  1. Isn't it interesting how working out actually calms you down!
  2. New to the VHL/M, goaltender Thadius Sales has written this opinion piece for VHL.com “I’ve only been a part of the VHL for just about a month now, and I’ve already learned so much. The community of players, managers, coaches, and fans seems to be positive almost all the way around. There has only been one outburst that I’ve seen, and that came from a relatively unknown player demanding a front-office job and being denied. Being new to the league can be intimidating, but I’ve felt nothing but welcome and heard. When I’ve needed help with anything, managers from other teams even offered to lend me some assistance, which I can’t thank them enough for. I enjoyed my short time with Halifax, but I’m looking forward to seeing where I’ll be drafted to and to play my first full season in the VHL/M. I know that this rookie season will be tough, but I’m confident that the VHL community will not let me fail and will be there every step of the way to watch me achieve greatness!” --------------------- 178 words, for week ending 8 Nov 2020
  3. @GrittyIsKing09T-Swift is very hit or miss with me. I like her most recent album, but my favorite is still 1989. She's a talented artist, but she's had so many style changes over the years that it's hard to nail down exactly what kind of artist she is. Though, I suppose, that could add to her appeal!
  4. I really like this! It's not overly complicated, but doesn't look like something you quickly threw together either. I like the pastel-like coloring, and the brighter orange of the letters on top of the orange of the uniform. I think a small detail you added that I really appreciate is the thin black border. It makes it look like a picture any hockey fan could buy and hang on their wall! Well done! 10/10
  5. This is a very well-written media spot! I appreciate the time you took to make this post personal, and I'm sure your players appreciate it. This goes to show that you, as their GM, watched them over the season and paid close attention. I'm glad to see a "sappy" media spot for sure! 10/10
  6. During the off-season, Thadius Sales enjoys asking questions of fellow VHL/M players. It's one of the only things in this dark dark world that brings him any amount of joy, other than selling paper and playing hockey of course. 1. What are your player's plans during this off-season? 2. Halloween was just a few days ago, did your player dress up and go trick-or-treating? Did they eat any candy? 3. After a long, hard fought season, a player can often forget about mental health. What are you (or your player) doing to maintain sanity? 4. If your player needed to take on a part-time job during the off-season, what would it be? 5. Are there any changes you'd like to see happen for S75? 6. As professional hockey players, we know that a well-balanced diet is important. One of the most important pieces of that diet is protein. What's your favorite cut of steak, and how do you like it done (raw --- well-done, in between)?

    Hello

Yo, dude! I wasn't around that long ago in VHL, this is only my first month! I have no idea how you were all those years ago, but this post alone shows a huge step-up in maturity from wherever you came from. There are a lot of things I look back at from my teenage years that make me cringe, but recognizing it and apologizing is a huge step. I hope all is well with you and better than it was before, and I'm sure you are always welcome back to the VHL community!
  8. @GustavMattiasthanks man, appreciate that. I'm definitely still learning, and that shows. Thanks for the tips!
  9. I literally hate how awful I am at designing things like this. I'm the word guy, not the art guy ?
  10. @DeviseI agree, I think screening The Untouchables will now have a bit more meaning. Isn't it odd how much of a connection we feel to people who appear on television or even produce music? We almost never know them personally, yet we mourn their passing. It goes to show how much of an impact they can have on people.
  11. Gustav, if I get picked would you want to me my incredibly knowledgeable AGM (the pay is...well none).
  12. I'm new, but I'll give it a shot! I'll apply for USA (which is my player's nationality) and/or whatever other team you need a GM for still!
  13. It's bizarre that yesterday I was asking you all what your current favorite movie is and then today I wake up to find out that Sean Connery has died. Frankly, it wasn't surprising, given that he was 90 years old, but it is still heartbreaking nonetheless. Now, I know this may seem repetitive, but I'm going to ask that you share with the community what your favorite Sean Connery movie is. Sure, there can be multiple, and yes you can just say "him as James Bond." Out of all of the James Bond movies that I have seen (which is a lot) my favorite James Bond actor has always been Sean Connery. Beyond James Bond, I absolutely loved watching him in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Here's a video that WatchMojo put together. Boys, leave some Fs in the chat. F
  14. I've the perfect name for ya... Ol' Richard McTwister Aka Dick Twist
  15. I'm with you on No Country for Old Men and Inglorious Bastards, but I haven't heard of The Good, The Bad and the Weird! Thanks for the suggestion.
  16. No movie can ever match the books that inspire them. I think you have to try and separate the two. I will say that watching the Harry Potter movies and then reading the books helped me to keep everyone and everything in line. I'm awful at names, especially odd ones. That's why I struggle so hard reading LoTR.
  17. Forrest Gump will always be a classic! And I haven't seen Us yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. I really enjoyed watching the second IT that came out last year. Also, A Quiet Place because it has one of my old employees in it, Jim Halpert (though he now goes by his stage name John Krasinski).
