Catter98 reacted to Spence King in Philadelphia Reapers S75 On Ice Leadership Group
Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Reapers Head Coach/GM @DMaximus& Assistant GM Spence King announced today that DARIUS MARIMOTO @dariusmarimotoman has been named the longest tenured captain in Reapers franchise history*(Not all Data available) continuing to wear the C for his THIRD season in Philly . Along with returning for his 3rd season in Philly before going pro vet and top Reapers draft pick in S74 a MAJOR…MAJOR part of our leadership group and has been since stepping in the locker room, CARSON WALKERS @Cwalker, last week the Reapers roster held a vote in regards to who they believe have been and are consistently contributing to the discord LR and being great role models for all team members. The results of the poll were VERY tight with a FIVE way tie, obviously leaving our front office with some tough decisions to make in regards to who will be our on ice leadership group in S75, without further a due after very long and hard-fought consideration, JACOB CARSON @jacobcarson877, and ADDISON MCLAREN @tcookie25 will each serve as alternate captains.

"Since I arrived in Philadelphia four seasons ago, we have been blessed with a tremendous amount of leadership on our roster," said King. "Darius has grown up within that environment and evolved into someone who not only plays his best hockey when it matters the most, but who also leads by example off the ice. He knows what it takes to win and his performance in our recent playoff runs reflects that. Most importantly, Darius has the respect of his teammates and we're extremely proud to name him as the Longest tenured captain of the Philadelphia Reapers."

“As an organization we are excited to finalize our leadership group today and feel that all four players, led by Marimoto, as well as guys like Robert Bouchard, Bob Tristan Robin Galante Nilsson and so many more all truly exemplify and understand what it is expected of a Reaper” stated Assistant GM Spence King.

"We have a great blend of talent and experience amongst these three players who will work amongst Darius as alternate captains," said King. "Two of these players are previous captains in the minors for 3 seasons now and we feel this group is a reflection of our team's identity and their leadership will be counted on both on the ice and in the community. Our team poll speaks for itself our locker rook is loaded with leaders even our S76 Rookies are verging the role of captain and will more than soon be wearing letters themselves"

Marimoto- is in his third season with the Reapers after being selected by the club nearing the end of the 5th round during the S73 VHLM Dispersal draft. The eighteen year old native of the country of Japan is one of five Reapers scoring at a pace over a point per game and Darius is averaging +1 assists each GP.
Last season the 6.01, 205-lb winger was named to the S74 Team Asia Roster for the WJHC.
Last year he notched a 74 point campaign, putting up back to back 30 goal seasons.

“It feels great. Being the captain of such a talented and promising team is something you dream of. This dream became reality for me. I can’t wait to see how the season plays out, and hopefully playoffs. Let’s go Reapers.” said Marimoto.

Walkers- is also entering his 3rd season with the Reapers.
Two Season ago the veteran sniper was selected in the 2n Round of the S74 VHL Entry Draft by the Malmo
    NightHawks.
In 155 career regular season VHLM games played, the USA native has 52 goals and 69 assists in his career to-date.
    Doubling his single season

"I’m honored that DMax and Spence continue to place their trust in to help lead the team to playoffs. I’m also excited to help Darius lead the team."- Quoted Carson Walkers

Jacob Carson- a giant in between the pipes, a native of Location Uknown (Canada), is in his second season with the Reapers.
Originally a 4th Round Selection of the club in S74, The 3rd and final player selected by the reapers in that round
Starting off S75 capped at 250 looking towards and sitting with a an amazing above 900SV% after 9 games
He would then go on to almost go undrafted in the S74 VHL draft before Calgary selected in the final round  62nd  Overall, 7th last pick of the entire draft.
Named to Team Canada during the S74 WJHC

Mclaren- is in his 1st season with the club
In mid S74 Mclaren signed as a waiver playing with The Miami Marauders
With playing half a season in Miami Addison logged a whopping 157 Hits in just 46 Games
Through 18 games played in the S74 Playoffs, Addison lead the Marauders to a Founders Cup Championship  with 9 goals and 9 assists (18points in 18GP).
His goal output has tied his rookie totals, and he is mere points from setting a career-best season already.

Catter98 reacted to Barry in Barry Taffe: Scounting Report
    BARRY TAFFE: SCOUTING REPORT

Barry is an eighteen years old goalie, which has signed his first contract in the VHLM on the very last day before the start of the next season. He has chosen from four offers one of the best teams in the league- Philadelphia Reapers, which is one of aspirants for the trophy in the VHLM. He says: ,, I am really happy to be in the organisation like this ( Philadelphia Reapers). It is great to start your profi career in the team with a great goalie like Jacob Carson. I can learn many important things from him.” Barry is in the Reapers goalie number 2. It could be a  handicap for him, because he will not have as high ice time as he needs to show his potential to scouts from VHL. But he is telling something else:,, I think it is not some kind of handicap. Yeah I probably will not get many opportunities to show my  skills, but on the other hand I have more time to train harder and prepare myself for the profi games and for the VHL.”

    The strongest parts:
Loyalty- He will be absolutely loyal to the team if the team will by loyal to him. He can adapt quickly to the team. For Barry Taffe will be the most important TEAM SUCCESS. If it is needed, he will agree to stay for a lower salary. For him is more important than his financial situation,  trophy for the best team in the league.
Strict rules- Barry Taffe loves discipline and strict rules. It does mean no alcohol, cigarets and walks after 11:00 PM. He believes it is the best way to be successful in the career.
Mentality- Barry has a really good mentality. He is ready for every save. In the all game situations. He will do his best when it will be 7:0 for his team or 7:0 for the opponent.

    The weakest parts:
English know-how- Barry Taffe can understand, but sometimes he has problem with grammar. He works on his english every day and it is getting better and better.
Stormy - Barry Taffe doesn't need too much to drop his gloves and fight his opponent.

Barry Taffe has the potential to be the great backup goalie for any VHL team within three years and a starter within 6-10 years. Maybe sooner if he will be working really hard to gain a maximum potential from himself. Barry Taffe is ready for that: ,, You need train a lot. In the ice, out of  the ice, in the gym,... Training is absolutely a basic part of success.” And what round is he looking for to be drafted in?,, In the first of course!” ( Smiling),, Everyone wants to be drafted as number one! But from the more realistic point of view, I hope it could be the 3rd or 4th round.

Catter98 reacted to DreMin15 in BREAKING: Drew Minott Intends to Enter VHL After VHLM Playoff's End
Breaking news coming out of Las Vegas today as goaltender Drew Minott has announced his plan to leave the VHLM behind,  and join the ranks of the L.A. Stars, at the end of this postseason. Minott confirmed this in an interview (transcribed below) following Vegas's final game of the regular season. Here are Minott's words on the ordeal:

"Hey Minner, Markus Bucyk from the Vegas Harald. I was wondering if you could give us your plans for the offseason?"

"Sure things Bucky, good to have you back after you broke your leg. I actually have something pretty big I would like to announce. I have spoken with GM Josh of the LA Stars, and after some consideration I have decided to make the jump to the VHL after this playoff run."

*Que chaos breaking out from various reporters breaking off from other players to join the Minott pile-on*

"Hey hey hey, calm down. One at a time everyone! You, over there, with the makeshift boom-mic."

"Hi Drew, Vanessa Kimbell from the Toronto Times, I was wondering that spurred on your decision to finally make the jump?"

"For sure, I just feel like I am ready to make the jump. I ain't getting any younger, and I want to play on the best stage in the world and show that so many people putting their faith in me wasn't a mistake. I have time for one more question."

"Hi Mr. Minott, Terrence Paul from the Los Angeles Post. How do you see yourself fitting in to the Los Angeles roster and locker room?"

"Yeah, that's where I have to dock myself some points. I definitely am not going to jump and immediately take the starting role. Even suggesting that would be disrespectful to Doug Dimmadome, the current starter up in LA. I feel like I'm going to be getting my toes wet for a season or two, getting some games under my belt and hopefully showing that me being there isn't a mistake. As for how I see myself fitting into the locker room, I feel like I'm going to fit in nicely. I know we aren't going to be the best team around, but I have always found that being in a bad situation helps you know exactly where you need to work on yourself. I feel excited to be coming up to LA. Thanks guy, but I have to head out now."

Once the news had reached the Los Angeles locker room, one player who knows Minner well had a statement to give. After spending the latter half of S72 together on the Houston Bulls, here is Jiggly Gumballs:

"Hello Jiggs, Jordan Hunter from the Los Angeles Times, after the recent announcement from your ex and future teammate, Drew Minott, coming up to play with the Stars in the VHL next season, what are your thoughts on how Minner will fit in with the team?"

"To me, with how good Doug Dimmadome has been as the new starter for LA. I think Minner can come in and sorta compete for that starting position. I see him and Dimmadome being a great tandem of sorts. Splitting games up between the two and acting as a one-two punch in terms of goaltending. It's honestly just great to see me and Minner reunite as teammates soon."

If we receive any more updates on the Minott situation, we will update this thread.

Alex was born in the Czech Republic in a small town called Znojmo. Alex has been in love with this game since he was very young. Alex started playing hockey at the age of three. Since he was a child, he tried to be a good defender, he is able to release his soul for it, he is also very friendly. Now there is a new challenge in front of him, hoping that someone will choose her in the draft and he will fight for a place in the team. His dream is to get into the national team.

Catter98 reacted to Beketov in Calgary Wranglers new Logo
Some of you may remember awhile ago @Motzaburger (where are you bud?) and @Da_Berr collaborated on a new logo for the Calgary Wranglers. Some of you may also remember that Bushito, the GM of Calgary at the time, didn't care for it. Well Bush is gone now and @Jubis happens to be quite fond of getting rid of what I have deemed the derp horse. So, even though you have mostly all seen it before, I present to you the new and improved Calgary Wranglers logo!

Keeping the colour scheme and the overall theme of the wranglers logo, important for such a historical team, this new logo encompasses the best parts of the Wranglers while removing the slightly, shall we say, Family Guy esk nature of the old logo. The wranglers shall be sporting this new look starting in S75.

Catter98 reacted to Ricer13 in What is going on in Miami?
Miami is having a season for the history books. They were projected to be a lottery team at the beginning of the season with everyone already counting them out of the playoff picture. They had maybe five active members at the start of the season who were getting lots of minutes while they learned the ropes of the VHL. They struggled for the first half of the season sitting a few spots out of 8th in the standings. They began recruiting members as the great recruitment drive of S74 began. They were quick to recruit members to fill out their roster and were able to DROP inactive members in order to make space for ACTIVE members. Miami did a fantastic job recruiting players as they have pulled together some of the best recruits this season. The team started to turn the season around and found them selves fighting for that 8th and final spot. It came down to the very last game of the season that decided the fate of the Marauders and they shocked the VHLM work by winning themselves into the playoffs. Securing that 8th spot was a blessing and curse as they had to face the number one team in the league the Halifax 21sts. A team primed for a championship run that the Marauders had no business even winning against. Well seven games later Miami shocked the VHLM world yet again by defeating the juggernaut team in Halifax. It didn't end there as the Marauder's now had to face the challenge of facing the number two team in the league, the Las Vegas Aces. This Marauders came out strong after riding the high of beating Halifax and took a 3-0 series lead. While Miami wanted a sweep, Vegas had other plans. The Aces forced their way back into this series by winning 3 straight of their own forcing this series to another game 7 for the Marauders. Trying their best to avoid the cursed reverse sweep the Marauders came out hard and with a late goal in the third they sealed their victory against Vegas and are now moving on to the finals. For the second straight season the Miami Marauders are in the finals. Last season as the top team but this season as the 8th overall team. What is going on in Miami?

GM Ricer and AGM Zetterberg had a goal in mind this season and that was to make the playoffs. At first it looked like that wasn't going to be a possibility but the two never wavered from their mission. They started signing waiver players early as they brought in Goaltender Rara Rasputin. Rasputin signed believing in GM Ricer and that his history spoke for its self. Rasputin improved drastically throughout the season and stole a number of games for us late in the season and was a huge contributing piece as to why Miami defeated Halifax in round 1 of the playoffs. Addison McClaren picked up later in the season was very eager to learn the ropes of the VHL. He is a student of the game and his dedication to earning this season was top notch. He did all the work to improve his player and he now sits near the top of the draft board for the VHLM and scouts have been calling as they are excited about the potential of this player. His hard work has turned him into a contributing factor in the Marauders success this season as he sits near the top of the scoring leaderboards. Cabe McJake another addition of the mid season Marauder signings is louder than McClaren but works just as hard if not harder. He is the fire on this team that gets the team pumped after big wins. He wears his heart on his sleeve and bleeds Marauder black and red. Crazy because he's only been a member for half a season. McJake has been line mates with McClaren most of the season now as the two of them have been the top earners this season. They have both carried this team offensively during the regular season and it has been even more so in the playoffs. A surprise player for Miami has been Sheldon Juniper who Miami picked up late in the season. He isn't a member of the Marauders locker room as he is only a forum guy but he hasn't hesitated to reach out to learn and has been a solid earning member since he has joined. He worked his way up to the second line and has been a clutch player for Miami during these playoffs. Vivek Weiner who was another late signing by Miami started on the fourth line because the team was so full. He worked his ass off earning experience and climbed his way right to the top line. He is sitting pretty between wingers McClaren and McJake completing what has been the most dominant line in the VHLM these playoffs. A few other waiver signings I would like to mention are Hulk Hogan Jr., Martin Master, Nathan Perry, JL Gunnar, Wooshi Cat and Nikolas DAndrea who have played key supporting roles for this team since being signed late in season 74. They have all done their part in remaining active and earning to the best of their abilities.

How crazy is that? That is a lot of waiver signings. It goes to show how important it is to be able to recruit members to your team and to help them remain active. This is something Miami has strived to be good at since they first joined the league three seasons ago. Now while I have given a lot of praise to the new members of this league who have been a huge part of Miami's success this season it really wouldn't be possible without the core pieces that were drafted and or acquired by this team. On the back end you have the best shutdown pair in the league with Eoin Byrne and Chicken Wing. Byrne has had a history of being moved around in the VHLM he was once in fact moved out of Miami. When GM Ricer saw the opportunity to reacquire this stud defensemen this season he quickly hopped to and got a deal done. Byrne has been the definition of a two way defensemen. He has put up the points and has been a huge factor in shutting other teams offense down. Chicken Wing was acquired by trade from the Halifax 21sts. GM Ricer had been given good reviews of this young player from Marauder Alumni and got a deal done to bring Wing into the Marauder family. Chicken Wing is very similar in regards to Byrne she can simply do it all. When you need the offense she is there and when its time to shut em down she's got that covered to. These two have been a staple on Miami's top pair all season long. Forwards Theodore Hoffman and Peter Louis II were leading the charge on the top line earlier in the season. They have been the perfect supporting pieces on this Marauder team and their attitude about it has been extremely positive. Hoffman was acquired in the same deal that brought Byrne to Miami from the Yukon. He slotted into the top line right away and was playin with Louis II. The two of them had instant chemistry and were leading the way when all of the waiver players started signing. As new members surpassed them in TPE the two were bumped down to the second line but did so graciously knowing the end goal was the playoffs. Even though they moved down a line the production never went away. The two of them have been a solid contributor to the Marauder's during the post season as well. Back up tendy Matt Sovick Jr. was also gracious enough to let Rasputin have the starting job so he could continue improving himself over the season to take the starting role in season 75. He did very well in the limited starts he had during the season which shows promise for this young goaltenders future. Lastly, Zakrevksky and Great who were higher up in the line up earlier in the season now serve as depth pieces. Both of which waiver on the edge of activity but when called upon they are there for their team.

I think it is pretty obvious what is going on in Miami. They have gathered a nucleus of players who have all come together for a common goal. They all put in the work to get to where they are today. When you look at our roster now and compare it to those we are up against there really isn't much of a difference. The same couldn't have been said mid season when everyone here was a newbie joining the league for the very first time. Now look at them, on their way to a Founders Cup final and it's all because of them.
