Season details Congratulations to eaglesfan036 for winning this season's VHFL! I'm somewhat satisfied with how things went this season. There was certainly some discussion generated from the VHFL, which is ultimately the goal I think. I don't want it to simply be another TPE source for players. Definitely I feel like the more updates there are throughout the season, the more posts will come, because that's obviously when people will tend to have comments. Perhaps the VHFL continues, I'll try to make a more dedicated return to being in charge (not in the sense that I'll try different things like I did previously, just that I'll actually make consistent updates/recaps each week). Of course if I do that, I'll also go back to taking pay for running it. But let's move on to the TPE, shall we? CHAMPION @eaglesfan036 - 1136.5 RUNNERS-UP - 5 TPE @ADwyer87 - 1128.6 @CowboyinAmerica - 1084.4 4th to 8th - 3 TPE @Streetlight @JardyB10 @Victor @Velevra @YEAH!stlemania 9th to 17th - 2 TPE @ChrisF @jRuutu @solas @Draper @Smarch @STZ @.sniffuM @Banackock @Phil 18th to 36th - 1 TPE @sterling @boom @TheLastOlympian07 @Gunner @der meister @BeanSobie @Higgins @evrydayimbyfuglien @Mr. Power @hedgehog337 @RomanesEuntDomus @gorlab @Kendrick @Tylar @jack @Green @svb @Dangles13 @bukss_a

So I guess with the last update (maybe the last two?) For some reason I had numeric values rather than formulas for the fantasy point columns, so they didn't actually change when I put in the new stats. Obviously that doesn't affect anything, other than that the updates, at least the last one, was slightly off. Anyway, I do have the final results now.

VHFL has me interested in more than just my own team's games

It was pretty interesting, yeah. Not a masterpiece but probably worth watching if you're a movie guy. Especially if you like kind of thought-provoking, mind- twisty thrillers. Not the best kind of movie to watch while tired, but I got enough to know that I'll want to watch it again. I'm not a big critic though so maybe a more trained eye will find more fault in it.
-
Yeah that's the one. I was tired while watching it, dozing off a bit. I may have to watch it again.

Has anyone seen the movie Mr. Nobody? If so, would you kindly explain to me wtf I watched last night?

Ban @ADwyer87 Then maybe I could win this season -
I'm one of those people who usually just looks at my own games when taking a look at sim results. Some seasons I may be more or less invested in the results in other games as well, and for a season like this, it would typically fall on the "much less invested" side of the spectrum. However, I have the VHFL to keep me interested. I'm currently in 6th place (current being as of Wednesday's sim), but I still have a chance at victory, though it's a pretty far chance. Second place is more of the possibility that I'm hoping for. In addition to my own games, I'm now also checking Toronto and Cologne games. This is to see how well the goalies do. I have Artom Zhumbayev on my team, and I'm looking for him to finish the season at .925 or above in save percentage. Meanwhile, I need Hans Wingate to drop below .935, because the top four all have him. I suppose I should also be concerned with Ariel Weinstein, because if he gets back over .930, Smarch will have the edge on me possibly. Surely this is long enough (haha I say that about my penis too lol xD).
-
The top ten remains the same after today's games, but a couple have swapped spots as a result of Weinstein's save percentage falling below 0.930. Jardy passed Victor to move into the top ten, while Draper is now ahead of Smarch. Wingate's save percentage continues to drop, now down to 0.936. I'm still holding out for that 75 point swing that will come for me if he falls below 0.935 and Zhumbayev can get back up to 0.925+. ADwyer87 986.1 Wingate CowboyinAmerica 958.6 Wingate eaglesfan036 943.3 Wingate JardyB10 916 Wingate Victor 898.6 Weinstein Streetlight 889.1 Zhumbayev YEAH! 875.2 S. Quebec Players Shine in All-Star Game The S50 All-Star Game between Team Kendrick and Team Power was a relatively low-scoring match, with the final score being 5-3 (since S15, only only one other ASG has had as few as eight goals total) in favor of team Kendrick. Starring for Team Kendrick were Quebec City teammates Tom Lincoln and Unassisted, earning themselves the first and second stars of the game, respectively. Representatives from the Meute had impressive performances in last season's show-match as well, with Jeff Hamilton being named the second star while playing for Team Victor. Tom Lincoln, who has been having a phenomenal season for Quebec, got the scoring started early this season. The team had been putting a lot of pressure on Hans Wingate, who had already had to make six saves in the first two and a half minutes. Before the third minute was up, Lincoln managed to put one past the future Hall of Famer, scoring the only goal of the first period. Assists went to Bubba Nuck and Unassisted on the play. Team Power would tie the game up very early into the second period, but less than a minute later, Team Kendrick retook the lead on a goal by Niels Skovgaard. Unassisted notched his second assist of the game, and he got his third just 39 seconds later when Lincoln scored his second goal to add to the lead. Team Kendrick would pile it on this period, scoring twice more. Tom Lincoln scored his third goal of the game to increase the lead to three before Unassisted scored one of his own, for which Lincoln would be credited with an assist. Tom Lincoln is a pretty good hockey player. This was Lincoln's second All-Star Game, having played in his first the prior year. He also showed up in that game, scoring two goals and adding an assist in a much higher scoring game (20 goals were scored in total). Unassisted as well had a similar game a year ago, with three points (1 G, 2 A) in his ASG debut. Also showing up on the score sheet as a representative from Quebec was Aleksi Koponen, who had a goal and an assist while also blocking two shots. (Koponen did play in this most recent ASG, but he did next to nothing). The star of the show in S49, as far as Meute players are concerned, was Jeff Hamilton, who had three goals and three assists. This was not enough to bring home a victory for Team Victor, however, as fellow defenseman Biggu Kyanon took home first star honors for Team ADwyer, scoring three goals and three assists of his own. It is worth noting that not all of the Quebec representatives in these All-Star Games had positive impacts on their teams. One player in particular performed exceptionally poorly in both S49 and S50, and that was goalie Greg Clegane. In S49, he allowed Team ADwyer to get out to a 4-0 lead, making just three saves in his period of play. He performed even worse this season, as he made just two saves, but once again allowed for goals, three of which were scored by teammates. For as impressive as some of their players have been in the All-Star Game, Quebec has bigger things in mind. Last season, the Meute were bounced from the playoffs by the Legion in six games after winning the Victory Cup. This season, it appears that Toronto will be taking the top seed, but Quebec is still very much a competitive team. If their players can bring their ASG magic to the playoffs, where the games actually matter, then maybe they will find the post-season success they are looking for. That is, of course, if Greg Clegane doesn't fuck it up.

Actually, now that I think about it, I definitely used to just update the Google sheet. Only reason I started updating a personal spreadsheet was when I was doing a VHFL podcast, so I wanted people to have to listen to know what things looked like. As far as Google sheet being slower, that is more an issue for me when I update career stats, which has a lot more on it. But the S50 VHFL spreadsheet is updated for you guys now (assuming you don't read this post within two minutes of me posting it).

It runs more slowly than what I use.

Also I don't feel like actually uploading the updated spreadsheet to the Google spreadsheet so I'll just show you the top ten with which goalies they have here: ADwyer87 978.1 Wingate CowboyinAmerica 950.6 Wingate eaglesfan036 935.3 Wingate Victor 919.6 Weinstein JardyB10 908 Wingate Streetlight 887.1 Zhumbayev YEAH! 868.2 S. Clegane Smarch 861.7 Weinstein Draper 848.3 Dadonov ChrisF 835.6 Dadonov

Max Molholt is not doing so well this season, and neither are the fantasy teams who have selected him. He is on 10/35 rosters, but the highest placing at the moment is ChrisF in 10th with 835.6 points.
-
BeanSobie and RomanesEuntDomus are the only teams that have Wingate and aren't in the top five; they are in 22nd and 24th, respectively.
-
I might update this a bit more often as the season winds down. Right now our top five is as follows: 1. ADwyer87 (978.1) 2. CowboyinAmerica (950.6) 3. eaglesfan036 (935.3) 4. Victor (919.6) 5. JardyB10 (908) I've added a column in the standings that shows goalie for the top teams. It's worth noting that all of the top five except Victor have Wingate as their goalie, and if his save percentage drops below 0.935 when the season is over, that's 50 points he will lose.
