  1. I second this, the rivalry has only just begun. (McKeggegger is 2nd in the VHLM in total scoring and was drafted 9th. Biggest steal. ) Best of luck to everyone in this draft class though!
  2. *Did I make a theme week media spot about my player's rivalry with his digestive system? Yes. Enjoy.* *show's intro plays* Joe Smith: Hello folks and welcome back to the show, and today we have a rather peculiar story to headline our interview. Today we will be talking to Ottawa Lynx star Gregger McKeggegger, more specifically about his pregame routine. Before a stepping onto gameday ice, before lacing up the skates, before even driving to the rink, Gregger McKeggegger has a battle to fight. His pregame meals have been the bane of his existence for his whole career. He has such an issue deciding what to eat, because he has a strangely sensitive stomach. When McKeggegger finishes a game, there is a 50/50 chance you can find him in the bathroom. One time a reporter was so impatient to talk to him, he went into the bathroom with McKeggegger and tried to talk to the player while he shattered porcelain. That reporter did not keep his job. In any case, the thing that makes Gregger's problem so confusing, is how meals will never keep the same result. He's had mac and cheese as a perfect pregain carbo load, then the next time he tried it, he had to leave the bench at the end of the 3rd period in desperation. So without further ado, let's bring on Mr. McKeggegger and get some more insight! *Gregger McKeggegger slowly walks into frame and sits down across from Joe. He looks extremely reluctant.* Smith: Hello Gregger! I'm very excited to talk with you today! Gregger McKeggegger: Yeah I uh, I'm contractually obligated to be here. Smith: Well I'd like to get right to the point of the matter, why do you have such struggles with your digestive system and pre-game meals? McKeggegger: Oh wow uh, I mean I'm not sure. I haven't really gotten any medical reason, just I- Do I really have to talk about this? *Smith taps a paper on his desk* Oh man okay, yeah I mean pre-game meals sometimes don't agree with me after a game. Usually right after. And there hasn't seem to been a fix, some meals work one night and then fail the next. It really is infuriating and I just want to- *McKeggegger realizes he's starting to get heated about this topic on live television and he sinks into his chair* Smith: That does sound awful, we actually have some stats here on this blossoming rivalry, and- *McKeggegger's mouth opens slightly and his eyes widen* -the numbers are fascinating. When having breakfast for dinner, McKeggegger has had to use the bathroom 26/40 times. Chinese food has a strange impact, having a 12 out of 24 rate, an even .500. Pasta used to be successful, starting off on 6 straight dinners without a rush to the bathroom after, however now the last 38 times ol 'Kegger here has had pasta there's been a disaster. It really does make you wonder, what do you think the secret cure will be? McKeggegger: And i'm not gonna say, I am not taking any chances with jinxes. I will triumph over my stupid pre-game meals. And wait, did you steal that paper from my house? I'm the only one who should have access to those stats. Smith: I did not take a single thing while I explored your house. McKeggegger: You wha- Smith: And that's where we are going to be ending today's interview! *McKeggegger just stares at him in shock* Thanks so much for coming on the show Gregger! *show's outro plays* Word Count : 595 For Week of 2/19
  3. 1. Just gotta tinker with lines, make sure the chemistry is good. Honestly maybe a full rest day or two, we've been working pretty hard to get better in practice and maybe some rest and relaxation would help. 2. Just win. Stop losing. Not much to it really, we had a really good streak for awhile, let's get back to it. 3. It's hard not to just look at the top of the stats and see captain nugget dominating the league. It's an extremely impressive season. 4. I think Oslo has a strong chance in the VHLE, and in the big leagues I'll go with the extremely common pick of Vancouver. 5. I think either winning the cup last year with Vancouver as my old player retired, or playing on Bratislava in the first ever VHLE season and having a career revitalization. 6. One of Mexico City or Ottawa, Mississauga also has a pretty good chance.
  4. 1. I feel fantastic about my personal performance. Going into my VHL draft year I wanted to impress and I believe that's exactly what I'm doing. 2. Yeah definitely, we've had some big wins against really good teams. It would be nice to stop dropping points against bottom half teams. 3. I had such a great time in Bratislava with Donny Carter, I definitely want to get another chance to win a cup there. 4. NHL Player Greg McKegg. 5. Media spots definitely, I've found two different forms of them I especially like. I do interviews to get a quick point task out when needed (usually of myself or created characters), or I do trade trees to get a ton of weeks worth of tpe. (A massive one is coming sort of soon.) 6. Pancakes definitely. Simple and delicious every time.
  5. That would be sick, I can dm you on discord with some questions if you want!
  6. Game 74: Seattle Bears vs. Vancouver Wolves A game between two of the top teams in the league. Seattle looking to hand the Wolves their first regulation loss set this game up to be very intense. It turned into a defensive masterclass for both teams. The first period, the two teams combined for 10 shots. Total. Only one found the back of the net, when Yaroslav Bogatyrev put the Bears up by one near the end of the first 4 seconds into a power play. Unfortunately for Seattle, something must have happened in that Vancouver locker room. The Wolves started the second period hungry. Dogwood Maple tied the game around a minute in, and the intensity soared. Sergey Preobrazhensky and Randy Bobandy threw down a few minutes after that goal and the shots started to pile on. However both goalies stood strong. Entering the third, the teams were locked together. A power play for each team came and went with no goals, and this game was going down to the wire. That is, until Svatopluk Puk broke the deadlock and made the game 2-1. Puk had a goal and an assist as the Wolves held on to become 9-0-1.
  7. *Show’s theme song plays as the camera fades in to show Joe Smith sitting at a new desk in about the center of the room. New guest Smitty Joseph sits in an armchair next to him.* Smith : Folks welcome back to the show, and today I’m with Smitty Joseph, an analyst on our broadcast team. Today I’m here with him to break down how the teams in the VHLM are looking after the first 10 games of the season. Smitty how’s it going brother? (Smith really draws out the R in brother) Joseph : (In one of the most fake sounding Southern accents) I’m doing just fantastic Joe! I’m so excited to take a look at all 10 of the VHLM’s finest. Smith : Well we’ll see how many of them are fine, and who’s on the decline! (Joe looks pretty proud of himself for that rhyme) Joseph : Yes. (awkward pause) Smith : So starting with the 10th place team, the Saskatoon Wild are in the basement. What’s going wrong for this team Smitty, and is there anything they can do to fix it? Joseph : Well Joe, Sasky has had just about everything go wrong so far. However nobody can be called out of the game at this point, and that was proved when their 11th game they finally got their first win, and it was against the powerhouse San Diego team, so if 4th overall pick Stefan Norris @Elman Diablo can steal some games, their better forwards can keep up production, and the depth steps up, this team could be competitive. Smith : It does beg the question Smitty, do they even want to be competitive this year? Joseph : Well Joe, with that record I’m really not sure. (Both laugh in a very white way) Smith : Looking to the next team, in 9th, the Reapers lay buried in their own grave. Joseph : Well they are an interesting situation. On offense, they own an extremely talented top line on paper. Strangely enough they’ve had some key players with struggles, highlighting Timothy Swearingen @Timmy30 , who only has 9 points in 12 games. I’m sure he’ll find his pace, however even if he does, Philly may not climb up the table. They don’t have the defense to make a huge impact, and between the pipes also is not the strongest, with veteran Dylan Dubnyk @ThatsGreissy . This is looking like more of a rebuild year for the Reapers. Smith : Well Dubnyk is quite the story, he took a 6 season break before returning to hockey. Big respect to him despite the on ice performance not being what he might have wanted. Maybe he’ll be part of a feel good story throughout the year! Joseph : That certainly would be a spectacle. Now how about we move away from the bottom teams and into where the competition heats up. Smith : Yes! It’s what makes the VHLM so interesting, much of the league is able to be competitive through the year, and it makes for some very entertaining hockey. These next three teams are all floating around the same tier right now, but which should be moving higher in the standings, and which deserve to be here? Joseph : Well first off Joe, I think it’s obvious to me and everyone else that Houston is the best team of the bunch, and has a better roster than at least half of the teams above them. Now a good roster on paper does not always translate to success on the ice, however Houston is just too good to be stuck at .500, and should start racking up wins sometime soon as long as the 5 skaters can support rookie goalie Sage Barclay @Waffleboard39 . As for Halifax and Las Vegas, I believe both could be decent, Halifax with more of a chance than Las Vegas, though this is around where I feel many of us on the broadcast team thought the two would be this year. They are bottom 5 teams in the league, not that they are bad teams, but the weaknesses in their rosters are greater than the ones on teams higher up the list. Smith : After those two teams, we have break into the top 5, with two teams who are fighting for a spot higher up. Joseph : Right you are, and fascinatingly enough, Miami and Ottawa have the two best goalies of the top five, and are stuck on the outside of the top 3. Both have very strongly built teams. Ottawa has a lot of talent, some which is not meshing, but that is where goalie Matthew McCagg @Jack kidd comes into play to help win games. McCagg is not only winning games, but leading the league in SV%, GAA, and shutouts. Leading the way on offense in Ottawa is rookie and 9th overall pick Gregger McKeggegger @TheNeonShaman , with 15 points in 10 games. You also just gotta expect the 1st overall pick FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist @STZ to challenge for the team lead at some point soon though. Once the rest of the top talent joins McKeggegger and McCagg and plays up to their potential, this will be a scary team. Ottawa does need wins against big teams however, as 3 of their 6 have come against the struggling Saskatoon squad. Smith : And how about Miami? Joseph : Well their situation is not really the same, as the top end talent on Miami is performing at a very high level. Wingers Swinsola @Swinsola and Keita Kourou @woog lead the way with 21 and 18 points in 10 games respectively. They are playing exactly how Miami fans should expect them to. The rest of the team has been alright, there’s two other point per game players, one being defenseman… (checks paper) @Ninjadude. If I say that name, I risk hurting people’s feelings, so I will just say it’s a very impressive season from the rookie. The rest of the team does need to come alive a bit for the Marauders to make strides up the standings. Smith : Well, if either of those teams want to make it into the top three, they’ve got quite a challenge getting past any of the teams already there. San Diego and Mississauga both are powerhouses, and Mexico City is yet to lose a game. What’s behind these teams’ dominance? Joseph : Well Joe, each team has something different going for them. I love the offensive and defensive depth that San Diego has. They can roll 3 full effective lines, one of which is elite. On defense, their top D pair is one of the best in the league, and the Marlins may have the best 3rd defenseman in the league with Admir Bala @Tyler . In goal they are a little weak, however there’s no doubt rookie Olivier Gauthier @fonziGG will improve throughout the season. On Mississauga, a decent second year goalie and one very good second year defensemen are joined by the best offensive core in the league. The Hounds have a ridiculous top 6 that is a threat to any team in the league, and if they pick up some more defensemen, I fully expect them to take first place. Smith : Even over the 10-0-0 Mexico City Kings? Joseph : Yes Joe, especially over the Kings. It’s actually a very strange situation in first place. Looking at that Mexico City team on paper, they are debatably the 6th best team in the league behind all the other teams in the top 5 and Houston. But when their skates touch the ice, it’s like seeing a whole new beast. The scariest first line in the league has all three players at over 2 points per game, and make up 3 of the top 5 scoring spots. Their top defenseman Colton Heffelfinger @heffcolton is also having a fantastic season, and takes another of the top 5 scoring spots, along with leading all defensemen by 4 points. These players have just elevated their game to a new level, and third year goalie Ross Glagau @Zetterberg has been lights out, and is currently undefeated. The strange thing is that many of the players on Mexico City are depth players on most teams. But on this team? Only 1 of 9 skaters is not a point per game. And that player has 9 points in 10 games. The work done by GM team @badcolethetitan and @Thunder is incredible, all the players mesh so perfectly together and have helped to create this storybook start to the season. Smith : So Smitty, after all that, who do you think is going to take home the Founders? Joseph : Joe I believe that it’s going to be an intense year, but the Mississauga Hounds just won’t be denied with their amazing forward core. I believe a few defensive pickups will be the key to a Cup for the Hounds. Do you have a pick Joe? Smith : I have a feeling it’s gonna be one of the teams not in the top 3 currently. I don’t have an exact pick, but Miami, Ottawa, and Houston. One of those three is winning the Cup. Joseph : I like it. Thanks for having me on the show man! Smith : Of course! And to all you watching or listening, I hope you’ve enjoyed our rundown! Big thanks to Smitty Joseph for being here, and he will probably be back on soon. Until next time, Joe Smith signing off! *Show’s theme song plays as the screen fades to black.* Word Count : 1551 For Weeks of : 1/29, 2/5, 2/12

  10. *Show’s theme song plays as the camera fades in to show Joe Smith and Gregger McKeggegger sitting in two chairs across from each other.* Smith : Folks welcome back to the show, and we are joined today by 1st round pick in the VHLM, Gregger McKeggegger. Gregger you were chosen 9th overall by the Ottawa Lynx, how are you settling into life in Canada, and are you happy with being chosen by the Lynx? McKeggegger : I’m definitely happy with it, yeah. The team is pretty decorated and has enjoyed some success over the past few years. It’s a strange thing going back to Ottawa. Obviously that’s where I was drafted in the NHL and I had a less than positive experience. I would say that I’m excited though, and I’m not going to let my experience with the Senators organization impact how I see the Lynx, and I’m seeing it as a new start. I’ve been given a chance to restart in the same city that I previously was shut down in, and I’m ready to prove myself this season. Smith : That’s fascinating that you were drafted to the same city twice. Do you think that played a part in being picked by the Lynx? Like they wanted to prove that Ottawa is a good city? McKeggegger : I have no idea. Maybe. I’m going in with an open mind either way. Smith : Always a good mindset to have! What are your goals for this season Greg? Can I call you that? McKeggegger : Ah, I don’t really care. And I’m looking to be a big contributor. You know, I was the 9th overall pick, I’ll be playing with the 1st overall pick, I think there’s some expectations I do well. I definitely plan to at least. If the points don’t stack up, then hopefully I can be a strong defensive presence on that line. Smith : Well certainly lofty! *silence as Gregger wonders if Joe forgot to say part of his sentence.* Well those are certainly some lofty goals! *Gregger looks at Joe with concern.* How about looking outside the VHLM? In your future do you see yourself playing in the VHLE or even the VHL? McKeggegger : I mean of course! Right now that’s my best opportunity, and there’s so many cool places to play in both leagues. I would be a fool to not want to play there. It’s a league that I honestly didn’t really pay enough attention to when I was a young player, and the history behind it makes it a very exciting opportunity for me. I hope that someday I’ll make it! Smith : I’m sure all of us in the studio and watching at home will be watching your progress with great interest! That’s all we have today folks! Thanks for being here Greg! McKeggegger : Uh, thanks Joe, it was an experience to say the least. Smith : We’ll be back with another interview on- *The broadcast cuts out and the screen goes black. Then the show's outro plays.* Word Count : 500 For Week of 1/22/23

  15. 1. I was surprised, and a little shaken too. One more loss in the next sim and I'm not sure how it would have turned out. Those losses were definitely a wakeup call though, and one we needed badly. 2. It was a chaotic series, exciting from beginning to end, and with those first four games we could have easily dug ourselves a hole, but proving our resilience and winning those next two games was a huge boost to our confidence. 3. It's definitely still Biggie, what a fantastic playoffs and amazing season in total. Stinks that he had to be traded for the cap. 4. Well it's a massive shakeup. Luckily Vasile Lamb is a fantastic player, but the defense definitely leaves a lot to be desired. 5. No I have no clue, the E hasn't been around that long so not that many players have even had that opportunity yet. 6. I think that the chances definitely got tougher. Key pieces have left and the team looks a lot different. However what I know is that this team has no quit, and if any team would find a way, it would be this one.
  16. It was difficult for Donny Carter to take the moment in. He’d had a long career. An extra year in the VHLM had cause for a late entry into the VHL. Though it also gave him the ability to play in the first ever VHLE season, which was one of his favorite seasons of his career. It didn’t end in a championship however. 3 years in Riga that started rough, and ended with a revival season, however the playoff success did not follow. Then came the second half of his career, where stability was thrown out the window. A year in Davos was mostly an experiment, and it did not go well, he put up the lowest point total aside from his rookie season. After Davos, he was traded to Malmo, and rediscovered his love for hockey. Even though they were not successful, he finally knew what it was like to be an elite player for a team, and was a key piece to many of the Nighthawks’ wins that season. Entering his final year, he was hoping Malmo would be a contender, and unfortunately that dream was not realized. So GM @KaleebtheMighty decided to trade him to a contender to give him one last chance at a championship. His time in Vancouver started rocky, the team was struggling to click. Then, in the final stretch of the season, in a race for the playoffs, the Wolves became a super team. Every single player on the team was contributing in the right way. The wins added up quickly, and the Wolves easily clinched a playoff spot. The path would not be easy however. Starting with a quick wild card series win against Seattle, the Wolves would have to take on the top team in the league, the Calgary Wranglers. This was where this Vancouver team showed they would be a difficult team to beat. Calgary was out in five games. Up next was Chicago, a more difficult series that went 7 games, though again Vancouver was victorious. All of a sudden, Donny found himself in his first ever finals, in the final year of his career. The pressure got the better of him at first, and in the first 4 games, where the team went 2-2, Donny was almost invisible. However in a decisive game 5, he exploded with 4 assists, and he and the Wolves were one win away. However after a loss in game 6, the series would come down to a game 7. Donny didn’t sleep great that night, but he had tons of energy in the morning, more due to his nerves. The game was intense, both goalies were showstopping, and after regulation, it was 1 to 1. Then, in overtime, the pass by mid-season arrival via blockbuster trade, Sergey Preobrazhensky @Bulduray_1, to defenseman Pierre Emile Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito. The shot, a seeing eye wrister from the point, right into the back of the net. The Vancouver bench exploded, and Donny Carter was finally a champion. Hoisting the cup above his head, there were too many emotions to take in. It was a wild journey, and never an easy one, but in his final season, Donny was able go out on top. Word Count : 533 For Week of 1/8
  17. 1. The blockbuster gamble made by swapping superstars and acquiring Sergey Preobrazhensky turned out to be a very important trade, and it shook up the roster in a perfect way. 2. Dogwood Maple has emerged into a star in the VHL and especially in the playoffs Maple has made a massive impact. 3. Biggie Cheese no question, Cheese is one of the best defensemen in the league and has been a huge reason for the team's success. 4. Again Biggie Cheese. The impact Biggie makes is undeniable and we would not be in the finals without him. 5. Svatopluk Puk jumped over 40 points in production, definitely the most improved. 6. We keep rolling. Just keep playing like we've been playing.
  18. 1. It definitely did, not because I don't believe in our team, but because a sweep is such a decisive and dominant victory. It's a nice way to start the playoffs. 2. Very confident, we had some great games with them in the regular season and are already all warmed up in the playoffs. 3. Alienware PC, I feel like it's obvious but I've used this PC for gaming, editing, and so much more for the last 2 years, it's been extremely useful. 4. Acne cream, it was like being given a gift and being told at the same time, "Hey, fix your skin!" 5. The gift of a clutch goal in the playoffs, because Donny Carter wants a cup. 6. A Patrice Bergeron winter classic jersey (which I got and it's amazing)
  19. Merry Christmas!
  20. It's finally winter
  21. Player : Gregger McKeggegger Position : LW Height : 6' 5" Weight : 205 Age : 22 Hometown : Boston, Massachusetts Gregger McKeggegger, or Kegger for short, found a love for hockey at a very young age. Watching the Bruins, he would imitate plays in his living room and dream of being on the ice to win the cup. Kegger was signed up for junior hockey in Boston when he was 6. While his skating and physical attributes were at the same level as his peers, his stick skills were always a level above. He had a nasty shot for his age, and putting up a any less than 2 goals every game he played was an anomaly. When he turned 9, Kegger started to grow, and quickly grew to 5' 8" before middle school. He was pretty tall for his age, and he continued to grow through middle school, hitting 6 feet tall before his freshman year started. How did his height attribute to his hockey skills? It made him nearly unstoppable. Kegger could strip you of the puck and then take his long strides past the defense and finish with a beautiful shot top right corner. By the time he was drafted into the NHL, he was 6' 5", and had put up monstrous numbers in the USA development program. The Ottawa Senators drafted him 8th overall, and he seemed to be trending towards cracking the roster in training camp. But during the preseason he broke his leg, and thus started a long streak of almost getting into the majors but then being halted by injury and inconsistencies. By the time his leg fully healed, he was put into the AHL to condition, and something about his game wasn't the same. Kegger became more cautious, and his height became a hinderance. The Senators kept hoping he would emerge as a top prospect, but he kept struggling. 3 years passed, and he wasn't able to break the lineup. McKeggegger's potential went from potential star to middle six AHL player, however the Senators still wanted to resign him. After talking it over with his family, he decided to reject the offer, and go back to college. He got into Providence College, and started the process of majoring in business. With a little push from his girlfriend and family, he decided to try out for the hockey team. Long story short, Kegger made the team and made an impact fast. That impact did not go unnoticed, several NHL teams started to pay attention to him, and ask about his plans for the near future. He never really paid any of these offers much thought, due to his experience with the Senators. That was until an offer from another hockey league came to him, and caught his attention. The Philadelphia Reapers of the VHLM had an interest in signing Kegger, and he was instantly intrigued. He had never given much thought to leagues outside of the NHL, and the whole VHL system was incredibly interesting to him. The fact that it was a heavily international league, and he would get to travel a lot to new places attracted him to the league. After getting into more communications with the team, he was informed that he could continue his studies as he played for the team. After much thought, and more excitement than anything, Kegger told management that he would love to join the team. Kegger is now off to Philly, trying to find the talent that led to his magical junior years, and with eyes set on the VHL. Word Count : 591 For Week Of : 12/25
