Welcome everyone, The morning of the draft, the Rome Gladiators traded their S85 2nd round pick to Bratislava in exchange of their S86 2nd round pick and their S86 4th round pick. After this trade, Rome had two 3rd, a 4th, a 5th and a 6th. With the two 3rd, the Gladiators drafted Halvar Torbjorn @Rayzor_7 and Vinny Lecavalier @Spartakiller2who will both play in the M this season. In the 4th round, Rome drafted their future #1 goalkeeper in Jeremy Swayman @Agitoand in the 5th round they took a guess by selecting Phil Strasmore @Phil, but he got called up and he will play in the VHL in the upcoming season. We wish him the best of luck even if we would have loved to have him on the team. Finally, the Rome Gladiators drafted Big Daddy @Ron Gorgonzolain the 6th round. A pretty good draft overall. Welcome everyone, S84 was the last year of Russel Dixon's career and his fifth seasons with the Rome Gladiators. Dixon is part of the team since the inaugural season of the VHLE in S80 and never left the team. Russel scored 102 goals and added 143 assists fora total of 245 points in 360 games. S81 really was his best season where he scored 33 goals and 34 assists for 67 points in 72 games. With those stats, Russel Dixon leads for the number of games, goals, assists, points and shots with 1057, in all the history of the team. He is also second in hits with 510 and twelfth in shots block with 125. Dixon has been an assistant captain of the Gladiators during the five seasons he was with the team. The team and me really wanted to wish him the best of luck in his future and also congratulate him for what he accomplished during his career. @Rjdixon01 Thanks everyone, see you next week and let's go Gladiators!!!
