From a VHLM GM perspective I see the main purpose of trivia as a type of tutorial on how to maneuver the forums/portal/index. That's basically the primary purpose and you get 1 TPE per correct answer for taking the tutorial. As long as you treat it that way and let your players use it to learn, I really don't see the problem. But if a question is simply made in such a way it doesn't actually achieve that purpose. Because it's making you do something so niche and/or tedious that it'll never ever be useful to you. Then yeah, I'll just let them skip that part of the tutorial, because it shouldn't have been there in the first place.

So Vegas had a big week with long time Captain Juan Ceson picking up several franchise records this week, including most franchise games played, most franchise Hits, Highest franchise +/- and probably some others I forget about. In typical Juan Ceson fashion he has demanded that GM Anthony Pratt needs to congratulate him on getting the record after every single game, as he keeps breaking his own record every single game. As much as that's completely silly, EHM does that exact same thing when you have people in record setting seasons. So if it's good enough for SI, then it's good enough for Vegas, I guess? Other than that we've basically filled up our roster now in Vegas, just the 1 dman spot left. And possibly 1 more forward as we have one guy at risk of IA. But other than that we're looking all set for playoffs, with our new waivers all taking to that Welfare+ lifestyle and making their way to the TPE where they can be impact players fast. Especially Edward Traverse @Python_Starbuzz who joined us just before TDL and thus has that high TPE start, has been really good for us straight away. With GP retiring he got fast tracked to the 1st pairing alongside Jens Lekman @Bobcat and the two of them have played amazing hockey together.

So I was planning on making an actual useful MS now that I've run out of of multi-claims on stuff. But I'm still nursing a fever, so I will opt for a pointless stream of consciousness MS instead. You're welcome! The MS I was intending to write, and still will at some point, is about my hypothesis on how goalie attributes work in STHS, what that means for how good they are, as well as tying my conclusions based on that into what historical data actually tells us about some of the most successful VHL goalies of all time. Well, the spoiler is that what I came up with and what the data shows is basically identical. So the way I think stuff works is at least close enough to how it actually works that they have overlapping results. I won't get into the details as my brain is currently happily AFK. But the TL;DR is basically that Skating is garbage and Agility is a lot better than most seem to give it credit for, and that we seemingly overvalue Rebound Control (mostly due to Meta era PTSD). So with that out of the way, what's been going on for me in sim leagues in general this week? Well, Vegas are finally actually in 1st on points rather than being 1st on tie-breaker but still 2nd in the standings, since STHS apparently doesn't understand it's own tie-breakers. Which to be fair, isn't surprising at this point. We now actually sit 2 points ahead of Ottawa with 1 game in hand, as we've been getting our Mississauga games out of the way lately. Our backup currently has 5 shutouts in like 13 starts. It *should* be 6 shutouts, but he did allow 1 goal on 3 shots against Mississauga that one game, which was quite unlucky. But overall, looking like we may very well be top seed for the 3rd season in a row. Remains to be seen how we finish off the season though. In significantly less positive Vegas news, our stud 1C Antoine Barksdale @CrookedAnt announced that he will retire after the VHLM as despite having had a good time with Vegas, he simply can't get into hockey as a sport. Which I totally get that. Regardless he will always be remembered in Vegas as he's been amazing for us this season. Hopefully he can keep up the elite performance in the playoffs too and help lead us to another cup before he hangs up the skates for good. In Chicago news, well it's mostly depression. N0H is having an awful season in net, our forwards are collectively having a pretty awful season. Our S% is awful and even Bo is dropping off lately as our PP% has tanked from like 23% to 16% over the 2nd half of the season. Just an absolutely cursed season, but hey it happens. Calgary kinda had that season last time around with Ben randomly being awful in net for them and nothing really lining up despite a very strong team on paper. So hopefully we still sneak into the playoffs and get something done in the post-season. And if we don't we can just hope that whatever slight we committed against Simon will be forgotten by next season. So we get to actually play to our potential again.

I've brought this up a lot, since my first season in the league. But always fallen on deaf ears so far at least. @ctotsupdate your player in the EFL! Our GM told me to yell at you do so, figured this is as good a time as any.

Actually the scatter plots were all me, adding in the writing surrounding it to be more captivating to people who aren't as into visual representation of stats was more what I got from Frosty in Bratislava. Also good job on writing a review that was almost long enough to be a MS in its own right. With obvious bonus points for there being a 69 in the word count.
