  4. In electing to play in the VHLE this season, Jacob Stone put himself in a position where he will be up against the toughest competition he has faced yet. He had performed adequately in his brief stint in the VHLM last season and in the JST during the off-season, but there was no clear indication that he was ready for the next level. A concern when deciding to fast forward one's career by not playing a full season in the VHLM is that you may be a liability to your VHLE team. After four games with the Stockholm Vikings, that doesn't seem like it will be the case for Stone, though by no means did he dominate. The Vikings went 2-2, with Stone leading the team in minutes played, averaging 29.22 per game. He got his first point out of the way in the first game, and his first goal came in game four. In addition to the two points in four games, he had seven hits and eight blocked shots. All in all, his numbers were rather pedestrian. The high point of his game thus far has been his ability on the penalty kill. He has yet to commit a penalty himself, which has left him to get plenty of time on the ice down a man, averaging 3.45 minutes on the penalty kill per game. He has been a big part of the success of the Stockholm penalty kill, which has allowed just two goals on 17 attempts. There is a lot of season left to be played, but thus far Jacob Stone hasn't embarrassed himself in the VHLE, and given where he is at in terms of his development, the expectation is that things will only get better from here on out.

  7. 1. I think more than anything, I'm expecting to get a decent number of assists. I've done fairly well in terms of shots blocked and hits in the VHLM last season and the JST in the off-season, but I think being on one of the better rosters, I might see those numbers go down. I think my assist total, while it will probably still be worse because I'm playing against much tougher competition, will be the highlight of my stats in the season. That being said, I'm still not expecting to do too great, but hopefully by the playoffs I can become a major contributor. 2. No, I'm just trying to be as good as I can be to be a great player all-around. 3. I think Cologne and Oslo look like the teams to beat, with the Storm having a slight edge if I had to pick one. I do think Cologne looks like the slightly better team now, but I think the Oslo roster will overtake them during the season. 4. I didn't even really notice I was playing in the JST for a while. My team didn't do too great, I think we were last going into the playoffs, but we won our first round in a good series. I had moderate success I think. I did quite well in the playoff series that we won. Really though, I didn't care much for the tournament and hardly paid attention. 5. It gets both hot and cold where I live, but I think as far as extremes go, it's more on the cold side. That being said, I choose hot because I'm sick of the cold. 6. My highlight of 2023 thus far has been the first day of the year. I had spent NYE through the following day at a friend's cabin with a fun group of people. It was a good time.

  10. What a shame for those teams that are going to finish in the playoffs and not have any chance at drafting Jacob Stone. I expect the rankings will change drastically as the season goes on and teams become desperate to tank their way to first overall.
  11. Mac Atlas scores six goals in game one and thinks he can just take the rest of the series off
  12. Do I think that I am the best of the S88 draftees? Yes and no. Yes, in that I don't think anyone is better than me, and no in that I think there are players who I am not better than. There's not really any separation among the elite at this time. The list of the elite tier, in my opinion, are the following: FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist @STZ Merome Dilson @MexicanCow123 Bobby Bob @Baby Boomer Jacob Stone @scoop Mark Calaway @Beketov BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10 Jasper Davis @Josh just missed the cut. Also, consider I am just referring to where the players are at currently, and not their VHL potential. That wouldn't really change the list other than I think Jardy might be planning to play out an entire career in the VHLE? If that's the case, his career potential would obviously be lower. Among these six players, I believe only myself and Jardy (based on who has had VHLE free agent offers) intend to play in the VHLE this season. No one was over 200 TPE at the time of the cut-off date, so playing in the VHLM is completely allowed for each of us this season. There is, however, definitely room for us in the VHLE. But outside of Jardy and myself, they've elected to stay down and presumably dominate the much weaker competition like a bunch of cowards.
  13. 1. As one of the teams with almost a 6-4-1 roster, I think we have to be considered a contender going into the season. I don't know that we'll be the favorites to win it all, but it's hard to predict that at this point. We have a great chance to compete for sure. Get to the playoffs, and from there, anything can happen. 2. I think a players VHLE draft should follow the same principles of the VHLM where you are drafted in the first draft that takes place after you create. It might make the drafting a bit trickier for VHLE GMs, and maybe this is just because I'm looking at it from the perspective of someone who is playing my pre-draft year in the VHLE, but I like the idea. I do like the idea of call-ups being allowed up to the trade deadline, and if VHLM -> VHLE callups were going to be included in that, all VHLM players having a VHLE team to be called up to (see S88 draftees who could potentially be playing in the VHLE this season) would be ideal. 3. I think it went fine. Logan Foley seems like a good pick. He could be a contributor this season, and should definitely make an impact in the next. I think the team could have benefited from taking a defenseman prospect with one of the later picks, though I don't really see many that were available. 4. Considering defensemen seemed to be one of the holes the team had, with just Lloyd Braun on the roster, to go from that to arguably having the best group of defensemen in the VHLE is pretty big. By the time we get to the playoffs, it will be three 300+ TPE defensemen, something that no other team looks to have. 5. Not unless he gets injured. 6. Best Forum Thread, maybe. I know with the cultural shift to Discord, we might not get as many fun threads on the forum anymore, but surely there's still some fun discussion on here.
  14. I didn't know that either until just playing it now.

  16. Yeah, that's the same for Luanne I'm finding actually. She has three good pitches but her stamina is terrible so I've changed it up and made Kenny my pitcher. His stamina is incredible and he can utilize most of the power up pitches really well. He actually has a second perfect game now. I'm not sure if he's immune to falling over, but she says that when people fall over. Maybe she specifically doesn't say it for Kenny though.
  17. Midway through the season, the team is leading the division with a 5-2 record. The highlight of the first half was definitely KENNY THROWING A PERFECT GAME. Also Kimmy has as many home runs as Pablo.
  18. I am interested, and thus, I accept.
