  1. It was quite the interesting Christmas break for Obi Adesanya. There was no hockey to be played and South Africa is basically off-limits at this point due to Covid restrictions so he couldn't go back home. Obi was alone and since he is only 19 years old, he couldn't go out to the bars with his teammates. He basically sat in his hotel room for the first day of break just swiping on Tinder and other dating apps, trying to find a girl that would come keep him company. He did not find much luck in the dating game, only finding one "girl" who wanted to know if he was into "chocolate rain". Obi wasn't quite sure what that meant, so he took a pass. After wracking his brain on what to do with day two of Christmas break, Obi got a brilliant idea. "Why don't I just try to get into the bars with a fake ID?" Obviously Obi had never seen the American classic, SuperBad, thus he couldn't have had an idea how crazy this night could end up. Obi was initially given some push back by his teammates, but fellow Bulls left winger, Charlie, told the rest of the guys to lighten up. How hard could it be to get someone with the stature of Adesanya into a Houston establishment with a bunch of other celebrity Bulls? They could call ahead and ask for a VIP entrance and a seating area away from anyone who would know that Obi was there, and he could just chill while the others went to the bar and got drinks and partied. Seems like a great idea, right? Obi had never had a sip of alcohol before, so he was planning to just get a Mountain Dew and hang out and watch college football all night. The Houston area and Texas in general is a huge football state, so Obi thought he might as well get familiar with the game that most Americans generally understand. Obi was watching the UCF vs. Florida game, and he had heard on the pre-game show that Florida was the best school in Florida and that it was a privilege for UCF to just be selected to be in that bowl game. Charlie noticed that Obi was watching the game, so Charlie asked if he wanted to put a bet on the game. Charlie didn't really know much about football either, so gave Obi the chance to pick which team would win. Of course, Obi took Florida. The bet? The loser had to take 3 shots of the winner's choosing. The result? Obi ended up having to be dragged back to his hotel room by several members of the Bulls after the Gators imploded and lost to the Knights, 29-17. Obi had to take 3 shots of Malort, which could be the worse alcoholic drink every created. Obi woke up the next morning with an enormous hangover, the likes of which he had never experienced before, which made it that much worse. Obi was not able to do any training for the rest of the week, but ended up gaining much needed camaraderie with his teammates, who still won't let him live the night down.
  2. It's been a crazy week or so for Obi Adesanya, as he was not able to get in as much training last week as he would have liked to. He was only able to put in 4 hours of work instead of the normal 6 hours. We asked him what happened, and Obi was very reluctant to speak on this matter. Could it have been because of the holidays? Possibly. Could it have been because he is not playing as much as he hoped he would early in his career? Also a possibility. Is he going to do everything he can to make sure that doesn't happen again? You bet your ass he will. Obi doesn't care about anyone but himself, and the holidays really make him think about other people, so it probably pissed him off to the point where he just didn't want to train in spite of the world. We can't really blame him, the Covid holidays suck ass. Hopefully we will be back to normal next year, but probably not.
  3. Reviewing: I saw the title of this article and had to see what was up. See More Butts? Yes, of course I'm reviewing this one. It was a humorous piece, really giving a close look into the training methods of your player. Jarrod, Devon, and Marcus all seem like they will be great roommates. I still don't know what your player's name is after reviewing this article though, which will bump it down one for me. 9/10
  4. Reviewing: I definitely liked this piece because the Bulls were ranked 2nd. I think this is a fair rating for them. I liked the breakdown of all of the teams, even though talking about the mid-low tier teams was tough, you did well in explaining the circumstances of each. I haven't kept up on the bottom tier teams much this season so reading about them helped shed some light on how dominant the top teams are. 10/10
  5. 1. Wasn't that the multi? If so, it's actually pretty impressive that he was able to keep up with that many players. 2. I suck, but I'm a 3rd liner playing on a great team averaging like 6 mins per game so it's whatevs. 3. Probably Higher by Creed 4. A new sweatshirt, pair of shoes, and some cash. Christmas is overrrated. 5. I still have to figure that out. 6. I have not, although I did see some games got canceled cause of Covid. Doesn't surprise me.
  6. Obi Adesanya has been displeased with his performance so far this season in the VHLM. He is a rookie, but he feels like he has been putting in enough time in the gym to see the results translate to the ice. Obi is already at 157 TPE with more on the way and has boosted his scoring into the mid-80's, which should be producing much more shots and goals than it has so far. Obi has 13 goals and 16 assists, playing around 7-10 minutes per game and recording 103 shots in 60 games. For how much he has been playing, this isn't a bad stat line, as slightly over 2 shots per game with only probably about 10 shifts per game is actually a good ratio. I think Obi just needs to see more ice time to be able to show his skills. Hopefully his time will come in season 83 when some of the better VHLM players graduate to the VHL.
  7. reviewing: Holy shit it's a Japanese hockey player, nice! You don't see those every day. Sorry you have to play in Halifax, you should come to Houston where it's warm. Hopefully you recover from your knee injury, I like that you are incorporating fake injuries into the storyline for your player, I like the role playing style of the article! It was well written and I wish you luck the rest of the season! 10/10
  8. reviewing: this was a solid read, got a taste of your career so far and how you got to where you are now. It seems like your path is well on it's way to a hall of fame level. There wasn't many grammar mistakes I could see and hopefully your GM'ing experience goes well! 10/10
  9. 1. Probably offense, we are always scoring a ton of goals. Weakness is defense, we are always giving up a lot of goals. 2. I boosted my scoring and defense. 3. Yes they are very good. 4. I hate it 5. spending time with family 6. I’m too old for gifts

  11. Obi Adesanya In-Season Interview: Q: How are you feeling about the team's performance so far this season? I couldn't ask for a better start from our guys. With so many new faces, I figured it would probably take a little while for us to mesh together, but it almost seems like we've been playing with each other our whole lives. We are tied for first in the division right now and we are only going to improve as the season goes on. Q: Are you bummed that you are playing on the right wing, when you are a natural left winger? Honestly I could use the experience on the right side. I have played left my whole career so far, albeit a junior career, so I think it's time to learn how to play on the right. It really isn't too much of a difference, I don't get as many chances in the middle of the ice, but my hand eye coordination has gotten a lot better getting tip-in chances on the far side of the net. I really think over the course of my career it will help my game. Q: Do you think your personal performance has been up to your standards so far this season? I can always improve my game, like I said before I need experience in all kinds of different situations so even if the points aren't coming right now, I know I am working my way towards that by becoming more of a complete player. We have so many studs on this team that I don't really need to take over a game and score a hat trick every time out. I know I have the capability to do so, but that's not what is being asked of me right now so I am not too worried about it. I think that question would be better asked to the coaching staff, honestly I would like to know their answer too. Q: Are there any professional teams you could see yourself playing for when you enter the VHL Draft next season? I will be happy playing with whoever drafts me. I don't have any preferences at this point, and the only thing I ask is that whoever drafts me gives me a fair shot to compete for playing time. I know I have the ability and the potential to become a first line winger in this league and put up 50+ goals every season. I just need the opportunity to do so. Q: If you absolutely had to choose a VHL team to play for, who would it be? If I had to choose, it would be pretty sweet to go to Chicago and play for the Phoenix. I know they are down on their luck this year, but I've always had a dream of playing for a Chicago franchise since my favorite NHL team is the Chicago Blackhawks. Q: How about if you had to chose a European team? Definitely Warsaw. I think the Warsaw Predators is a badass team. I do hate the Nashville Predators, but the Warsaw Predators just rolls off the tongue. Playing in Poland would be awesome too, I've never been to Poland but it seems like a great time and I think I would fit in very well with the people there.
  12. Reviewing: Holy shit man, this had to have taken forever to write. I just joined the VHL for the first time in a while and I feel like I'm 100% caught up with the career of Wesley Kellinger. What a great piece all around, you covered each Hall of Fame season in detail and explained what happened in basically the whole season in a paragraph each, which is not easy to do. Thanks for giving me an idea about what to write about after I join you in the Hall of Fame! 10/10
  13. Reviewing: Not a bad ranking for the VHLM, a lot of thought was put into this piece and you went through each team individually and made a thorough evaluation of each team. I especially liked the Houston write up, but I am slightly biased and think they should have been at number one, but Ottawa is clearing deserving as they have a dominant team early on. I liked the conclusion as well because I thought some of the numbers were old but hey it was a long article and you gotta get that word count! 10/10
  14. I thought for my VHL.com piece this week I'd fill everyone in on what my vision for Obi Adesanya's build is. I am hoping to save some points on skating and get Obi's scoring and defense to a very high level relatively quickly. I am hoping this allows him to get more shots off and hopefully turn it into more goals. I understand that skating is a big part of the sim, but it seems like it can be a slight detriment to a pure scoring forward as holding the puck longer does not translate into more shots. I could be wrong on this, but I want to see how it goes while I am in the VHLM so I can make corrections as Obi progresses into the majors. I think pumping defense to a very high level as well will help the team as well as create more scoring chances. My puck handling skill will also be considerably higher than my skating skill, as puck handling does not factor into the decision making process and slightly helps with tips in front of the net. 185 words
