Not really, going to be focusing on IRL stuff more for a bit.

I mean they are great if you have a purpose for them. Like this draft I lost a lot of sleep over not having a 1st and needing a goalie. It all worked out in the end, but if I had a 1st it would have guaranteed worked out. Just not *my* 1st, since that was 10 OA which is just a 2nd round pick in a fancy hat.

With me having announced at the start of this season that this would be my last at the helm of Vegas. I've just done my last trade, another oh-so-exciting pick trade. As is the norm with me. I'd like to thank Jacob for pulling the trigger on that trade now. He originally wanted to hold off until draft day and see if he still liked it at that time. But since I'll have stepped down by then, he was okay with doing the trade now. Which was much appreciated, as I really wanted to leave the next Vegas GM with enough picks in the S86 draft to be able to build at least the bare minimum of a competing roster around the players we will retain from this season. While also being in compliance with the new draft pick rules coming into play in S87. Over my tenure of 3 season in Vegas I've made, I'm not sure like a half dozen trades or so? Maybe slightly more, and there's only ever been two players involved. This is pretty standard for me and comes in part from me always building through the draft in EHM and banning myself from ever trading for players/player rights there as part of the various challenge saves I'd do there. I just like a homegrown team, feels like something I built. Rather than something I bought. I've also traded away every single 1st round pick I've had (apart from the 2 I inherited from Mubbles in the 1st season). So it seems fitting that my last trade is me trading away another 1st with no players involved. All things considered. Hopefully whoever takes over after me, be it Reid or someone else. Will do as well with scouting and make the best use of those extra 2nd and 3rd round picks. To use one of my favorite quotes, who I can't remember the source of anymore, from the NHL draft. "Good GMs make earn their pay on Friday, but great GMs earn their pay on Saturday". Which if you're confused about what that means, Round 1 of the draft is on Friday, the rest of the draft is on Saturday.

All good, didn't get those vibes at all. After the draft I just had my hands to full with helping my own players, as well as answering DMs from others that I never really got the chance to reach out again. I was planning to at some point, but something else must have gotten in the way. Happy you ended up with cole though, had I known you were available for trade. I'd have come knocking in SSK before he did.

Those are actually pretty rare, since I usually forget.

I actually picked Sigma with the goal of him being a "2 season player". Which is exactly what he's going to be. So he's going to be very valuable to the franchise even after I leave. With that in mind, that pick is working as intended. With us already having Juan Ceson returning, alongside GP+Bobcat as the higher earning dmen, he fit exactly what I wanted for long term stability. As we really didn't *need* another very high earning dman to reach the kind of D core I want in Vegas. Due to our focus on DFD we don't need our dmen to be as high TPE as a team that's more focused on Offensive/Two-Way Dmen. Since Shadow was actually a 7th, not a 6th. AJ wouldn't go for a 5th rounder, it was my original ask. But my main goal with this trade was to give Shadow starting minutes, so I didn't care to try and get absolute max value for them. Kobe's had a lot going on IRL that's meant he hasn't really been earning much yet this season. But he can and will max earn when he's got the motivation to do so. So I see him as being the core piece for Vegas to build around next season on Offense. At some point (usually the 3rd/4th round) you're not really drafting for max power this season, you're drafting the core of next season. In that regard your development has almost been "too good" from a strategical standpoint. But the main goal for me as a GM isn't to have my master plan work out. It's to help guide members to their max potential, which I'm so happy to have seen you risen miles above what anyone in their right mind would have guessed a player named "Wann Kerr" ever would. Edit: Oh an you forgot we got Josh Leblanc on waivers as well.

Only slight issue being that one of them isn't a First Gen. Does that make it a trick question where if you pick Viper you automatically lose the point?

Was a pleasure teaching you, very few members get as into the league as early as you did and take to the advice in the way you have. It's when you get that kind of response that being a VHLM GM really feels worth it. I was just sad we couldn't draft you to Vegas. Though in hindsight with how you ended up earning we would have just ended up with 2 capped goalie in the playoffs (again).
