  4. 1. Ninefingers had fun in the VHLE. Started on Oslo for most the season which was rebuilding. Stats were ok but team suffered. Traded to Bratislava and opposite occurred. Stats were down but team won and eventually won the CUP. Ill take poor stats and a Cup anyway. 3. I was happy for them. They earned it for sure. I had London winning the whole thing. 4. If Antonia is available I would take her as a center to build around. Think Jean Devote is next and possibly a hidden gem. 6. Antonia I believe. High earner and a center which is needed by most clubs. 8. I think Vancouver and Moscow will be buyers. Have a great rookie core and can move some pieces to help with Cap later potentially. I think both clubs want to win now. 10. Tet is a great GM. I had him in Miami and he cares about this league and mentored younger players very well. A true asset to the league and Prague should be proud to have him. 11. March Madness..... and Spring
  5. I’m not quite sure he’s ready to throw his name away. Let’s see what happens when he has to lead a team then decide. He’s still a soft ass load of shite.
  6. It’s officially the off-season. A time when all of us without league responsibilities dread but a time that management savors to get a much-needed break to gear up for another season. We do have the Junior showcase I believe and the Pro-AM is starting up which is fun time consumer until we start another season. It does get harder to write some stuff as the off-season drags but for today I wanna chat about the Continental Cup Finals, an idea for debate, and the promotion of a great GM. DC WINS IN GAME 7 I have to say this was an exciting series to see unfold. 7 games that boasted 3 shutouts and a game 7 that went into overtime. You can’t ask for a better cup final and it's tough that one of these two great clubs had to lose. DC went on to win with their standout forward, The Frenchman @OrbitingDeath sniped a shot past Jesse Teno at 10:01 in OT. The real heroes of this series were the goalies. In game 7 Jesse Teno @aimkin stopped 44 of 47 shots and DCD’s Henry Tucker @NSG stopped 51 of 53 shots. The game even had a spirited center ice fight featuring DC’s Jason @Jason kranz and London center, Sjin @Sjin showing both clubs were holding nothing back to win. A huge shoutout to London’s offensive machines in Leonard Triller @Triller, Molly the Cat @JCarson, and Wann Kerr @VattghernCZ who were all in the top four for playoff scoring. They left it all on the ice and can hang their heads high after a tough loss. Anyway, Congrats to both clubs for making it fun and special congrats to DC and GM @FrostBeard and LDN GM @jacobcarson877 for an exciting Continental Cup! FREE OFF SEASON TPE? I know I can speak for a lot of people who try to max out TPE every week. Whether you do graphics, podcasts, or media spots it can be a grind some weeks. Now, I should preface this with the fact I have NO graphic skills whatsoever. I have tried on some free apps like Pixlr and I am LOST! Everything I have tried looks like shit. So? Like I said above the offseason is a great break for management. They do a lot of stuff behind the scenes and its nice for them to re-charge the batteries a bit. That being said should players get a little break from the 6 TPE media spot, graphic, or podcast in the off-season? Should there be a 5 TPE welfare button just for that time to give a rest from the long TPE boost? I still think press conference, VHL article, and trivia should still be earned but should we get a breather and some nice off season TPE for the long one? Thoughts? Could it help with retention? Help teams with players missing playoffs remain interested? Anyway, don’t really care that much curious. TET JOINS PRAGUE I wanted to give a shoutout and congrats to @Tetricide for his promotion as new GM in Prague. I had the good fortune to join the Miami Marauders on my re-create season. Although it was a short season I ended up in the Founders Cup final with a very fun Miami club. While this was my second time through the VHLM I was impressed with Tet’s commitment to the newer players, his willingness to teach them the nuances of the VHL, forum, and TPE earning, and his availability to his players. Tet obviously has a commitment to the VHL and is a great ambassador of the league. Prague is lucky to have you and I wish you success. 611
  7. Congrats @Tetricide. You will make Prague proud. I just hope you lose every game to Vancouver though!
  8. Last week started like many others for me. Wake up, check VHL forum for that red notification in the top right, catch up on discord for VHL chats and the begin my day of feeding dogs, getting daughter off to school, and going to work. However, last week I was blessed (and cursed) with a red notification ping for an article writing by real life friend and VHL rival @Thunder. For those that don’t know Thunder had a hall of fame career with defenseman, Jake Thunder. But during his final season he stepped away (like a bitch) and was constantly bombarded with texts from me about when he would return. I had almost given up hope when I read his poorly crafted article comparing my current player, Logan Ninefingers, to his favorite player (and my most hated) Brad Marchand. Despite being the brunt the article I was excited that Thunder is back in the league with another defender. He is a huge asset to any team he is on and great for the league as whole. Plus, we can both agree it gives us something to write about each week for TPE. Anyway, WELCOME BACK THUNDER, I look forward to facing off against you in the show and/or playing on the same club someday.
  9. Oh SHIT!! You compared my players to that rat faced weasel. It’s ON!! . glad your back!!! @Thunder Can’t wait for you to get to the show
  10. Thanks Pal! Now lets go win a few in Vancouver!!
  11. 1. I think it means some good things are coming to Vancouver. Mixed with the pieces we already have and some high earning newbies I am excited for what is in our future. 2. Vlad did for sure. Had to carry him home from Pub. 3. DB did great but Bratislava was hungry and had a chip on their shoulder after getting dominated by COL in the regular season. 4. Playing against someone you know and respect. I enjoy a good rivalry and some friendly shit talk 5. Effort beats talent ALWAYS! 6. Hmmmmm... @girts for sure but now we're teammates. Jake Thunder..... (If I could).. But my all time most wanted match would be my other player Brian Payne. Think Payne would take Ninefingers tho
  12. I enjoyed Mistborn but didn't love it (Don't kill me Sanderson fans). I really loved The Way of Kings (Stormlight Archive #1) in comparison though.
  13. I read to book 4. Loved the first one and thought they get progressively worse. Book 4 was a slog to get through for me. Some good portions but overall was tough. Don’t think we will ever see book 6-7 so might never finish book 5
  14. Well, its officially the off-season for some while others still hunt for Cup glory. The VHLE season is over, the Pro-am is gearing up, and I try and slog my way through another Around the League in 500 words segment. NINEFINGERS WINS A CUP My player, Logan Ninefingers finally was able to hoist a Cup in the VHLE for the Bratislava Watchmen. Logan has been in three straight cup finals starting with his re-create season (S90) with the Miami Maurauders where he lost the Cup in game 7. His next full season in the VHLM was with the Philadelphia Phantoms where he not only enjoyed a 64 goal season but his club made it to the Cup finals once again, only to lose again. Finally, this season despite only decent offensive output he was able to fill a role and win the Renaissance Cup! He will take it! Ninefingers had a great time with Bratislava with an active LR and some fun players. He learned one fact in Bratislava too…. That he wants to win more cups!! What’s next? Logan is preparing his bags for the long flight to his hometown of Seattle to see family and friends for a short time before making the 2-hour drive north to Vancouver. Ninefingers told friends that he wants to get to Vancouver early along with Riley Martin @Smarch, Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts, and fellow Watchmen teammate Vlad Von Carstein @Dom to start hitting the gym to get ready for the show. It is rumored that he has buried the hatchet with VHLE rival and monster of a Dman, Gavilrovs. It was scary enough to see these two play against each other, we can only imagine how scary it will be now that they play together and like each other. These four rookies join a Vancouver club with some hungry young talent and one of the best defensemen in the league in Liv Slater @Subject056 and a unshakable goalie in Dalkr Vidarsson @KaleebtheMighty. HELSINKI DEFENSIVE TRIBUTE Helsinki has come out to a 3-1 lead over a very tough London club. London has a scary as hell offense so the fact that the Titans have been able to stop them defensively is a remarkable achievement. Must give tons of credit to their defensive core and most notably my former teammate, Pierre Emile Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito. PEB is 5th in scoring with 18 points and has blocked 28 shots. This is PEB final season, and he’s had a great career. Not only an award-winning player but a great locker room asset to any team. Next in line is my favorite Kardashian, Kronchy @Garsh. KK is shot blocking beast (34) and despite his small size he plays a mean game. YaBoi Oven @Doomsday, the first overall pick in S90 can also do it all. He’s been rock steady all season, hitting, fighting, and scoring. He has shutdown talent that can lead the PP. I anticipate lots of individual trophies in his future. Not to be overlooked on defense either is the bone crushing hitter Tommy Sleeves @dasboot. Sleeves is a monster defensive defenseman that tips the scales at 250lbs. He leads the playoff in hits (51) and has been great this playoff at shutting down opposing teams’ offense with little or no fanfare. He shows up every night and plays a hard game for his team. Best of Luck Helsinki
  15. I bet. At least you can be somewhat productive during the drive.. Hopefully they pay you well pal!!
  16. That is TERRIBLE!!! Audio books bro. That would be the only way I could survive that
  17. Its OFFICIAL!!! The Bratislava Watchmen have officially won the Renaissance Cup. In a highly anticipated Cup Final versus the regular season’s best record holder, the Cologne Express. The Watchmen struggled all season against them and must have lit some fire in the very balanced club this offseason. They defeated the Express in four straight games, never taking their foot off the gas. Potential playoff candidate, Karol Lamb @dlamb showed how versatile he is ending up tying for lead the playoffs in points with 15. He did EVERYTHING, handling the back end defensively and punishing with his offensive upside showing why Chicago picked him 8thoverall last draft. Forward Eno Velvson @Nykonaxalso lit it up tying Lamb for playoff leader in points (15). In net, Pip Popa @npuBeT dominated the offseason, only losing one game with a 1.78 GAA and 1 shutout showing he is also deserving of some offseason trophies. Congrats to all Watchmen, past and present for a deserving championship. And congrats to @roryRory for putting together such a fun club.
  18. Crashing your PC 1. I really think that writing an original post is really not that hard and using AI is a waste of time. The PT are not complicated (graphics excluded). 2. So I will admit I am clueless to graphics in general. Tried making one on Pixlr and it was so shitty I quit and never went back. Not familiar with AI and graphics but I am sure it can be cheated easily. 3. Tough question. In real life when composing a letter or something you want to word smith well, possibly. I usually knock out my media spot and VHL article on Saturdays and it takes me maybe 30 minutes. here in VHL I don't think using it is necessary or relevant. 4. I am not familiar with punishments but I am sure they were fair. 5. No, I have never had the need to. My wife (a doctor) uses it for charting notes between patients and says its helpful there but I have no need for it yet. 6. It scares me a bit. I am a huge reader and think that AI could really cost writers their employment in the future. Technology comes with a price like we've seen with social media to the point now phones control most peoples lives. AI could contribute to that in negative ways. Time will tell
  19. Well peeps, I just got back from visiting a friend in Dallas Texas and have about zero motivation to write an “Around the League” article. But I will attempt to power through for that delicious TPE I need so very much. I haven’t been paying much attention to the other leagues seeing that I am in VHLE playoffs currently but did some surfing today. On a side note, I looked at my profile on forum today and saw that I joined on November 22, 2001! It’s crazy to me that I have been in the league that long and I am only on my second player. It certainly doesn’t feel like it and it’s a tribute to how much fun this league can be that the time just flies by. VHLE Playoffs The E is in full swing with only 4 clubs in the playoffs after some teams were cut. Bratislava and Cologne are up 3-1 on their respective opponents. It is a grind only having one game a day, but it is what it is. Looking at the stats I’d say the real MVPs of the playoffs so far are Bratislava goalie Pipo Papa @npuBeT who has a sick 1.75 GAA, .947GAA and only allowed 7 goals in 4 games. Just behind Pipo is Cologne goalie Clark @cl4rk who is 3-0-1 with a 1.82 GAA with only 8 goals allowed. AND!!!! How about a shoutout to Stockholm goalie Girogiy Constanzov @Mongoose87 with 6 PIMS! Stay out of his crease! Game 5 is up for tomorrow and you can’t count out Stockholm or Rome just yet. Both teams are relentless and as we’ve seen before, anything can happen. RIP WHEELER UPDATE Now I normally like to trash on Rip, @ScottyP just because. But, he is absolutely on fire in his short playoffs so far. The Calgary winger is #4 in overall scoring, and he’s only played two games. 4 goals in 2 games with 3 coming on the power play. Calgary must be pleased seeing the young winger gaining some confidence. A look in on his TPE earning he has been hit or miss but did put in some work to get over 800 TPE. I can’t wait until Logan Ninefingers gets to the show though Rip! The Calgary vs Vancouver rivalry will be that much better. LA vs DC Earlier this year I predicted the Los Angeles Stars to win the Cup. An extremely talented club with a great goalie, powerful offense, and a good defensive core. I went back and forth with Calgary and LA being the best of clubs and totally overlooked the D.C Dragons. D.C finished the regular season with the most goals scored in the NA conference. The possess a great goalie in Henry Tucker, and elite defenseman in Mark Calaway, and a front end full of capable scorers. D.C currently holds a 2-0 lead on the LA Stars and have held the Stars to 1 goal in those two games. I can’t believe I slept on this club because looking at the roster they could spell trouble for any team they face. Have a great week everyone!
  20. The playoffs have begun and for those sitting out the dreaded off season begins. For those still fighting for Cup dreams each day brings joy or pain when the box scores drop. For me in the E we only have one game a day, and its PAINFUL!!!! I guess if there were two games, we’d be done much earlier than the M or VHL, but not sure if that would matter much. The current standings In the VHLE playoffs shows the two favorites, Bratislava and Cologne leading their series’ 3-1. Bratislava ended the regular season hot and have kept their foot on the gas against a deadly Stockholm club. Led by Eno Velvson (4-4=8), Karol Lamb @dlamb(2-5=7) and Pipo Papa @npuBeTthey hope to close it out tomorrow. They can’t look past this Stockholm club though. Likewise, Cologne hopes to close out a relentless Rome club that has no quit in them. Cologne has relied on scoring stud Theo Alard (4-5=9) @InstantRockstar, Adi Dassler @BOOM, and George Richmond @badcolethetitan. They have a deep roster and can score quickly and often if given the chance. I predict they close it out tomorrow and will await the winner of Bratislava – Stockholm.
