Who Really Is John Callahan Jr?? (An Introduction)

Did he happen to visit Dunder Mifflin and see a hot HR rep named Holly Flax? -
Beautiful. Sounds like a completely confident and well mannered person!

Amazing, well done!

Tomorrow’s first puck drop marks the beginning of S75 in the VHL/M. This season brings with it an incredible number of new faces in the VHL, indicating that the league is certainly expanding. With just around 350 names entered in for drafting into the VHL/M it is clear that there is robust variety of players and personalities around the league this season. As everyone knows, hockey players are a bit superstitious. As a new face in the league, and being fairly new to hockey itself, we asked Thadius Sales, starting goaltender for the Miami Marauders, what his process was the day before a big game. Again, Sales appears to be one of the most unorthodox players in the VHLM at the moment, but for Miami’s sake we hope this pre-game ritual is something that works. Let’s hope the team’s athletic trainer can take a look at that hand, and encourage Sales to stop punching walls. ---- 370 words. Claiming for week ending 22 Nov

I'm glad to see Rose overcame his demons! Mental health is such an important aspect in the hockey world and it's a need that requires appropriate attention. I am excited to see the VHL taking on such a younger player that has been diagnosed with depression and Asperger's. This shows that the VHL continues to be a community that embraces people from all walks of life, who have all sorts of struggles, and allows them to play the game they love. I, Thadius Sales, previously known as Prison Mike, know what it's like to feel accepted into the league even with a rough past. Welcome to the league!

^^^best quote of the whole thing. Just kidding. This was really well written, and I love it. It's obvious you put a lot of work into this, and that work should definitely be recognized!

I literally love everything about this graphic. It's clean and has a nice dark filter which contrasts nicely against the brightness of the flame. I especially love the intensity in the stare of the goalie, it adds to the grit of the graphic. Overall, it's pretty amazing! 10/10 would hang this on my wall

The way you described his stumbling in both the physical skating way and in the sense of his VHL scoring made me imagine Happy Gilmore. I like how clean this media spot is. There aren't any overly-noticeable spelling or grammar errors, and it's easy to read. This is one of those media spots that make me think, "maybe Christian Mingle is a real person after all." Well done! 10/10

1. I've been eating some pizza and drinking good beer! Mostly, I've been practicing, making myself better. 2. I think it's possible for San Diego to have a repeat of last season. 3. Cabe McJake @RedSus, clearly. 4. I'm hoping our defense gives me a bit more protection than they did Rasputin, so I'm hoping for a forward to pull in the title. 5. I'm right handed, but since I played baseball as a kid my left hand is my catching hand my right hand serves as my extended arm! 6. More hours in the day to get everything done that I need to do!

Joining the VHL with only a couple of weeks left in S74, goaltender Thadius Sales found himself as the backup goalie for the Halifax 21st, who saw a fairly quick exit from the playoffs. While this loss was certainly disappointing, Sales said he was just glad to have been able to play a few games in the regular season to get his “feet wet.” With this being a new role for him, we were curious as to how Sales felt in the net. One thing that goaltenders seem to hate the most is being hit in the face with the puck, so we asked Sales about that very thing. Sure, it was an unorthodox response, but most things with Sales is unorthodox. We then asked him about his time in Halifax and the few games he did get to play. Sales is certainly right about his progression, and the draft scouts saw it. When S74 wrapped up, Sales was 53rd on the draft card, and only a few weeks later he found himself at 24th. His impressive work-ethic, and non-stop drive propelled him beyond many of his peers. Being released from Halifax, Sales’ eyes were set on the upcoming draft. He was eager, wondering what would happen to him. As Sales watched the VHLM draft from home we had a quick discussion with him. When asked how he was feeling he said, Almost immediately after finishing his sentence, Miami Marauders’ GM, @Ricer13 came on stage. Excitement exuded from the rookie goaltender. New Role in the VHLM Only a few short days after the draft Sales found himself in Miami. After taking in a few of the sights, Sales made his way to the Marauders front office to speak with Ricer. With very little experience on the ice, and being drafted by the latest Founder’s Cup Champions, Sales’ starting position is quite the shock around the league. As Ricer told him, he’s got some big skates to fill in the net. This recent move to Miami has propelled Sales into being one of the most anticipated rookie goaltenders in VHL/M history. His tireless work-ethic and dedication to the game has been undoubtedly reflected both on and off the ice. Sales continues to be a positive and uplifting presence around the league, and his presence has already been a positive addition to the Miami locker room. During all of the excitement with the move and the news of being the team’s new starter goaltender, Sales’ name was being echoed around the VHL by other GMs. VHL Draft After his conversation with Marauder leadership, Sales found himself in his new Miami apartment, watching the VHL draft. With an already exciting day, Sales had no idea how much more exciting things were about to get. Sales says that as he continued eating his pizza and drinking a cold Corona he said, “Sweet, good for Schmitdt.” Then, his phone rang. Dropping his pizza on the floor in shock Sales replied, To which Esso responded: Then, seconds later, Sales saw it on the T.V The excitement that Sales must have felt that day is something that most people cannot possibly understand. A starting position in Miami and a draft pick from New York, all in one day. It was something that Sales said he never could have imagined. With expectations high, Sales has a lot of work to do this season. Not only is he going to have to fill the void that Rasputin left in the Miami locker room, but with a potential move to the VHL in S76 Sales will need to work as hard as ever to ensure that he ready to make an impact in the VHL in the near future. But, without getting too far ahead of ourselves, we all should focus on Sales’ performance in S75. We wait in anticipation to see how Sales will do this coming Wednesday as he steps onto the ice for the first time as the starting goaltender for the Miami Marauders. We look forward to seeing how much Sales has grown since his last game in Halifax. ---- 1064 words, claiming for weeks ending 22 Nov 2020 and 29 Nov 2020

Costco is the bomb! We usually go with a friend who has a membership since it's only two of us right now, so we don't really buy bulk.

I'm one of those people that if I get more than 3 straight days off I start going crazy. But, a lazy day with good food sounds like an ideal Saturday!
-
Yea, tell me about it!

Sorry to hear about your grandma in the hospital, but I'm glad you're able to visit! My wife and I were with our friend on Halloween and then 9 days later he and his wife tested positive for COVID. We didn't feel anything but we got tested anyway and our results came back negative this morning. So, I wouldn't fret over it too much! Also, you have a great weekend too!

Good morning, VHL. It's a chilly, cloudy, and damp morning here in Kentucky. It's the perfect weather for me to have to be stuck inside doing work all day. I know we all are in different time zones, and some of you are probably ending your Saturday in a few short hours, but I'm curious, what are your weekend plans? Do you have anything special going on? Any activity you're looking forward to?

I'm writing a paper, and I need your help!

Sure, you can use my username! 1. I used to play in an online league where we actually played hockey through NHL 19,20...and so on. The problem I was having was that if I really wanted to participate I had to be up late at night, most nights of the week. I really value quality time with my wife and the league was making that hard to do. I really like how VHL is something that I can be active in during the day, and parts of the evening when I can. It's really something where you get what you put into it. I've stayed because I've really enjoyed the community! 2. Yes. It's a simple and quick way of being in communication with others in the league. It seems to be a place for quick updates. I really appreciate when people share links in discord that take you back to the forum. 3. I haven't been in the league for very long, but I'm fairly active. With that being said, I haven't noticed much of an anti-American sentiment. If anything I've seen friendly chirping from different nationalities. Leaving an international league...no, an international community simply because there is a perceived "anti-American sentiment" is silly to me. Honestly, I think it's good for some Americans to be in a community where America isn't the center of attention in the community, it's humbling. I personally haven't seen anything that's needed moderation. Really, moderation with regards to this needs to be a case-by-case situation. Also, I'm an American. 4. I think it's a good idea! If this is a forum-based league then why wouldn't people want to be more active in them? However, I don't think disbanding the discord would be a good solution either. There needs to be a balance between the two. 5. I don't think I would. In my head a fantasy league is where you draft together your own fake team of real players and focus on their in-game performance. I would more consider this league to be a "Be-A-Pro League." -
