  11. So, now that Zarek will be heading into the draft, I will be giving the GMs some light on the type of player he is. To start off, let's look at his S77 stats. He had 31 goals and 43 assists in 72 games played, just barely averaging over a point per game. As he is a defenseman, he tied for 8th for points scored in the VHLM as a defenseman. I would say this is pretty good for a VHLM rookie. He also tied for 6th for game winning goals. On the defensive side of things he was only slightly above average in my opinion, having 151 hits and 70 shots blocked. His +/- was -12 though, which is horrendous. He also had a hat trick during the regular season. In the playoffs he had 4 goals and 5 assists for 9 games played, just a point per game. His defense was lackluster as he had 7 hits and 5 shots blocked. Overall I would say it was a great season for Zarek and he helped contribute to the Aces getting as far as they did. Now for his playstyle. He is 6'8 and 230 pounds, so a big player to say the least. This helps him hit hard on defense and take the puck away by being able to reach with his long arms. This does slow him down quite a bit though. On offense, he likes taking lots of shots, and I mean A LOT. He shot 290 times in the S77 season. But it isn't like he doesn't pass, as he still had 43 assists. I would say he is very offensive minded for a defenseman. This may be very valuable to some teams though. I think he can also work on his defense and get it to way higher standards considering his size. The only major problem I see is that he might not work very well with teammates on the ice as he had a +/- of -12. Now, the last thing before the pros and cons, we have where Zarek would like to go with his VHL career. He is going to enter the draft this season obviously, but he will stay at 249 tpe to play with the Aces one last season, and then come up to the VHL. He does not really mind which team he goes to, but he would prefer Warsaw because it is in Poland, where he grew up, and very close to home so he can visit his family often. That doesn't mean he would hate being on any other team, he just wants to get into the VHL. Zarek said he is just excited to be getting drafted and earning a contract. Pros: + Offense minded defenseman. + Passes the puck around. + Not afraid to take shots on the goal. + Has big size, which can really help on defense. + Plays well in clutch moments. + Never has a negative morale. Cons: - Sluggish. - Sometimes shoots way too much. - May not work well with certain teammates. - Struggles defensively sometimes.
  12. 1. Just get in your updates and have fun! 2. No, not really. I think there are enough resources already for that. 3. I just like having fun and meeting cool people. Also love to see my players and teams do good. 4. Nothing really. Don't know enough about it to have any input about it. Though someone said a VHL expansion, which I think would be cool. 5. Sometimes I don't. I will going forward, because I want my player to have a successful VHL career. 6. I am sooo excited to see where I end up.
  13. This is a very cool article @Vat! It had everything you want to see in article, details, funny stuff, pictures/GIFs, and was interesting to read. 9.75/10!
  14. Cool article overall. Maybe add some more details and bolding/italicizing, and a picture. 7.5/10
  15. Well, here we are. The end of Zarek Kaczka's rookie season. To be honest, I didn't think he was going to do very good. That's why this season surprised me very much. I am not going to be going very in-depth today, as this article is probably going to only be 500 words, as I just need some quick TPE. Now anyways, let's get on with it. The season started out pretty well for Zarek, he was doing pretty great for a VHLM rookie. Scoring a lot, getting way more assists than I expected. He was also doing his job as a defenseman, posing above average defensive stats. He was also enjoying his time with the Aces in Las Vegas, the team atmosphere was great, and they were doing pretty good in the league. Kaczka also had many great season highlights. He had a hat trick against the Yukon Rush, which was his first ever. He also had a few 4 goal games, which I don't remember when exactly they were, I just know they happened. In total, he had 31 goals, and 43 assists, putting him at 74 points in 72 games played, barely over 1 point per game. Not bad for a rookie I would say. He also tied for 8th in defenseman points for the VHLM. Another impressive stat, he had 8 game winning goals, tied for 6th in the VHLM among all players. He did take 290 shots though, so I will say he probably should've got more goals considering how much time he was on the ice and how many shots he took. Another bad stat, his +/- was -12. I am going to say this was not necessarily his fault, considering he was a pretty good scorer for defensemen. Speaking of defense, he had 151 hits, and 70 shots blocked. This is by no means legendary, but I think it's slightly above average. Now, onto the second to last thing, the S77 playoffs. In 9 games played, Zarek had 4 goals and 5 assists, keeping at 1 point per game. He also included a game winning goal . His defensive performance was subpar I would say, only 7 hits and 5 shots blocked. The +/- was also still a problem, at -8, and during the playoffs I think he did not help as much towards keeping that lower. As for team performance, in the first round Las Vegas beat Saskatoon 4-1, which surprised me to say the least as during the regular season we usually lost to them. My friend @TheCHEESE was on Saskatoon which made it all the lot. Sadly, we got swept in the 2nd round by Miami, who would go on to win the Finals. Now for out last subject, the upcoming VHL draft. I think Zarek has shown that he can be a good defenseman. I have missed quite a few updates though, which the VHL GMs may see as a problem. But I see this as a way to be a potential steal in the draft, as Zarek will probably go a bit lower. I will start updating every week in the VHL though, so I will get a lot better. At the draft, I should have 189 tpe, which should put me around the late first round or early second round. We shall see though.
  16. I'll apply for this. Not getting it but oh well.
