Hey look, it's Idaho!

Duncan Idaho: A rookie experience For Duncan Idaho his time in the VHLM was one of necessary evil, he doesn’t care much about the league, but he has to go through it to get into the VHL, so one full season is what it took for him to make make the jump. While the Houston Bulls failed to clinch the Founder’s Cup, for Duncan Idaho it still brought a valuable experience of playing together with his protegé Paul Atreides. Duncan Idaho has been loyal to House Atreides for a while and serves Duke Leto the First, who trusted him on guiding his son on his road to become a great hockey player. For Duncan, it was important to help Paul by staying close to him and that’s exactly what happened. On the trade deadline when they signed up, they both signed with the Marlins, in the VHLM draft they both went to the Bulls and now, with the VHL draft passed, they wanted to end up together and Menace made this possible so Paul and Duncan are now heading towards Moscow together, to start a career that should follow them side by side. While Duncan is more of Paul’s trainer, it became clear that Paul is a better hockey player then Duncan, while Duncan only gained 80 points in the minors, the youngster ended up with a point total over 100, earning him the first overall selection by Moscow. Duncan couldn’t be more proud of him, but is happy they managed to trade up to the third overall pick, to make sure Duncan could remain close to Paul. So what is to be expected from Idaho? Duncan himself thinks his career might not be as good as others expect from him, as he would like to remain in Paul’s shadow, giving him a first ballot HoF bid. With Idaho being a more physical force, he is expected to put up less points as Paul would, so Duncan already loves to temper the predictions for his career. The start in Moscow seems promising though, new Menace coach Spartan seems to wants to best for his two franchise stars and hopes to build a great team around them. While it might be harder to win in the VHL now, with 16 teams in total, the players do believe in this project and hope to be able to launch back Moscow into greatness in a few seasons time. While Idaho got a lick in Gorlab’s lick or bust article, he certainly will have issues to live up to the expectactions, but time will tell how his career will pan out.

Good job kiddo, pushing you to the limits in our training sessions worked. Dare I say future Hall of Famer? -
Because not only did he wear his Hot Lizzy fanclub jacket, but he also has a full sleeve tattoo of her on his arms.

Duncan Idaho is a 6'3, 200 lb winger from San Marino. He came into the VHLM as a waiver create for the San Diego Marlins. In the regular season you noticed he still was adjusting to the players around him and he just scored a single goal in 13 games. In the playoffs this already improved for him, as in 9 games he got 3 goals and 1 assist. Idaho also was not as physical then as he is now, as he gotten less than 2 hits a game average. This all changed when he got drafted to the Houston Bulls and adapted the 'Horns Up' playstyle, which definitly meant for him to see his opponents like they were wearing red wings jerseys. Horns up and hit the target. In total Idaho managed to get 270 hits, and not just hits alone, he also contributed to 40 goals and 40 assists in 72 games, being just above a point per game player. Despite his bad start he also ended up as a +47, showing Idaho was a great contribution to his team. In the playoffs this continued, in 16 games he was good for 10 goals and 8 assists, being a positive +9 in the plus/minus ratio. With his 55 hits he also was above 3 hits per game. Unfortunately this was not enough for the Bulls to nail the title, making Idaho the first player of the OrbitingDeath Agency to not win a Founder's Cup since HOF player Remy LeBeau. When looking at the positive attributes, we see that Idaho knows how to use his body and isn't afraid to use it, with 70 checking and 61 stre ngth he does not shy away from physical play. He also is a responsible defensive player, with 80 defensive rating he knows how to position himself well on the ice. Perhaps one of his strongest attributes will be his scoring, Idaho is definitly a shoot first guy, despite him having 40 goals and 40 assists, Idaho really is not a guy that is looking for the pass. So it's likely that most of his assists are coming off rebounds from the goaltenders. That automatically leaves passing as one of his worst stat points. He has not trained to pass and look for teammates, no matter how open his teammate is, Idaho will shoot first before passing even crossed his mind. It will be interesting where this will land Idaho, as his hitting definitly impacts his icetime due to a lot of minutes in the penalty box.

1- do you have a favorite actor/director that you try to make a point of seeing most of their work? I love the old Kevin Smith movies, but haven't watched all he has made. The thought of watching Tusk still scares me. #WalrusYeah 2- offseason sucks when you're not in the playoffs. What can the VHL do to make it better? All teams enter the playoffs? 3- am I going completely mad? Nothing has changed over the last 9 years then ^ 4- stat projections for your player next season? Too early to call, but it will be a challenge for my new gm to get me to a point per game. 5- are you active in any other sim leagues? Yes, isfl / efl actually active, sba / shl i'm updating but not that active around it 6- it's Monday and it feels like it should be Thursday. Do you have any advice on how to cope with that situation? Longer weekends would definitly help with this!

Definitly I do wonder why people voted for me to GM though. I would be horrible for that

Duncan Idaho and the draft The draft tournament is ongoing and the odds for the draft lottery will soon be known. Idaho is currently the 2nd highest in TPE in his draft class and due to his inability to submit predictions he will also not end up as the highest at the end of his career. What also isn’t likely to happen, is that I will stick out a full career with your franchise. As you probably know by now I have created together with Mr Hatter as two characters from the Dune franchise, and I would love to be able to end up together with him on a team in our careers. Now I’m not a (complete) idiot, and I know this isn’t likely to happen during the draft, with us being the two highest tpe players (closely followed by Reinhart) and while this is no guarantee for being picked high, it is also unlikely that any team will have have two picks for getting both of us from the get go. So I wanted this out in public: - I want to play with Atreides in my career , so I can not promise being loyal to your franchise for a full eight seasons - I have no preference at the moment for where I end up at the moment - I would like to have decent playing time, I would like to become a point per game player early in my career, so do not bury me on the depth charts if you want to have a chance at me staying at your franchise longer With a lot of people saying I would be going back to Malmo anyway. This is in no way a sure thing, I have not told a team I wouldn’t play for them and this time around I also will not exclude anyone. The real challenge for teams will be to achieve both the Dune players and I’m looking forward to see how this will shape up during our careers.
