  1. Welcome @Tuffski, I am Daniel Janser, the GM of the Mississauga Hounds in the VHLM. @Ente2997 is my AGM. We are a franchise coming from a rebuild and we can offer you a bottom six spot, with the option to go up, depending on development. The Hounds encourage locker room activity and the management and the Alumni are always willing to help to develop your player. We encourage you to build the player as you imagine him to be, but also offer assistance if you are at a loss how to achieve your preferred build. If you want to be part of this rebuild/project and we could attract your interest, please quote this message and add #releasethehounds. We will send you an invitation to our discord channel (this is not mandatory but helps enormously with communication) and a contract which kindly accept in order to join us. Whatever team you decide to join, we wish you best of luck and more importantly lots of fun with Julien Tuffskii. Daniel Janser
  2. Proud and humbled at the same time to be given the coveted 'A' on the uniform. One more reason to give it my all to make this team a success.

  8. I am disappointed that no 7th round pick was involved in the trade...
  9. I am aware and trust the community enough, to not do this. Thanks for pointing out though.
  10. Hounds, We are having the election for our leadership group. Everyone gets three votes to elect their captain. I do not need to tell you that REAL Alphas do not need to vote for themselves ;). The poll is up until Tuesday, 19th April 2022. Choose wisely. IMPORTANT: This also serves as a reminder to those of you, who have not applied their TPE yet. If you need help with the build, please do reach out to me or Ente.
  11. Swiss Central Gazzette Our Canadian correspondent Jean-Luc Lieuxperroux had a chance to talk to Kurt Janser, GM of the Mississauga Hounds after the VHLM dispersal draft. JLL: 'Kurt, you were GM for the Team World in the WCoH. What are your thoughts now, with a little distance to this event?`' KJ: 'The whole team was hyped and we really wanted to go the whole nine yards and believed in ourselves to be able to compete for gold. This confidence was justified by our performance in the round Robin where we practically curbstomped the other teams. Maybe we got too cocky after that and stopped to do the little things right when we lost the semifinal as well as the Bronzegame. Hockey is a fast game on a slippery surface and it does not take much to lose a game which you should win. It is a thin red line between confidence and arrogance, and we may have overstepped the line. Maybe we have used up our puck-luck in the round Robin already. I still believe this team was good enough to win it all, but we need to acknowledge that in the respective games, our opposition was better. I just feel sorry for the players who had their last swing to lay hands on the World Cup.' JLL: 'The Hounds had a lot of picks this offseason. Please talk us through them if you will.' KJ: 'I think we drafted well. We picked Adison Bond with our first pick. I did not think that he would still be available come draft time, but when I saw him on the board, I just could not pass on the opportunity. However, in the meantime, Kaleeb and Adison contacted me and asked me to release Adison to play in the VHLE. As much as I hate to lose a player like Adison, I think it is in his best interest if he can compete on a higher level. So with a heavy heart, but with confidence to do the right thing, we decided to release him and wish him best of luck for his stint with the Red Wolves. With Bryzgalov we got a very solid netminder who will give us a fighting chance every match. Carson Hound was too good to pass on, too. And if we consider that he is Swiss and his name I simply could not NOT draft him. He will be a pillar in our defence core. With Justice we brought in a promising young center who will make his way into the big show sooner rather than later. Finck, Suzuki, Nash and Machine are repeated offenders and we love to bring them back to Mississauga. Clark, Mortis, Cobberson, Kelly, Payne, Smith and Slotter were drafted based on positional needs, some of them will be ready (or are expected to be ready) for the VHLE next season, others will take some more development time. We are happy to have gotten them all and hope they enjoy their time in Mississauga and that we can prepare them for their further career.' JLL: 'Okay, thanks Kurt for your statement, and good luck for the season.' KJ: 'Thanks, take care Jean-Luc.' https://vhlforum.com/topic/118419-kurts-afterthoughts-after-the-wjc/

  13. Congratulations to all the award recipients. Each and everyone of you amply deserved the respective silverware. To all the Wranglers who were sidelined for this award show: You all were elemental for last season's success.
  14. In the same direction as Shindigs comments: If you get the invitation, you are welcome... once I had been drafted to Calgary, I showed up in the Wranglers discord and started flaming @Ricer13 about his beloved Canucks (unfortunately, they sacked the upper echelon and got better so this leg-pulling-source dried up), Discussing with @vat why I hate Rögle and why he hates my club (long story it has to do with the CHL and hiring players of each other)... I had not been muted, to the contrary I got an award for being so intrusive... see here: https://vhlforum.com/topic/115475-calgary-wranglers-season-81-awards/ TLDR: get to know your future team mates asap (even if they are not there anymore once you make the big show, you never know who ends up GM of a franchise you want to desperately be a part of)...
  15. Comedy I could recommend involve Bill Burr and the late great George Carlin... For the same concerns as Shindigs had mentioned I will not directly link them, but I love all their skits as they are refreshingly non-PC.
  16. Grape said to be extra salty in this thread In all seriousness, good summary and I do not even want to consider how much leg work went into it.
  17. "Child will not be called Callum Murray" That is a waste of a once in a lifetime opportunity, if I ever saw one. 1. "Do you think it's going to be a boy or a girl?" Does it matter as long as in Australia everyone ends up a See you next Tuesday? 2. "Who should do an intro to the podcast?" Paul Hogan 3. "Which song should be the intro?" AC/DC - Highway to Hell 4. "SBA Player Name?" Can Burier 5. "EFL Kicker Name?" Rew Bar

  19. Swiss Central Gazzette Since last we reported from our intrepid hockey exports, the training camps have opened and Marcel went back to Vasteras to re-unite with his team mates to get ice-ready for next season. During the inter-season period, Daniel won the ProAM tournament with the Dekes of Hazzard. During the round Robin as well as the medal games, the young Rotkreuz native was a force on the ice, dominating the hash-marks and bring grit to the Dekes' game, while being one of the highest scoring centers in the tournament. He stayed out of the sinbin for the most part and was only out hit by Dabnad Shaw. We also learned from our well informed sources, that the older Janser brother received a hefty bonus for signing his five year, NTC extension with the Wranglers. The unnamed informant colports an amount of two million US Dollars. A further indication how much Daniel is appreciated in Calgary is, that he will wear the coveted 'A' on his chest in his sophomore season. Kotkakoivu will lead the charge in the leadership group and Johnson is complimenting the trio as an alternate captain in his final season. Draft happened as well and the Wranglers were able to secure some important pieces for the future. AirRig GoodBrandSun, a promising two-way defender from Houston, was picked at 5th overall and will be thrown into the deep end of the pool in Calgary's defensive department. With his 6' 5'', 220lbs frame, AG will be an intimidating sight in the Wranglers own zone. The other players picked up in this draft will need a season or two development time in the minors before they are ready to face the battlehardened veterans in the VHL. Leandro Gonçalves, the Portuguese Wonderkind, was locked by the Wranglers at 9th overall. The 6' 5'', 220lbs play-making center will beef up a season in Vasteras, where he will join Marcel Janser. The defensive minded defender is also projected to get a call from Kris Ricer in S84, together with 'Ferragus' Gonçalves. But the Wranglers were not done building for the future, with their third 1st round pick, at 13th overall, they snatched the rights of Landon Wolanin, a rather small (5' 9'') but stocky (169lbs) grinder for the left wing. His defensive mind set and puckhandling skill will be an asset for the Wranglers in the seasons to come. At 26th overall, the Alberta Franchise elected Babushka, an athletic defender a 6' and 215lbs from the freezing plains of Siberia (which should make him immediately feel at home in the plains province he is moving to). This Kalashnikov of a defenceman can play on both ends of the ice, but still needs some development, so S85 is more realistic than S84 for his VHL debut, but maybe this ambitious young player will surprise everyone with a leap in his performance, as he has proven in San Diego already, that they are capable of scoring above a point per game. Sam Azjha was chosen at 31st overall. This Canadian raised center does not stand out physically at 5' 8'' tall, but has already a considerable amount of muscle on their frame (195lbs). With this low center of gravity it will be difficult to knock them of the puck. They re-signed with Halifax where they already spent the last full season. Last but not least, the Wranglers elected at 50th overall Ty Heisler, a defender who also re-signed with his last season's franchise, the Mississauga Hounds. The 5' 10'', 160lbs Canadian allround defender needs another season or two in the minors to reach the level it takes to compete in the big show. The Wranglers could also secure the services of James GloveDropper in the FA market and he will compliment the otherwise center-heavy front row on the right wing. He is coming fresh from Stockholm where he scored 166 points in 144 games. We will revert with updates on the brothers as soon as same are available. https://vhlforum.com/topic/116462-a-tale-of-two-brothers-quick-wrap-up/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/117076-a-tale-of-two-brothers-playoffs-in-sight/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/117330-a-tale-of-two-brothers-mixed-results/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/117475-a-tale-of-two-brothers-jekyll-and-hyde/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/117857-a-tale-of-two-brothers-off-season-once-more/ VIctory ProAM - Individual Leaders Pro (sths.ca) https://vhlforum.com/topic/118435-a-tale-of-two-brothers-almost-all-quiet-in-the-west/
