The Russian fire cocktail is melting the ice in the juniors. December 20th, 2021 St. Petersburg, Russia Igor Molotov, write that name down, this is a name that will be all over the VHL in a few seasons. Last night was the last game for him before taking the plane for the annual U-18 junior tournament. We were present at this game and let me tell you, this kid is special. It’s been a while since I went to a game and been that impressed, he was skating around all his opponents and made it look like there was no defense on the other team. It’s a 5 goals game for him that we assisted last night, not only he can score but he also got 3 assists over that. 8 points in an 8-1 victory, he was the one in control. After the game I managed to get an interview with him, here it is: “You are one of the top prospects for the S83 draft, what are your thoughts about it? When did you realize it? “ “Yeah, my agent talked to me about it but it’s still in a while, for now I’m mainly focusing on my current season and the coming tournament. I can’t really think about those things on the ice if I want to give my best performance” “Is there any VHL player that you take as a model?” “I did watch Gobeil in Prague a lot, he inspired me into putting the efforts needed to be at my best. He was drafted 46th and look at him now, hard work is a big quality in hockey, and I intend to go on that path” After watching him play for a while, I’d say his best qualities are his scoring ability and his maturity. When he is on the ice, he makes his whole team look better and he manage to put some extra confidence into them. The one thing he’ll need to work on is his size, he is still not very tall and big and that could be an issue in the VHL but he is still young and that is something that tend to be the case for many players at this age and get adjusted when they grow up with some good physical training. I’m looking forward to seeing what that kid can do in the future and let’s hope it will be great things!

Igor “Cocktail” Molotov St-Petersburg, Russia, this is where it all began. Molotov is a big name for the S83 draft and we know how people are getting curious about him. It is not everyday that we see a Russian kid become a top prospect for the VHL, here is the story of the one who will forever known as the ‘’Russian Cocktail’’. He was born in a modest family, his mother was a French Canadian woman who moved to Russia to teach French at high school. His father owns a garage in St-Petersburg. At the age of 4 years old Molotov was already practicing hockey in his father’s garage parking, snaping pucks on cars until it was starting the alarm. After a few paint jobs and bumper replacements bills, his father decided to take the time to make him an ice rink behind the garage, not too far from the window so he can keep an eye on him. The result was that every kid from the neighborhood started grouping there to play with him. At 4 years old he was already playing with 6-7 years old kids, he had to develop some skills to compete with them as the youngest kid in the neighborhood. At 6 years old, his parents gave him a new stick and new skates for Christmas along with signing him up in the local league. It was the best Christmas he ever got. In his first day in the team, he already started to create bonds with his teammates and also the coach. He was already know as the one kid who easily get along with everyone. At this time he wasn’t special yet, he was just a good kid who enjoyed hockey. When he really started to turn heads from scouts all around the world is at 12 years old. Somehow, in that season he broke out and really teared his league apart. That’s when people started to call him the Russian Cocktail, he was on fire! The next year, he was drafted for the AAA league in 2nd round, it was a disappointment for him but it was to expect from a kid who only got 1 great season. When he stepped on the ice during training camp, he was already proving other GMs wrong, this kid was special, it wasn’t a 1 season thing. Ever since then, Molotov just kept getting better season after season and he is now expected to be a first round pick during the S83 draft.

1. I would say that defense is hard to show with stats but one way to give it more love could be to have a defense rating that the sim engine gives to each players like in FHM 2. I actually think the opposite to be honest, if I open the TV on a 0-0 game in third period I'll watch it but if I do it from the beginning, I'll loose interest, that's a goalie game and those are boring imo. Nothin beat a good scoring fest. 3. I don't think raising the cap would solve that issue as you can still have a full meta team. I think the way to fix that would simply be to adjust the TPE brackets to make it more difficult to reach 99 Questions: 1. Which player is impressing you the most this season and why? 2. Will you watch the World Juniors of hockey this year? If yes, which team do you think will be the strongest? 3. What is the best dessert during holidays?

Hey, I'm back with an other uninteresting article where I write about anything that goes trough my head untill I reach 200 words and claim it for 2 TPE. That was already a few words so I'm off to a good start! So, thinking about it... this is actually my last article on this player. I'm recreating tommorow and I'm already excited to play in the VHLM. Why I retire this player a season early? Well, for a few reasons, first one being that I want to get rid of that name for personal reasons. Second one being that I screwed up with my depreciation fighters planning and don't accept having a decrease in TPA for next season. Who should be my next player? Expect a russian center and the plan is to play 9 seasons up with this one! What about Malmo? Well, the team has been on fire lately and I'm pretty satisfied of that. We got a rough time last week with a loosing streak but we are back in business and we are doing damages, well with Deathwalker on the team, we literally do damages. Keep your heads up kids, Malmo is competing hard! see you next week!

@Matt thunderwe’re really glad to have you around. Not only you bring more depth to our defensive for the playoffs but you also bring a great presence in our locker room. I’m satisfied with that trade and hopefully we can go far in the playoffs!
