JCV reacted to Triller in Commissioner to Replace M Team
In my temporary role as Commissioner I have decided that one of the teams in the M will be relocated.  As I am a benevolent dictator I will let the league choose who goes.  Don't worry, everyone on the team will have a new home and a new team.  Introducing the...

I have created a logo, a shoulder patch and a home jersey for the newly introduced Shuswap Guardians.  Protected by the wings of the guardian is a small slice of Shuswap Lake.  It is nestled under the majestic mountains of British Columbia's interior.  The jersey and socks are a gradient and the text for the number and names are a bit on the classier side.  Join the Guardians!

JCV reacted to hockeyis66 in Theme Week : Comish for a Day
For this season's theme week, I came up with 3 ideas that I would like to implement for my commissioner for a day:

1 – VHL Relocation of North American conference teams from NHL cities to non-NHL markets

Its time to give the non-NHL traditional markets some love, so one of the first things I would do as commish for the day is to move the 8 North American franchises to different markets.  Also keeping in mind regional travel and hopefully setting up rivals as well based on location.

Getting promoted from the VHLM would be:
    San Diego, Houston and Saskatoon

These 3 are already Mid-Western to Western on the map, so I would add one more west coast franchise in Portland, Oregon.  Now this leaves me with the opportunity to pick all 4 east coast teams from scratch – adding 2 Canadian teams within relative distance to each other is pretty easy in Hamilton and Quebec City and would leave the new VHL with 3 Canadian teams out of 8.  The 7th team to add is a pretty easy one and its time to bring back the Whalers to the city of Hartford.  There are lot of great choices for the 8th and final team and while I could start to look to go a little toward the Midwest, I am going to keep that east coast feel and give the final relocation to the city of Baltimore.

VHL North American Conference would be:
    Baltimore
    Hartford
    Hamilton
    Quebec
    Houston
    Portland
    San Diego
    Saskatoon

2 – Relocation and addition of 2 more franchises to the VHLM

With the VHLM losing 3 franchises to the VHL, this will leave openings that will need to be filled and lets make the league 12 teams now with 6 franchises in each division instead of 10 cause I like 12 teams in that league and it will help support #3 down below.  Keeping to the same idea as the VHL in that no NHL cities and an east of the Mississippi and west of the Mississippi divisions.

In the Western Division, Mexico City is the only one that would stay.  I would add a desert / southwestern team in Albuquerque and a midwestern team in Kansas City especially so players can enjoy the wonderful BBQ there if for nothing else.  This gives 3 teams that are relatively close wise and then I would start to move more north and place a team in Salt Lake City.  Rounding out the 6 team Western Division would be two Canadian cities in Regina and Kelowna.

In the Eastern Division, Mississauga and Halifax would be the lone 2 franchises staying, leaving 4 open spots.  I like the close idea of having Thunder Bay, Milwaukee (free beer at games?) and Indianapolis together in a mid-western feel to the league which then leaves one spot left.  I cant do Cleveland here, just cant.  Which leaves me down to Cincinnati v Charlotte as I just cant go into the deeper Southern US here either.  I like how Cincy is closer to the other cities than Charlotte but Charlotte is at least getting a foot print into a decent market into the South and not having as many teams in the Midwest.  It comes down to a coin toss….and Charlotte (nicknamed the Flair’s?) will be the 6th and final team in the new VHLM.

3 – Addition of a second player for some users

One of the fascinating aspects of a sim league is the opportunity to have a second player and to be able to tinker with a different player build that you normally would not have the chance or tried to do with your normal player.
Having a second player would only be available to those users who have had at least 2 players reach over 1000 tpe as a reward for their loyalty and longevity in the league.  The second player would not be allowed to have carryover, play on the same team as their other player or take advantage of special tpe giveaways to keep the second player’s tpe totals lower than the first player’s.

Users would not have to do double tasks as the tasks could be assigned to both players except for the career type of tasks which would have to be done separately.

This will also help aid in the expansion of the VHLM and hopefully get rid of some of the bot players as well and encourage more users to stick around and hit this tpe mark.  Maybe a user has been shy about becoming a goalie or being more of a defensive type of player whether it be a forward or defensemen and this opportunity would allow for that while still being able to enjoy the build and performance of the user’s main player.  Hopefully this would also allow the types of builds to become more diversified as well too allowing other users to follow in the footsteps of more veteran users with a different type of player and TPE placement to follow along to.

JCV reacted to Baby Boomer in All roads lead to Rome (and to the Cup) ep.74 (How are our rookies doing?)
    Welcome everyone,

We are now halfway through the regular season and I wanted to take a look at our rookies and see how they were doing. First, we have our alternate captain, Pope Francis @nurx. Pope was our last third overall pick in the S89 draft and the expectations were high for him. With his 48 points in 38 games, we can wihtout a doubt say that he reached them. In addition, Pope is leading the league in shots blocked with 123. Second, we have another defenseman, Alex DeLuca @Deluca. DeLuca is also doing good with his 20 points in 38 games and his differential of +17. Third, we have the forward Justin Williams @JCV. Williams has 41 points in 38 games and he is 4th in the team in this category. Finally, we have Mclean Hoover II @McLean Hoover who has 31 points in 38 games. Hoover II also has 171 shots and he is 3rd in the team in this category. So, all our rookies are doing good and are helping the team win this season.

I've just been nominated as Commissioner for a day!
What the heck should I do? What do the Commissioners usually do day to day?
I have no idea… But let's do this!

    New League Announcement:
Let's revamp the league a bit starting with adding a new league - VHLA.
Victory Hockey League Asia here we come!
Who's ready for this? Pfft, anyone who loves the VHLE of course!

    New League Breakdown:
Let’s get down to the nitty gritty details of how this new league will work.
The VHLA would act as another midtier step between the VHLM and VHL, much like the VHLE. Players will be drafted either to the VHLE or the VHLA before going to the VHL. To make things more fun for the GMs - There will be a lottery system in place for who gets to pick first from both leagues and in what order. Going back and forth between picks in the E and A. For example the first E team chosen gets to pick their first rounder, then when they are done with their first round pick, it will then switch to the first A team to make their first round pick. Once the A team is done with their first pick we’ll then bounce back to the next E team to do their 1st round pick. Round and round we go. How long will it take? Nobody knows! This would mean drafts for the VHLE and VHLA would happen somewhat simultaneously to ensure the same players don’t get drafted into both leagues. Live drafts streams could still happen but would most likely take double the time with both leagues picking then waiting for the other.
Is this probably going to be complicated and a pain in the ass? Most definitely, you’re welcome.

    New League Cup:
VHL community I hereby present you with your new VHLA Cup - The Dynasty Cup!
Fashioned especially for this brand new league, The Dynasty Cup boosts a simple yet elegant design. With a base made from Teak, the cup is silver with a few floral designs near the base. The flowers chosen for the base are Azaleas which can be found in countries across the continent. A hockey stick and puck are also included between the floral designs near the base. However the rest of the cup is clean without too many design distractions. The Dynasty Cup was created in Manila at Studio 925 by a team of metal workers in the Philippines. The metalsmiths proud of their creation mentioned their hopes of their home team taking home the Cup.

    VHLA Draft Teams and Countries
I present you with your 10 new VHLA draft teams and countries:

JCV reacted to Matt thunder in MATT IS BACK BABY
So, I really do not know where to start, but let's start from the top of my short list:

To be honest I don't really know why it took me so long to come back, I love this place and the amazing people that form this incredible comunity, but with school and other personal problems the vhl wasn't really my first thought, finding and idea for a media spot that has to be at least 500 words every week while you have to study for exams or just go out with friends to mantein a social life isn't really the ideal.
But hey, now that summer vacations have started I am really ready to make a real comeback (the comeback that I did with Basileus Jute wasn't really a comeback, and to be honest I am really ashamed of what I did, Basileus was a great player with a great potential, I fell so sorry for leaving him like that without saying anything to the Gm of my team or to anyone in general); I will try my best to be the most active I can, helping new members, as I still have a lot of experience under my belt, but also by writing more articles or media spots and of course by aslo trying to make the greatest player of all time, the G.O.A.T. 🐐

But on the short term, what are my plans?
Well of course is to be drafted by a VHLM, VHLE and VHL team, but about that I can say that I need to wait a bit as the season is far from over, luckily I joined a team, the Miami Marauders, so for now I think it is better if I think about making some assits or scoring some goals as I need to stay focused and not dream big;  I am also working on a background story for my new player, Sebastian Thunder, the son of the "great" Matt Thunder (I do not know if it counts as a spoiler or not, as I hope some people thought about it, the share the same last name, and I even waited a long time to make this story more realistic, matt was created in the season 72 while Sebastian was created during the season 90)

And that was all, I hope that this media spot answered some of the questions around me and why I was gone, but as I said before, I came back, but this time, I am here to stay, for the longest time possible, I would also thank all the members that welcomed me back in the forum, thank you very much, I hope to find you guys on the rink as soon as possible.
I also hope that you enjoyed this media spot and maybe you will read my next media spot or article, as it is always to good to see some reactions and reviews under his proper work.

As the weekend approaches, I eagerly pack my bags for a much-anticipated getaway to the vibrant city of Naples. Known for its rich history, mouthwatering cuisine, and breathtaking coastal views, Naples promises a perfect escape from the rigors of hockey. With anticipation in my heart, I set off on a journey of discovery and relaxation, with a burning ambition to explore more of Italy's treasures.
Upon arrival, I am immediately captivated by the bustling energy that permeates the streets of Naples. The city's vibrant atmosphere and colorful architecture create a backdrop that exudes both charm and authenticity. I choose to stay in the heart of the city, allowing me to immerse myself in its lively spirit and experience the true essence of Naples.
Eager to explore, I begin my adventure by strolling through the narrow, winding alleys of the historic center. The scent of freshly baked pizza fills the air, beckoning me to indulge in the city's most famous culinary creation. I follow my nose to a local pizzeria and savor every bite of the iconic Neapolitan pizza. The combination of the thin, chewy crust, tangy tomato sauce, and creamy mozzarella is pure perfection, leaving me craving more.
With a satisfied stomach, I venture further to discover the city's historical treasures. I find myself standing in awe before the majestic Castel Nuovo, a medieval fortress that guards the entrance to Naples' harbor. Its imposing architecture and rich history transport me back in time, igniting my imagination and appreciation for the city's storied past.
Eager to embrace the city's coastal charm, I make my way to the picturesque district of Posillipo. The scenic drive along the coast rewards me with breathtaking views of the sparkling blue sea and the majestic Mount Vesuvius looming in the distance. I find solace in the tranquility of the waterfront, enjoying moments of peace and reflection as I watch the waves crash against the rugged cliffs.
No visit to Naples would be complete without exploring the world-famous archaeological site of Pompeii. Stepping into this ancient city frozen in time, I am humbled by the magnitude of the ruins and the tragic story they tell. Walking through the preserved streets, I can almost hear the echoes of the past, imagining the lives that once thrived in this bustling Roman city.
Returning to Naples, I indulge in the city's vibrant nightlife. The lively neighborhood of Chiaia comes alive with bars and clubs, offering a perfect opportunity to let loose and celebrate. The lively music, friendly locals, and electric atmosphere create an unforgettable evening of dancing and laughter, creating memories that will be cherished long after the trip.
On my final day in Naples, I treat myself to a leisurely boat trip to the picturesque island of Capri. The crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean beckon me to dive in and experience the beauty of the hidden coves and stunning sea caves. I soak up the sun's warmth as I cruise along the coast, taking in the stunning natural beauty that surrounds me.
As I reluctantly bid farewell to Naples, I carry with me a sense of rejuvenation and inspiration. The city's vibrant energy, culinary delights, and historical treasures have left an indelible mark on my heart and soul. The weekend getaway has provided the perfect balance of relaxation, exploration, and cultural immersion, leaving me yearning to explore more of Italy's wonders.
With an ambitious spirit, I dream of future adventures in Italy, envisioning myself strolling through the enchanting streets of Florence, admiring the artistry of Michelangelo's David and indulging in the Tuscan cuisine. I imagine exploring the romantic canals of Venice, gliding in a gondola and savoring the city's timeless charm. I yearn to visit the iconic landmarks of Rome, such as the Colosseum and the Vatican, immersing myself in the rich history that permeates every corner.
Italy, with its diverse regions and cultural heritage, beckons me to explore further. The charming coastal towns of the Amalfi Coast, the vineyards of Tuscany, the enchanting lakes of Lombardy—all these destinations fuel my wanderlust and ignite my curiosity. I am driven by a desire to uncover the hidden gems, to taste the regional delicacies, and to immerse myself in the warmth and hospitality of the Italian people.
As I board the plane back to Rome, I carry not just memories but also a newfound determination to visit other areas of Italy and continue my love affair with its rich culture, picturesque landscapes, and tantalizing flavors. The weekend in Naples was just the beginning of my Italian odyssey, and I cannot wait to embark on future journeys that will deepen my connection with this magnificent country.

    A Night in Rome

As the sun begins its descent, casting a warm golden glow over the ancient city of Rome, I eagerly embrace the vibrant energy of the night that is about to unfold. The city takes on a new persona as dusk settles, with its iconic landmarks illuminated, and the streets come alive with a palpable sense of anticipation and excitement.
I begin my evening by strolling leisurely along the cobblestone streets, taking in the mesmerizing sights and sounds of this enchanting city. The charming melodies of street musicians serenade me, filling the air with an irresistible ambiance. The tantalizing aromas of Italian cuisine waft through the streets, teasing my senses and enticing my palate.
Embracing the local culture, I decide to indulge in an authentic Roman dining experience at a cozy trattoria tucked away in a hidden corner of the city. The intimate atmosphere and the warm welcome from the staff make me feel instantly at home. I peruse the menu, eager to savor the renowned flavors of Rome.
The waiter recommends a classic dish, cacio e pepe, a simple yet exquisite combination of freshly ground black pepper, pecorino cheese, and al dente pasta. I place my order, anticipation building with each passing moment. As the dish arrives at my table, I am captivated by its simplicity and elegance. The first bite is a revelation, as the flavors dance on my taste buds, perfectly balanced and harmonious.
Satisfied and energized by the culinary delight, I continue my journey through the illuminated streets of Rome. The vibrant Piazza Navona beckons me with its lively atmosphere, bustling cafes, and talented street performers. Laughter fills the air as artists captivate the audience with their mesmerizing acts, while the aromas of freshly brewed coffee and sweet pastries entice me to stop for a moment and enjoy the lively scene.
As midnight approaches, I find myself standing in awe before the majestic Colosseum. The ancient amphitheater stands as a testament to Rome's enduring legacy, evoking a profound sense of awe and reverence. I take a moment to reflect on the history that surrounds me, feeling a deep connection to the countless stories and triumphs that have unfolded within these hallowed walls.
As the night comes to a close, I leave behind the bustling streets and the echoes of laughter and music, carrying with me the indelible memories of a magical evening in Rome. The city's vibrant energy, culinary delights, and timeless landmarks have left an indelible mark on my heart and spirit. As I return home, ready to face the challenges of the upcoming hockey season, Rome's enduring beauty and the joy of that unforgettable night serve as a constant source of inspiration, reminding me of the incredible journey that lies ahead.
