  3. was not meant as a critique, more of an observation... it is a bit of a trademark... no-one would have gone to Picasso saying: 'you need to stop this sideways faces, it is overused'.
  4. On an other note I like the industrial look (for the lack of a better word) of the font (it looks like something written on a shipping crate) as well as the 'pixely', 'gritty' look overall and you certainly like your cityscapes, fo'sho...
  5. of course there is an AC/DC intro... love it I mean the podcast was entertaining as well, but after that intro I could not not listen to it...

  7. Graphic courtesy of Leandrofg (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) This time around we only have one game for your reading pleasure. 8-1 And when we say 'reading pleasure' we actually mean torture, as the Phantoms went to town and blasted the Wranglers in unanimous 8-1 win. One could say the derphorses were taken to the glue factory, it was that bad. The Czech forwards had a field day with the Albertan defence and scored at will. Actually, we were surprised that Blazevicius did not do a Roy and quit midway into the game, as Ricer refused to relieve his unenviable netminder. Johnson saved at least some of the Wranglers' dignity when he scored five minutes into the game when his team was already 2-0 down, and hence denied Davis the shutout. On one hand we would like to spread a cover of silence over this shambles, but on the other hand we feel it is our journalistic duty, to truthfully report the news in its full glory. It needs to be said that the shot statistics speaks a slightly less brutal language than the score board with 46-31 shots in favour of Prague. However, Calgary did not have puck luck nor the bounces and were skinned alive by a very efficient (and sometimes lucky) Czech team. It will surprise none of our knowledgable readers that all the places of honour were occupied by Phantoms, namely Kaprizov (2g/2a), Bob (3g/0a) and Asher Reinhart (0g/5a). Davis with his .968 did not even make the shortlist, despite an all star worthy performance and a clear knock out win against his opposite number Blazevicius (.826). The power play was once more inadequate (0/2) and the box play not much better (4/6). However, we deem that in this case, this was not decisive to the outcome of the match. Daniel was noted with 0g, 0a, -4, 2 PIM (Hooking, no goal against), 3 hits, 4sb and 48.78 FO% The Jansers' stats so far in this season are as follows: Marcel: 16gp, 3g, 7a, 10pts, +6, 34 PIM, 29 hits, 17sb, 2gwg, 2ppg Daniel: 16gp, 5g, 2a, 7pts, -4, 15 PIM, 30 hits, 18sb, 1gwg, 2ppg and 58.19 FO% Stay tuned for further updates. https://vhlforum.com/topic/120289-a-tale-of-two-brothers-regular-season-again-at-long-last-part-one/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120291-a-tale-of-two-brothers-regular-season-again-at-long-last-part-two/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120317-a-tale-of-two-brothers-trudging-on/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120397-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-saga-continues/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120432-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-emperors-new-clothes/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120456-a-tale-of-two-brothers-onwards-always-onwards/ GM 125: Prague Phantoms vs. Calgary Wranglers (vhlportal.com)
  8. Yeah I thought Finland with their many NHL players and France with that big market... but apparently I forgot about Juan Ceson's Andorra, so the poor guy does not have to sell his body in order to finance his gambling addiction he picked up in Vegas ailing grandmother....
  9. Why have two Swedish teams in the VHLE in the first place. Why not Finland? or France?

  11. Graphic courtesy of Leandrof (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) Please find below our summaries of the most recent games of our intrepid Hockey exports. 6-5 (OT) Vasteras was clashing with the Geneva Rush in a hardfought overtime win for the Swiss. In the first period, the teams took turns in scoring, with Vasteras' Young opening the proceedings. Retoslav contributed another goal for a 2-2 tie. In the second period it looked like it was the Eagles' game to lose, as the scored to consecutive goals by Bridgers. However, the Rush was not dead yet, and came back with a vengeance and three unanswered goals, before Gonçalves tied the game with 1:16 minutes to spare. So the sudden death had to declare a winner in this exciting match (a nightmare for managers and netminders alike). Future Wranglers player Chicoine delivered the Coup de Grace after 3:48 minutes played in OT. The three stars were awarded to Bridgers (2g/1a), Quill (1g/2a) and Chicoine (2g/0a). Both goals did not experience much support from their skater, and we are sure some choice words were exchanged in that respect. Wilson (.907) had the edge over Gaming (.842), due to the fact that he was peppered even more with shots than his opposite number (54 vs 38). Vasteras' power play was decent (1/4) and so was the penalty kill (3/4). Marcel was credited with 0g, 1a, -1, 2 PIM (Tripping, lead to a goal against), 2 hits and 1sb. 2-1 (OT) In the Swedish derby the connoisseurs of Nordic defence play were served a treat as this match ended in a 2-1 OT win for the Eagles. It was not before late in the second period before Chang broke the deadlock. Stockholm only reacted with a nine minute delay to tie the game in the third. Since no further goals were scored in regulation, it was again time for the speedy Grim Reaper. It took Gonçalves less than two minutes to deliver the bad news to the Vikings. Gaming (20 saves), Gonçalves (1g/0a) and Young (0g/2a) were named the three stars of the night. In a clash of titans, Gaming (.952) had the upper hand over Parise (.931). Few penalties were taken from either side, so the special teams had not many opportunities to distinguish themselves. Vasteras' power play was lacking (0/2) and the penalty kill allowed nothing (1/1). Marcel had 0g, 0a, +1, 3 hits and 1sb to his name. 3-2 (SO) In a meeting of the underdogs of their respective conference, the Phantoms could snatch victory from the Wranglers in a very tight match. The first period was a 1-1 tie, with Johnson scoring for Calgary. GoodBrandSun brought the Wranglers in front in the second period with the only goal scored in between the intermissions. However, the Phantoms managed to equalize the score in the third and took the game to a scoreless OT. So, once more the teams had to throw a dice bring forward the players with nerves of steel and hands of a surgeon. To much of the Calgary fanbase' surprise, Janser was amongst the chosen ones. Not only that, but he converted his penalty with a coldblooded routine normally only witnessed with more experienced players. It is evident that the young Swiss has honed his one-on-one skills in the offseason. Unfortunately, he was the only Wrangler who bested Davis in Prag's net, and so the win went to the Phantoms. The three stars went to Dahl (41 saves), Creed (0g/1a) and GoodBrandSun (1g/0a). Dahl (.953) kept his team in the fight with a stellar performance and outshone Davis (.938). Calgary's power play was okay with 1/4, and the box play (2/2) was once more top notch. Daniel was noted with 0g, 0a, -1, 5 PIM (Fighting, no power play), 4 hits, 2sb and 51.52 FO%. 3-1 Back in North America, Calgary faced the Dragons from DC in a 3-1 win for the Canadian team. Janser scored in the first period for the Wranglers. Daniel wins the face-off in his own end and passes the puck to Lazeski, who carries the biscuit to DC's zone, to give it back to Janser. The Swiss one-times it but Miles Johnson sacrifices his body to block the shot. Janser reacts fastes and picks up the puck without breaking stride and buries it on a wrap-around attempt. In the second period, no goals were scored. In the third, the Rotkreuz native scores on the power play. The Calgary defence digs out the puck in the corner and relays it to Janser, who deftly carries the biscuit into the Dragons' lair. He then passes to Johnson, who blasts it an inch wide of the net, but the puck comes off the boards to the opposite side of the crease and Daniel is there to poach a goal. Late in the third, the Dragons pull their netminder, but Daniel wins the face off in his own yard and plays tic-tac-toe with Lazeski, until the latter sees a gap and launches a counter attack which ends in him finding the wire to score an empty netter. Janser (2g/1a), Dahl (53 saves) and Lazeski (1g/1a) were given the post-match honours. It is easy to see, why Janser was given the first star, but a case could be made that Calgary had no business to win this game and that it was only due to the rookie in net, that the Wranglers even stood a chance to compete in this game. Alas, the fans already dubbed Daniel 'St. George' now, for obvious reasons. As mentioned, Dahl (.981) saved the Wranglers' bacon more than once in this game and bested his opposite number Utonium (.929) who showed no mean performance of their own. Calgary's power play was good (1/3) and their penalty kill unit was relentless (3/3). Daniel had 2g, 1a, +2, 3 hits, 2sb and 67.57 FO% to his name. 1-3 Consistency (or rather lack thereof) is the name of the game for Calgary's season thus far. After the spectacular win against DC, the Wranglers lost to Chicago in a 3-1 match. The Phoenix went ahead in the first period with 2-0. In the second, they enhanced the lead by one with the sole goal of the period. Kotkakoivu gave Calgary a breath of second wind, but it was too little, too late and the Wranglers had to concede the match. The three stars went to Waffles (1g/1a), Swedish rookie BoJo (0g/3a) and van Giersbergen (36 saves). Dahl had no mean game with .909 saving rate, but was no match for van Giersbergen (.973). The Wranglers were not able to convert on the one power play opportunity they had and the penalty kill was a little sub-par (2/3). Daniel logged 0g, 0a, -1, 2 PIM (Hooking, no effect on the score) 2 hits and 51.61 FO%. The Jansers' stats for the season as of now: Marcel: 16gp, 3g, 7a, 10pts, +6, 34 PIM, 29 hits, 17sb, 2gwg, 2ppg Daniel: 15gp, 5g, 2a, 7pts, +0, 13 PIM, 27 hits, 14sb, 1gwg, 2ppg, 59.24 FO% We will revert in due course with updates on the Swiss Hitmen's careers. https://vhlforum.com/topic/119035-s82-calgary-wranglers-team-awards/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120090-s83-calgary-wranglers-captaincy-announcement/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120289-a-tale-of-two-brothers-regular-season-again-at-long-last-part-one/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120291-a-tale-of-two-brothers-regular-season-again-at-long-last-part-two/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120317-a-tale-of-two-brothers-trudging-on/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120397-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-saga-continues/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120432-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-emperors-new-clothes/ GM 59: Geneva Rush vs. Vasteras Iron Eagles (vhlportal.com) GM 64: Vasteras Iron Eagles vs. Stockholm Vikings (vhlportal.com) GM 103: Prague Phantoms vs. Calgary Wranglers (vhlportal.com) GM 109: Calgary Wranglers vs. D.C. 12. is this not normal PT etiquette anyway? I constantly do check whether someone else is more in need to the seat that I am occupying...
  13. Graphic courtesy of Leandrofg (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) As the VHLE had some catching up to do, we will lose no more time and delve into the summaries right away. 3-1 In our first featured match we see the Eagles taking two points from the Italian team in a 3-1 win. Gonçalves on even strength and Retoslav with one of his rare goals scored on the power play to give the Swedes a 2-0 lead before the first break. The second period was a 1-1 tie with Bridgers finding the back of the net for Vasteras. The three stars were awarded to Bridgers (1g/1a), Gonçalves (1g/1a) and Gaming (23 saves). The latter also decided the duel between the pipes with a whopping .958 save rate against Freeze's not really bad .912. The Eagles' power play was sub-par (1/5) and their penalty kill flawless (2/2). Marcel in a not so rare fit of mischief wrote 'Romani ite domum' on the away team lockerroom door. Clearly, the young Janser is a man of culture and knows his Monty Python. Marcel had 0g, 1a, +2, 2 PIM (Roughing), 5 hits and 4sb to show for his efforts (and a dressing down from @Dil for vandalizing the lockerroom door) . 1-2 The second match was against the Western neighbours of Vasteras the Oslo Storm and ended in a 2-1 win for the Swedish fraction. While match was entertaining for the whole length, people stuck in the traffic and arriving late did not get their ticket prize worth of goals to ogle at, since all goals were scored within the first ten minutes. Gonçalves and Janser with the game winner were deciding the match in Vasteras' favour. Gonçalves (1g/1a), Kennedy (42 saves) and Gaming (22 saves) were given the places of honour post-match. Kennedy (.955) saw eye to eye with Gaming (.957) with a teeny-weeny edge for the latter. The Eagles made their lives unnecessarily difficult with a lackadaisical performance in power play (0/5) and a negligent defence when playing one man down (2/3). Marcel was noted with 1g, 0a, +2, 2 PIM (Goalie Interference, lead to the goal against), 2 hits and 1sb. 5-3 The third encounter was against Geneva who decided this season to stop being a pushover and to actually compete, as they won the game 5-3. The Eagles took an early lead when Bridgers and Snakehole gave them a 2-0 lead going into the second period with two power play goals. Geneva came back with three consecutive goals of their own,two of which were scored in power play. Snakehole was able to tie the game early in the third, but Escobar midway through the period put the Rush ahead again. It was also him who scored on the abandoned net with fifty seconds left on the clock to put a nail in the coffin. The three stars were given to Escobar (2g/1a), Chicoine (1g/2a) and Snakehole (2g/1a). Gaming (.857) had one of his weaker games and had to hand the crown to Wilson (.929). Vasteras had a strong power play (2/5) the impact of which was somewhat nerfed by their rather mediocre penalty kill (3/5). Marcel left the ice with a 0g, 2a, -3, 2 PIM (Hooking, penalty killed) and 1 hit record. 4-0 In a perfect display of defensive skills, the Eagles sent the Storm home with a 4-0 loss. The Swedes went in front in the first period when Mathias scored after 31 seconds into the game. Retoslav scored the only goal in the second period during a power play. Bridgers and Snakehole (again on a man advantage) sealed the deal in Vasteras' favour. Gaming (25 saves), Snakehole (1g/1a) and Mathias (1g/0a) were given the coveted distinction for the three stars. Gaming had the upperhand with his shutout over a not too bad Kennedy (.915) who gave his team hope, until he had no hope left to give. Vasteras' power play was good (2/7) and the box play obviously immaculate (5/5). Marcel logged 0g, 0a, +0, 2 PIM (Cross-Checking, no effect on the score), 2 hits and 1sb. 3-2 Daniel's Wranglers were facing the Toronto Legion in their first match, which ended in a tight loss for the Calgary team. Lazeski put the Albertans in front late in the first period. In the second the Ontarian franchise tied the game with a power play goal. The third period went 2-1 to Toronto. Lazeski found the back of the net in power play on the Wranglers' behalf for the temporary equalizer. Lazeski (2g/0a), Moreau (1g/2a) and Peace (1g/0a) were given the three stars awards. Dahl (.921) kept his team alive but had to bow to Lindbergh's superiority (.933). Calgary's weak power play (1/8) probably cost them the match as the penalty kill did almost everything right (5/6). Daniel had 0g, 0a, -1, 3 hits, 4sb and a 62.86 FO% to his name. 3-0 The Wranglers faced the LA Stars in the second game we are featuring here. The final score was three nil Calgary in a well deserved win. The first period came and went with neither team being able to score. In the second period, Kotkakoivu scored two within less than four minutes, the first of which in power play. Johnson rounded the game off with a goal in the third. The three stars should not come as a surprise, looking at the stats. The Captain leads the charge (2g/0a), flanked by Dahl (15 saves) and Johnson (1g/1a). Dahl had a 'cheap' shutout but a shutout nonetheless and proved to be the master of Tot (.927) in LA's net. The Wranglers' power play was very efficient (1/2) and the box play spotless (4/4). Daniel was noted with 0g, 0a, +0, 2 PIM (Roughing, no effect on the score), 3 hits, 1sb and 68.57 FO%. The Jansers' stats for this season sofar: Marcel: 14gp, 3g, 6a, 9pts, +6, 32 PIM, 24 hits, 15sb, 2gwg, 2ppg Daniel: 12gp, 3g, 1a, 4pts, +0, 6 PIM, 18 hits, 10sb, 0gwg, 1ppg, 59.93 FO% Stay tuned for further updates and anecdotes about our Swiss Hitmen. https://vhlforum.com/topic/118968-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-long-offseason/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/119035-s82-calgary-wranglers-team-awards/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120090-s83-calgary-wranglers-captaincy-announcement/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120289-a-tale-of-two-brothers-regular-season-again-at-long-last-part-one/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120291-a-tale-of-two-brothers-regular-season-again-at-long-last-part-two/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120317-a-tale-of-two-brothers-trudging-on/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/120397-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-saga-continues/ GM 43: Vasteras Iron Eagles vs. Rome Gladiators (vhlportal.com) GM 45: Oslo Storm vs. Vasteras Iron Eagles (vhlportal.com) GM 51: Geneva Rush vs. Vasteras Iron Eagles (vhlportal.com) GM 54: Vasteras Iron Eagles vs. Oslo Storm (vhlportal.com) GM 85: Toronto Legion vs. Calgary Wranglers (vhlportal.com) GM 90: Calgary Wranglers vs. Los Angeles Stars (vhlportal.com)

  15. Yeah I cannot help but feel that a lot of these clicktivists would call the police if they see a 'suspicious' person who 'looks like not belonging here' is seen in their neighbourhood. I do not participate in clicktivism (anymore), as it does not get shit done. But I am too lazy to engage in worthy causes either. What I try to do is to treat every person with respect until they prove me wrong. My dad is a very conservative person, but he has a refreshing attitude when it comes to 'sort' people: He says that there are two kind of people: people who are assholes and people who are not. And black, handicapped lesbians can be as much of an asshole as white straight men. I work in an international company where I meet people from different ethnicities, religions, sexual orientation and sexes. And I do not care too much about all this (or do my best not to). I treat people how I want to be treated and I think this no bad basis to encounter strangers (unless you are masochistic, then you absolutely should not treat people they way you want to be treated).

  19. Swiss Central Gazzette (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) As the season is in full swing, please find the summaries of the latest games with Janser participation. 2-0 The Vasteras met their brethren (though @Shindigs might dispute that part) from Stockholm in an all-Swedish clash of (Vikinghelmet)-Horns. The Iron Eagles sealed the deal in the second period by two goals from Bridgers and Gonçalves, which remained the only goals scored. Both teams put a lot of effort in the defensive side of hockey, demonstrated by the football score in hockey game. The three stars went to Gaming (25 saves), Bridgers (1g/1a) and Gonçalves (1g/1a). Gaming obviously had the upperhand with a shutout against an almost equally good Parise (.947). Vasteras powerplay was a flop (0/5) but their penalty kill made somewhat up for it (1/1). Marcel was recorded with 0g, 0a, +1, 5 PIM (Fighting, no powerplay) and 1sb 3-5 The second game was against Istanbul and ended in a 5-3 win for the Swedish outfit. The first period ended 1-1, with Vladovechsenkchushkin being successful for Vasteras two minutes before the intermission. The second period was also a standoff, this time 2-2. Vasteras' goals were scored by Chang and Snakehole, both in power play. In the third the Eagles delivered the dagger in shape of Young with an other power play goal and Bridgers one minute before the horn. Sakamoto (1g/1a), Chang (1g/1a) and Young (1g/1a). Both netminders had a rather mediocre performance with Gaming (.875) losing against Young (.886). Vasteras' powerplay was good (3/11) and their box play perfect (5/5). Marcel had 0g, 0a, -1, 7 PIM (Fighting, Holding, no effect on the score) and 1sb 3-1 The only game for Calgary in this session was against the perpetual cup favourite Seattle Bears. Calgary's young studs were able to keep the Seattle veterans in check for more than half the game and it took a power play situation for the Bears to get on the score sheet. They followed up in the third with two more goals (again one in power play), before Calgary spoiled Flex' potential shutout by a goal from Kotkakoivu. The three stars went to Chara (1g/2a), Flex (27 saves) and Torq (1g/0a). Both goalkeepers showed allstar-worthy performance with Flex (.964) having the edge over Blazevicius (.921). The Wranglers' special teams were atrocious with the power play once more being inefficient (0/6) and the box play allowing too much to the playoff-tempered Bears (3/5). 20. As long as he plays one more game against the Wranglers, he should be fine ... (I hope not, though)
  21. Welcome @AliceBlack, I am Daniel Janser, the GM of the Mississauga Hounds in the VHLM. @Ente2997 is my AGM. We are a franchise coming from a rebuild and we can offer you a bottom four spot, with the option to go up, depending on development. The Hounds encourage locker room activity and the management and the Alumni are always willing to help to develop your player. We encourage you to build the player as you imagine him to be, but also offer assistance if you are at a loss how to achieve your preferred build. If you want to be part of this rebuild/project and we could attract your interest, please quote this message and add #releasethehounds. We will send you an invitation to our discord channel (this is not mandatory but helps enormously with communication) and a contract which kindly accept in order to join us. Whatever team you decide to join, we wish you best of luck and more importantly lots of fun with Alice Black. Daniel Janser
