  1. 1. It's preseason time folks, are you excited? How do you think we'll do? The anticipation is finally going to be coming to an end and we get to start up again. I think we will do great with the players we have and the commitment the GM and AGM have to bringing about success. Good Luck you all. 2. How'd you do on your predictions for last season? Ohhh, that was like 4 days ago. I forgot already how many I got. I’m pretty sure I’m going to get more right this season. Can’t tell you why! 3. Were you present for our very own Beketov's zoo tycoon charity live stream? Actually got on twitch this morning and tried to access the zoo tycoon on Beketov’s site. It was too slow and I’m technically illiterate and impatient so I did not see what it was about. 4. Did you enter in for the VHFL this season? Yes, and currently waiting to make my 2nd pick due to a non-participant at this time. Eventually I will get my team and will have a championship team! 5. Are you happy with the decision by the team to name Kristof Welch, Brois Tsezar, James Teekirque, and David Tavau captains? Of course. You all deserve the letters. Congrats. 6. Also it's currently Easter, do you have any special plans? This very moment, watching golf and patiently waiting for some VHL results, the VHFL pick, and getting my exercise in. All the other stuff is done.

  3. This part of the TPE earning process always seems to be the hardest. Completing the press conference as soon as its available, getting the trivia answers correct can sometimes take a bit of work, and the 6 TPE article is always a work in process in my brain so sometimes gets done early. Now with, 2 tpe remaining, I gotta project some points that will be constructive, relative, hopefully with some humor, lightheartedness, and somewhat enjoyable to the reader. Sitting here typing leads me to the first topic. The start of the new season. Maybe I need a life! All I could think about from the end of my first season was the start of the next season. How cool is this stuff? Well, it is a heck of a lot of fun to be getting ready for the draft, joining pro-am, responding to interviews, and tracking progress. Then the new hybrid comes into play and adds to all the hype. I have found all this fascinating and give kudos to all you people who are doing things behind the scenes to make this a success. This has to be a lot of work. It’s all so new to me, but doesn’t seem to be foreign to most people on this site. Maybe I just lived a sheltered life! Now that the draft is over, and I am on my new teams, I am looking forward to what this brings. Two new discord groups to look at and to get to know a whole set of new people on the site, although I still haven’t figured out if its ok to get involved on the vhl team channel or stick with just the vhle channel, because I haven’t earned my place yet in the VHL. It doesn’t matter, its all a lot of fun. Probably one of the coolest things I discovered while chatting on discord, is this sport call disc golf. I never knew there was so much to it and all this complex decision making with which frisbee, I mean puck, I mean disc, to use all depending on the type of shot, the obstacles, the distance, the terrain, and the wind. At least I got some really good advice from a new teammate, start out slow and only use the putter. Now, I could never end an article without bringing up Brian Payne, the Payne Train as he likes to be called. I was so looking forward to playing against him in season 83, so I could get some bragging rights when I kicked his ass, but he’s moved up to the VHL and I’m going to get better in the E. So, listen up Payne Train…. You have one more season before your knees are going to tremble when the Dynamo take on your Predators. Enjoy it while you can, cuz I’m bringing Thunder!!! And BoJo, I know you will laugh every time you read the stats when Payne goes down!
  4. Another week has passed and Rico Zamboni is still squatting on the luxury super yacht owned by Vegas Captain Juan Ceson. The classy ship was last seen in port at Barcelona, where Zamboni was first spotted. The ship has since sailed and many wonder where its aimed at. Rico Zamboni, the 84 year old ice resurfacer, recently parted ways with the Vegas Aces, and GM Shindigs, when he discovered the amenities on the “Juanita Ceson”. Shindigs recently asked his star captain for some news on Zamboni’s whereabouts, but Ceson seemed unconcerned. He admitted to receiving statements for the ship and has no issues with Zamboni spending money to enjoy the yacht. Some of the recent bills Juan Ceson received include: several cases of Maine Lobster, premium Japanese Wagyu Beef, Poppy VanWinkle Bourbon, and street tacos. From the list of groceries, it’s appeared to Ceson that Zamboni has plans hosting a party on the “Juanita” somewhere in the Atlantic. When Ceson showed Shindigs one of the invoices, which happened to be a purchase of a state of the art satellite phone, Shindigs grabbed his phone and called the number listed on the purchase. Rico Zamboni answered on the first ring only to discover it wasn’t the bombshells making arrangements to get on board the boat for the hot tub party. “Oh hey, Shindigs, how goes it? I heard you’re quite happy with the draft.” Shindigs filled him in on the status of the VHLM Las Vegas Aces. Shindigs told Zamboni the Aces have the talent to go far in season 83, and will likely take home the trophy. He proudly described his sniping forwards to be a group that will put in the goals and stats will be high this season. With Blake MacTavish and Anton Bielas coming back and in the best shape their lives. And with newcomers like, Dogwood Maple and James Kagelberg, Shindigs plans on a high scoring, dominating team. Shindigs is just as pleased with his defense as team Captain Juan Ceson will be the role model for the younger defensemen and he expects some exciting moments on the ice, with Ceson coming out of training camp with a fierce attitude and new flame to lead the team to a championship. Shindigs was not about to hang up without mentioning the goalies for the Aces, and said having both goalies to remain from the MubblesFubbles team, he is sure to stay in every game. Travis Clark is at peak performance, and back up Corey Evans is doing just as well so he wanted to shout out to Mubbles for building two solid puck stoppers. Everything was jovial until the name Hugh Johnson was brought up. Shindigs threw out “F” bombs for about 10 minutes straight discussing how disappointed he was about the promising forward attached to the Aces. When Shindigs finally stopped his rant, Zamboni offered a suggestion to Shindigs. “You need to speak with Brian Payne and Jake Thunder, to light a fire under Johnson’s ass.” Shindigs agreed, and wanted to reach out to Payne right away since it was Payne who vouched for Hugh Johnson. Just before ending their conversation, Shindigs found a solution to his problem with Hugh Johnson. “Hey Zamboni,” Shindigs started, “How about I give Hughie a break to spend a week with you on the luxury yacht you have taken over, and he gets all the fun, drink filled partying and philandering out of his system, because he is useless here. Every night he’s going to clubs, drinking white claws, starting fights, causing commotion, and just out right acting like a juvenile.” Zamboni was astonished by this request, “You want me to babysit him?” Shindigs wasn’t surprised by Rico’s response and agreed that he would have to get Brian Payne, Johnson’s white claw drinking buddy, to help put Johnson back on track. Zamboni looked over the bow of the yacht, a vision of splendor as he waits for the beautiful bombshells. Yes, Zamboni is enjoying the last days of his life.
  5. Oslo Storm Press Conference Week Ending 4/17/22 1. The draft is over and our roster has arrived in Oslo. What’s the first comfort from home that you must find when you get into town? I have to find a taco truck close to the hockey rink so I can get 12 tacos asada. Preferably a truck that also serves onion and jalapeño with the tacos and has a good salsa Calliente. 2. What skills does your player show off to teammates during your first practice together? Puck juggling. In Vegas I earned extra beer money on the strip betting people how many pucks I can juggle at once. 3. Was your player practicing and training hard during the off-season, or did they go into full vacation mode? Training non stop. There is no reason to not stay in shape. 4. The new trainers need to know what kind of smoothies and protein drinks to brew up for you - what flavors are you into? Sweet or savory? Fruit or vegetables? All of the above? I prefer a chocolate goat whey protein shake. As far as smoothies, go ahead with raspberry smoothies or cactus smoothie. I will eat most vegetables and fruit, except Hummus and papaya 5. The Storm is considering a new in-stadium mascot: what would their name be, and what would they look like? “Lightning” has the face of the Oslo logo and the body shape of an inverted pyramid. He carries a staff that is electric and emits lightning. And when Thunder hits an opponent, lightning lights up the stadium. 6. Do you have any connections to your new teammates? Anyone you’re excited to get to share the ice with? Or: What do you think your teammates will appreciate about your style of play? I played with Pete Mitchell at Vegas, but I am excited to get on the ice with any teammate. If I can get my build back up then I’m hoping to contribute by hitting, blocking shots, and passing.
  6. Who knew? Certainly not me when I was talked into joining the VHL. I think it was about a month of listening to Scurvy talk about how many hits he got or if he scored a goal, got an assist, or what was happening to his player. Every day I listened to him mention something about the VHL. He gave me the website address; I looked at it and chickened out. There’s no way I can get on line for something like this. It looks too confusing. Finally, though, when Scurvy was bragging about all the fights he got in the World Juniors, or something like that, I decided to take the big plunge and sign up. So, I am signed up and its a few days before the big draft into the VHLM. “Don’t worry, you’ll get drafted,” Scurvy told me, even though I hadn’t done a thing other than sign up. Then I have to get on this thing called Discord along with the VHL Portal. “You need to build your player,” he tells me. With one day left to the end of the week and start of the draft, I get the advice to click welfare and practice. Woo hoo, I just improved. I’m sure to get drafted now! Later on draft day, i get a text from Scurvy, “The draft is on Twitch, you gotta sign up for Twitch.” Prior to this I thought twitch was that involuntary movement my wife makes when she’s about to yell at me. Anyway, I sign up and impatiently wait for the draft to take place. Apparently there was a snafu and every pick was a first round pick, but that didn’t matter to me. I just wanted to hear that Jake Thunder was drafted. Well, I waited and waited, round after round, and finally had to shut Twitch down because I needed to get my workout in. An hour and fifteen minutes later, I turned Twitch back on to find the draft had ended. I wasn’t drafted. I was totally bummed. That was until I received an offer. Apparently I was a free agent. Awesome. I’m now on a team. Scurvy was right, sort of. I would get on a team. Thus the start of my VHLM career, and my social media career on Discord, VHL Portal, Twitch, Anchor, and whatever else to come. It’s an obsession now. Every day I get on Discord, check things out. I’m on the portal multiple times a day, looking at teams, rosters, TPE, drafts, etc. Every spare moment looking at articles and such. Trying to get TPE also. This beats Facebook, Instagram, Tweeter, LinkedIn. Everything. Whoever thought of this is a genius!! Now, to tonight. I am probably not going to be able to sleep because the draft is tomorrow. At least that is what I have heard. I will spend the day eager to get to the time of the draft and anxious of being drafted. And I get to go through it again on Thursday with the VHLE draft. Oh man, I can’t wait. Now you might say “Get a life!!” Well, you’re right. My new addiction and I’m going to do this VHL thing for as long as its an active thing. As far as the wife goes, she has her kindle!
  7. I need the TPE so I’m doing another graphic review! Starting with the title. It fits the graphic perfectly for you. Most likely you are quite the graphic designer if you consider it a crappy one. I found it quite good even though it was probably simple for you to do. The colors were chosen well and the font was a good one. You spaced the words so that they are not overly obnoxious, but fits into the graphic design really good. You have chosen probably one of the best Napoleon Dynamite photos given the title. Of course if you chose the title after selecting the photo then you chose the perfect title given the photo. I like the lower half of your graphic also. The banged up boards give support to your words having some tv lines in them. Another great ratio to go with the complete graphic. I wish I had the talent to make graphics for the 6 tpe, because then I wouldn’t have to think of things to write to get it! I don’t think I have reviewed a previous graphic of yours but I expect to in the future and look forward to it. Score 10/10
  8. The Las Vegas Aces General Manager, Shindigs, will be looking for a new zamboni driver, after Rico Zamboni was last seen squatting on the luxury yacht recently acquired by Aces Captain, Juan Cesan. Shindigs reached out to the 84 year old ice resurfacer for a return date, only to be informed that Rico would be retiring and planned on traveling where ever the world class luxury boat will take him. Shindigs wished him well and said that if there was to be any squatter on the HMS Vegas, it should be Rico Zamboni. Shindigs didn’t end the conversation with Rico after discussing Zamboni’s status on the yacht. They spent several minutes talking about the upcoming season for the Aces. Zamboni expects some great things for the Las Vegas team after MubbleFubbles had built previously. Shindigs promised a championship trophy to which Mubbles was unable to accomplish. Rico acknowledged that Shindigs has made some bold moves right away in an effort to bring home a relic. The first being that he has given Eagle more responsibility as the Assistant General Manager, and supporting Eagle’s decision on providing Juan Cesan with a mansion, yacht, airplane, and several other amenities, such as a three million dollar car, and several farm animals. In addition to the amenities, Juan Cesan was given the title of team captain, to which Rico agreed was the boldest and brightest move Shindigs could make as the inspiration to Cesar’s teammates would surely provide the team chemistry and morale to lead the Aces to a championship. Zamboni mentioned to Shindigs that if Juan Cesan does what he says he’s going to do regarding the new build, Cesan will be a threat to behold as the team enforcer. With all TPE in Grit, Cesan should be a destroyer and put opponents in fear. Rico Zamboni had some questions for Shindigs, to include how things were going with Brian Payne, after Bojo Johansson and he moved on to their VHL teams. Bojo is going to be a star with Chicago, while Payne is headed to Warsaw, where he will have to prove himself to get some playing time among a star studded defense. Shindigs was proud to boast about his teammate and how he helped mold Payne into the tough defenseman and promised to look out for him in the future. Still, Johansson looks forward to some time on the ice when he is opposite of Payne and guarantees to instigate some trouble in the most fun loving way, all the while Payne says he will be running the pain train all over Bojo should there be such a confrontation. Payne warned Johansson that team loyalty comes before old friendships and joked that it would only hurt for a little while. Zamboni asked Shindigs about some recent Aces players, to which Shindigs filled him in on the upcoming VHL draft, indicating that five Aces should be picked up in the first two rounds. Pete Mitchell will likely be picked up first as he is the goal scoring sniper that is desired by every VHL team. Landon Wolanin, Ivan Retoslav, and PJ Daniels are the other forwards who are expected to be grabbed early, while the only defenseman, Jake Thunder, is the fifth Aces to be on the list to be drafted. Shindigs relayed that there will be several Aces players to be drafted in season 84 and he expects to provide those players all the tools needed to make it to the E. This includes Juan Cesan, who seems to be putting off the advancement as much as he can. In addition to causing Shindigs unnecessary concern, it puts Eagle in a position where he has to enforce the conditional clauses in Cesar’s contract and rewards. The house, yacht, airplane, cars, and farm animals are all subject to immediate return should Juan Cesan not fulfill his contractual agreement. 648 words

Will you be watching any of the drafts live on Twitch? You better believe it. I am addicted to this league. I watched the M draft, sadly not getting picked!! 2. Do you have any pick for the biggest potential steal in the VHL draft? If so, who? Haven’t thought about a steal because I have little knowledge of any team looking to trade draft picks to facilitate a steal or are holding back for a sleeper. When I’m in the league a few seasons and have some experience maybe I could answer this intelligently. But then again, maybe not. 3. Who do you think Chicago Phoenix will pick 1st overall in the VHL Draft? Scotty Sundin (C), or Brandt Fuhr (G)? Either one is going to help the team, but with Chicago not having a goalie on the roster, I would expect them to go with Fuhr. 4. We have several Vegas alumni looking like they will go in the 1st round of the draft: Jake Thunder, Pete Mitchell, Landon Wolanin and PJ Daniels. Who do you think will be off the board first, and why? Pete Mitchell has all the talent to lead a team with scoring and assists. I think Pete will be the first Aces to go. 5. @predsfan59 just came back to the league after some time away, and will be joining the team next season. What is your best advice for him to enjoy his time in Las Vegas? Follow your captain’s advice. He will lead you on a path to somewhere. 6. After another week of negotiating with Juan Ceson about him staying around for another season, he somehow ended up giving himself the captaincy. How do you feel about this turn of events? He is a leader of bots. His brain works differently. If the knobs get turned to the right positions, who knows what his potential could be. Quote Report

  11. This article, which by the way is going to be worth 2 TPE, is two-fold. First, an admission of guilt and apologies to all the updaters who have had to send me messages every time I mess up with my submissions for TPE, and second to provide some simple easy help for those newbies (newer than me) looking to get TPE. Let’s start with the first topic. Over the course of season 82, I proudly submitted reviews, articles, bulk claims, donation claims, heck even a couple graphics. In the beginning it was really rough trying to figure out how to put a link into the submission, only to find out that the link was wrong. It didn’t take long to get the first bit of advice from experienced members. A special thanks go out to Beketov, Spartan, and Zach right off the bat as they were the first three to offer assistance and also fix my erroring ways! Enorama, OrbitingDeath, and Rory were the next three to have to deal with my continued “F” ups. Josh, Dil, and Beroka also got in on correcting me. OMG, as I write this I realize what a dipshit I am to have all these people have to correct my mistakes, offer suggestions, and take time to get me on the right path! I thought I had things down as I might have gone a whole 2 weeks without a denial but NOOOOO, Wham! Another screw up today. But, it was all fixed with little effort on my part and more effort on the updater’s part. So once again I thank you all very much and I hope that as my time in the league continues and my experience improves, you will each have to send “notice of TPE denial” messages less frequently!! I wish I could blame Scurvy for his assistance or Shindigs for his input, but I cannot. They are not to blame, I am. The second part, simple instructions for new members looking to get TPE accepted the first time: 1). Learn where to write articles quickly and don’t just input them anywhere in the forums. 2) Graphics belong in the graphics forum. 3) Getting TPE for donations requires a transaction code in the donation forum. 4) After submitting a topic, immediately find the three dots … and click “share” then copy the link to paste in the TPE link. 5) And the most important of all… Reviewing an article or graphic is 1 TPE, not 2. To the nine people mentioned thanks again for putting up with my wrong inputs and fixing things. You all make this game enjoyable. I look forward to a bright future in the league with fewer errors. *Notice, no graphic or signature attached because I haven’t figured that out yet!!! But someday I will.

  13. Graphics Review This graphic is well done. I have no clue what software you used, but the player immediately jumps out and yet the background blends into the player very well. The light blue transitioning into the darker blue behind the player is really good and looks professional. The orange above the player head goes with the red jersey and adds to the graphic. I like the opaqueness of the signature so that it doesn’t detract from the player, who is the focus of the graphic. The font and size is just right for this graphic. I’m not sure if you played with the font or the size of your signature, but the ones you picked are really good. Your design is very good. The team logo is also well sized and colored. I’m glad you didn’t try to blend it with the blue or blur it at all. The design fits just right on the right side of the player and isnt dominating the graphic. You placed the right amount of emphasis on the logo to add quality to the graphic. Once again, I review graphics and get envious of the talent that people have doing these graphics. Your graphic is at the top of the ones i have reviewed, not that my opinion counts too much because we both know I am reviewing this for the TPE!! Overall you did a great job and I have nothing to say that is considered constructive criticism. Thanks for doing such a great graphic to make it easy to review! Score 10/10
  14. Only one day into his visit in Warsaw, Rico Zamboni changed plans, took the next flight to the United States, landed in Las Vegas, and Ubered directly to the Las Vegas Aces Headquarters. The 84 year old ice resurfacer was watching ESPN 7 on the veranda of his Warsaw suite, when he saw the change in leadership for the VHLM hockey team. Mubbles took on another job and that left an opening for the GM position, which was deservingly handed to Shindigs, after a short negotiation process. Vegas was not about to let someone with Shindigs’ caliber slip by and be grabbed by another team. The new GM Shindigs, and his relatively new AGM Eagle have jumped into the new responsibilities with the gusto and intensity that made them so desirable as managers. The city is buzzing with excitement and people are already talking championship. Rico Zamboni took the opportunity to meet with Shindigs, during a morning executive meeting. Zamboni could tell that Shindigs was already feeling the pressure but was handling things with enthusiasm. Zamboni questioned Shindigs regarding his biggest challenge, to which Shindigs discussed his star defenseman, and team captain, Juan Ceson. Early on in the negotiating process with the diminutive defender, Eagle understood from Shindigs’ direction to retain Juan Ceson no matter the cost. After several meetings and discussions, the Aces punisher agreed not to retire in exchange for a luxury home and other amenities in Juan Ceson’s home country, Andorra. Eagle went through a lot of trouble to please Ceson, until the deal was reached. Juan Ceson will be able to return to his homeland anytime he chooses, where he will be able to enjoy his modern mansion, which includes an indoor pool, hockey rink, barn for horses and donkeys, a pond for fishing, and 8 car garage where Juan Ceson will also be provided a variety of vehicles. A luxury yacht was also included. The yacht is currently moored in Barcelona. Once the negotiations were complete and Ceson agreed to stay on the Aces, Shindigs began his managing of the build of Juan Ceson to make him the leader of the team and defender of the Aces. Shindigs has provided Ceson with the numbers needed for the 165.1 CM, 63.503 KG brute force on the ice. With the new hybrid in play, Ceson will likely put all 100 TPE he currently has into grit, which is surely going to make him the number 1 instigator in the league, not to mention a heavy checker who will most definitely punish the opposing forwards. Juan Ceson was a dominating defender in season 82 and although he didn’t get the playing time he deserved, he put up some impressive numbers, including 38 hits and 40 blocked shots. One would think that with Ceson’s focus on crushing hits and aggressive hockey that his penalty minutes would be through the roof; however, Juan managed to remain on the ice without spending too much time in the sin bin. Shindigs is prepared for Ceson’s role as gritty instigator and expects the team captain to get a few more minutes in the box, he is will to take that as it will also put an opposing team player in the box as well. Ceson only needs to choose who he fights with. All of this has excited the Las Vegas fans and the odds makers have created a Juan Ceson book giving fans the opportunity to place bets on the defender. Rico Zamboni has placed a large bet on Ceson’s first game, on the over/under of penalty minutes by Ceson. Right now the over/under is at 10.5, which Zamboni says is extremely low and he placed his bet on the over. For other wagers, feel free to look into the Las Vegas Aces Discord Channel, or watch for the next article involving Rico Zamboni. Zamboni left Shindig’s office wishing him a successful season and expecting good results. It is reported that Zamboni is headed to Barcelona next to jump on Ceson’s yacht and take to the sea. 679 words

Then go to https://vhlportal.com/ > Player > Manage > Claim Capped > Type > Press Conference, and paste your link in the box. 1. This is my first Presser as your new GM, but what is your best @MubbleFubbles memory from his time as Vegas GM? Mubbles was good at keeping us informed with TPE opportunities. Also had a strategy going into playoffs. But the best was when mubbles signed Juan Ceson. 2. What goals do you have for your player this upcoming season? To get drafted and help new team. And to wait for Juan Ceson to get 200 TPE 3. How do you feel about the upcoming Hybrid attribute changes? Are you ready for them, or do you think you'll need some help adjusting? I will be looking for some help. Played with the #’s to see what might work best but not sure. Will have to see what Juan Ceson does with his TPE first. 4. With Vegas having 2 1st round picks in the upcoming draft, who would you most like to join us? Whoever you choose. You’re GM and have been scouting, so you know. And of course Juan Ceson will help them become hockey players. 5. Some of you are about to get drafted to the VHL/E. Are you excited about it? For those already drafted, how do you feel about your future post-Vegas careers in the VHL/E? Of course!! I need a new home to go to since I had to leave Vegas. I will miss Juan Ceson. 6. Management is currently in negotiations to try and keep Juan Ceson from an early retirement, what are your predictions for how it all ends? Juan Ceson is BBE. He cannot retire or get traded. He’s the team Captain.
  16. Graphics Review I'm not good at graphics so I could never accomplish what you just accomplished. The player and GM combined into one graphic is impressive. I'll start with the left side of the graphic. You have the focus on the player face and it fits perfectly, dominating just over a third of the left side. You blended the green, blue, and white to make it flow. Nothing appeared out of place, size, or against the eye. Lastly on the left side, you started the signature just right to build it onto the right side. In addition, the blend of the left and right was just enough blend and contrast to explain the graphic title perfectly. Now to review the right side of the graphic. I liked that you didn't dominate that side with your GM and put the focus on the team logo. The colors blended quite well once again and the contrast of the GM was done really well. The blue/white streaks going up and left towards the middle of the graphic bring both the player and the GM together and with the signature coming across at an angle it adds to the graphic altogether. Now, to the signature. My initial though of the word "The" might be too dark, but upon further reflection, I see that the dark color with the thin edge contrast was done just right because it was overlayed on a portion of the player that if you had lightened it up it probably would have looked off. The "Minions" signature was done very well also as it blends with the lower portion of the graphic and is a good color so that it doesn't take over the graphic nor does it look like it was an afterthought. Overall, you did a great job with each part of the graphic to blend all three topics into one graphic. This is the first graphic I have paid attention to that was created by you and I am impressed. Now possibly someone more skilled than me could review this and come up with some fault, but I can't. Great job!! Score 10/10
  17. Game Recap - Game # 84 Moscow Menace vs Vancouver Wolves Vancouver took a 2-0 lead in the best of 7 series Continental Cup Final, in game #84. Another exciting game for hockey fans as 107 shots were fired on net by both teams but the Wolves prevailed 4-2. Vancouver scored three straight goals in the first half of the period to take a commanding lead. Jivere Zolnek, Hari Singh Nalwa, and Tyler Reinhart all added a goal to their stats, making Vancouver GM Nykonax pleased with his team’s performance and giving Menace GM Spartan continued heartburn. Kyosti Karjalainen scored on a power play to bring the game 3-1 and then The Seabasstard continued to represent Moscow well and scored before the end of the first period to make it 3-2 going into the locker room. An undisciplined second period showed no goals on the scoreboard, but several penalties. The game was getting somewhat chippy by the referees as all but one penalty was on the Wolves during the 2nd period. Both GM’s complained at the end of the period and it appeared the referees listened as there was only one penalty in the 3rd period. That penalty proved to be costly for the Menace as Vancouver defender capitalized on a hooking minor by Duncan Idaho, and scored a power play goal to give the Wolves a two goal lead that Moscow could not overcome. Thadius Sales got the first star, while repeat star earners from game #83, Tyler Reinhart and The Seabasstard stepped up again for second and third stars. The teams travel to Moscow, where Spartan plans to even the outcome, for game #85 and #86,
  18. Game Recap - Game #83 Moscow Menace vs Vancouver Wolves League favorite Vancouver Wolves took game #1 in the Continental Cup Finals, as expected, in a 4-3 victory over the Moscow Menace. Robin Galante Nilsson put in the first goal for the Wolves, followed by Jerome Reinhart, to make it a 2-0 game after one period. First star Tyler Reinhart made it 3-0 just two minutes into the second period. Corey Kitson and Jerome Reinhart got credited for the assists. It looked like Moscow was going to get wiped out; however, Paul Atreides got one back less than 30 seconds later to bring the game to 3-1 and the two teams battled scoreless the remainder of the 2nd period. Moscow GM, Spartan, had seen enough and went into the locker room between periods. Whatever was said, it definitely made an impact as the Menace came out of onto the ice with a different focus. The Moscow team scored two goals within the first 5 minutes. Both goals were scored by The Seabasstard, who was named the second star of the game. With a tie game, the crowd started to pound on the seats and this energized Omi Aberg to fire in the game winning goal. Moscow could not put another one in net and the game ended with a disappointing loss for the Menace but a happy Vancouver Wolves and elated third star Jerome Reinhart. The teams play again in game # 84.
  19. (Answer all 6 for 2 TPE) To Claim: Go to https://vhlportal.com/ > Player > Manage > Claim Capped > Type > Press Conference 1. Our playoffs unfortunately ended sooner than we'd hoped with a Game 7 loss to the Reapers, what did you think of our season overall? It was a fun season even though Houston got lucky. This being my rookie season, I didn’t know what to expect. I’m glad I got on a good team with some good people. Thanks. 2. As of writing the VHLM Finals between Houston and Saskatoon is tied at 3-3, who would you like to see win? (If finals are already over when you answer, were you surprised about the winner?) I wanted Houston only because that is who I picked on the latest prediction for TPE. Its all about the TPE!! 3. This usually gets posted on Monday, but it's only got posted on Wednesday this week due to a mix-up on who was submitting it. What punishment should MubbleFubbles face for this heinous crime? No punishment. The AGM should have noticed the conference wasnt done on Monday and reached out to you. Its his fault. 4. We have someone impersonating a BOT in our discord, what are your thoughts of his pro-BOT stance in atypically anti-BOT locker room such as Las Vegas? He is the best bot ever and the team captain from now until he decides to no longer be captain. He always brings some humor to the discord and I have LMAO a few times because of him. 5. The new GM hasn't been announced yet, is there anyone you would particularly like to see get the role? Either Eagle or Juan Ceson. 6. Is there any job in the VHL you would one day like to have and, if so, which would you like and why? Someday I would like to be AGM and then GM, but I dont have PC, only Mac so not sure if I can do it or know what it takes yet. I would also be willing to take on approving TPE points. LIke I said this is my first season and I find this whole thing quite interesting and fun.
  20. Everyone in the hockey world knows the success of Brian “The Payne Train” Payne was a direct result of his association with Bo Johanssen. There is no argument that BoJo kept Payne in shape, sharpening his hockey skills, and most importantly out of trouble, during their time together at Bratislava. But now that Johanssen will be championing the defense of the Chicago Phoenix, Payne will be without his role model as he heads to Warsaw to try to fit in with the solid veterans on the Predators. Several questions came up as Payne packed for his new club. Will Payne have the discipline to build his player to the competitive level needed in the VHL? Will his playful tactics of spending nights in the local pubs drinking whiteclaws be a detriment to his future with the Predators? Will he lay in bed whimpering about the loss of his best friend Johanssen? And most importantly, will Payne be able to deliver the Payne Train against BoJo when they compete against each other in the league? Each of these questions are answered below. Payne is going to struggle with his player build as he sees himself as a clutch fighter and bruiser, with a major responsibility of enforcer and antagonist. However, he will soon learn that in the V, there is little room for a bully with little man syndrome. Perhaps “Chaparito” would suit him for a new nickname as it fits him much better. Payne’s playing time will most definitely be affected if he fails to adapt to the team’s rigid standards and perhaps Payne can contribute in another way, such as filling the gatorade bottles. Rumor has it that the Mark Anthony Group has ramped up advertising in Warsaw, promoting the White Claw gluten free drink, and has applied for naming rights to the new Warsaw Hockey Arena. Brian Payne is the new spokesman for the liquid favorite of generation xox. This solidifies the notion that Payne will be a nightlife celebrity in Warsaw, which may suit him well if he doesn’t perform on the ice. Payne’s new Warsaw flat his full of Bo Johanssen memorabilia. Posters on the wall, signed jerseys hanging in the closet, BoJo bobbleheads on the nightstand, all to comfort the new defenseman after losing his buddy to another team. Payne wakes each morning to an encouraging recording from Bo Johanssen, giving Payne the needed energy to get up and make his way to the bathroom where he has a dirty jockstrap hanging on the shower rod. Some say that’s a little too much, but to Payne, that piece of Johanssen’s fabric is his therapy dog and gets him through another day. There is no doubt Payne can deliver punishment on the ice and his stats will show that he can be successful in the V against any opponent. His prowess for the puck and for delivering powerful hits against unsuspecting forwards will most definitely be a crowd pleaser. With one exception, and a piece of advice for the Warsaw GM. Do not put Payne against the same line as Bojo Johanssen, because Payne’s loyalty to his friend and mentor are too strong for a guy like the Payne Train to overcome. 538 words
  21. Graphics Review Obviously perfect timing to make the playoff graphic so kudos to that. Specifically on that graphic, I gotta say that its done quite well. I really like the focus of the player and the face with the eyes staring and the tongue out. The fade and blur that you did was perfect. I’m not an artist so I may be missing something but I really like this one. The gray lettering was just enough contrast to highlight the purpose of the photo and wasnt too opaque to have it be a 1/2 thought. It wasnt too dark to make me focus on that either. Another point well done. Your font and size was just right and kept everything in proportion. If I had half the talent and ability to do graphics like you do, I wouldn’t have to spend all my time thinking of articles to write in order to get points. Very good graphic. Well done!! Score 10/10
  22. Game Recap Game # 29 Philadelphia Reapers vs. Saskatoon Wild Round two of the VHLM playoffs started off with a blowout. Game 1 between the Reapers and the Wild was as exciting as could be for one team and a let down for the other. Philadelphia jumped out to an early lead with a Jarno Lappi rebound off a missed shot by Eldon Escobar. Sihanouk Yasilievich gave Philly a 2-0 lead a couple minutes later after Bob Chicoine’s shot was blocked by Kyou Fujibayashi and bounced right on the stick of Yasilievich. Napoleon Dynamite was called for tripping, who allowed the Reapers to get the power play. The second period was just as ugly for Saskatoon, as The Reapers scored 3 goals in the first 5 minutes of the period. Alf Larsson got his 3rd goal of the playoffs, followed by Dylan Powers and Sebastien Dokis. Brian Kowalski scored midway in the period off a shot by Jack Quill, making the game 5-1 going into the third. Jeff Buffy scored on a power play to help make the game seem respectable for the Wild, but Eldon Escobar finished the scoring 8 minutes later to make the final outcome 6-2. The Reapers had 34 shots in the game while the Wild shot 31 times. Sivan Yasilievich earned the first star of the game with 1 goal and 2 assists. Eldon Escobar had a goal and an assist to earn the second star, while Alf Larsson got the third star with a goal and an assist as well. The Reapers come off a game 7 victory over the Las Vegas Aces, while the Wild topped the Miami Marauders in 6 games for the first round win. Saskatoon is home again against the Reapers in game #31.
  23. Disappointed was the only word that came from Rico Zamboni’s mouth after spending an extra week in Bratislava before continuing the VHL tour 2022. The 84 year old ice resurfacing master found himself a front row seat for the home games of the opening series between Bratislava and the Rome Gladiators. Things looked bright coming home from a 1-1 series in Rome, but the Watchmen lost the opening game to a tough Gladiator team. And it didn’t get any better in the second game at the Watchmen Center, as they lost again, giving them a do or die situation in Rome, which by now you know the results. The true disappointment came in between games, where Rico walked the night life of the city, only to find one of the top defensemen on the team in another drumken stupor. Brian Payne took sobbing to a new level as he decided to drown his misery of losing the playoff games by challenging anyone willing to play beer pong. Rico stepped into the Michalska Cocktail Room, where Payne gets his favorite fruity drink, the “Clawdad,” a blended concoction of Pina colada, nut buttered rum, and peach white claw. He stepped to the hostess after noticing a plastered Payne holding a Tulip glass, sucking down some clawdad. Rico asked the hostess how long Brian has been in this state of mind, and she told Rico he was about 9 crawdads into the night. He was asked to leave but a couple of Gladiator players had come in and challenged Payne to a drinking contest. The Gladiators set up the “Payne Train,” and by the time Zamboni was finally able to get Payne into the custody of Payne’s fellow defenseman, Bo Johanssen, it was clear that he would be useless in game 4. All the jelly eyed Payne could do was mumble to BoJo, until he passed out. Johanssen kept the team violations away from the coaches provided that Payne agreed to get his act together. Payne managed to stop puking long enough to get hydrated for warm ups later that evening, but he was not well enough to excel to his usual crushing self, causing pain and discontent to his opponents. Luckily his teammates stepped up to keep the game close. Following game 5 in Rome, Payne and BoJo returned to Bratislava and met up with Zamboni at the practice facility, where they talked about the future in the VHL. It’s clear that BoJo will be headed to his VHL team, the Chicago Phoenix, while the VHLE tough guy Payne, is on the bubble whether he goes up to the Warsaw Predators. If both of them leave Bratislava, it opens up some opportunities for the youngsters in the VHLM. Zamboni left Bojo and the Payne Train with some advice, whether Payne moves up or not. “Brian, you have to stay out of the bars and away from the white claws, you’re not mature enough to hold a drink in your hand. Keep your hands free for the hockey stick.” Payne let those words of advice sink in, as he and BoJo watched Zamboni head to the airport in a limo with four bombshells from the Bratislava roller derby team. Rico was smiling with his arms around two of the bombshells as the faces of Brian Payne and BoJo Johannsen faded away. As he got to the airport, he pondered whether he will next go to Moscow or Malmo. 578 words
