  1. From the Ottawa Sports Newspaper written by Scott James: In a surprising move the Ottawa Lynx have at the very least temporarily traded Armani Calamari to the Philadelphia Reapers. The deal includes the clause that Ottawa controls his rights and can get him again provided he does not go into the VHLE next season. We shall see what else comes up from this new interesting development... From the Philadelphia Sports Newspaper written by Jack Johnson: Armani Calamari's return to Philadelphia adds another piece to a Philadelphia team gunning for a title. He was welcome back to the Reapers home stadium with open arms as well with the crowd giving him a huge ovation when he got onto the ice. Quote the man himself: "I did kind of miss Philadelphia and I am very happy with the deal overall. The clause where I have the possibility of returns to Ottawa is a very big plus in my eyes as I do not feel like I have completely left them high and dry. I cannot see the future however so at the moment I am just working on getting that title for Philadelphia." Philadelphia will be gunning for that title alright and the next few weeks should be extremely exciting.
  2. I'll answer my first draft interview after work

  3. 1. I think having some way to highlight the best articles and graphics of the week might be cool because it will help show who is doing well with thier content amd give them recognition. 2. maybe having optional interviews with draftees when draft season comes so teams can know more about them 3. Bringing back the Allstar game would be awesome as well so that the best players can show off thier best stuff.
  4. From the Ottawa Sports Newspaper written by Scott James: Despite all the excitement surrounding the upcoming VHLE, it would seem that Armani Calamari wants to stay put in Ottawa for at least the time being. He revealed that he would rather stay close to home rather then play overseas and appears to want to lead Ottawa to a championship. Quote the man himself: "Hey I love the concept of the European league and I love the fact that they are giving that region a chance to have a few more teams. But honestly I feel like staying down in the VHLM and being in Ottawa close to family is the right move for me. We have an amazing group of guys here and I want to help them get a title. Might not happen this season but still. This of course might change with time, but as of now that is where my head is." If this does indeed remain true this is huge for the Ottawa Linx as it means that another peice of thier core is staying with them for a potential title run next season. We will see what changes with time but there is plenty to get excited for in Ottawa.
  5. 1. Getting some picks is always nice, even if saying goodbye is hard 2. To be honest Philly has a great one. 3. The city of Louisville Kentucky that is pretty close to me 5. I guess in a position to succeed? 6. I just want to win games and rhe score does not matter. I guess 10-9? 7. Maybe Columbus just because they are somewhat close to here?
  6. From the Ottawa Sports Newspaper, written by Scott James: Armani Calamari's games in Philadelphia while wearing an Ottawa jersey have been interesting to say the least. Despite Philadelphia's reputation as an extremely tough and vicious crowd, they cheered when Armani made his entrance. He has seemed to have won them over when he was in Philadelphia with his drive and positive attitude and there were a couple of people wearing his Reapers jersey. Here is a quote from the man himself: "Philadelphia is a crazy sports town I saw it firsthand. They ether really love you or really hate you. I am just glad they seem to love me from my time in Philadelphia despite not being on the Reapers anymore. It is definitely something I really appreciate. I could have had a much more frosty reception but they seem to have been kind to me." As for the Ottawa Lynx they seem to be currently in the middle of the pack when it comes to this VHLM season. They have gotten over a huge winless streak with a recent shootout win and they seem to just hope to build on this going forward. The games coming up will be crucial to thier playoff chances.
  7. Hey guys and gals and everything in between WildfireMicro here to talk about what I think of the names of some of the few VHLE teams that have been reveled. This was originally going to be a look at the logos but they have not been revealed as of this time or I cannot find the posts that have them. I will only go over 3 of them because I have actual things to say about them. Without further ado let's begin! For the first one I have got to say that the name Berlin Steel which is going for the colors of black and orange which does fit into the German flag. The name is a great name for a team from Berlin Germany and seems to celebrate it's history without going into it's more unsavory parts. It is actually the name of a company in Berlin as well which I hope does not lead to any copyright issues though I believe the name is way to board to do that. The name is also way better in my opinion then the name Berlin Fire Salamanders in the ISFL which does not make much sense to me. I think the logo should incorporate steel making of some kind or maybe some kind of steel instrument. Alright the next one is the Paris Revolution which appears to be going for the colors of red and blue and possibly white which perfectly fits into the French Flag. The name does seem fitting for how many revolutions happened in France and especially with the famous French Revolution itself. There is a great Oversimplified video on the French Revolution so I know a bit about it. I think the logo should be a Frenchman holding the flag and hopefully avoid any signs of a guillotine. There is not much mode to say with this besides Vive La France which I probably butchered very badly. Next up we have the Stockholm Vikings who are from Stockholm Sweden and that definitely makes sense as I can associate Stockholm and especially Sweden with vikings. The colors are red and orange which unfortunately I am familiar enough with Stockholm to get any meaning from. I usually associate Sweden with blue and yellow. Still I do like it when those colors are put together and I am glad they did not go with purple and gold as well. I think the logo should ether be a proud and powerful viking or some kind or viking ship. Maybe even include an axe somewhere in there like in the vikings hand or on the flag of the ship. Well that is the only three places I am familiar enough with to have opinions on the names of. The other cool name I can see is the Bratislava Watchmen because I like the sound of that name but I am not really familiar with the country it is in. Overall I really like how the VHLE teams are shaping up and I am intrigued to see what will be happening going forward. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you all on the ice!
  8. 1. I think our defense should improve as it seems to have been our biggest issue. 2. Maybe but I am not 100% sure. 3. Don't watch NHL much bit I love being in the pool and BBQ 4. Just the best center I can be. 5. I'd rather watch a movie usually 6. I guess fresh water..?

  11. "Alright everyone gather around!" The Ottawa Lynx coach says as he blows the whistle at the Ottawa Lynx preseason practice. Armani Calamari has been subtly impressing the staff at Ottawa with his improvement since his time at Philadelphia and the team has a surprise for him. "It's time to announce captains and alternative captains! These guys are showing off what they can do time and time again and I am glad to announce who gets the patch this season. The main captain for this season is Ben Aky!" Ben smiles as he shakes the coaches hand and the team gives him a small applause. "Hey man congratulations" Armani says as he shakes Ben's hand "you definitely deserve that patch, glad to be playing with you" "Alright settle down" the coach smiles "the first alternative captain we can announce is Armani Calamari!" Armani looks shocked but quickly recovers and smiles as he shakes everyone's hand. "And the next alternative captain is Alex Parise!" The goalie has a similar reaction to Armani "now we will be putting the new patches on by the next practice. We have a lot of work to do this season but I do see us improving as the season goes on. Can't wait to see what you guys do this season!" "Man we have a team that can be so good soon you two " Ben smiles at Armani and Alex "but it's gonna be a process. I do think coach made a good decision and I do think you will be great alternative captains. Hell I think you two can end up being main captains somewhere!" "Thanks man" Armani says "means a lot coming from you. Now come on we got some more practice to do" We cut to a few games into the season and the Lynx are celebrating a good shootout win over the Minnesota Storm. Armani had also achieved a big milestone and had gotten his first VHLM goal and 2 assists. "Hey man that was a clutch performance there" Ben smiles in between drinks of water "getting your first goal is always memorable and I am glad to see you get it" "Man I am so excited" Armani cheers "that is one thing I can cross off the old bucket list" the coach then settles down the team and prepares his post game speech "This was an amazing game from us" the coach smiles "we did not give up and we played our hearts out. I believe the game puck however should go to our center Armani Calamari for his first ever goal in this league! Congratulations!" The team cheers as Armani grabs the puck and puts it into his travel backpack "we still have a lot of work to do so let's not let up. I am very proud of all of you today" "I am just glad to see us play so well against one of the better teams in the league" Alex says "we could defend better though I think we need to definitely work on that" "Noted Alex we will focus on that in practice. But for now just go rest because you have all earned it!" They all get up to go back to the hotel in high spirits.
  12. 1.Not 100% sure but maybe defending could be improved on. 2. So far Armani is performing beyond my expectations 3. I do not watch the NHL enough to give a valid opinion 4. Usually some kind of chicken 5. I have not watched the Olympics but go USA! 6. I usually love BBQ sauce. Other then that I am not a big condiments guy
  13. From the Ottawa Sports Newspaper: New Ottawa center Armani Calamari seems to have improved a lot from his days in Philadelphia. He has already gotten three assists in the start of the VHLM season and just seems to be overall a much more confident player. The man himself had this to say: "It is definitely a learning process for both of my VHLM seasons. I learned what I could from my time in Philadelphia first and now being in Ottawa has definitely helped me improve more. I think the main thing that has helped my confidence was me being named alternative captain because they definitely seems to have a lot of confidence in me going forward. It will still take a long time for all of us to get to our potential but we are definitely ready to do our best to impress." Ottawa latest game was an overtime loss to one of the best teams in the league so that does show that they are improving. It might be a middle of the pack season for them but the improvements will definitely be there as they work on getting better. The fans definitely seem to be interested in this young team so we will see what happens going forward. Good luck Lynx!
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. +10 Armani Calamari
  16. Excited to be an Alternative Captain!

  17. Go lynx!
  18. It will soon be time for another VHL season and Armani Calamari has been working his butt off to improve for his new team at Ottawa. He has had to adjust to the city that he had never lived in or visited before but is now working on a few things in practice. His skating and faceoffs have improved over the offseason and he seems to be taking the right steps towards becoming a top line center. The man himself has done an interview with a local Ottawa newspaper about what he has been working on: "Yeah Dad has been a good help when it comes to getting me to improve and I do feel the difference. Ottawa is a place I will have to get used to in the meantime, but the people seem extremely passionate and I like them already for it. Many people here have already come up to me for interviews like this one so I hope I can reward their excitement. Can't say that it does not make me feel a bit nervous however but then again a lot of things can make people nervous and it is normal." Armani will be making his debut in Ottawa soon enough and we at Canada Sports wish him the best of luck in his new city.
