1. I mean it seems like Britton and I just have great chemistry, so I think that helps. I'm guessing something about our builds really compliments each other.

2. I prefer active locker rooms... which might be why Tot didn't have much success in his career lol

3. No, but I would have no problem doing so. I don't mind heights.

4. Getting rid of Mrazek was nice for my Leafs. Kirby Dach is not worth the 13th overall. Happy Wright fell to my west team, the Kraken.

5. Run the goalie. No but seriously, it just comes down to finding the right lineup combination.

6. BBQ was hotdogs, but open flame is much more interesting. I had delicious short ribs while I was camping last month.

1. I mean, I'm probably biased, but our top pair DMen are putting in WORK.

 

2. Super Confident, since Im betting Tucker will be maxed out by the end of the year.

 

3. It looks pretty good. As for my own skills? We all know I make abombinations.

 

4. It makes the VHL a lot more fun when the LR is active. Its also nice when there is communication from the GM about whats going on!

 

5. I will always hate the bulls for the sole reason that Tater Tot's VHLM draft they "gamed" the system and wound up with like... 5 first round picks and proceeded to stomp the league. Must beat them at all costs.

 

6. If I'm lucky, maybe three. Potatoes aren't known for having strong arms.

1. I'm more glad that Tampa lost then Colorado winning. Though I am happy Kadri got a cup! Didn't place any bets.

 

2. Well answering this late gives me the benefit of foresight, but honestly didn't expect to be a point per game player. And we're doing about as well as I thought, near the top of the league.

 

3. Tottingham is on PP1 right? Other than that, nah, it looks all good

 

4. Im heading up north for a week or so, which is going to make getting TPE difficult, but Imma try my best.

 

5. More hours then it should be probably. And I primarily game on my PC

 

6. Favorite is something called Tiger Tail icecream. Its is Orange Sherbet with black licorice swirls in it. No toppings needed.

1. Tuning into the stream, and being in the chat with the GM's and other players. It's honestly really fun. Being selected earlyish is nice too

Possibly last Halifax PC!

1. I mean as someone elidible for it, the easy answer here is that I'm looking forward to the VHLM draft. I'm curious to see where I'll go as quite a few teams have made their intentions known.

 

2. I'm not picky on the team. Whoever thinks I'm worth that pick at that spot is someone I am willing to play for. I just want top pairing and PP1 minutes

 

3. Yes! I've actually done it a few times to cover for slacking or missing AGMs- which I'm getting a little experience being with the WJC right now, so thats neat.

 

4. When your player dresses, what piece of equipment goes on first? Which goes on last? Why?

 

5. BC would definitely nice, or even the east coast in Newfoundland where I unfortunately have some family. But to be honest, I'd probably have to say LA. I've got quite a few of online friends that live there that I'd like to meet.

 

6. A cooked carrot is better. A cooked carrot is the best vegetable known to man. I don't need to change your mind. You're allowed to be wrong.

Review: First off let me say that the name swap on the jersey looks very well done, as someone who has issues with it I can understand the struggle of how hard it can be to get it looking right. Overall it looks pretty good, I can see some small places where the cutout is a little shaky and could be refined, but those are difficult area's to do so (Around the skates and sticks.) My main complaint and/or suggestion would be the deadspace near the bottom of the image. If you lowered the player/goalie picture it wouldnt leave so much negative space, and would leave you more room that you could use to make the name larger. After its the post important part (to me). Overall, a solid graphic 7/10

While I appreciate the colours and the general pastel pallet, it does make the logos seem more out of place- though I suppose in the same way that helps them pop out from the busy background. The only small suggestion I would have is that since Seattle and Moscow share the colour gold, more use of its tone, or perhaps even just more red on Seattle's side. Tater Tottingham: The Spud Defensemen

 

 

It's hard growing up as a starchy tuber plant in PEI, Canada not knowing where you and your family might end up. For Tater Tottingham, like most of his family he was seasoned and baked long before he picked up a hockey stick, pulled on his first pair of skates and started dazzling on lookers.

 

 

This beet reporter got right down to Tater's roots, and heard this following conversation at the local arena:

"Is that a Potato skating?!"

"Why does that surprise you, there was one who was a goalie in the VHL that just retired recently. Even set a record I think."

"...because it's a potato?"

"Actually it's a Tater Tot....tingham. They're cousins. The players are I mean. Tater Tot's aren't cousins to potatoes. They're just cooked potatoes."

 

Growing up on the farm helped build impressive physique, and daily sprayings from his farm's irrigation system helped instill proper hydrating practices in the young Tot long before he hit puberty. (Author's Note: Puberty for the Tottingham family is reached once baking has occurred.) Tossing hay bales around provided ample upper body strength, while moving around farm equipment has of course attributed to his tree-trunk like legs. These qualities combined will certainly make sure Tater is... apeeling to potential teams looking to shore up their defense.

It has been a pretty big shadow for Tottingham to learn to play under considering the success of his older cousin, but thankfully Potato based creatures thrive in the darkness. Because they grow underground, usually. Nonetheless Tater Tottingham has done his best to differentiate himself from his cousin, choosing to play defense rather than being the last line of defense and taking on a slightly different moniker then his puck stopping relative.

Of course, there has been a little bit of learning curve for the budding defense-men, having showing up to the VHLM Draft Combine in his barn clothes. Of course on the farm a Combine is a piece of equipment, not a place for rigorous testing. Though he can't be blamed, as Combines are used for harvesting on a farm, and what is a VHLM team doing, if not looking to harvest his skills for the upcoming season. His all out offensive game is in starch comparison to many of those who share his position.

Speaking of season....ing (Great transition, I know), Tottingham is anything but a bland personality. A nice blend of loyalty, humility, basil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper and of course a strong work ethic combines to make for a promising career in the both hockey, and a downright tasty afterlife.

All and all, this cubed, battered and baked potato has led a short yet fulfilling life, all of which has led up to his current set of goals and obstacles. Because that's how time works, it only moves forward. Will he be a flash in the (baking) pan, or have a successful career? Only the timer will tell.

Week Ending May 29th, 2022

 

 

1. We play Houston in the first round of the playoffs, are you confident that we will do well?

1. Of course we will. We have me on the team. That always equates to success. Or something. To be honest, I just got here so Im not sure.
2. Considering what I saw in that one recent game... stay out of the penalty box.

3. Tombstone. Can't do anything without a good goalie. Trust me

4. No idea. Honestly just hope Tucke rand I get drafted to the same teams again.

5. Hot because panini's are the bomb. Summer Sausage. Smoked Provolone, spinach and a garlic aoli.

6. Camping/Fishing. Its amazing how easily they can just turn my mind off when it seems like nothing else will.

So for theme week, I decided to do a signature and shoutout for @NSG and his newly created goalie. NSG has always made me feel welcome and has always been free to offer help when needed. He's been one of the people who has honestly been one of the nicest people I've got to meet in his site/forum, and its probably lame but I've always felt connected to him. The original Henry Tucker and Tater Tot were both drafted by the same VHLM and VHL team, and even came up to the VHL at the same time. It got to the point that I chose to sign with Halifax because I saw Tucker Jr sign with them a day or so before. Except now things are swapped, and now he's the Goalie and I'm the player lol. So anyways, here you go! Thanks for all your help with the VHL and my brief stint with the SBA!
