  1. I just got over it too. Like the 4th time now. Get well!
  2. After an up and down career Wolves’ forward Rip Wheeler @ScottyP is on pace for some career bests, stat wise. In his second season with the Vancouver Wolves, Rip has become a great locker room presence and has been a good earner trying to do his part to get the Wolves to a Cup win. Last season he was a solid first line player, scoring 31g 46a 77pts and 7 game winning goals and 6 power play goals. This season he has been a goal scoring machine with 19g 19a- 38 points and 87 hits in 32 games. He continues to be deadly on the power play with 6 so far and 2 game winners. The Wolves are going to need him to continue his scoring as they try to gain ground in the NA conference where there are some tough teams like Toronto, Chicago, and Seattle all vying for the top spot.
  3. It’s almost the halfway point of the season and II thought I’d have a look in on my player, Logan Ninefingers. Now, coming off my last player Brian Payne who made the Hall of Fame and had a pretty great career even though I had really no clue what I was doing TPE wise. Fast forward to my second player I thought I had a better idea of what would work faster to get him contributing consistently. Little did I know. Now, Ninefingers was a savage in the VHLM his first season scoring 64g 88a for 152 points and 277 hits. Granted I had an amazing partner in @thecaringbearwho set the league on fire that season. Unfortunately, we lost in the finals that season but Ninefingers came away with a Matt Bentz Trophy for best two-way forward. So, as you can expect I was pumped. Next, came the VHLE where NInefingers was drafted by the Oslo Storm. After a quick trade to Vasteras by a leaving GM I was quickly returned to Oslo when the new GM @dlamb took over. Having played for Dlamb before I was excited even though we were in a bit of a re-build. Ninefingers played well although not to the level of success he had in the VHLM. In 44 games with Oslo he had 25g 25a 50 pts and 129 hits. Ninefingers was traded to Bratislava and joined a stacked club. His production dropped significantly only scoring 6 goals and 16a in 28 games but was worth it since the club was winning a lot and eventually won the Renaissance Cup which was awesome and I will always take wins over production any day. NInefingers ended the season with 31g 41a 72 points and 228 hits. He also took home the Aldwin Craig Trophy for best two-way forward in the VHLE joining the ranks of greats like Grimgor Ironhide @FrostBeard, Leanard Triller @Triller and Larry Abass Jr @RileyL. After being in 3 straight finals (2 in VHLM and 1 VHLE) Ninefingers joined the Vancouver Wolves, a team that my first player Brian Payne ended his career with and truly solidified what is best about the league. A great active locker room and great group of people, past and present. Like Payne, Ninefingers has the poor luck of starting each season very slowly and then picking it up after a dozen games or so. It's never fun to work so hard to earn TPE and then struggle early but that is the break with Simon sometimes. It also was rough putting all my earned point into faceoffs to get better at draws. Logan’s rookie season had him end the season pretty well with 32g 31a 63pts and 242 hits and 6 game winning goals. Not shabby on a re-building team and ended up in the conversation for Rookie of the Year. Next season, we struggled a bit as a club but ended the season great and got to the second round of the playoffs which felt great as it shortens the miserable off-season. Ninefingers finished the season with 32g 44a 76pts and 189 hits. Hits were down which was odd but again had 6 game winning goals. We come to our current season and again Ninefingers started off terrible as did the team starting 0-6. This was surprising since @Frank has put together a great club of earners and we want to be fighting for the NA top spot. To date, Ninefingers has struggle putting the puck in the net and I think I haven’t had a goal in over 10 games. He is getting assists which is just as good but more importantly we have strung together some good wins. Unfortunately, the other NA teams at the top keep winning too. Hits are down too (74) but that is probably because we have a lot of hitters on the club. But game winning goals is looking good (5) so far. I also have zero fights so far this season which really is tough considering my render is Stu Grimson. Lol. He would be disappointed. Ninefinger’s current stats are 12g 34a 46pts +18 42 PIM and 74 hits. I am no expert at the STHS ratings but wonder if I have not been very efficient at my TPE Placement and not staggered enough. Shit still confuses me despite reading the forum posts a dozen times on how to place TPE. Either way as long as we keep winning, I care little of Ninefinger’s personal stats or awards. Anyway, happy weekend y’all
  4. Review: This could be one of the best team awards highlights I have seen, especially in the VHLM. While the VHL teams often have this on clubs I am not sure I have seen such a post about VHLM awards with this much depth. I liked the graphic to start it out with and makes me wish I could do them. The article itself was amazing with detailed bios for each award as well as an honorable mention listing for each. I truly feel that this much effort in a VHLM GM for something so simple helps maintain future players in the VHL and keeps them coming back. At a time when retention of players is so important I feel other VHLM GMs should take note at something as simple as this helps show why the VHL is such a great place. The detail of this is awesome right down to the blue Halifax colors in the text. Great Job. 10/10
  5. Review: Another great and well written article about a subject that generates clicks. The draft is one of the most exciting times in the VHL and this article appeals to the reader as well as highlights many points with numerous players. The amount of research and depth of this articles goes to your credit about how much effort you put into the VHL. The headings with team logos, original TPE, and detailed and well thought out bios of each player is outstanding. The ONLY think missing is a picture of me and It would be 10/10. 08/10
  6. howdy, crashing your PC 1. I am hit or miss on Ninefingers performance. Just seems like he should be better. He starts each season slow and then picks up so hopefully I will get hot soon. 2. Free Full Cap TPE at least two weeks of off season- tough to stay motivated to write when off season drags 3. Fighting- Seems it has no effect on amount of fights. Last player I had points in fighting and some season got zero brawls 4. Probably a defender like Skor McFlueury, Jacob Stone, or Jake Thunder. Good defenders are a must 5. Silver 7. yep, as many games as I can 8. Youtube clip brought me to forum and it took me several days to commit after clicking the Create player button dozens of times. The community and eagerness to see my player improve made me stay
  7. The Vancouver Wolves started off the season inside the 7th circle of hell. Unable to get any type of momentum. But, the locker room stayed positive and have since turned it around winning 9 of their last 10 games. Still not out of the woods and need to continue to improve but the wins have added a boost of morale to the club after starting the season 0-5. The line combinations and fixes done by GM @Frank have been great. Line chemistry is firing, and the forwards are gripping their sticks a little looser now. Player of the Week must go to Riley Martin @Smarch who notched a Hat Trick against Helsinki and has 12 goals already in 20 games. On the back end, Mark Calaway @Beketov has come alive with 4 power play goals and 48 hits while Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts is crushing opponents will to live. Goalie, Dalkr Vidarsson @KaleebtheMighty has also gained some momentum after a rocky start and now has .917 Save percentage and that certainly gives the offensive minded Wolves some relief. We are hoping to continue the wins and grow as a team for the remainder of the season.
  8. Another week is coming to an end in the VHL and this season seems to be flying by. At the 20-game mark we see Chicago, Toronto, and Seattle hovering near the top of the North American conference and Riga, Moscow, and Malmo cruising in the European Conference. Surprisingly, talented teams like Vancouver and New York have stumbled showing streaks of greatness but seem to be still figuring out some chemistry issues. While the teams at the top are no surprise It does surprise (me) that New York and Vancouver haven’t been more consistent considering I picked them to be near the top of the league. New York boasts a talented roster that combines both skill and grit on both offense and defense. However, its New York’s back end that makes them so formidable. In 20 games they have only allowed in 43 goals (lowest in the league). So Lets take a look at a few: Callum Gary Yannick Janser @Daniel Janser. An obvious choice for an elite caliber defenseman. He brings a gritty two-way game that shows why NY took him first overall in S91. Point per game player that will get better as the season progresses. 2 fight wins as well. Jebediah Big Ol Doinks in Amish @hylands - Power play specialist last year with 9 pp goals he compliments NY well offensively. Also, at 509 240 lbs his tough to move and will stand in front of any puck to help his goalie. WWWWWWWWWWWWW- @roryRory- Arguably the best goalie in the league he is 10-6 so far this year with a .938 Save percentage (good for #2 overall, with #1 being a player with only 1 game) and a 2.11 GAA. The S92 Greg Clegane Trophy winner works hard every night to keep NY in the game. On offense GM STZ @STZ has put together a solid lineup as well. Led by veteran right winger, FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist the former 50 goal scorer is off to a slow start with 15 points, but I anticipate that will improve shortly. Yaroslav Trunov @qripll has been hot with 12 goals in 20 games and second year phenom and GREAT ONE, Wayne Gretzky @MubbleFubbles is set to improve on his last years numbers. He has zero PIMs in 20 games as well so curious if he will be last year’s PIM number of 14. And we can’t overlook NY’s most recent addition in Toby Kadachi @ROOKIE745. This kid is an animal with 104 hits already and 88 PIM in 20 games. Even more impressive is Kadachi already has 6 fights in 20 games with 2 wins. I can’t wait to see Kadachi match up against PIM league leader, Tommy Sleeves in a showdown of fists. Overall, I think that New York will turn it around and battle for a playoff spot in the North American Conference. They will also probably be actively looking to add some pieces via trade, but I expect the pieces they have now will improve week to week with TPE and turn their fortunes around soon. Best of luck NY, just don’t beat Vancouver
  9. Please quit beating Vancouver!!!!!!!
  10. It’s always nice to see a defensive player in the top 10 in scoring, even more impressive when that player is in her sophomore season in Riga. Lucy Leitner @LucyXpherLucy has started out hot for the first place Riga Reign. Winners of 6 straight the Rein are stacked in the back end with Skor McFleury, Fradin McGryer, and Leitner. Leitner is the full package on D proving a very capable 2-way defender that can make a great breakout pass, stop offenders, and bury the puck on the power play. Even more impressive since she has to make up for their questionable goalie, Red Panda’s @Lemorse7 many costly errors. Lucy is currently in the #2 spot in scoring with 26 points and shows no signs of stopping. At some point in my VHL life I would love to see a defender win the scoring title and just maybe it will be Lucy Leitner. Best of Luck (except against Vancouver)
  11. 1. Not sure. Maybe weekly shoutouts or player of the week segments 2. drafting 3. I would like to see auto point tasks during off season 4. Not sure we have enough players but Montreal team would be cool 5. Die Hard 6 No and yes.
  12. Wow. Awesome Job pal. As an avid reader I will definitely give it a go. Congrats! Pre-Ordered
  13. Lessons learned. Guntis has never been happier
  14. The season has finally started the Vancouver Wolves have had the roughest start imaginable. Currently last place in the NA, they have one win…..yes, ONE! A team packed with talent and young hungry prospects. What’s to blame? Is it lack of offense? For sure that is part of it. Newly appointed Captain Logan Ninefingers has been absent with only 2 goals. But what else? Physicality? Nope, they have been hitting well and Guntis has notched his first two fights. How bout curses? Who believes in those anymore? The Chicago Cubs certainly don’t after finally winning albeit it took a long time. Why, you might ask. Well, it was the first day of the season and the Wolves were happily going about their day waiting for that tell-tale discord alert that VHL Simulations Games 1-15 had begun so we could anxiously slam the buttons of our phones to see how we did. But that didn’t happen…. What did happen was as horrific as the Titanic sinking when Wolves’ rookie Defenseman Bollos De Treuno @Thunderposted in the locker room, “Excellent wins for today. What a great way to start the season. 2-0. Let’s keep it going.” Now a pretty normal post as far as locker room jargon goes so there was no alarm or suspicion from the first two teammates who posted, myself and @Smarch. BUT, both of us became confused when we could find no evidence that games have been simmed. So when asked, Bollos stated , “ Ha Ha. I coulnte take it any longer. I had to make a good prediction and get the dialogue started. Good fight Riley, And Rip, too bad he got his ass kicked!! Dalkr’s shutout was impressive.” Now anyone who has ever played a competitive sport knows that there is a risk when speaking to a hot goalie in the 2nd period intermission about his chance at a shutout or that MLB pitcher going for that elusive no hitter only to have a reliever say something stupid like, “Only one more inning and you got the shutout buddy.” The Karmic Gods do much to punish such foolery. AND PUNISH THEY DID! Trueno’s prank was met with a mix of light hostility as he was told of the consequences of upsetting the Cosmic STHS. So as a team we awaited the results of such a “prank.” And like Poseidon, Simon crushed his Trident into the Wolves proverbial 5 hole. The first day SIM saw us 0-2 with a big loss to NA leading Chicago but then losing to LA in a low scoring affair where rookie Roger Eagles dominated the Wolves. But it didn’t end there. Day 2 came seeing the Wolves lose to division foes DC and Toronto in some close games to go 0-4. Day 3 came and again the Wolves lost to New York showing that Simon wasn’t done with our furry friends. 0-5 before lightning struck and the Wolves got their first win against long time hated rival, the Seattle Bears by the score of 6-2. So, for those who don’t believe in Karma you only need to read this post! It's real and it's with our sincerest hope that Simon is appeased, and the punishment is over! I think I can speak for all of the Wolves that Trueno will be punished accordingly for his grave error and he is currently responsible for cleaning Guntis’s @Girtsunderwear by hand for the rest of the season. @Frank @Gaikoku-hito@Beketov
  15. 1. Pratical jokes are fun but not against STHS- it gets angry 2. It was heartbreaking. Search and I logged into discord and saw we won 2 as claimed by Trueno, angering the STHS gods giving us an 0-2 start. I say @frank bag skates him for 2 straight days and no White Claws for a month. 3. I an sure I do but cant think of one 4. I used to like camping but the older I get it just feels like I don't find it as fun. 5. Tent camping for a week where it rained hard the entire time 6. Will play xbox sometimes while drinking. And I guess I surf phone as well
  16. You gonna be traded... I know!!! Lol
  17. 1. I like the picks. Overall decent chance and room to add a few more pieces 2. D-Mac was a solid pick. A good goalie is a must and you have it now 3. Trades seems like the most likely. To go for it I think some future picks will have to go 4. yes the SBA but this will be my last player. VHL is my fav and SBA is a chore 5. I’m currently on vacation in California so enjoying it before fall 6. Toronto, Chicago, NY, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Seattle (I live close)
  18. Claiming week 2 08/11
  19. Correction! We have never fought. I’d quit VHL immediately if he beat me in shame . Thunder however did beat me the one time we fought.
  20. Big mistake saying yes to Scotty P he would be living with you and not paying rent in a week
  21. So, I am home from Victoria Island and off to California tomorrow to hang with some of my wife’s family, one of which is terribly ill. I need to knock out my 150 worder for VHL.com for next week so here we go. Not a lot to chat about since I have been whale watching and catching up on Olympics. The main thing I saw this week was the very deserving Hall of Fame induction of Prague great, John Jameson @Frank. Over 300 goals and 761 points in 576 games JJ could do it all. Underrated passer and solid in all 200 feet of ice he played a heavy game with 1821 hits and 1097 PIMS. Frank makes great players and JJ is the player I modeled Ninefingers after so let’s hope Logan can get half the numbers Jameson did. All in all, Frank deserves this honor for Jameson but also being a great ambassador for the VHL and all around great dude! Congrats!
  22. Congrats all. Well deserved
  23. 1. No I don't think so. Makes it easier for GMs and I think its exciting for new players 2. Yep, Is hard in the M to be competitive every season with turnover but Ricer is smart and wants to win and has a great LR. 3. Getting inside to get air conditioning. 4. I would say a Marlin or StingRay 5. Summer been great. Actually leaving for vacation this morning to Victoria. 6. Flint, knife, and a container for water
