  1. 1. I am hoping that I can score some goals in the VHLE, maybe lead Cologne to the playoffs and impress Riga enough to give me a shot next season. 2. Well, I am one of those rookies, so scrolling up to the first post I see and responding to that, "score more please, just shoot the puck", I can surely do that sir :). 3. Well, if they are purposely making their player worse, it will give an advantage to everyone else around them, right? So I don't think there should be a new rule. Maybe the GM automatically gets their player in exchange for like a 2nd round pick? IDK 4. I am holding out hope that Riga makes the playoffs. I think the biggest difference will be our younger players stepping up. 5. Owen Power for sure, he's a stud. 6. Rams gonna take it down in their home stadium. Burrow's time will come eventually.

  7. Reviewing: Oh here we go, another Florida Man article. Although to my extreme surprise, this was an actual VHL article about a player named Florida Man. Didn't expect that one. He was drafted 42nd overall to Stockholm, which makes me think that this was a huge steal because of how well written this article was. Of course, he was the all around stats leader for Stockholm last year, which is something I did not know. You better find that cup, Florida Man! 9.9/10
  8. Reviewing: Holy hell, what a piece of writing! I put myself in Sakamoto's body while I was reading this and I really felt like I was there. Congrats on getting drafted as well, it really is a rush of emotion as I was drafted last year at the back end of the draft because I was a late joiner so I didn't really get the full experience. This helps make up for that though with this amazing piece of writing. 10/10 would give it an 11 if I could.
  9. Just a quick update from the world of Obi Adesanya, he was drafted in the VHLE Draft and the VHL Draft over the past few days, going to the Cologne Express of the VHLE and the Riga Reign of the VHL. He was the 16th overall selection for the Express, going much higher than he was expecting. He will start his professional career with the Express until his skills get to a level where he is able to compete in the big leagues. As for the VHL, Riga selected Obi in the 2nd round with the 22nd overall pick. Obi was very excited to learn of his selection to Riga, as he should be able to contribute early on. They were a middle of the pack team last season and are currently getting younger in search of another run at the cup in a few seasons. Obi will make the move to Cologne over the next few days to get acclimated to the VHLE lifestyle.
  10. 1. Obi has been adjusting to his new home in Cologne and hoping to make the move up to Riga at some point in the near future. 2. They drafted me so of course they're getting an A plus grade! 3. Other than about 4-5 inches a few weeks ago there has only been a few dustings. Just been really cold lately here in the midwest. 4. Now that I have a kid I don't get to work out as much as I used to so I am strictly shoveling. 5. I have not played in the VHLE yet so I will have to defer my opinions until after the season starts. 6. Get better soon @hedgehog337 being sick sucks make sure to find time to get some rest.

  14. 1. What did you think about the past VHLM season? 2. What are your visions for the development of your player? 3. What team do you think will surprise people in the VHL next season? 4. How many trades do you think will happen in the VHL draft? 5. Is there a specific player you think is underrated and will perform better than expected next season? 6. What do you feel is the most important attribute for a goaltender?
  15. I thought I'd take this VHL.com medium to talk a little bit about the upcoming draft and the teams I am looking at possibly getting drafted by. While I have no idea exactly how it will shake out, I have a pretty decent idea of where I will be going. Let's dive in: 22 overall: Riga Reign I've been getting some good vibes about Riga. I think this might be a little early for someone to take a chance on me, but I believe in myself, so I will be ambitious. 23 overall: Toronto Legion I could really see Toronto taking me with this pick. We would be a solid fit and I could sit in the minors for a bit and develop. 28 overall: Chicago Phoenix This is where I really think I'm going to end up, if the rest of the league is dumb enough to let me slide this far. Obi loves Chicago and he could be producer almost immediately. While I do think I have the talent to be drafted in the early 2nd round, this seems like the right spot if I were to bet on it.
  16. Reviewing: I like your thoughts about this off-season, I was kind of thinking the same thing too about the reviewing. I mean, it's really not that hard to get to the 75 word minimum, but at least I know about it unlike some of the newer guys who may not have gotten the memo. It is nice to know that there is a standard though and now I can ramble on a bit to make sure I hit my 75 words. It may get a little tedious though, which could mean less people want to do it, which also means more points for me! 10/10
  17. Reviewing: Wow, this is gold! I loved the breakdowns of each player, it really saved me a lot of time going through research trying to see where I might be drafted at. I think 28th overall to Chicago sounds about right. As for the write-up about my player, I think that is pretty accurate. I would love to play in Chicago as well, so this would be a great fit. Interesting story about Vasile Lamb, too. It will be exciting to see how things shake out at the top of the draft. Great job all-around on this piece! 10/10
  18. reviewing: While I do agree with the 5 elements to offense that you stated here, I would like to add that there is one more that you may have forgotten about: defense. Why, you ask? Well often times great defense can turn into a great scoring opportunity, especially stepping in front of a pass and taking it the other way for a breakaway. Other than that, great article, especially the hockey IQ breakdown. 10/10
  19. reviewing: me and you are a lot alike right now, in terms of waiting for the draft. It was nice to get a look inside your players skills and what you're looking to build on heading into the draft. If you get drafted on the same team as me, I hope you decide to want to pass first, because I will need people to pass me the puck to show off my scoring skills. 10/10
  20. Well it was a very disappointing ending to the season for the Houston Bulls, as they couldn't advance past the first round on the VHLM playoffs. Many expected the Bulls to run the table and be right there with Ottawa at the end, but it didn't turn out that way. There were a lot of close games, but ultimately the Philadelphia Reapers ended up taking them down in six games. Obi Adesanya really didn't do anything the whole series, and he was only counted on for 10:36 in ice time in game six. I wish there was an average minutes played per game stat, because that would be nice to see for the playoffs so I didn't have to go back through every single game. Ashton Komaryk was the Bulls' MVP of the playoffs, recording 7 points in 6 games and manning the top line winger spot going up against the best of the best. Next up will be the VHL Draft, which I hope I am selected in.
  21. 1. I felt like I probably should have played more down the stretch, but it's not a big deal. I enjoyed my time in Houston. Not sure if I get to continue to play here next season or what happens after the VHL draft. 2. I really don't have a preference. Hopefully someone who can take advantage of my scoring skills. 3. I am confident I'll be selected high. 4. I just want to be a solid contributor on a big league club. 5. I hope Moscow wins it. I heard Malmo was pretty good so would be nice to see an upset. 6. Let's go Bengals this year. My team didn't make the playoffs so would be cool to see them make a run.
  22. 1. I think it has to be defense. Everyone nowadays is just worried about scoring. 2. The Obi Adesanya Award 3. Obi Adesanya 4. Probably Charlie 5. I like Thanksgiving, Obi loves to eat. 6. I think a team in Green Bay would be interesting.
  23. Reviewing: it was nice to get a look into the life of Armani Calamari off the ice, we always hear so much about these guys on the ice that we don't really think about these life moments. Congrats on the sex! 10/10
  24. reviewing: The playoffs are unpredictable, anything can happen at this stage and your article sums that up perfectly. What a crazy game 2, your article gave a lot of insight into how crazy it actually was, with an even-strength score of 6-1 but losing 7-6. I am excited to see what happens in the rest of this series. 10/10
  25. It's playoff time! The Houston Bulls have the Philadelphia Reapers in round one, which should have been an easy series win. Not so fast, it is off to a 1-1 start with both games going to overtime, Reapers getting the win in game 1 in a thrilling double overtime 5-4 win. Obi Adesanya had his first career playoff goal in the first period, putting Houston up 2-0 and seemingly in control of the game. The Reapers would quickly answer to make it 2-2, with the third period ending 3-3. Houston would then have to tie the game late, eventually losing on double OT goal by Jarno Lappi. In game 2, the Bulls had a lot more luck with the game going to overtime again, but the Bulls put it away early, just 1 minute into the frame. Houston outshot Philadelphia 48-21 in the game, which bodes well for their chances for the rest of the series. Maybe Obi Adesanya will get some more playing time to show off his 88 scoring attribute? Probably not, but oh well.
