nap old man?
  11. ??? I don't think you were ever a VHLM commish, correct me if I'm wrong? Also, what do you mean no one should've touched it? The rule needs touching to limit teams to less picks now that there's less teams
  12. Way back when me and either @Smarch or @Fire Hakstol were VHLM Commishes, we implemented a rule where teams couldn't own more than 3 first round picks in a draft, and no more than 6 combined 1st and 2nd rounders total. Of course, this was back when there was at least 8 teams, and possibly even 10 times but I am too lazy to look. The point of this was to avoid a Vegas scenario like this year, where a team just owns the entire top few rounds of the draft and no one else has as shot. No more than 3 1sts and 6 1st+2nds made sense to keep league parity back with 8 or 10 teams, but Vegas has shown this year that number clearly needs to be lowered. Were I still VHLM commish, once we moved down to 5 teams, I would probably have moved that number to something like no more than 2 1sts, and no more than 7 picks in the 1st 3 rounds. With less teams in, each round pick become more valuable obviously, plus it takes less picks to own the higher end of the draft. Were I still VHLM commish I would have jumped on this before the season started. However, I can't blame @Banackock and @Frank too much because they both just got hired at the start of the offseason and had a lot on their plate as new commishes. @BobertZ followed the rules given to him so he can't be blamed for trying to win. This is something we really need to avoid in the future though. Bye Felicia
  13. Trust the Hodor?
  14. @Higgins with the shutout Trust the Process
  15. I don't see any kind of pattern in the Hodor's. Some sentences have 5, some 10, etc. Also you took the time to capitalize every H at the start of the new sentence. I would love it if you didn't copy paste any of this and actually typed it up from the heart
  16. Happy 4/20 @Will and the rest of the VHL!!!!!!!

  17. cause ur scared boi
